So I stumbled on Oerthblood (DR351 pg45) last night and I've been trying to figure out the exact rules around it.

1. Can it be alloyed with any metal? Adamantine, Starmetal, etc?

2. Does it have all of adamantine's properties even when alloyed with say iron? Specifically does a weapon made of Oerthblood and iron or cold iron gain the ability to bypass hardness less than 20 and bypass DR/adamantine?

Thanks the article is a bit non-specific in terms of all this.

As far as I know, with Oerthblood, it tacks on the features of adamantine as well as the base metal. Couldn't decide whether to have your armor be light or strong? Take that mithral breastplate and make both! Need a weapon that can take a hit but can still get through that damned vampire's damage reduction? Temper your silver longsword with a dash of that, and you're set!

This is, as far as I know, the way it was meant to be used. I do believe that it's a pretty expensive material, though.

Yes it is expensive +6000 for weapons.

The article in Dragon is fairly clear on the fact that it's tough doubling hardness etc. Its more vague on the bypassing DR and Hardness for weapons made with it.
