So, i'm currently in a game where my current character has lost its luster, its a troll that is basically immune to death, but its not fun anymore, so could anyone give me a flat out damage dealing class that won't get shredded by lich's and dragons? I'm not looking for one turn kills, just the ability to give a great hit and take a great hit back, if you want more info on the troll, ask me and i'll post him on here, he's not the best, but with his items he doesn't really die, his goal was to become a hide carved dragon, and if the damage could focus on saying no to miss chances that would help considering the bbeg for the campaign is a epic level shadow dragon that the dm thinks (and probably will) kill the whole party on "turn 1". Spell casting dragons of doom, they suck, but yeah, if anyone could help I would love it, the only banned book is Tome Of Battle, but he regrets it because he didn't read it before we started and now wants to let it in but the party would throw a fit if he did, because according to one of them, "We are broken enough as is, for gods sake you can't die without getting out melee'd." Which is true, but hey, I tried because he killed my first character, but back to topic, if anyone could post a decent build that's interesting i'd love to see it, so long as it's melee based i'm set.:smallsmile::smallsmile:

That build has several things that seem vaguely illegal and several that I know are illegal.

Also pretty much a standard mailman.

without being an auto win type try Dragonborn Water Orc Barbarian 2/Fighter 18. Very simple build. Take the ACFs Spirit lion totem (for pounce), whirling frenzy (replaces normal rage with: +4 STR, +2 AC, +2 REF, -2 attacks, extra attack on full attack), and wolf totem (imp. Trip for free (without the prereq feat)).

For feats take (not in a particular order):
Exotic weapon proficiency: Spiked chain
Mobility (+4 AC against AoOs)
Dodge (+1 AC against I target, PHB)
Cleave (kill, gain extra attack, PHB)
Imp sunder (+4 sunder, PHB)
Imp trip (free) (+4 trip, PHB)
Imp bulrush (Pwr atk, +4 on bulrush, PHB)
Power attack (trade ATK for damage 2:1,PHB)
Leap attack (X3 power attack damage after 10ft jump, CA)
Combat brute (imp sunder, 3:1 on power attack after charge, CW)
Shock trooper (Imp bulrush, trade AC for power attack on charge, CW)
Elusive target CW 110 (various)
Robilar’s gambit (Combat reflexes, opponents gain +4 to hit, provoke AoO each attack, PHB 2)
Combat reflexes (AoOs=DEX mod, PHB)
Sidestep (dodge, mobility, 1 5 foot step after AoO per round, MH)
Defensive sweep (If opponent doesn’t move gain AoO, PHB 2)
Extra rage (+2 rage per day, CW)
Knock-down (do 10 damage may trip as free action, S&F)
Battle jump (X2 total melee damage or free trip attempt after 5ft drop, UE 42)

What it does: Basics of an ubercharger for your turn, and enough power attack bonuses to carry you through after. On everyone else's turn you get to hit-trip-hit for just about everything an enemy tries, and you have reach. So you lock-down a 5x5 square section of the map using actions on enemies turns then bring the beat down with a full attack on your turn.

The build is a bit MAD between STR to hit and damage, DEX for the prereqs and AoOs, and CON to survive the hits after using shock trooper to lower AC with power attack (rather than lower attack bonus) simply picking up gloves of dex should cover you for DEX, most of your resources will go to STR anyway, and some form of displacement will cover you for the getting hit problem.

TL;DR version: This build does great damage on your turn, followed by damage and battlefield control on everyone else's turn.

Warblade -> X

Take martial study feat when you get warblade for burning blade.
20 STR
5 attacks with flurry for 1d6+5 or 5d6+25 damage output to start
At warblade 1 use punishing stance 2d6+5 or 10d6+25 damage output
Burning blade when you have to 2d6+5 + 1d6+Initiator Level (lets say 1 for now) in fire damage or 15d6+30 or 20d6 damage (max result of a d6 is 6 so rounding down a little)

Lots of damage early, not much other than PHB, MM3, and TOB needed for this.
Feel free to optimize with other stuff as you feel necessary.

Burning blade advantages: Fire damage ignores DR and supernatural means 50% to hit incorporeal if you need to.

Depending on which feat you drop this is probably a good route for you.

good except for OP saying no ToB. But going a similar route with a Tashalatora monk1/psychic warrior 19 could be fun as well

Depending on which feat you drop this is probably a good route for you.
Dropping the second level of Barbarian would also work; it's a good level, but hardly essential unless you've got some clever ACF there I hadn't noticed.

IIRC you need to be level two barbarian for the Improved trip feat to come into play for free from wolf totem. Tripping is the main point of all of the AoOs and taking the spiked chain. For raw damage there are a ton of ways to go instead of the build I put up, but I figured mixing damage, AoOs, trips, and other tricks would put some zest into it since he's bored of the troll

In that case, check out the feat "Wolf Berserker" from Unapproachable East. It requires ability to Rage, gives +4 on Trip, and explicitly lets you qualify for Improved Trip as if you had Combat Expertise. I realize it's another feat to shoehorn in, but it means you can get an extra +4 over your guy, still pick up Improved Trip without worrying about Int, and opens you back up to dipping Ranger and getting that massive damage spike from Rhino's Rush.

If you swap out Rage for Whirling Frenzy, would you technically qualify for the Wolf Berserker? Also, that feat has some setting/regional requirements tacked onto it that your DM would have to handwaive if you're not in FR.

Hi

If this is Pathfinder, check out Synthesist.

For cheese go Aasimar & take 2 lvls of Paladin (for saves & wpn prof's), then pure Synth.

You can go extra limbs and go multi attack with all those Scimatars, or just go Pwr Attack with that Gt Sword.

Nice spells to support your melee too. Haste is 2nd lvl Spell for Summoners.

I don't have the sheet on me, and I havn't converted over the troll yet, but his average damage is currently 3d8+27 without power attacking away his four BAB, thanks so far for the build options, and it's not pathfinder so the triple posts are a wee bit silly, and i'll try to post the troll by the end of the night, otherwise it will be up here soon, and the dm currently is giving everyone "artifacts" that level with us, and i'm limited to level 15, but I love the water orc thing, can't wait to show him :smallcool::smallsmile::smallbiggrin:

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the campaign is going to 30, and i don't want a mailman build, I want things like the orc :3
