I have been sifting around in forums related to optimizing a conjuration-specialized wizard and one of the frequent suggestions is to take the alternate class feature "Enhanced Summoning." The alternate feature allows wizards to gain the Augmented Summoning feat for free instead of the Scribe Scroll feat gained at level one. In addition, the Conjurer replaces the Bonus Feats that wizards are normally granted in favor of Summon-specific buffs awarded at 5th and 10th level. My question is whether multi-classing into strong Conjuring prestige classes such as the Malconvoker or Master Specialist would count toward gaining the benefits from the higher level features of Enhanced Summoning, or are they are only granted by taking the required levels in ONLY wizard. For example, if a wizard/malconvoker had a total CL of 10 would it gain the summon buff from enhanced summoning at lvl 10? It sounds sort of vague and as I've said it seems like many optimization threads say that Enhanced Summoning is a MUST if it is available in your campaign, so I can't imagine it is expected that you would take 10 levels in straight wizard to gain the full benefit from Enhanced Summoning before going on to other powerful caster class options. Just looking for some thoughts and opinions. Thanks for hearing me out, playgrounders.
