In this comic (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0583.html) Qarr tells Therkla that he's missing the Olympics. Has it really been 4 years? Whoa!

Winter Olympics . . .?

yes, i remembered that part and it was really 4 years (notice the 2008 copyright under the page).
I was curious to find that reference again, but I didn't because I was afraid that would lead to calculation on the update pace of the strip. In fact it has lead to such calculations, and I had to rewrite the previous phrase three times to avoid discussing the update schedule (which is forbidden).
Anyway, it has been such a long time. for years of refreshing pages, and checking giantitp every morning and every evening and, when an upate has been missing for some days, also several times during the day. and oots is just one out of many stories I'm following while they progress. my life would be much happier if I could only like stories that are already completed.

Well, seeing as Qarr has been off-panel for the duration of these Olympics, he's probably not missing them at all - there's a nice plasma TV in the cast's break room, you know.

Or maybe he can nip on down to the IFCC's place and watch it on the HD(Hell-Damned)TV with the blood plasma screen (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0637.html)

Maybe he got lucky and got banished back there, but it's more likely the door shielded him and he's stuck trying to pick up over-the-air signals from inside an enormous stone pyramid.

Wow. Rereading that strip, it doesn't feel like it was four years ago. Maybe it's because the art style was pretty much complete by then and it isn't as jarring as going from the current strips to the ones in even the 300s?
