So I am helping a new player (new to PF/d20, but not to role playing) build a character, and I told him this place would be a fun place to kick around after reading the rules and he found an old thread about a build that mixed Oracle of Life and Hospitaler Paladin, then prestige'd into Holy Vindicator.

For the most part the build is fleshed out, but we need to playgrounds help with one thing (as I have been playing pathfinder under a year I am also pretty unfamiliar with it), what are some ways to up your critical modifier and threat range for a paladin? Dips would be acceptable but preferably items, spells, and short feat chains or solo feats would be preferable!

Thanks playground.

Edit: we are considering the Keen Weapon bond, but there may be a better way to get the bonus. Also we are undecided on whether we are melee or ranged.

OLD thread? OLD?
Barely 3 months old it is (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13120545&postcount=5)...

I don't get no respect...

Well, I consider the Holy Vindicator option the less powerful one. But I can see the draw, better casting at the expense of better Paladin goodies.

I assume you want to maximize Crits for the Divine Wrath (and similar) abilities of the Vindicator?

Well, your 2 main options are the Keen Weapon Enchant, and Improved Critical feat.
Keen is almost always the better option, as you can get it earlier (Imp Critical needs 8 Bab), and it doesn't make you pick a weapon. But Imp. Critical can be nice because it automatically works with any [selected weapon type].

Outside of that, there ain't much.

LOTS of ways to improve you Confirm rate though...

Level 20 Fighter's get +1 to their Critical Multiplier (which helps you in absolutely no way).

OOooOOO!
If you can work something out with another player (or can take the Leadership feat), then have the OTHER guy get a high Critical Threat Range weapon and take the Butterfly's Sting (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/butterfly-s-sting-critical) feat.
Ideally your friend would have a two-weapon fighting build with Kukris, or anything that can get a 15-20 Crit range. He'd attack your target first, then you'd step in with a 20/x4 weapon and just obliterate it. *cough* overkill *cough*

You may also want to consider the Falcata (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons), it is the ONLY weapon with both an increased Threat Range AND a boosted Critical Multiplier (19-20/x3). All other weapons top off at either 18-20/x2 or 20/x4.
It is an Exotic 1-handed weapon, Exotic is not ideal, but can be made to work.

Well I didn't know it was you who came up with the build, but me and my friend tip our hat to you, and the Holy Vindicator just looks like it's more fun!
