I just want to know if I can use a metamagic feat on a single casting of a spell more than one time. For example I want to extend spell on a first level spell (twice: 1st level spell +1 +1 = 3rd level spell for x3 duration (or would it be x4 duration?) . Is this legal?

no, pg 113 core book, second column, 3rd sentence

You can't apply the same metamagic feat more than once to a single spell.

sorry :smalleek:

"You can't apply the same metamagic feat more than once to a single spell." (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/metamagic-feats) Extend-stacking in this way will not work.

Also, there is a Simple Q&A by RAW sticky thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214416) for quick questions like these  Welcome to the Playground.

EDIT: Ninja'd, but I linked the SRD!

If it's that important to you, you may want to consider asking your DM for a House Rule feat that would allow it.

Extra Meta-Magic

Benefit: Choose a metamagic feat you have. You may now apply that metamagic effect upon a spell more than once. The increase in spell level of the metamagic feat stacks. (i.e. Extending a spell twice is +2 levels, three times is +3 levels, etc.). For some metamagic feats this feat may have no discernible effect, such as Quicken.

Special: You may take this feat more than once. Each time you take this feat, you must choose another metamagic feat you have.
