The First Age

In a blaze of light, the newly created Lesser Gods descend to the world Genya has created. The six land atop Mount Ieniur, sending shockwaves throughout Baldan. The earth and stone of the island shakes and shatters, tearing apart the landscape. The light of the landing, and the force of the impact, can be both seen and felt throughout most of the world, though the primal animals which exist at the moment do not understand what they are witnessing.
The brilliant light fades, and the Lesser Gods are given their first view of the world that has been gifted to them by their creator. They take their time to observe the world around them. Perhaps a few hours, perhaps years, pass as these new beings grow used to their surroundings and get used to the feel of the raw power flowing through their bodies.
The Lesser Gods begin to think; they formulate plans for this world, fantasize of brilliant creations that they will make. They briefly familiarise themselves with each other, then they go their own ways, spreading across the world as the Elder Gods watch.

Isca sits, at the foot of the great mountains of E9. The mountains stab at the sky, barren and lifeless, denying Isca any rest. Isca desides that this will not do. Pointing a single finger at the tallest peak, he demolishes tonnes of gravel and stone In an instant, causing a great waterfall to cascades into existance. Twirling his fingers in an arcane fashion causes a large lake to form halfway down the mountain, where the waterfall first touches the ground after It's massive plummet. A slicing motion causes a huge river to form, bisecting the island's northern and southern sections.

Isca looks at him first work, and Is pleased. But something is still missing. He pulls his hands into the air, and the mountain grows until it's head, and the source of the waterfall, are way above the clouds, making It look like the water of the world Is poured out here. Lastly he blows a stream of cool air, ensuring the southern part of the island has a warm , but balmy, climate all year round.

Isca is pleased. From now on, he will name this island Inverben, and the mountain shall be Isca's rest.

Let's start with a roll, then.

[roll0]

The Prince With No Shadow parts from his siblings, taking the form of a grey eagle, vast winged and sharp eyed as he soars to the southwest. He does not go far, alighting on the northern tip of an Eastern landmass. This, he thinks, will do for a beginning.

"Let there be a forest, dark and deep and full of secrets," he says, drawing upon his innate power, and a forest there is. "And let the crown of the forest awaken, and stretch, and twist in upon itself." The forest is large, and in its northern extremities, does not behave as one might expect. Thorns and branches seem to reach out at the traveler, and even those who are on their guard might find that paths do not lead where reason says they ought. The Prince looks upon all this, and a thin smile crosses his lips. "And let the forest know its master," he concludes, walking into his new seat of power.

Ca'utlhaanog left the company of its terrestrial brethrens and perched itself upon the barren moon. There, on the precipice between reality and meta-physical its ethereal hand would shape the newly forged world.

On its lunar throne, the Crown of the Cold Void took an interest in the stilled land. However, it must first dissect the forces of creation; break it down to its primal elements. It turned to the mountains to the far south of the Pitem Glade; its gaze pierced from the heavens like a radiant maelstrom that washed over the valley. When the flood of light ceased, the land was forever changed.

It would be a land without forests, rock or rivers. Instead, it will be a desert of obsidian sand and crystal towers.

Yesh looked around the most barren of lands, and Lo, it was forbidding. Thus did Yesh the Four-Pawed lope to the land known as D4. Yesh did harness the power invested in His bestial frame to alter the bare dirt beneath him, so it would be fit for his people. Thrice did He alter it, in D4, to a oaken forest, in C5 to a vastly fertile meadow, where the green blades did sway as the waves of the sea, and lastly in C4, to another dense oak wood. Then, with His work done, Yesh moved to C5, and rested as a brown snake in the meadow.

[roll0]a roll for this, turn 10 points not to bad.

Ro watch while his brother gods created and shaped land around him. First Ro watch the forests of the Prince, how it twisted the path of the traveller was a wonder. Then he flew above the crystal spires and black sands of Ca'utlhaanog Desert, finding it both beautiful and haunting. Moving to the forest of Yesh, he saw land that was more welcoming the then ether of the first land he visited, but equally beautiful, one day this land would make some mortal race a good home. Lastly Ro visited Inverben and was impressed by what he saw, the waterfall was a wonder and the island itself was a delight. Isca Had done himself proud.

Now it was time to start working on his own land, flying to the east Ro found a small sub-continent, landing on the south western coast (I8), Ro raised a mountain as high as he was able, then calling the heart fire of earth blew the top off his mountain, creating the volcano Ro Wrath, the sea facing west side had a lava fall. Ro then start to walk a meandering course towards the east coast (J8) where he walked a river of lava followed and the grass turned red and crystals trees grew, glowing bright with earthfire for sap and some with bright yellow fruit invested with earth power. When Ro reached the East he turned to what he created and was please. This was much more impressive then his brothers little efforts.

Ahsile watched them all working away. Biting her lip in careful thought, she went to the mountains (E6), because it was closer than travelling all the way to the ground. She looked at the bare rock, and open sky, and cried at the sheer raw wonder of it all. And her tears fell, like crystal drops, upon the unforgiving ground, and lay there, shining.

Ahsile sank to her knees, to investigate the shine, letting the glistening water run through her fingers. There should, she decided, be more shining. So she made the mountains sharper and pointier, made the ground full of shining stones and gleaming metals, and above she made the lakes, broad and narrow, shallow and deep, in countless numbers, for when she looked down upon them she saw what she liked best in the whole world. In the higher peaks she made glistening snow and ice and glaciers. In the low lands she breathed her warm breath and there was deer, and forest, and many hundreds of birds. She filled the lakes with shimmering fish, and crusted shellfish. And then, with a gentle tip of her finger, she made the rivers and streams, running like crystal braided hair.

After creating Inverben, Isca climbed to the top of his creation, where he could watch his brethren test their powers. Some of their creations impressed Isca, while others earned his admiration. But none matched Isca's view for what the world should have.

Isca rose from his mountain home, and walked to the east to visit the youngest of the gods. The ground rose where he tired, bearing his heavy frame. The Island he blessed, and It became a tropical paradise, gleaming with pure white sand, with the pure black wumpa tree's granting a weary traveler shade and substance. To protect the beautiful Island, Isca granted It two protectors. Firstly, he draw a circle around the island banks. A terrible maelstrom was created, perpetually circling the isle's shore's, preventing anything from setting foot on the isle. Then, he created the dread Admantoise. A supermassive, hyper-carnivorous beast, It was the only creature that had the strength to swim onto the isle. Isca gathered his power, and rested.

Ca'utlhaanog felt the essences sparked from the creations invoked by its nature-bound siblings. A warm, soothing breeze compared to the stilled wind of the Void Sands. Nevertheless, it paid no heed to the earthbound realms. Instead it remained encroached in thought; it studied the unseen deific energies spun reality from the raw elements. From the light. From the shadow.

It possessed uncanny sight into the otherworldly dimensions and it sought to better understand the elements beyond. While its sibling tapped into the physical elements, a different thought transpired within Ca'utlhaanog’s ambition; it aimed to dissect the very spatial fabrics within this world.

Within moments, the flood of light washed over the untamed lands bordering the Void Sands. The same black sands took form, but there were fewer crystal spires in the wake. In their absence, the otherworldly light rolled hills and cracked the very earth into a canyon. From the heaven’s eye, the ravine itself defied nature; its chasms took an erringly form that hinted of non- euclidean geometry.

It became a door. The canyon opened a numberless amount of caverns, forming a tunnel into the underground. Beneath the earth’s crust, Ca'utlhaanog echoed a thousand unspeakable arias and folded time and space within itself.

Here, the planet’s surface was no longer a mere mantle of rock and fire. It was a reflection of the cosmos beyond. From stretch of the horizon was an expanse of the black sky, the stars and ethereal nebulas. However, it was not a complete void. Filling the pockets of space was several floating mass (http://www.sciencephoto.com/image/324622/530wm/R3100073-Asteroid_belt-SPL.jpg), each no larger than an island.

Over time, otherworldly fauna (http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/173/6/2/alien_jungle_by_feddark-d3jmzvs.jpg) would paint the topside floating islands creating an extraterrestrial junglescape. Ca'utlhaanog’s mind left an impression on the under bellow, one that would distort the rock to take the form of abysmal maws and haunting eyes.

Were these floating lands once the remnants of a forgotten world, the byproducts of distorting time and space, or the lingering dream of an alien god? It mattered not; it is the will of the Crown of the Cold Void.

Yesh did awaken. How long had he slept? No matter. There was work to be done. The snake that was Yesh warped and became a great brown-hued eagle, suitable for looking over great swathes of land. Yesh saw that the towers to the east were now near some new, strange, floating rocks, yet these rocks could support more life than the desert. Yesh was pleased at His sibling's creation of a new habitat. Yesh raised mountains between the meadow and the Shattered Eden, as so to create a barrier for the animals there, be they ever so curious. Then, Yesh flew around His domain. The mundane animals gamboling there pleased Him, but something far more majestic was required of a God. Yesh did focus on the lizards under rock and stone, and felt pity for their small frames. Yesh picked up one of the little reptiles... and it changed. Wings sprouted, horns grew, and a vial of acid branched from it's stomach. In a matter of seconds, other lizards did the same. And the first Dragons were born. Another God would have to add sentience to the beasts, but for a while they would serve admirably.

Ro noticed the creatures that his brothers had made and smiled. Both The dread Admantoise and the dragons of Yesh are creatures worthy of mortal fear and awe, powerful and lords of there domains, the sky and sea, creature worth of the land he was shaping. The Admantose had a purpose but the dragons would make a worthy creature on his island. To Attract them here I shall make a prey species. A creature worthy of both them and my Island, its needs to be fast and powerful, a herbivore to live in the grassy plans but also about to live in the mystic lands by Ro wrath.

Ro thought for a few moment then drew his power, and created the nightmare,
Similar to the horses that ran on the plains but built on a larger scale. Where it mains and tails should be were flames, fairly muted now but were it to eat the red grass to the north they would be much brighter and hotter, and it speed was fast enough that the dragons would have to be clever to catch it. The perfect prey. Hopefully soon the dragons would be nesting on Ro wrath and catching his gift.

Thinking...

Ahsile watched the crystal water flow, and followed it as became richer and siltier, flowing down towards the sea. As she followed it, she saw streams become rivers and rivers divide and rejoin. And the lands they flowed over became rich, and fruitful, full of soft fruits and hard grains, rich meadows and teeming grasslands. At last the rivers flowed down to reach the sea, in a broad bay still called Ahsile's mirror, for the calm of the sea. On either side of the bay ground gradually rose up to became hilly but in the bay itself, all was rich and calm and deep and still.

Ahsile stayed there for a long while, because she in the bay something that she loved to look at. But eventually, she became curious about the hills and followed them northeast. Here the she bade the mountains soften into a twisting maze of hills and valleys, some bare rock, some rich and green, some thickly wooded. And each valley was a discovery and treasure, and each hilltop the vista to something new. And through these hills rivers ran and tumbled, sometimes disappearing into sinkholes and caves and caverns, sometimes tumblingover hills, and racing through valleys, following the rolling hills, falling gradually eastwards, towards the sea.

The trees intrigued her, and she though of what more she could do with them. So she created a great and rich forest to south, a vast forest that covered hills and mountains and plains alike, from the peniusla from sea to sea. And she made it full of life, that every leaf quivered, and every branch trembled, with the abundnace of creatures therein.

Exhausted but rather pleased with the genesis of the Shattered Eden, Ca'utlhaanog turned it’s thoughts to the Void Sands of the surface. The desert itself is a reflection of the dark sky; however its boundaries are too finite. The alien minded god folded the fabrics of creation and eroded the northern grassland. Once fertile country became desolate waste until it reached the edges of the Pitem Glade, where the life energy acted as a buttress to ever expanding void.

Ahsile stood on the mountaintop, and looked out over the shattered Eden. And she frowned. It was pretty, and she hadn't created it. It fact it was nothing to do with her. That seemed.. subtly wrong somehow. With a shrug she danced to the east, scattering gentle hills and grasslands and wild flowers as she stepped. But then she came to the ocean, and frowned again. Her flowers simply would not grow properly there, a matter she'd have to take up with The Prince with No Shadow when he happened to be within shouting range. And her feet would get wet. Then she remembered Shattered Eden, and she smiled.

When she had finished, there was a series of isles stretching from one shore to the other. Becasue she didn't want them to get wet, they were floating in the air, roughly forming a gigantic arc of islands floating at various heights. Because she didn't want to get wet, they were mostly connected by ramps, paths and narrow trails, thin walkways winding through the open air, made of superhard earth or thin stone. Now the flowers could grow from one coast to the other.

With a laugh, she stepped daintily from one stepping stone to another, across the Great Archway, until she found a grassy bank, on which she decided to take a nap. There was a stone in the way, so she threw it into the sea. Then she slept, dreaming glorious dreams. Grass and flowers grew all around

Create Mythic Land H6

The harsh unforgiving artic land of the north gradualy softens as it hits two obstacles in the south, running between the mountains and the coast. The first is a hilly taigia forest, a coldweather forest, covered in snow, that run from the coast most of the way to the mountains in the east. The second is a vast pit of fire, a great crack in the ground that drops away to form a deep chasm, with fire constantly filling the lower third. These two features form the northern border of this area.

This fire is partially fed by a bitter river of black pitch that runs north from a small lake of black pitch located on the eastern border of this area, approximately halfway down the the east side.

The rest of the area is fine and fertile grassland with scattered forests, getting gradually warmer as you go south.

Create mythic land H7

This is a super-fertile area of grassland, scattered forests of fruit and nut bearing trees, and gentle hills featuring naturally occuring berries, grapevines, and root vegatables. Dominating the centre of this pleasant land is Ahsile's Spire - a vast beam of light energy that seems to run from the sky straight down to the ground, ending in a natural rocky bowl some quarter of a mile across. This life-giving beam inspires rapid growth all around it, and thus the bowl is surrounded by a small band of thick and continuous plant growth, and unusually large and healthy animals.

Note - I've been accidently undercharging myself for Mythic land creation, so I've altered the points saved above from 15 to 12.

Ahsile looked at the mountians, and noted with annoyance that they were all jumbled and confused. And so Ahsile turned her great comb to the land, and started combing the land, singing as she did so. The result was a mountain range straight and fine, sharp of edge and unparallelled in beauty in the hights, but still jumbled and confused in the deep twisting valleys. What was combed out and discarded floated through the air, mixing with the song, and ended near the water, where it gathered in a fluffy pile, in hills light and airy and full of strange notes and tunes. And some rock never came down at all. So careful and so pure was Ahsile's combing, that there was nothing left of it that was heavy enough to fall, and it floated high on the spirt and breath of the purity of her song.

Create mythic land - G6 - The Singing Hills and a floating island
The Singing Hills to the west are made of soft porous rock, some of it 'soft' only as compares to granite, through to pumice so light it criumbles underfoot and floats in sea water, albiet not particularly well. The resulting range of hills is honeycombed with caves and caverns, and the wind sometimes plays the result like organ pipes, although more often like a chorus of giants blowing puiffily across the tops of a jumble of bottles. The hills moan and whistle almost constantly, and occasionally play what could, to the untutored ear, sound almost like a tune. During a storm the region is quite dangerous, as the sheer volume of noise produced by the wind can deafen or even stun. Most creatures in these hills either instinctively seek shelter in the innumerable caves and tunnels during poor weather, or are deaf. Creatures are curiously reluctant to hunt or eat eachother while sheltering from a storm, and fighting or predation is almost unheard of. This strange 'truce' state, possibly an effect of the sonic vibrations of the storm, lasts as long as the storm, and it is common to see predator and prey watching the entrance together, each one keen to move quickly once the storm starts to wane.

High above the channel, there is a single floating island, made of rock from the hills that is both hard and strong, but also so light that it literally flies. This drifts with the wind, and could theoretically travel great distances, were there some form of propulsion or means of steering. At present it is caught in a circling wind current, and shows no sign of going anywhere but in circles.

Create mythic land - Cloudcomb mountains - F8
This is a high range of mainly crystaline mountains. Tremendous underground forces have formed superhard crystalline rock, and forced it to the surface in the form of giant splinters. The result is a mountain range where roughly two out of every three peaks is a form of crystal, from jet-black obsidian, to smokey rose-tinted rock, through to peaks of clear transparent superhard glass.

As a result the region is quite dangerous. The crystals are often sharp, and their crystal nature leads to spikey peaks, and extremely narrow and deep valley/chasms, making navigation difficult and climbing perilous, and best done with fine chain rather than easily sliced rope. Their hardness leads to twisting winds that howl through the narrow twsiting valleys. This makes flying very difficult, but nearly so much as the occasional sharp transparent peak, almost invisible against the sky. The area is not entirely crystal, and enough normal stone and soil exists to support the limited plant life typical high mountains -alpine grass, dwarf trees including yet more variations on Ahsile's fruit trees, and hardy shrubs and wildflowers. However, because of the sheer amount of ground crystal mixed in, the soil, plants, and anything that relies on the plants for it's diet, tends to end up glittering with embedded crystal. This looks disturbing, , but appears harmless. The area also boasts spectacular geodes, gemstones, and of course enormous crystals of all kinds. The peaks are home to large numbers of birds and other avian creatures, who rely on superior skill in flying to make safe home here.

These mountains are sometimes used as a metaphor for Ahsile's personality: generous and breathtaking in beauty, full of rich life and hidden treasures, harsh, uncompromising, and ready to slice you to ribbons if you put a foot wrong. This comparison is embraced as a metaphor by a few of her most fanatical followers, but is mainly a joke told by the unkind.

Ca'utlhaanog studied the bubbling glades, and unconsciously etched a mountain range bordering the life-bound swamp. Was it a mere fluke of its power or hidden grand design, it is uncertain at this point.

Emerging from the mud of the Pitem Glades came a troop of great beasts, reaching a size so great they rivalled the mighty Dragons. They seemed to be great fish on legs, or perhaps they were lizards? Their bodies were covered in obvious, thick scales, and their heads also resembled those of the frogs and toads which leapt about in the waters beneath them, but there was definetely a fish-like quality to thier build and huge, whipping tails.
These lumbering unnamed creatures slowly waddled through the Pitem Glades. To the south, they found nought but uninhabitable sand and crystals, and to the east and north were great mountains; far wetter then the crystal desert, but still barren, and the terrain challenged the awkward beasts.
Those who strayed to the west, however, were in luck, for they came across the great, temperate jungles of Yesh, and there the majority did settle on the border of their new and old homes.

Yesh beholds the Great Frog troop with extreme shock. Another form of life? Made out of frogs?!? Interesting. Yesh backs away from the frogs, after watching a pack of Dragons fly near. This could get interesting.
Yesh watched the even conflict, and saw, unnoticed by the fighting giants, a group of canines, in awe of the battle. Yesh's heart was moved by pity yet again, as what hope did mere quadrapeds have against these giants? Maybe Yesh could change this... first, opposable thumbs...
Thus did Yesh create Cynocephaly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynocephaly) from the canines, and the first Thinkers were born. Yesh herded the (still baffled by their thoughts) race away from the war of the Frogs and the Dragons, and onto the Fertile Grasses, which He enlarged. There, Yesh left them, and rested again as a brown snake.

The Crown of the Cold Void was bemused by the recent shift of events. It found no sympathy for the frog beast’s plight. Instead, it was curious about the essence of life and the well spring that was the Pitem Glades. It was equally intrigued by the Hound-folk conjured by Yesh’s pity. Such vessel could prove useful.

However, Ca'utlhaanog found all of the creature’s physical form to constricting for its purpose. If any sentient creature is going to be worthy, it cannot be bound by the limitation of terrestrial time and space. No, it sought to create being that could transcend it’s physical dimensions.

Another experiment is in order. Within the Void Sands, time and space collapsed in on itself and left an bio-mass of razor maws, oozing tentacles and crimson eye. Chaos made flesh – these creatures shall call the dark desert its home. They are Ca'utlhaanog’s first attempt of spawning life and the very essence of its touch shall unravel the forms of the terrestrial beast to see how the breath of life’s essence and matter are intertwined.
