Saga Edition: Improviser prestige class, Excellent Kit talent

The talent says:

You always make sure your allies have the best gear available. Whenever you purchase weapons, armor, or other equipment (legal or black market) all gear you purchase has 50% more hit points and 5 more DR than normal.

Does this apply to purchasing a starship? If so, does that create issues, considering starships can have a lot of HP to begin with?

I'm sure it wasn't the designer's intention that it applied to starships also. In the same way that you can't apply generic gear templates to spaceships, I wouldn't let my players do this.

That was the feeling I got, as well. Ironically, if this doesn't apply to ships and vehicles, then it has basically no value (other than the small Mechanics boost players get when working on said items.)

I could see it being useful in games where the DM targets items and such
