Best option for a ranged weapon-

I have a Scimitar and a Kukri for TWF, but I want some range.

I could make the Scimitar a thrown weapon, but for the range increment, I might as well close to melee.

If I could somehow morph it into a thrown weapon, that would be great.

Which begs the question, is a weapon in flight considered "unattended"?

Thoughts?

Edit: Half-Celestial Paladin, Feats are largely spoken for (I could lose Power attack if I had to). Not a lot of flex in the character at present.

Really though, I can charge 120 ft, I may as well not worry about it.

Have you seen, and have room for, a few levels of bloodstorm blade? You can turn melee weapons into throwing weapons.

Other than that, I suggest a composite longbow

1) Books available? (also, Dragon Magazine, 3rd Party, homebrew?)

2) Budget?

yeah, I'm thinking the composite will be the way to go

EDIT: All books from 3.5/PF, let's say... 40k for the budget, but less is better.

What feats do you have, do you have feats to put towards a ranged weapon, are you more concerned about range, damage, magic properties, whats your build so far, do you have any exotic weapon profs?

My favorite ranged weapon is Overland flight cast by the wizard =)

But, composite long bow is your winner here. Use activated ring of Swift Fly (say, 5 times per day), could be a really neat item.

My personal favorite ranged weapon? Great Crossbow from Races of Stone.
2d8 medium size + 18-20X2 crit range. Range increment of 120ft

I personally prefer turning it into the crossbow shotgun.

Gloves of Endless Javelins (MIC)
Hank's Energy Bow (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ask/20061227a)

A stout pair of leather gloves, and some Effigy porcupines/armadillos/hedgehogs/turtles.

I'll agree that Gloves of Endless Javelins (MIC) would be the way to go.

If you can activate it, a wand of orb of force.

Touch attacks that ignore DR for the win.

You could make normal attacks that ignore DR with a Hank's Force Bow or a Glove of Endless Javelins. Whichever you like really.

As ranged touch attacks?

Since he's got TWF I assume he's a melee type. He's out of feats so he's not gonna be able to do much with a bow. I figured a wand of orb of force would be A) cheap and B) pretty much a guaranteed hit if he came by TWF through dex, and still exceedingly more likely to hit than a normal ranged attack if he didn't.

Of course the gloves of endless javelins would be my second choice.

Maybe put a Wand Chamber on your weapon, detailed in Dungeonscape, and put in a Wand of Holy Smite (CL 10) which you're able to activate due to your Half-Celestial spell-like ability.

That can be in addition to whatever ranged weapon you choose.
