The feat gunsmithing says that you can make 1000GP a day, but it doesn't say you need to make a check. There are no craft checks written anywhere in Ultimate Combat on crafting a gun also.

Does that mean that a gunslinger with gunsmithing just creates 1000gp with no checks and no DC to beat?

With that logic he can pump out a revolver every other day for 2000gp and sell it for 4000gp. Which makes him one of the most overpowered crafters in the universe!

Please tell me I am wrong. I've tried reading around and my google-fu has let me down.

At level 7, my Ranger has +15 to craft bows. It's taken me almost a fortnight to do the masterwork component! Yet the Gunslinger can roll out a new revolver in 2 days?

Yes, but only NPC ones. PC always sell for 1/2 price.

False, you asked more than one question:
"With that logic he can pump out a revolver every other day for 2000gp and sell it for 4000gp. Which makes him one of the most overpowered crafters in the universe!"

That was an implied question.
Second, it helps if you link feat: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/gunsmithing

This part tells you there is no DC: "You do not need to make a Craft check to create firearms and ammunition or to restore firearms."

Starbuck is correct, that's pretty much how it works. The mitigating factors are that firearms are 1) More expensive, 2) setting specific and the DM may not allow their inclusion, 3) You need to burn a feat or take a level of gunslinger.
