Flag of Inside, flown over all Remnant and Government Installations

Current Events: Human supremacist sentiment is growing in Inside, centered at the Human-Only restaurant known as the Sitar's Strings. The public stance of the group is for segregation of races, while decrying species based violence, but that violence continues to grow.

The title is a misnomer, of course. No doubt the moniker of this place was settled on after a brief conversation that started with, 'Wouldn't it be funny if...?'. But now the name has stuck.

But what is this place, you ask?

Inside is everything within the City Walls. As opposed to Outside, which is everything without. This strange, whimsical city seems to be the center of a planar Nexus, a crossing point between all possible worlds. One can find just about anything in this wondrous place, dreams that defy imagination and terrors that freeze the soul. People and whole places are regularly drawn into the Nexus, added to the chaotic melting pot of all possible realities.

And more than a few realities that aren't possible.

The city is surrounded by defensive walls, with an artificially and accidentally created moat outside the walls, a moat that has been diverted into a river-channel for one many bodies of water flowing through Inside. A gap in the walls and a bridge allow for entrance into the city proper, the main gate opening up to welcome newcomers Inside.

Welcome, traveler, to the City of Inside. The only boundaries you find within are the bounds of your own imagination.

Rules, Zones, Streets, and Locations

Rules

1:Please Spoiler any Fanservice in this thread! It is accepted that there will of course be some, and that romance and curtains happen. However, please be courteous to others and spoiler any scene that goes on for a little while, and if it reaches the point, curtain. This is so you can stay within forum rules, as well as letting those uninterested in the scene, pass by. Thank you.

2:Godmodding is not permissible! As stated in the rules in the FFRP Central Thread, (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166066), godmodding is generally not allowed without permission. If you're shaky on what might be, and what might not be godmodding, please follow the above link.

3:The DOOM-Shield. Inside is currently equipped with a techno-magic shield that mitigates "global" effects to a survivable level. This is to prevent anyone from simply killing all the NPCs, or affecting the entire city. For example, a plot that envelops the entire city in sub-arctic temperatures, will find that the cold isn't as bad as it should be, and survivable.

4:Remnant. Please remember when doing any plots or large events, that even though it has it's own thread, Remnant (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211872), the Inside Police Force and Army, is located in Inside, and may respond to events, or may be asked to respond to them. More information on them will be provided later.

4:All Inside-Wide/Nexus-Wide plots need to be brought up in OOC first! We all want to have the entire city be cast into a frozen wasteland from time to time, but such things need to be brought up in OOC first, to allow players plenty of warning, and so people don't feel like anything is being forced upon them that they don't want to RP.

5:Inside is not Space! Anything involving massive spaceships, meteors, satellites, Lasers From Space, and the like, do not belong in this thread. Few PCs have the ability to fight off an orbital bombardment, so it is considered unfair to be able to call down such things inside Inside. It can be assumed that the Doom Shield prevents such things from occurring. The place for these sorts of things should be in Outside, or another thread all together.

Zones, Streets, and Locations

Please PM Rebonack to have a new location placed in this registry.

Zones:

In the Zone(s): The City of Inside is separated into three socioeconomic zones color-coded for your convenience.

The Blue Zone is upper-class, well to do portions of Inside.

The Grey Zone is the portion of the City that is middle-class. It also includes many commercial and industrial portions of the City.

The Red Zone is the of the City that is degenerate, destitute, or downright dangerous. Sometimes all of the above.

Streets:

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Generic Street? The City of Inside also has a number of Streets. The Streets aren't a street in the literal sense, but rather portions of the City with a particular theme. While one can find anything anywhere in the City there are none the less areas were certain settings predominate.

If you have an idea for a Street feel free to suggest it in the OOC thread.

Known Streets:

Generic Street: The generically modern setting! Generic Street is perhaps the most plastic of the Streets, displaying a decent mix of all settings, though modern predominates. Generally speaking most locations without a Street name will be found here. The most commonly seen locations here are the Streets and the Slums. Occasionally The Rooftops if someone is feeling daring.

Arkham Street: Spanning 1920s-1940s style sci-fi and horror, Arkham Street is home of such spooky locations as Philip Memorial Library, the haunted Carter House, and Dunwich Park. The more upscale portion of Arkham Street is known as Metropolis Square, a metropolitan area sporting Diesel Punk style robots and rayguns and mad scientists oh my!

Cirrus Street: Cirrus Street is the FUTURE! sci-fi portion of Inside. Most commonly seen are the post-apocalyptic Bombed Out Zone with its never-ending zombie vs Martian vs killbot vs mutant war and the hopeless squalor of the Underhive. In addition to these areas there's also the chrome and glass clad Skyway. Think Jetsons with more foot-paths. Repulser Trams connect the Skyway to other portions of Inside for those not blessed with flying cars.

Market Street: Market Street is the ye olde portion of Inside, complete with bards, fools, open market places, and the occasional damsel in distress. While products of any age can be found in the sprawling street booths everything is done ye olde style-e. If you need a chase scene to crash through a fruit-cart this is the place to do it.

Yellow Dog

At the edge of the city of Inside, a unique street marks the border between the wilderness and the world of men. Two rows of wooden buildings stare at one another from across the sides of a dusty, unpaved street. The dark brown wood is bare, held in place with rough nails, only the occasional brightly painted sign relieving the earth tone monotony. This street is called Yellow Dog, and it is a little mining town right out of the Old West.

Well, not quite right out of the Old West. You see, anything and anyone that has even a little to do with the West comes to Yellow Dog. It doesn't matter what kind of West you're from; a Fantasy West with dragons and demons, a Steampunk West with stompy mechs powered by cloud benching coal furnaces, a Samurai West were a man's sword is as trusted as his six-gun, a post apocalyptic or futuristic West were revolvers come in laser form and the horses are robots; heck, even folks from just the plain old regular West are welcome here, and they don't mind strangers round these parts. This is a place were a gaggle of fur trappers and buffalo hunters haggle with a squid faced merchant about the worth of their haul. This is a street where dwarf and gnome gold miners walk into town, comparing the size of the nuggets they've panned from the rivers as they head towards the saloon. This is a place where you can pass a man dressed like a Union Cavalry Officer talking with a robot cowboy on a steel horse. You can walk down the way and pass a mysterious man who greets you with a "Konnichiwa, pardner.", as his samurai sword rattles lightly against his holstered pistol. Gunslingers, cowpokes, gamblers, bandits, prospectors, pioneers, profiteers, preachers, snake oil salesmen, trappers, hunters, townsfolk, wildmen, and things much weirder all mingle along this dusty lane.

Welcome to Yellow Dog, pilgrim. Enjoy your stay.

Locations:
Azik's Enchantments(Player: Harnel, Grey Zone)

Those in the area will hear a rumbling as the Nexus begins pulling in something larger than just a single person. Reality bends, and the shape of portal opens above a certain street corner. For a sickening moment, nothing happens, but then things start coming out of the portal - all of them are bricks, building up finally to a door and a roof, with tiny windows built in. There's even a large chimney sticking out of the center of this strange, conical building that begins puffing rainbow smoke almost immediately.

A creature steps out the front door, though many wouldn't consider it a creature - He is a warforged, a living golem. Covered in what appears to be adamantine plates, he looks up and down the street, his longcoat catching in the breeze. as it flutters, one can see a multitude of wands, schema, and scrolls all attached to several belts around his waist and upper legs. On his eyes he wears a pair of blue tinted shades, despite his lack of ears, and the metal orbs that serve as his eyes glow green behind these spectacles. He looks up and down the street. He doesn't seem to be particularly disturbed by the change in location, but he does take the time to call out, in a metallic voice:

"Azik's Enchantments is open for business! Come find a potion, a wand, a scroll to fit any need! We have spellbooks for beginners and experts! Weapons of all shapes and sizes, and armor unlike anything you've ever seen! Come find what you're looking for here!"

And then he heads back inside. So much work, so little time. Inside is as strange as outside, with magic trinkets lining the walls on shelves, but all behind the counter, to keep any stupid kid with the idea to steal something from doing so. You can find just about anything magical here, and that which you can't find, Azik the Warforged can make within a more than reasonable timeframe.

Emergency Bunkers

Eight bunker-like structures in a ring-like arrangement at about the midpoint between the walls (or the docks) and the center of the city have been completed.

The interior of each is rather dull, rather befitting a bunker, but there are underground areas beneath the visible bunkers. These are similarly dull and military-styled, but they also act as hospitals.

These are mostly designed with emergencies such as shelling in mind, and are usually closed.

Emergency Clinics
Like the bunkers the clinics are spread through-out the City and are equipped with technology akin to a modern emergency room. Since there's no magical healing available the speed of recovery is going to be noticeably lower than what is available at one of Inside's many temples. However their availability makes them absolutely vital in the application of life-saving care.

Erin's Emporium (Player: The Bushranger, Grey Zone)

Construction Gnomes have been hard at work renovating a small store along one of the various merchantile roads. Well, it was small. Now it's bigger on the inside.

And filled with every sort of weaponry imaginable, from across the multiverse. From blaster carbines to P-90s, surface-to-air missiles to ballistas, zats to nunchucks, they're all here.

Is that a siege crossbow sitting in the corner?

Evolution Industries Headquarters + Factories (Player: Darkcomet, Blue Zone)
The headquarters of the company known as Evolution Electronics and Power is a fairly standard-looking modern-day tower in appearance, not quite reaching the level of skyscraper.

The company owns a large factory nearby, used in production of its MACE units, and potentially other products, should it be desired.

The company also possesses a number of other factories around the city, used for production of weaponry and other military materiel.

Retail outlets for Evolution's products are scattered around the city.

Finders Keepers (Player: Reinholdt)

[Gray Zone]

Sitting right near the edge of the Red Zone, a new shop has opened up. It's a basic looking office, part of a larger building. Out front is a sign,

FINDERS KEEPERS*
We find missing people, kidnapees, deadtime victims and more.

*And no we don't actually keep them. It's just a name.

Inside, is a secretary typing away at a typewriter. She directs customers to wait until their turn, at which point she sends them back to meet the shop owner, one Heinrik Hurtz. He is most clearly not related to any superheroes whatsoever. This is a fact in and of itself, proven clearly by the fact that Heinrik wears glasses.

http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq276/Reinholdt9000/Gaia/HeinrikHurtz.png

Hastings and Sons Mortuary (player: Kid Kris, Grey Zone)
Near one of the older parts of the city sits a large and somewhat dour building of brick and mortar, built in the traditional sense, with a metal plaque by the door that reads (predictably enough):

Hastings and Sons
MORTUARY
For the preparation of the dearly departed.
And indeed, should one go in one should find all the trappings of a conventional mortuary, including several large visitation rooms, run by this guy:

http://public5.tektek.org/img/av/1008/d05/2213/715a669.png (http://tektek.org/avatar/38746382)
Though of course, usually without the zombie there.
In recent times however, the true business of the resident Mortician has branched into a more heretical bent, offering certain services to the living impaired (more commonly known as the foul Undead). These start at simple healings and flesh grafts (the flesh occasionally obtained 'legitimately', when a body comes in for cremation and the Mortician gives them an urn full of wood-ash, but usually corpses are obtained through donations from customers or good old fashioned grave-robbing). But services can also range into body part replacement and augmentation for the undead who wishes his creator had seen fight to give him a giant lobster claw or retractable venomous spines, or even full body/flesh reconstruction for the self-conscious lich (or lich in disguise, though making your new flesh look like someone else usually costs extra) or the zombie in his golden years. These customers usually come in through the back door, where there is a plaque listing the full list of services. Though of course some are brazen enough to come through the front door anyway.

((PM if you wish to interact with the Mortician, as Kid Kris may not always check the thread.))

MagMart (Player: Lord Magtok, Blue Zone)
An absurd mash-up of K-Mart, Wall-Mart, Target, and every other vile retail chain, MagMart is staffed by an unswervingly loyal Magbots, lobotomized talking cats that are too brain-dead to know any better, several voodoo spirits, and a pickle jar that everyone insists is a sentient being that only communes with those who truly believe in it.

Here you can find everything from curtains to carpets, macaroni to monkeys on motorcycles, groceries to zombies. The staff is always happy to help (or else), and if you aren't entirely satisfied with your shopping experience, you can pay a small fee to watch the MagMart employee of your choosing get fired out the MagMart complimentary employee morale cannon.

Magnificus Theater (Red Zone)
This large theater is an attempt to bring culture to the city of the Inside. Plays are regularly show here, and if desired other events can be held here.

The walls of the theater are colored with three shades of blue in a wave pattern. Inside the theater are a pair of grand staircases, with the railing colored gold, while the stone of the stairs is white. The stage itself is one of the largest in the Nexus, carefully designed for the greatest enjoyment.

Rules: Please, no violence. If you must have some violent action in a theater, pm me first.

Sable Spire (Blue Zone)
A great, black-colored tower now stands at the highest point of the Skyway. Appearing mostly similar to a modern-day skyscraper, albeit more futuristic, reinforced, and armored. Upon close examination, some parts of the tower appear to conceal compartments of some sort, likely something along the lines of concealed defensive turrets. the top portion of the tower is rather different in appearance.

It appears as a truly massive hatch, similar to what one might see over a missile silo under normal circumstances.

This hatch opens into the landing area of the aerial aircraft carrier Sanctuary, the main asset of the Altaran Irregulars. Said landing area is set to act as an elevator, capable of moving up to the top of the tower or moving back down to conceal whatever is landed (usually the aforementioned carrier) under the heavily armored hatch.

The Spire, constructed by Remnant in an alliance with the Altaran Irregulars, is now a major base for the the latter, who currently act alongside Remnant in protecting the city. Their troops largely use the same equipment as Remnant's, but use the old Imperial black-and-navy color scheme to distinguish themselves.

The Misspelled Cemetary (Grey Zone)
It's the rain that makes for the perfect atmosphere.

Since the party left the well lit cobbles lanes of the Market Streets the sky has opened up upon our intrepid band of adventurers with a vengeance. The wind howls through barren trees as the rain descends in sheets. The heavens are split by a ribbon of lightning and a roar of thunder.

A massive cast iron gate surrounds this place of once hallowed ground. Yes, hallowed once but no longer. The earth appears dead. Rotten. A phosphorescent green fog creeping along the ground. Misshapen fungus and molds clinging to crumbling monuments. Corpses exposed on the surface, half-eaten with decay.

The gate creeks open of its own accord as the party nears.

And above the gate, in rusted iron letters, reads:

The Misspelled Cemetary

Needle and Thread (Blue Zone, Player: Artemis97)
On one side of a wide cobblestoned street is a small shop. The sign hanging over the door depicts a simple spool of thread, pierced by a needle. No words were included, as a courtesy to those who could not read, nor were they needed. It was clear from the merchandise displayed in the two large windows on either side of the door that this was a clothing boutique. The right side displayed the latest in women's fashions, dresses and skirts in unique designs, all detailed by hand with beading and embroidery. The left window showed men's clothing, from a beautifully tailored three piece suit, cut from expensive fabrics, to the very best in adventuring style, rugged and sturdy, clearly built to last.

Inside, racks and manequins display more clothing, split down the middle between men's and women's fashions. The back wall held rolls of fabric, some plain, others with obviously magical properties. A large, three-sided mirror sits in the back corner, next to a small changing stall. On the other side is a small counter holding a cash register, behind that the door that led to a small workroom.

The Needle and Thread is a clothing shop specializing in custom tailoring and specialty designs. It is owned and operated by Lillith Rock, and the kindly fiendish woman can usually be found behind the counter, or working on orders in the back workroom.

Pontius' Custom Constructs (Player: Earl of Purple, Grey Zone)
The caravan of 6 wagons (I never said 3! Well, I did, but still.) arrives at a warehouse, previously for sale. The gnomes lead the golems and other constructs inside, and get to work. The warehouse has an open yard at the main entrance, and several golems, like crude figures of worked stone or wood, stand in the yard. A gnome wearing an apron over smart-yet-practical artesan's clothes and puts a sign up.

Sanctuary Fortress of Zoemaytare (Player: Rebonack, Red Zone)

Like so many other prominent buildings in Town, or not so prominent buildings for that matter, this place seemed to pop up out of nowhere over night.

Buildings are like mushrooms in Town. Probably spread via spores, too.

Regardless, here it is. A rather sizable campus marble hewn from the mountains some distance away. Carved and hauled here near the edge of the slums where they were no doubt assembled. Though... no one can quite place a finger on when this happened.

Though the buildings aren't of only cold hard stone, no. There are timbers as well. Not what one might expect, however. They seem almost organic. As though they had grown into place rather than being hewn.

Oddness aside, the temple is arranged in a rather interesting fashion. Several concentric wall and courtyards ending in a central temple.

The outer wall is lower than the rest, each tier of the temple built onto higher ground like a wedding cake. Each wall is topped with a roof supported on the inside by pillars, creating a sheltered walkway. The exact use of these porches depends on the section of the temple one happens to be in.

Anyone is allowed entry through the first wall and into the first court, the Court of Meeting. Beyond the second wall only worshipers of Zoemaytare are allowed admittance to the second court, the Court of the Blessed. Beyond the third wall only the priests are allowed, where they carry out holy rituals within the temple itself.

The Court of Meeting is dedicated to service of those the worshipers of Zoemaytare dwell among. Food is prepared for the hungry here and given out without expectation of recompense. Those without a place to lay their head are allowed to sleep within the porch. The grounds beyond the porch are devoted to a wondrous garden boasting vibrancy and spectacular color. This are is always comfortably warm and brimming with life. Wounds heal faster as the body is refreshed. Undead creatures will find that remaining here is decidedly uncomfortable.

The sky above the temple seems to be perpetually clear, filled with pleasant sunlight in the day and cloaked with gossamer stars at night. Benches are set up here and there, under trees with hanging branches and above fragrant shrubbery. A lively stream flows endlessly in a circuit about the Court, spilling into several larger pools and meandering up a small outcrop of stone before cascading back down the other side.

This section of the temple is tended by members of the faith. Not priests, though devote. They can be found tending the garden and serving warm food. When in service to the temple these devotees wear a white linen ephod bearing the symbol of a willow tree, ornately rendered in blue thread. They'll be more than happen to answer any questions. Priests tend to have stricter ceremonial garb, including a blue tunic and white robe in addition to the ephod.

Welcome, traveler. May you be more blessed when you leave than when you came.

New information that isn't readily noticeable at first glance at the temple will be added here.

The temple grounds are protected by a dampening field that blocks unauthorized teleporation and dimensional shifting. The place is something of a fortress after all. Being able to pop in and out at will would defeat the purpose.

Zoemaytare isn't a god of (fill in the black) but rather the patron and protector of her people. As such, her domain, if she even has one, is over all that her people do. The people in question are collectively known as the Zoeos, and this particular temple is their first major venture into Town. At present their stated goal is to set up trade relations and aid the city. This is ministered through the temple on account of the Zoeos government being a theocracy.

It just so happens that there's a dungeon under the temple, though the entrance to it is well hidden.

NPCs thus far:

Potentate of the temple: the head priest and administrator. He has yet to be seen 'on screen' though he has been referred to.

Regent Zachius: And elderly human with a coppery complexion and deep-set wrinkles, the sort of face one expects of a person who has spent a great deal of time in the sun smiling. He's a kind old fellow who is in charge of the Court of Meeting.

Regent Stephen: A younger human who smells rather distinctly of wolf. He's in charge of the dungeons of the temple and seems to be a rather caring and compassionate fellow. It's his job to bring the cases of prisoners before the Potentate.

Regent Thadeus: One of the priests who aids in minor upkeep in the temple proper. He usually isn't seen outside the temple and since his position doesn't put him in much contact with the common folk he tends to be somewhat aloof and judgmental. Also happens to be an elf. Those snooty elves!

Bognus Thundershield: a lay dwarf that operates the temple's teleporter, primarily from Trog's. Though people can be 'ported in from elsewhere as well. While it isn't commonly known, this device can send people over rather long distances, though it's somewhat inaccurate when doing so. Bognus is a bit gruff, though generally good natured. He speaks with a thick Scottish Dwarven accent.

St. Guinevere's Sanatorium for Lunatics and Object Seekers (Player: Anyone, Gray Zone)
This insane asylum exists for people questing after Objects from the Holders Mythos. Anyone can run an Object quest, but please look at the community agreed guidelines first (http://tinyurl.com/5w42x5c) as it helps keep things consistent.

If you want to use the Sanatorium for other uses, feel free, but expect it to be a house of unspeakable horrors. :smalltongue:

The Sitar's Strings
"By humans, for humans". This restaurant employees only humans and only serves human customers. It is a meeting place for the human supremacist movement. IC Owned by Brian Starling and managed by Jan Lamar. Non-humans with good disguises can get in without being challenged.

Players: (HT as owner/manager, C'nor as waitress Maeve, Mindfreak as entertainer Treb)

The Temple of Dalachrech (Player: Earl of Purple, Grey Zone)
The first room entered is a foyer. On the walls are red drapes with silver, two-tailed scorpions embroidered on to them, and next to the door is an ornate font. The granite font stands about waist height, and is a plinth with a bowl of unholy water. Winding around the font are carved centipedes. A door away from this chamber leads to the main prayer hall. This room also has drapes with the two-tailed scorpion device on the walls, and a red velvet carpet flanked by wooden pews leads to an altar at the far end. The altar is covered with red velvet, with a gold statue and red candles placed upon it. The statue depicts a demon with a centipede's body, a scorpion's tail with spinnerets next to the sting, a stag beetle's head and the claws of a praying mantis.

This is a hidden location in the Grey Zone. Please PM Earl of Purple if you wish to interract there. The Temple is now open to the public.

Trollfinger, Ironpick & Greencheek, Mining & Engineering (Player: Morty, Blue Zone)
A run-down building near Trog's Tavern was bought by three goblin enterpreneurs with a large crew and now houses their mining and engineering company. Everyone who needs something dug, built, repaired or blown up is welcome.

Warwick Works (player: happyturtle, Grey Zone)
In the industrial area, a building is rented and has a new sign put out front.

W
Warwick Works

The building itself consists of a small office area in front and warehouses in back. There is no indication of what sort of business this is, but a certain cyborg with a satellite might recognize the logo and name.

Witch Which's Wish Shop (Grey, Player: Haruki-kun)

Welcome. If you have stepped into this store, it is because you have a wish.

The store is big, ancient and beautiful. It has a large garden with colorful flowers, a pond with fish and running water, and chirping birds. This is the outside of the store. The inside, however, is, to put it simply, gloomy. There’s burning candles and incense everywhere. From the hall where you enter you are led off into a side room with a low table and cushions around it. A tall, masked and unnamed stranger brings tea and snacks to the guests. The Witch sits opposite and rarely ever moves.

RULES (OOC):
This is a Wish shop. Your character will only enter this shop if he has a wish. Whether the wish is granted or not is a different issue.
Witch Which is in charge of the shop and will grant wishes to everyone who asks, regardless of intent or alignment, as long as the appropriate price is paid. Under certain conditions:

Condition one: Witch Which will not haggle. She couldn’t lower a price or overcharge even if she wanted to. A balance must be kept in order for the wish to be granted.

Condition two: When a Wish directly affects another player’s character in a way that would be considered godmodding, the other player must agree first.

Condition three: The Witch may not reject any wish unless the price is too high to be paid. Wishes to take a life or to destroy the world, for example, carry a price higher than anyone can pay. ANYONE.

Condition Four: The Witch will never engage in battle. Be glad. The Witch is the very definition of True Neutral.

Condition Five: The store is not hard to access; in fact, there’s a big sign outside and everything. However, the store’s grounds exist in a special separate dimension, protecting it from anything that could destroy it, up to and including plot.

Condition Six: Haruki-kun reserves the right to alter the conditions if he feels they’re causing problems such as godmodding or similar issues.

(Haruki-Kun wishes for a PM to be sent to him upon someone entering the shop so he knows about it.)

Inside's Defenses, Remnant, and The Council

Defenses

As stated above, the city of Inside is defended by the Walls, Moat and DOOM-Shield, but it is also defended by a more "mundane" force field that can be called upon in times of need, as well as a number of more conventional defensive capabilities, nearly all of which are manned and controlled by Remnant(Controlled for the most part by Wolfbane). These include things from Emergency Bunkers, Relief Stations, Anti-Aircraft Cannon, and the like.

Remnant

As stated before, Remnant is Inside's police force, army, and main defensive body. It is made up of the remains of what was once the Acronymian Empire, and consists of hundreds of men, women, and machines, both soldier and civilian, sacrificing their daily lives and time to make sure the city of Inside is relatively safe for it's citizens. There are Remnant Outposts all throughout the city, with the main HQ in Blue Zone, and less Outposts in Red Zone. These can be reached fairly easily, and allow people to report crimes, turn in criminals, collect bounties, and even ask to be recruited. Remnant controls most of Inside's defenses, but also controls Rapid Response Units capable of stopping fires, providing emergency medical aide, and even disaster relief to clean up debris and fix buildings and roads damaged by the day to day events of Inside.

Squads of Remnants patrol the streets "every so often" and should anyone need one, can interact with them(Please PM Wolfbane upon doing so, however).

As a note, Low-Level Remnants can be Godmodded! They can be assumed to fight the fires that pop up, but can also be asked to provide basic information. This also means that they can be bribed for less well-known information such as someone's name and rank, or to look the other way for a small crime, such as theft. Anything more, please PM Wolfbane to let him know, in case there is something that needs clarified. The Remnants can be godmodded to be killed on occasion, but if it happens too fast, too often, Wolfbane may step in and RP it out. Once again, please PM Wolfbane if you plan on killing a Remnant NPC.

What is NOT Godmoddable:

-Getting Security Codes
-Accessing Secure Areas
-Killing off more than one or two NPCs at a time, or killing a Named Remnant NPC/PC
-Stealing Identities
-Destroying Remnant facilities

It is not impossible for these to happen, but with proper warning provided to Wolfbane, it can be RP'd out and attempted. However, it should be noted that only Low-Ranking Remnants can be Godmodded in this way.

Council

The Council (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195380) is the "ruling" body of Inside. A small group of individuals reside on it, and decide Inside Policy. People can go here for diplomatic relations, trials, or other activities that may concern dealing with an actual government instead of a police force or army.

Junkyard of the Forgotten

"****, they've choked off the window! We'll have to...the door! Get to the door, Roosevelt."

"Commander, I don't think that we'll have time to-"

Oh look, it's Needs! He's finally caught up again! Is...is he riding Kate's pod like a giant flying horse carriage thing, barreling his way through the monastery like some sort of horrible alien rocket thing? Is that seriously what's happening right now?

"WEEEEEE! EVERYBODY OUT OF THE GODDAMNED WAY! I'VE GOT A FIST FULL OF MAGIC, A HEAD FULL OF EMPTY, AND A POD FULL OF PEOPLE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

He's not slowing down. He's...he's not even slowing down a little, or trying to turn or anything. Oh crap, he's going to charge right at that wall and try to smash a hole right through it, isn't he? He is! Aaaaagh! Dive out of the way and take cover! If it works, follow him out through the gaping hole before something collapses!

Kabam! Two crashes at once. The first is the pod smashing through the wall and flying out of the monastery, and the other is the back wall of the chapel collapsing as something big and angry pushes its way through. Out the hole in the wall is a good idea.

Outside, the monastery looks like it is alive as a multitude of minimags crawls down its outer walls, scattering into the refuse landscape. The monastery quakes as whatever is pursuing them pushes its way through the chapel, crashing through support arcs and walls with a reckless and single minded abandon.

A1-66 is not angry that she has been stolen. He is not upset that his plans have fallen through. No, this is only a setback. He simply needs to start again. He has the time. There are other backups of the Mistress to access and copy. However, he will need to reset this failure of his plan to its zero state. An easy enough task. He has plenty of firepower. Besides, the monastery was growing old anyways. He begins to leisurely arm his weapons systems as he tears through another support arch, taking aim at the wall ahead of him.

Oh, a third explosion. This time from some sort of plasma weapon, judging from how the stonework is melting. Something looms on the other side of the hole. A glint of red light sparks in the smoke. Running might be a good idea at this point.

[Red Zone]

Ace might occasionally hear very quick footsteps, or an argle argle noise as he makes his way through the alleyway. Whatever these creatures might be, they're watching him.

Red Zone

Ace isn't the only person looking into the missing people of the Red Zone. Another person is too. The person in question is an elderly lady. She's wearing a floral dress and a white woollen waistcoat. She has red handbag on her shoulder and she's carrying a stout wooden shaft attached, via a heavy-duty chain, to a large steel ball studded with iron. Mrs. Bloodplunder has attempted hiding the flail in her handbag, so it bulges oddly and half of the shaft sticks out. She's a pure-blooded human, although her son is half-orc.

Ace thumbs his deck of cards, creating a snapping-whirring sound as the plasticized paper flicks in place. He makes his way from alleyway to dirty alleyway, standing tall even as his gaze darts from shadow to shadow.

When he hears the sound of footsteps, Ace hurries to catch up to them. Turning the corner, he pauses in a moment of startled confusion when he sees Mrs. Bloodplunder.
A granny with a flail in her purse.
Okay. Sure.
He'd seen weirder things in this city.

"Excuse me, ma'am," he says before approaching, not wanting to startle her. "Have you seen anything unusual?"

Victoria continues her turn, hoping to either break the engines completely or force them into reverse to slow the ship further.

The engines' roar grows even louder as they strain ever harder to track Victoria's motion. Certain parts begin to glow a dull cherry-red as the engines and supports begin to heat up. One engine begins to rattle as it strains against its mast, shaking in dangerous circles that grow ever wider. It might come flying off, soon.
Meanwhile, what remains of the ship is becoming less and less ship-shaped with every passing moment. It's forward slide slows to a crawl, and then stops entirely. The smouldering hunk of metal sits at the end of a deep, muddy gouge. Anyone attempting to touch it will probably get burned quite badly.
The screams coming from inside have stopped, at least.

Once the ship stops moving, the Doctor staggers to a halt. Still carrying Amil over his shoulders and panting for breath, he turns to stare at the wreckage.
Well then.
That certainly was a thing.
And, oh look. There's another injured girl over there. In a tree, this time. Good choice, reflects the Doctor. Trees were nice.

Gently setting Amil down, the Doctor takes a few steps towards Copi to examine her from a distance. She was bleeding some sort of weird gel. He didn't want to touch it quite yet.

The TARDIS

The TARDIS

The Captain hisses in pain and draws his mangled hand back, dropping the useless weapon. "Why does everything have to explode?" So inefficient.

Still, with that obstacle dealt with, he moves on to the console to get this TARDIS up and moving. Though he is considerably slowed at this point with his hand being as it is.

Probably because you stabbed it while it was collecting energy, Mr. Captain. Not the best idea.

The console is in quite bad shape. Does the Doctor even have any idea what he's doing? Many interfaces are badly damaged, barely working or replaced with entirely different devices. Wires and cords hang about hap-hazardly, with no concern towards tripping hazards. What would appear to be a large wooden mallet has been left laying on top of the console. He hasn't been trying to get the TARDIS to work by hitting it with a hammer, has he? :smalleek:

Or flying! Flying works too, right? The two MagClones jump at the pod, hoping to hitch a ride and maybe provide some covering fire as the flying pod person is sent zooming through the air back the way the team came in. HazMag's a decent enough shot with his rifle, and Roosevelt could probably, I dunno, throw a really big rock at the thing they're running from, maybe. The important thing is that running isn't very efficient in this setting with all the trash everywhere though, not fighting back.

A flash of blinding light obscures the Teleporter and one of it's minions, and when the light fades, left in it's wake is the Hyper Psychic Blaster. But that ain't all. Oh no, it ain't. HazMag passes Roosevelt his pistol, and then proceeds to unload with his MagService rifle. The two work in tandem to try to take down anything that looks like it might be capable of taking damage from such wimpy, lame-ass mundane weaponry. Missiles that need to be prematurely detonated before they can reach the pod, eyes that might be guiding its weapon, anything.

Meanwhile, Needs Food Badly takes the cables he'd been using to pretend to be a horse-drawn carriage driver, and instead puts the thing in his mouth, gritting his teeth as he leaps off of the pod, striking a Superman-esque pose as he opts to be the horse, and pull the pod himself with freaky eldritch magic stuff, instead of the slightly slower telekinetic route he'd been taking a moment ago.

A few of the shots manage to damage a missile, downing it in a heap of garbage. One of them explodes, taking out several around it. A third spirals off course, hitting a hill of discarded C-4 from about a million unfinished heist stories that never got off the ground. As they near the portal back, the hill detonates, sending up a mushroom cloud. The shock wave ripples across the landscape, hitting the pod and sending it tumbling. And suddenly they are under the hole back home. It is rapidly evaporating even as they enter it.

Needs finds himself jerked to a stop and might lose a tooth or two. Where there had been a hole in the universe is now plain old soil. The cables run down into the ground. Looks like he is the only one to make it through. Sort of. The others are there, just buried as the portal collapsed back into being earth and rocks. Miss Kale will probably be fine in her pod, but Haz and Roose might not be so well off. Not unless they can breath dirt.

***

A1-66 stops firing the moment the portal closes. There is no point wasting ammunition. The explosive hill was unforeseen. He sends out a signal to the scattered minimangs. They need to rebuild.

For a moment he is unsure how to proceed. He cannot protect Miss Kale while she is alive, and he cannot preserve her properly if she is not dead. He ponders the situation. For now, he will wait again. She will either survive or she won't. He has time. Plenty of it. He will rebuild and continue to plan.

Needs suddenly ceases being anything even remotely human. Worms, millipedes, spiders, rats, and all other manner of vermin fly out from his voluminous robes. He It stares at the ground, and it immediately begins rotting away, as if being eaten by some unseen acid. Everything within that occult circle that Needs drew begins falling apart, swiftly clearing a hole in the ground for the pod and his squadmates. It might not be fast enough, though. Needs is doing the best he can without doing irreparable harm to reality itself, but maybe damaging reality and letting the squid people march into his brain was necessary this time. Only time can tell.

The Theater

There is a brief, terrifying, maddening second that Teq thinks it's finally over. Those cannons are going to eat him alive. And he'd deserve it, too. But, further bolstering his belief that Fate is on his side, Demon Queen explodes onto the scene. The Queen takes down not one, but both of the mech suits, scarcely allowing the first to gain his feet before she falls upon the second.

Unfortunately for the (other) mass murderers, Teq has not been crouching idly by. His hands move independently, detaching two separate parts from his belt and linking them together. The resulting weapon looks almost organic - it's short, almost a pistol, lined along the barrel by insectoid ridges that pulse and glow with a soft golden light. This, he levels at the oncoming projectile.

A terrifying howl issues from the weapon, and shrieking like a throng of damned souls, a blast of pure psionic energy is unleashed. With the sanctified Hatred of a thousand screaming zealots, this energy turns the flying metal shield to dust. It splashes across Teq, coloring his visor with what used to be refined minerals, but he doesn't notice in the least.

Without missing a beat, this weapon is turned on the unoccupied trooper, and a second shot is fired. If he can, he'll slag the thing's arm, severing it at the joint in a shower of sparks and Hate.

Theater Plot

A satisfied grin comes to Demon Queen's face as she hears the crunching sound when the suit tipped over. Lucky for her they went down easy. She turns her body to face the second suit and preps herself to repeat the move. That's when she hears the rocket boosters from the second suit kick on. Her eyes dart to that suit for a moment, then back to the second suit in time to see it aiming for her.

She swears again and runs, trying to get into a position that lets the first guy block the shots.

Unfortunately for her, guns tend to be faster than people. The back of her calf gets hit with a couple rounds. They all grazed, but even so, it's a mini-gun. She falls down on her intended target, crying out in pain. At least she got the first suit blocking the second for her.

At this point, those who are sensitive to such things may feel a surge of demonic energy from her as the demon bound to the stone embedded in her chest starts to take over. It doesn't want her to die, because then it would die. As such, her form starts changing. The wounds close during this process. In a matter of a moment or two, instead of Demon Queen, there now stands a creature that resembles a tiger-like cat in shape and stance, but entirely covered in black, leathery scales. And also possessing Demon Queens head, with the scaly addition. Her eyes are still red, but now with slits for pupils, and her mouth has changed enough to accommodate fangs.

Demon Queen gives a growl, then leaps at the first guy, seeking to test how strong their suits really are. Her claws can tear through cement and stone, and with enough force, can even cut steel. Anything that is stronger than steel will be hard for her to cut, but given enough time and energy, she could do it.

[Theater Plot]

[Teq and Demon Queen]

[Teq]

Oh good gods! What in tarnation is that! Its energy readings are off the charts! :smalleek: Here is comes! Hit the deck!

Bzow!

EXP get!

The mech's arm disintegrates into a cloud of twinkling dust! Don't inhale those shards! The fine metal powder could do a number on one's respiratory system!

The mech staggers backwards, its arm popping and zapping... Well, the juncture where its arm would have been hinged, that is.

A ripple of electric current pulses across the shell of the armor. The operator's HUD is flickering on and off, vibrating unstably. I'll hazard a guess that the gat gun arm was blown to bits and the arm with manifold possibilities but that is infinitely less threatening wasn't the object of the Teq's heavy demolition weaponry's blast!

Teq is immediately marked as a Heavy Weapons Guy armed with a "Beam Cannon" via the HUDs and onboard computer banks of the powered suits of armor. A priority target! He is to be eliminated with extreme prejudice before Demon Queen. Ranking up isn't always a good thing!

But, until the controller of the nearly totaled mech reroutes the flow of power through his suit, he won't be able to engage Teq or Demon Queen with any weapons system.

[Demon Queen]

Demon Queen is marked in much the same manner as Teq. She's labeled "Psychic - Mutant" on the HUDs of all functioning powered armor suits. Priority target number 2. Second on the hit list of the mob bots.

Demon Queen, depending on her approach to pouncing on the armed powersuit (hee!) may be met with a shock! Quite literally, in fact! High-voltage shocker shields online! Hopefully, if this scenario does transpire, and it is liable to, she'll take down the robot without the "necessity" of having to push through a muscle spasm while doing so. If she resists the electrical deterrent, the mech will thrash wildly for a time before attempting to bash her off of it with its shield arm. The outer layer of the suit is composed of plates of boron carbide. This outer layer is welded to an inner titanium frame. Whether or not Demon Queen can crack the mech's driver's pod open to gain access to the soft nut piloting the metal gear wannabe under these conditions within is left completely up to you!

[Theater Plot]

Well Fade shows near no reaction. Maybe he is stunned. It's good that The circle still works to absorb the flames. Fade is indeed stunned by the grenade, but his shadow self keeps the magic up for now.

[Theater Plawt]

Jane moves out of the vision of the two units so she can pat out the flames on her arm. She wishes she'd brought her cloak augs as she jumps up the wall and jabs her spear into the wall as a foothold. She pulls out yet another weapon from beneath her cloak - an extendable crossbow, which she loads with an odd-looking bolt. She takes aim and fires at one of the mechs. If she hits, it should course electricity through the mech.

[Punch and Judy Fade and Jane]

[Fade]

It's clobberin' time! Hold still, Fade! This won't hurt a bit!

It'll hurt a whole lot! If it connects, that is!

The mech that hasn't been tasked with fighting off Jane attempts to step up to Fade and knock him aside with a strong sweep of its flamethrower arm! It is a rookie's mistake to underestimate an opponent in the heat of battle! This operator is more concerned with class and style than impaling Zefir on the tip of his blade, which he had a perfect opportunity to attempt but he didn't. Fade's lucky that this pilot is an inexperienced kid, or he'd have tried to finish him right then and there. He might've succeeded too!

Maybe...

[Jane]

And just like that, Jane disappears from the mechs' field of vision hence scope. The mechs don't have a super-sonic turning ratio of which to speak. While the mechs can track Jane movements, they can't align their weapons with her quickly enough to flame-broil her before her electric pulse arrow hits Jane's foe.

Zap!

The mech suffers minor elemental damage! Tips and tricks of the war-mongering trade, always install surge protectors! Yessir! Surge protectors save money in the long run!

The damage isn't very pronounced on the legs or pod of the mech. The sword arm gets off the hook unscathed too.

But the flamethrower arm...

Might've been a smart idea not to leave any circuitry, insulated or not, exposed like that...

Cue malfunctioning flamethrower!

Whoosh! Whoosh!

One flamer unit is now firing of its own volition, weakening the structural integrity of the stage upon which the mech is positioned by burning it to cinders. The operator rashly thwacks the device with his sword arm, deactivating it temporarily through a "prudent", timed reboot.

In doing this, he damages the flamethrower. One of its black fueling tubes is now barely exposed.

Shrike

Doom! Have another plate of DOOM!

These guards are no ordinary guards. They're god-killing apocalypse-grade SUPER!guards. Well, that's not entirely true, but they are all active PCs of mine hailing from other regions of the Nexus! And they're here for the exact same reason Shrike and Demon Queen are.

Shrike's dagger will most likely be caught by the flat of the dagger's blade by the guard she flung it at. The guard winces as the electricity crackles through her body. Good thing she's grounded since she's wearing rubber-soled shoes!

Her reflexes are insane. That's a prerequisite for the completion of her personal objective.

She dropped her pistol, though. She's not much of a threat armed with a single throwing dagger, however perfectly weighted it may very well be.

"We're here to bury the Cultists of the Ivory Crow like the scum they are. Stand aside! Our quarrel is not with you!"

Zefir blinks a few times still offering the card.

"With offering his service I meant I pay for him so don't worry about the price. And i think if you don't plan to have the firework right now he will be able to inform the local authorities about the firework."

She may not trust him, but Zefir has no plan is doing anything harmful. After all he wants to stay at this place. Who cares about some money for a firework if he has to leave the Sitar's strings?

DMC

"20 Years? Wow that nearly your whole life right?" Assuming she looks like in her twenties if I remember right. otherwise she would say something more fitting.

"It's a shame we didn't met earlier."

MDM serves the tea, but as Mia spoke up he looks down on her reproachful. She isn't even 20 years old so meeting much earlier wasn't even possible.

[Theater Plot]

Well if he really thought of impaling Zefir he would impale thin air since Zefir the char isn't here and Zefir the player has the 4th wall as protection. It's funnyhow my chars jump in here and away.^^

Back to the theater. the blow hits. Well no wonder since he wasn't really able to move it's just good that it wasn't the sword that could have done quiet more damage. The blow hits him right into his face, but instead of falling/flying away Fade just slides a few feet to the opposite direction of the hit (So if the firearms was his left arm he slides to the right by the foce of the hit.) Fade's face smokes and that doesn't come from the hot punch. It comes from his own blood which just vaporize in contact with light souce of these levels.

The mech may notice that just befor his hit Fade's shadow has grown again filling nearly the whole wall bhind him. This way he saved himself from flying away. And now shaking off the stun grenade Fade rushes forward to grab the mech. If he manages to do so the mech might soon notice that it's not a wise choice. fade prooves to be very strong, even strong enougth to let the metal under hsi hands crack. Fade attemps to hoick of the arms from the mech making him ... unable to fight back. Well he attemps to should the robot proove more durable he will just throw him away exactly where Jane is.

You wonder why? she stunned him with her grenade, he doesn't know her ergo enemy.

Undoubtedly Missy's little request will get a hit immediately.

"Wish granted."
Princess Luna (http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/002/7/1/princess_luna__s_aurora_by_laurenmagpie-d4l40dm.jpg) descends.
Rather grim-faced, as she has been much this entire trip.

She had sent Rainbow Dash to begin the warning, while she confirmed Twilight's condition with Ibby and Rarity, with the full intent of appearing herself to fix the undoubtedly numerous holes that would exist in Dash's explanation.
If it could count as one.

Rainbow Dash does a quick sort of bow.

"Return to the...'metal monkey's cave. The others are there and I shall be along shortly. There is a plan in place."

"Now."

Rainbow Dash will be rather promptly exiting the scene, without further interrupting.

"I'm Staff Sergeant Halifax of Remnant. What is your plan?" Missy asks. Which is not the same thing as actually offering to help carry it out, but overall she's mildly inclined more towards trust than suspicion at this point.

Temple of Cunningham

A plot clone of Missy Halifax, in civilian clothes, slows as she walks past the temple, and then stops completely. She was raised as an Orthodox Arnaudin, and in religion, the heretic is often judged far more harshly than the heathen. But she's walked past this temple several times a week now, taking Jefferies to school, and she's starting to wonder if perhaps she should go in.

Finally she takes a few steps into the garden and sits on a bench by the meditation pool, biting her lip and feeling like an intruder.

As it happens, Sophie is there for her weekly visit. She comes to the Temple to meditate, pray and think about various problems in a quiet environment.

When she spots an unfamiliar person who just entered the premises, she approaches her. She's wearing a simple white shirt and sand-colored loose trousers.
"Welcome to the Temple of Cunningham. What brings you here?"

The Slums Once More

The slums once more

Reality abhors a vacuum. More than that, it abhors.... whatever Needs is doing to it. A hole is dug! A speedy hole. The team +1 has made it back in one piece! Well, except the +1, who was like that when they found her, so it doesn't really count.

Mission success.

Miss Kale is safely trapped inside her claustrophobic pod and unsure whether she wants to pound against the glass to be let out or not.

Upon recovering his teammates and the pod they were sent to recover, Needs Food Badly doesn't revert back to his normal state. Nope, not this time, folks. In fact, if anything, an aura of awfulness and terrible just grows even stronger about his person. He seems to ooze with every step, and be in several places at once, without occupying any more space than he usually does.

D̟̠̰̗I҉̰̞̦͚̯̣̤͡G̼̼̣͝!̩̱̳̳͕̭̝̟D̟̠̰̗I҉̰̞̦͚̯̣̤͡G̼̼̣͝! ̩̱̳̳͕̭̝̟D̟̠̰̗I҉̰̞̦͚̯̣̤͡G̼̼̣͝!̩̱̳̳͕̭̝̟

HazMag doesn't seem too rattled by it all, though. He orders Roosevelt to contact the MagCave and request a bulk delivery telewarp back, before striding right up to Needs, rifle in hand.

"Sorry Needs, this is for your own good!"

With that last syllable, he grunts and thrusts forward with the butt of his weapon, somehow hitting NFB right in the forehead, despite the fact that Needs was totally three feet to the left of where HazMag swung the thing. Our abomination of a wizard sways, his unearthliness abruptly fading away along with his consciousness, until Needs is just a silly little man in a splotched robe again, lying helplessly on the ground and drooling like an idiot.

"Gods, I hate when he does that ****."

Unless there's any further interruptions, the crew will be returning with Kale to the MagCave in a matter of minutes.

The TARDIS

Probably because you stabbed it while it was collecting energy, Mr. Captain. Not the best idea.

The console is in quite bad shape. Does the Doctor even have any idea what he's doing? Many interfaces are badly damaged, barely working or replaced with entirely different devices. Wires and cords hang about hap-hazardly, with no concern towards tripping hazards. What would appear to be a large wooden mallet has been left laying on top of the console. He hasn't been trying to get the TARDIS to work by hitting it with a hammer, has he? :smalleek:

[Park]

Victoria notices that an engine might break loose and swings back around to land in front of the ship. At worst, it was just going to drive itself further into the ground. A better predicament than having a rogue engine fly directly for her.

[Park]

Amil slowly gathers herself to her feet, hands melding back into... well... hands. Rather than the weaponized limbs she had been using to make pirates less of a threat via application of violence.

That tends to solve quite a few problems!

Anywho!

Amil rises to her feet, glaring at the nearby pirate ship venomously.

"Serves you right!" she spits at the ruined craft. Then attention turns to the downed robot!

And fiendish girl.

And...

Some guy?

"Ah... thanks for the save back there?" Amil pipes up. "I'm pretty glad that ship didn't grind me into a nasty stain in the grass."

Park

Copi is still unconscious. The blue liquid appears to be about the consistency of blood. There isn't a lot of it, and it would be easy enough to take her out of the tree without touching it if you wanted.

One by one, the engines over-heat and die. Roaring vacuums become sucking sighs. A mast crumples from pressure, and the spinning engine crashes to the ground with yet another explosion. Small grassfires burn around it, but they're largely ignored bye the Doctor.

The Doctor's more concerned about the girl who's bleeding what appears to be electricity.

Oh, look, the girl who also fell from the sky has woken up! Maybe she can give the Doctor some answers. "Hello!" he says, oddly cheerful for someone who just spent the last ten minutes frantically running from an exploding pirate ship. It's almost as if he does this sort of thing all the time. "I'm the Doctor. You wouldn't happen to know this girl, would you? Oh look, you're back! I knew you could do it! Very well done!" The Doctor adds when Victoria drops back down. "Can I have my sonic screwdriver back?"

Hopefully...
Shame he has to hurry.

Well, yes. There is that, I suppose.
Ah well. C'est la vie.

A charitable person might say that this particular TARDIS has a lot of character. Quite a lot of character. Absolutely dripping with character. A less charitable soul would probably point out that said character is mostly just hiccups and terribly designed user interfaces. TARDISes may be designed for six pilots, but the Doctor seems to have gotten around that by clumping things together that shouldn't be clumped together. Controls have to be cajoled into working, and sometimes stop as soon as the Captain looks away from them.

However, despite the difficulty of the consoles, the Captain manages to get the TARDIS running. The drive hums cheerily, and a monitor lights up somewhere to the Captain's left.

"Robot" may be misleading.

While she does appear to be artificial, you can see seams at her joints, she obviously has some kind of not-quite-skin covering, but at the same time she seems to be alive. She's breathing, for one thing, and the green hair on her head seems to be real hair... albeit, dark green.

Also, the bleeding part. As a general rule, robots don't bleed. "Artificial life form" would seem to be more accurate.

That aside, it simply made sense to go where the tools were already in place, after all.

"It's very nice. Whoever tipped you off about this place deserves thanks, both yours and mine. Assuming the food is as good as it smells." Julie starts thumbing through her own copy of the menu idly, looking for one section in particular and not having much luck yet.

When her eyes catch where his are going, she adjusts herself in the dress with something bordering on a smirk, "Do you like it? I know it's not as plunging as my normal evening wear, but that's what my inspiration called for this time. It might even be good for dancing in, who knows?"

Demon Queen's pounce will consist of a quick crouch and leap right at the head of the suit. Her size, momentum, and powers should work to topple the suit over.

But, of course, electricity stands in her way. Stupid electricity.

She'll still hit him. And go to roll off him as he falls backwards, snarling from the electricity. Seems she didn't like that. She also knows now that she can't open up the suits without getting shocked badly.

So, time for plan B.

Energy emanates from her again as she arches her back slightly, growling. She quickly swings her front paw horizontally in front of her. The suited man should suddenly be swept to the side. Like he was an empty plastic bottle.

Seems her powers are stronger in this demon form.

Julie's returned smile could light a warehouse with its brilliancy, "I'm glad you approve. As for the dancing, we've been working on your telepathy quite a bit. Maybe we could take a test run of that, and I could show you what else it's useful for, other than simple conversation." He might already have an inkling from using his far powers in his previous incarnation, but he'll have found out that under Julie's tutelage that there's a large gap between the ease of starspawn abilities and the concentration and knowledge required for psionics.

"Specifically, it can let two bodies move as one during complex actions by letting each know where the other is moving before it happens. It's a very open link compared to just words being shared, but perfectly doable if both people know what they're doing." Here she goes again. She can't seem to help herself with these short little lectures about psionics these days. Thankfully, she's not going any further into it right now.

"There is, in fact. Did you know that the twins are over two years old now? Their bodies, I mean. That means that besides the bottles we have in the fridge, it's best if we stop letting them drink from the tap, so to speak. Their immune systems are as good as they'll get by now. So if you'd like me to, I think you've officially graduated from milk-maid today." Now that is good news. Even if I did, there's no way I would put you through that. I can't imagine putting myself through it again willingly without a lot of consideration." More than a lot, but she's unwilling to tell Eric that she'll never be ready for more children, and she doesn't even know how true that will be. She's gone through so many changes already, she couldn't say for herself what she might do in the future.

Teq was most definitely aiming for that gatling gun. Dangerous thing, that. But before his foe can turn something else into a weapon, Teq decides not to let him walk away. Swirling arms of energy twist around his weapon, mingling with the glittering particles that were once a ballistic shield.

The Vraal stands, firing again, even his tremendous hands knocked back from the recoil. Another screaming blast of power is sent toward the mech-warrior, this time at his cockpit. Hopefully Teq can finish this in one go.

By this point, Teq is having trouble focusing on much besides his enemy. The explosions, the other suit, the battle on-stage - he's quite oblivious.

DMC

Cornelia blushes a bit, considering it a compliment. No need to for Mia to say anything else - while Nelia's far past twenty, it's hard to determine an exact age. The scars, combined with her ancestry, give her a somewhat younger appearance. "Oh, no. Gettin' on to forty now." She smiles. "Even so, m'glad ye came along. I jus' wish we could get all the scars."

"Um, is Twilight okay? I should really go che-"

The pony descending gives Teq/Vul a bit of pause. That was... convenient. For once. He has nothing to add, for now - though his expression remains on the skeptical side. The tall Vraal adjusts his ballistics-coat.

Convenience is the prerogative of princesses and the Nexus.
She may have even done that on purpose. But maybe not.

Luna stares at the Vraal for a moment, before looking to the one who is actually properly addressing her.
She does not expect obeisance, as she is not their royalty, but introductions are polite.

A slight incline of her head is granted in return, coupled with her own.
"Princess Luna of Equestria."
Straightforward, simple. She hasn't had need for a military title in...many hundreds of years.
"At present my plan is to ensure that you are forewarned of any risk that may be looming over your nation. I would not leave you ignorant to problems of our design.

[Park]

"Amil Wightson. And sort of...?" Amil replies with uncertainty and a small frown. "She's a friend of mine. I think? Except now she's a robot for some reason?"

Well!

That isn't very informative at all!

"She was just a normal human last time I saw her. But the Nexus has this absolutely terrible habit of vomiting strange all over normal people if we get stuck here too long."

Take Amil for example! Once normal, now dripping with strange. Thems the breaks.

Now time for a question of her own!

"The doctor of what? Science? Medicine...?"

Park

"Robot" may be misleading.

While she does appear to be artificial, you can see seams at her joints, she obviously has some kind of not-quite-skin covering, but at the same time she seems to be alive. She's breathing, for one thing, and the green hair on her head seems to be real hair... albeit, dark green.

Also, the bleeding part. As a general rule, robots don't bleed. "Artificial life form" would seem to be more accurate.

[Park]

"Of course." Victoria hands the sonic screwdriver back to the Doctor. The half fiend looks on with concern at the two injured women. "Do either of you want healing? I know a bit of magic. Not much, but it will probably do until we can get you to a temple."

"Time." The Doctor smiles at Amil, before his attention is taken by Victoria returning his sonic screwdriver! "Ah, thank you!" he says, giving it a quick flip in his fingers. "If you can treat Amil and her friend here, that'd be great."

Temples, though. That was odd. You'd think a city this advanced would have hospitals as centres of healing, not temples. Not something he'd never seen before. Plenty of planets and cultures had temples that were all but hospitals. This was probably one of them.

"Now, a robot, you said?" Sonic screwdriver in hand, the Doctor turns his attention to Copi. The little chrome wand makes a high pitched buzzing noise and emits a blue UV light from the tip. "No. Not quite a robot. Artificial life form. Somewhat biotic. Very interesting. When you're done here, Victoria," the Doctor says, stepping back and tucking the sonic screwdriver into his pocket, "I can give you a lift to the temple."

"Thats what I thought you wanted to talk. It was really hard for me to get your eye back. Not only the strength I need."

She looks up at MDM as if looking into another face. Maybe now Cornelia notice that MDM appears like a smaller copy of the pictures she saw outside.

"I'm also bound to Deus Mechanicus."

She waits a bit not knowing how Cornelia might react to that, but befor she says something Mia continues.

The Kami pays none of this any mind, and goes over to poke a man in the ribs, resulting in a pair of bat ears forming on his head. He seems too stunned to act at this point.

The Poor Knight - Later

Kate walks down the street just in time to see the Kami head into traffic. Crud... she watches it for a moment, seeing what it will do next...

She doesn't really notice Correl yet.

The Poor Knight-Timeline 1

"He did?" Alfred's mother asks, her voice somewhere between surprised and impressed.

"Oh no," Alfred embarrassedly protests. "I wasn't near so much help. I went along with him and the girl, Sadei, for a while, but I wasn't there when he actually changed back. Even so," he says as he bows politely to the knight. "Thank you for the compliment." Raising his head, he fidgets with his hands, struggling to figure out how to ask what he wants to ask. "Sir Correl? Um... Since my mother is here, I was wondering... Could you- COULDYOUTALKTOHERABOUTLETTINGMEBEYOURSQUIRE!"

His mother didn't seem to register that borderline gibberish request, and looks to Correl for an answer.

The Poor Knight - Later

As the spirit just decides to ignore Correl disappears in a flash and appears a moment later just next to the kami. He then reaches out and attempts to cast a sleep spell on it as it's distracted transforming people.

[The poor Knight -Earlier]

The knight blinks, what did Alfred just say? "Ah... would you mind repeating that Alfred? I didn't manage to make it out." Correl asks with an confused expression.

Something that distresses her more than a little.

"I would...prefer Twilight be taken alive."
Her first friend.
"But if it comes down to it, do what is necessary. It won't care for her body or yours. Self-destruction should not be a risk, if it sees a way out."

Now, about that magic. Last time it drew on the host's traits, geared towards primary function and misguided desire.
Night eternal, in that situation.
Twilight is just...magic. Simple but pure. Too broad.

Misguided desire then.
What did the little unicorn desire? Knowledge seems a good candidate, with her love of research. Poor fit for aggressive action, however.

Princess Luna frowns a bit.
"While not strictly true, I would assume capability for anything and highly dangerous.
The entity will seek a focus for the host's magic, but I cannot be sure what that would be at the present time. The host was an exemplar of magic for our kingdom, the range is broad."

He lets her take his arm to take care of the wound there. She may notice that there is a large bruise up on his shoulder, old enough where it isn't from the fall.

"I am pretty sure I'm not concussed by the way, didn't hit my head that hard. Thanks by the way."

Besides the bruise he has several visible scars, one under right eyebrow partially concealed, one on the side of the neck that points up to his ear. Two more are on his palms each identical a single line running across the palm, and large like he had been cut several times. Though those wounds are pretty hard to spot and Calvin does his best to keeps his palms out of sight though that might be hard with her bandaging up his arm.

Julie will find Eric has readied a turnaround for the erogeny in the kiss as well, but he certainly goes into it with enthusiasm. It is difficult to focus on more than one thing at once, but it's lovely when you can manage it.

There is a light puff of orchid colored energy in an alley outside the restaurant as a toddler is deposited in the area outside the restaurant where her parents are currently having a duel of sexy psychic wills. It's scylla! The half succubus farspawn girl.

Of course, this rapid transport in trying to locate her parents may have tipped off a thing or two that's sensitive to fluctuations in the veil.

Eric will soon find out what Julie meant by concentrating on many things, as behind that little tingle of compressed sexuality is another effect that copies any effects used on her and returns them to sender. So while she does get hit with a taste of her own medicine, she was clearly expecting it and is looking to get around Eric's own defense with a simultaneous second attempt.

Later that day, a tall, pretty, woman with shoulder-length black hair, and eyes that seem to eat any light that comes near them, slips out of the air in the Greenhouse, unless something would prevent her from doing so.

Vines! Not tentacles. =I

"Hey, let me go!" Arel's nerves are already fried today, she doesn't want to deal with this right now. She tries t tug the vine away and take a few steps away from the rocketfairies. Not before the one examining her will see that the vine smoothly transitions into her back near the spine. It's very much a part of her.

She'll see a big... bulb... planty... thing on four legs creak and rustle over to her, white skin and purple hair visible between the bulb petals.
Bodies lady?

"Must be nice there. Maybe a bit boring but nice."

And he knows there are more people like that around here, he just doesn't often deal with those kind of people.

"Yeah. I get homesick sometimes. But my family's here, so what can I do?" Charity says. "What kind of world are you from?"

...suddenly baby?

Well.

That's certainly different.

And as one might expect the appearance of such a strange creature is sure to attract attention that may or may not be positive! Who knows what kind of dastardly being might do terrible things to...

Umm...

A weird squiggly child with tentacles?

"I originally come from a world a lot like this. Bits of magic, though a lot less then this. A bit under the tech level here, still have cars and cell phones. Though I spent a lot of time away from it all. Sort of lived off the grid out in the woods with a bunch of others for a few years. Shortly after my uncle adopted me.

Hooka place

"Sounds nice," Charity says. "My sis has a place like that. It's so isolated the only way in is by teleporting, or with a very smart mount." Like a sentient motorbike. "It's amazing how many stars you can see from there."

"Yeah, I guess so. I didn't see too many stars out there. It was, well sort of like a monastery I guess. A few nights every now and then spent outside every now. But yeah, it really could be pretty I guess.

Calvin shrinks back into the couch he is sitting in as he talks. A dark look crosses his face as he remembers his time spent there.

Well, given the already present kiss, Eric just tries to deepen the kiss, followed by a few moments later pulling away, a blush on his face as he looks at her with a funny lopsided smile, "Well, alright, you got me there."

To be fair, she's not a baby, but rather a toddler, being two years old developmentally already. She stands up on her tentacles and looks around a bit, "Mommy?"

If nobody responds to her, she'll try her hand at teleportation again; an exertion of will, Yog-Sothoth's domain. She wants to find her parents, but isn't very accurate about finding them.
