I've decided to adapt this thread since from here on I'm going to be LPing more than one game! I would absolutely love fair feedback from playgrounders, if they're willing to give some over. I know my mic sucks but I'm too poor to do much about it right now. I'm also hoping to get the feedback from playgrounders on games they'd like to see LP'd! And if none of ya wanna give it, then I'll just stick my tongue out at you all! Blahh!

All my gaming videos are recorded in HD - I'm surprised my computer can handle it but there you go! I'm starting off with the Crusader Kings 2 Game of Thrones mod but current plans are to expand into Fallout: New Vegas very soon and I'm currently working hard on preparations for a planned Minecraft series just because I really love Minecraft and will have a lot of fun doing it (the most important reason to LP something, in my opinion).

Crusader Kings II - A Game of Thrones Mod

I thought you guys might like this (or you might not, who knows), and having looked through the rules I see nothing wrong with posting it, even though I'm paranoid. My past ADOM playthroughs were appreciated and maybe some of you folks will remember me, maybe not. Either way, I'm going to do another LP, but this time with a video twist!

I'll be playing Crusader Kings 2's wonderful "A Game of Thrones" mod. It is my hope to give people a real-time insight into the complexities of both Crusader Kings 2 and the mod and hopefully to make a hopefully enjoyable experience. Do not expect perfect gameplay, for one because I have zero interest in playing "to win" but would rather play to have fun, win or lose. I'll try to keep the action fast-paced enough to avoid people getting bored, whether it will work or not I have yet to see.

The series shall start with Lord Ned Stark during Robert's Rebellion, but will not necessarily stick with the Starks. Once I feel I've done everything that is interesting to do with the North, I will likely switch to another character in the same save, and another, to explore more possibilities at all levels of the Game of Thrones ladder and to see just how strange and alternate this game gets. I know that I don't have a vast knowledge of Game of Thrones lore so don't expect complicated background stories from me. I will however poke around the more famous families now and then, just to see what they're up to. Who knows what treasures can be dug up...

Hardcore Fallout: New Vegas
To be clear, I've never played Fallout New Vegas before. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the Fallout Universe and I've played every Fallout game before this, but I never got around to playing it. I've heard a lot of positive things about this edition of the game and there's no way I'm going to go without a good playthrough of this.

In true daring gamer fashion, I will be playing this Hardcore and Blind. I'm also trying to play it Iron Man, although wish me luck on that aspect...Fallout doesn't have the greatest shooter controls in the world and I haven't touched it in so long!

All videos are recorded in HD, but on a somewhat crummy PC there may be performance issues. Hopefully this will be resolved in upcoming episodes on my newer computer!

Torchlight II - Let's Play Elite Co-op
What happens when you take five friends with old mics and worse tempers, then set them on the path of an evil, dark power fuelled by late-night snacks and alcohol? Only one way to find out!

Videos are recorded in 720p and I've used this opportunity to try out some more complicated and powerful video editing techniques and software, hopefully this won't be wasted and the LP will be fun, however impossible herding 5 impatient gamers might be! Sound is a little imbalanced and distorted in places because Google Hangouts is CRAAAAP at internet recording. I've insisted that future sessions be recorded on Vent.

For anyone who might not know, Torchlight II is a wonderful new game developed and owned by Runic Games. This game comes very cheaply compared to its AAA competitor Diablo 3, but isn't lacking in the department of features or gameplay quality - for me, it's a great game and definitely worth the cash.

I've only watched about 5 minutes so far, because it's taking me ages to load this video (but since you went through the trouble of making it available in such high quality, I feel I should watch it all pretty-likes), but I wanted to comment that one, it looks like quite an interesting game, and I find myself regretting not buying it while it was on sale, and two, you've got the loveliest voice in the world. ._.

EDIT: Additional thought at about 7.5 minutes- you can marry people who haven't even been born yet? There were people with ages of 0 and 1 on the list of potential spouses. What kind of game IS this? =P

EDIT2: It seems like a really interesting game, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing more along the lines of you pillaging and burning your way across Westeros. *applies for a position as minion* >.>

Minion? Me? I'm Ned Stark! We have sworn friends, allies and occasionally servants...but minions? Never!

To clarify, you cannot *marry* anyone under the age of 16 (quite against the lore of Game of Thrones, really), but you can offer them a betrothal from the moment they're breathing. It is a very fun game, though, simply for the dynastic politics (which we're going to be touching on slightly next).

Also I have zero idea what you're talking about regarding my awful voice. It ain't nice.

As far as I'm aware, there is no scripted Greyjoy rebellion. The Greyjoys do not like the King, Robert, or me, though, so they're innately likely to rebel on their own whoever is in charge.

If they do rebel, there is nothing Ned Stark can do about it. Due to the mechanical limitations of the game, The North has no ships. When The North was given the grace of ships, Ned Stark spent his entire war massing armies on the beaches but unable to take them anywhere (due to not enough ships), instead of marching down the Kingsroad.

The game can continue for hundreds of years more, if I wish it. The events of the novel will not be triggered by event but that doesn't matter because the way Crusader Kings 2 works mechanically speaking, you have the potential for all of that and more. The AI naturally works to plot against its rivals and character AI varies based on the personality traits assigned to them. Basically, this game could go on essentially forever, if I wanted it to.

Really enjoying the CK2 let's play, love seeing things turn out differently. (Cersei getting Casterly Rock, the Florents taking their 'rightful' place at Highgarden, Rhaegar on the bloody council, amazing. Keep it up!

One thing, a few days ago an update to the mod was released that reworks a bunch of things, most importantly making the interactions between the lords paramount and the Iron Throne more dynamic. I don't know if the save you're using would be compatible, but if it is, might be worth updating.

I'm really enjoying this let's play. It spurned me to finally buy the game and try this mod out. The game on its own is fun but this mod is really interesting, especially in the second scenario with Robert as king as wars are few and far between.

However, my first experience was a bit of a rough one. I was playing as Tywin since King Tywin I sounded good to me...but he died of gonorrhea and Tyrion died the next day for no reason. :smallannoyed:. Suffice it to say, I ended that game before I had to play as Cersei.

Anyway, keep them coming. A re-imagining of this story is pretty fun to watch play out with RNG determining nearly everything.

Mercenary ships aren't expensive, no...I just have no need for them at this time. And yeah, I know about the plot intrigue icon on the character screen, but surprisingly I didn't make the connection about the lack of ambition, due to other assassination plots still appearing on the intrigue screen. That's a rare Paradox mechanic I didn't know. I've put in something like 6,000 hours of my life into Paradox games now, so it's pretty rare I find something I don't know about one of the games - that said I usually play at a slower pace than this, and thus I'm struggling a little to keep up and narrate simultaneously.

Ned might have a base Intrigue score of 0, but your excellent Spymaster means your effective Intrigue is 23, so you could definitely get some plottin' on if you wanted.

The Clash of Kings campaign sounds fun. And what would be really interesting is playing a house that is presently supporting the Iron Throne, like the Lannisters, and play them to independence. Then there will be more kings! :D

I played this as the Starks, Eddard specifically, during Robert's Rebellion. Robert died, the entire Kingsguard died, Catelyn Stark plotted to kill Benjen for no reason so I had to jail and divorce her out of principle, and then I married a Targaryen.

Now that will have to go out the window with the update. :smallannoyed:

Playing Tyrion Lannister would probably be a hoot, because he's almost the exact opposite of Ned—very savvy and quite unfit for battle.

Following polity's suggestion: If you did the War of the Five Kings campaign, you could have Tyrion assassinate Tywin, take control of the Lannister clan and try to take the throne from Joffrey/Cersei.

I'll keep all those ideas in mind, thanks for the feedback. :D Tyrion might require some modding to get playable as I don't think he holds land, but it's an interesting idea I could consider sometime.

I could certainly undergo SOME kind of intrigue thanks to Roose Bolton, but it wouldn't be in-character for Ned to try and he's still reliant (also his effective intrigue should be a little higher, I think, due to getting half of Catelyn's intrigue score which is...10 or something? Not sure, I can't remember quite off memory). No need to wait any longer, anyway.

I realize that the Iron Throne, structurally speaking, is an empire, but it's really hard to figure out who's who when everything has the same brown colour.

I'm very cautious when I'm in unfamiliar territory as I don't know what to expect. This is par for the course in any game, but the more comfortable I get the bolder and faster my pace becomes. We'll see how I do in FNV. AGOT is definitely a completely different style of game (as is my approach to it).

I agree with you Flickerdart, I've already recorded a couple episodes in advance now but in the meantime I'm going to poke around mapmodes and see if I can't find some good ways to mix it up more. All this dull brown is getting atrociously painful! Clash of Kings might be a nice scenario to play just for map prettiness. ;)

ok, I know this is a blind walkthrough but I think there are some game mechanics things you should know

Perks every 2 levels unlike FO3 which is 1 per level

weapon casings & shells are weightless even in hardcore and they are always bought/sold at 0 price (unless they are part of a box)

to repair items you either need:
a repair kit (craftable at benches)
a trained person
a copy of the item. basically you cannibalise the item to make the other one better (i.e. your 3 single shotguns can be combined to one in better condition pick one and press "R" in the inv screen)

It's taken me awhile to get anything new out...because I've been working my rear off on new graphics and a new presentation format for the videos. I hope it's worth the investment, because I think it upped the professionalism at least by a lot. Now I just have to work on that squeaky voice...

Episodes of FNV and AGOT are processing as we speak, but in the meantime I have a new video of a new series started up, because I couldn't help myself. 3 is my limit, though...for now.

Until now I've been recording with FRAPS, but it gets pretty huge and I'm quite sure it causes more lags to my game than otherwise...

Now I'm trying new things. I tried to add my commentary after the episode, but while I can get the sound quality better and more audible, it feels too fake. I feel the need to talk during the game now that I started with the LPs and it feels wrong doing it afterwards...

My next attempt will be with PlayClaw and Audacity so I'll be recording my game in one file and commentary in another and them merge. The test went quite well and looks like PlayClaw is less resource intensive than FRAPS. And I can tell when I'm recording, although it adds the FPS into the video... With FRAPS I was always afraid I didn't record...

Only issue is that I need to manually synch the audio...

As for my recording, I record video in 1920x1080p using FRAPS at the moment - I've had a program called D3DGear or something recommended to me as achieving similar quality with considerably less RAM, so I'll probably look into that at some point. Because of the lag and distortions caused by recording audio simultaneously, I record audio on a laptop using Audacity and press the record buttons simultaneously with different hands. This means I don't have to put any effort into synching as they start at the exact same point, I just have to convert the file to mp3 and load it into the video editor when I'm sticking the videos together.

As for being afraid of FRAPS' recording status, if you use F12 (I think it is), you can enable/disable the FPS counter and where on your screen it is. If the counter is red, its recording, yellow its not.

Well, I had already played a ton of Fallout 3, so I knew what I was doing. My first death was a stick of dynamite to the face when defending Goodsprings, but the second was Cazadores somewhere out in the middle of nowhere.

Sai: are you going to use quick travel alot or are you planning on walking everywhere?

there is a way to purify water, if you go to a campfire (and workbench, or reloading bench) you can see all the recipies you have, and the skill you'll need to make it.

I dunno. Sai is pretty cautions and you don't have to fight the Legion in Nipton. With their numbers and Sai lacking companions yet, I don' think she'll engage.

I'd say first death depends no what she does in Novac. If she'll first get the unlisted quest of checking at Charlie, I think the Legion will get her there. Although I always killed them at Nipton first so perhaps they won't be attacking here there...

If she'll go to REPCONN without Boone then I think the Nightkin will get her.

Not much to say about this episode though... I thought you could recruit Cass from the start, didn't talk to her before the Crimson Caravan though, so didn't know.
