I've decided to make a thread to put some NPCs in. Feel free to add your own, comment on mine, and use them in your games. I would like some feedback on how I'm doing, please.

Terrik Brightscales

Atop a shaggy-looking dog rides in a gold-scaled kobold carrying a lance and shield with a crudely-painted dragon on it. He wears armor that, despite its ramshackle appearance, is quite well-made and has obviously been maintained with great care. He carries himself with great confidence, despite his stature.

Somewhat of a local celebrity, or at least an oddity, Terrik Brightscales is a self-proclaimed Knight-Errant of the land. He takes his position very seriously, even if no one else does.

Acting in the name of a mysterious draconic patron, Terrik roams the land, performing various acts of bravery and courage in exchange for jewels, magic items, and the attention of fair maidens. While this would not garner him much notice normally, he has the unlikely tendency to succeed, even against all odds.

The fact that he is a kobold does not deter him in the slightest, though it has been known to get him into a few jams. While not usually considered a threat, there have been more than a few who failed to take him seriously, a slight which he takes as a serious breach of his honor. He always answers such an insult with a challenge to a duel. Once again, he is unusually lucky, in that he has been able to slide his way out of any fight he couldn't win straight up.

Terrik is always seen with his faithful riding dog Achilles nearby. The animal is fairly short, and covered in long, shaggy grey fur. Achilles is usually quite mild-tempered and docile, only showing anger when his master is riding him into battle or threatened.

Potential Encounters:

Player characters are in a tavern when an armored kobold enters, declaring himself a knight-errant and willing to take any quest of noble deeds. He promptly gets laughed at and challenges the first person he sees, likely a PC, to a duel.
Players are on a journey related to their quest and come to a bridge. They find their way across their bridge blocked by an armored kobold riding a dog. He promptly informs them that only those who prove their worth against him may pass.
The players are delving a dungeon when they encounter a dog riding kobold charging a monster greatly out of his league. Despite being obviously outmatched, the kobold gives no hint of fear, shouting out taunts at the monster.
Having encountered him before, the PCs are reunited with Terrik as he is on the run from the local guards. It seems his efforts to win the heart of the lord's daughter were far too successful.
