Sorc spells against demons.[3.5]

I play with a lvl 8 sorc that is currently a two trick pony, with fireballs and magicmissiles... so he wasnt preforming that well against demons, due to fairly high resistance and immunities.
Any spells that you guys find to work particularly well against demons... we will end up fighting a balor (in around 10 lvls) unless we die before the encounter.

Energy Substitution feat (Complete Arcane, p.79), and Assay Resistance (also Complete Arcane, p.98). Both of these are really useful for blasty-casters generally.

Orb of Force works wonders. No SR and no resistances come into play.

Searing Spell (Sandstorm) will also let you continue to use fire, only this time it will bypass their fire resistance.

You can also look into picking up Silver Pyromancer (5N) or Exalted Arcanist (BoED) to toast evil outsiders.

I enjoy orb of sound and lesser orb of sound - yes the damage is D4s but so few things get sonic resistance...

Also you might want to get Dimensional Anchor - you do need to beat their Spell Resistance, but stopping them telporting about is useful.
