Is a summoning focused Wizard with Malconvoker levels a better summoner, or a Greenbound summoning Druid?

Depends on the level. At low levels, Greenbound Summoning destroys the game by allowing a 1st level character to summon a creature capable of casting a 5th level spell, and a GOOD 5th level spell at that (Wall of Thorns).

At later levels, when the Malconvoker has a Balor thrall, or something of that nature, even summon 5 Walls of Thorns a round is less exciting.

I'd say the tipping point lies somewhere around ECL10, when the Conjourer hits Malc5 and gets 5th level spells.
