In my apartment building there is no access to internet, so having a GSM stick is my only option. I would like to know some way to let my ps3 share the connection somehow, at least for the game updates. I run on firmware.

If you have a router that supports it, just put the stick in the router and connect your ps3 with the router too (either via wlan oder or cable).

The other option would be to use a software router on your laptop and use a crosslink cable to connect your ps3 with your laptop.

Don't most modern versions of Windows allow you to use a built-in wifi receiver in reverse, becoming an effective hotspot? Google "using a computer as a router" should give tips.
