Is there any way for a warforged wizard to not suffer from the warforged 5% arcane spell failure chance?

a one level dip into spell sword grants ignore 10%, and IIRC level warmage does the same. Not sure about feats or equips though

Twilight enhancement, from PHB2, -10% ASF. Makes you sparkle, though.

Armoured Mage from Compleate Mage would work too.. but that is multi classing into fighter.

Slap on the dragonborn template which gets rid of its body armour.

Warmage (along with Duskblade, Dread Necromancer, Beguiler and others) grants casting in light armor for their spell lists, not any general ASF reduction.

The question is, though, does it turn them into vampires? :smalltongue:

Note the last sentence of that ACF:

This benefit only applies to spells of a level equal or lower than your Fighter class level +1

So you'd have to have 8 Fighter levels to cast 9th level spells, which is impossible pre-epic, barring a few exceptional circumstances.

With retraining, the Fighter variant can at least be useful on certain gishes (take the ACF, go Fight 2/Wiz 4, retrain the ACF away at ECL 7 and dip Spellsword for ACF reduction).

Alternatively, Urban Soul from Cityscape doesn't have a racial affiliation and does grant light armored casting for characters with light armor proficiency without losing CL - that's typically less practical than just taking Unarmored Body, but it can be decent filler in gishes that don't have anything better to do with their 6th level.

Or Spellthief+Master Spellthief, but that's again a feat and a level to do something that could be done with a feat.
