Summon Question (PF or 3.5)

Hey.
I wanted to ask you guys a question, what happens when a summoned monster, say a Fiendish Dire Shark, Swallows someone, and the spell ends, either because of dispel, banishment, duration ended, the shark lost all its hp or failed a Save-or-Die?
Does the creature the summon swallowed stay on the same plane? or does it go with the summoned creature?

I'd say the swallowed creature stays behind as long as it's still alive. Otherwise, it's food.
