So Psions can cast while bound or grappled but is there anyway outside of an Anti-psionic Field of stopping a psion from casting?

Unconsciousness, damage sufficient to force a concentration check that they cannot overcome, or ability damage to their manifesting stat that renders them ineligible to use their powers.

They still need to make a concentration check to manifest while bound or grappled, other than that dropping their casting stat to 10 or below, knocking them unconscious or putting them in an AMF (assuming magic psionic transparency) would still work

Edit: damn, psionic swordsage'd

Don't let them multiclass into a spellcasting class /pedantic.

As I recall, manifesting suffers the same problems as regular casting. AoOs if you do it too close, etc. Silence and holds don't work, but I think there might be items that drain pp somewhere. That or have another psion drain them. Or break their brains.

Easiest way for a relatively mundane character is probably to just run them out of pp somehow, then prevent them from resting properly.

Hit them. In the head. Hard.

Bribe them?

Make them watch modern music videos until they go into a coma from Int damage.

I think I remember a weapon enchantment that drained PP....

I'm amazed nobody has posted this yet...

Psionic RestraintsXPH175 limit the amount of PP a psionic character can spend per round, starting at 5 for 1,000gp up to none at all for 24,000gp.

It's awe-striking how much cheaper this is than the arcane equivalent. Manacles of Antimagic: 140,000 gp (BoED). Sigh. That seems like a more appropriate price. I used AMMs on a player once for plot, and when he escaped I had to deal with tripling party WBL.

Well, if you use magic-psionic transparency, one could postulate that these work on magic-users as well. The one that allows 5 pp/round prevents anything higher than 3rd level, 3pp/round 2nd level, 1pp/round 1st level.

Almost anything without an AoE requires line of sight and line of effect. Block that and it's hard to do anything against you.

Not that most psions won't still have options, but it will limit what they can do.

Isn't there a power that disables another manifester's manifesting ability? The text read something to the effect of "if he fails his save, the targetted manifester becomes unable to manifest powers for the duration of this power," if IIRC. It might've been a spell though.

How does have Psion levels change how you shut down the use of their spell casting class?

Manifesters still need 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep to recover PP, without which they can't manifest.
