I wanted to share a Kickstarter project I launched this morning called “Epic Metal Coins for Tabletop Gaming.” The project is a set of 60 real metal coins to upgrade cardboard tokens for board games, role playing games or larping. You can find more info at the project page on Kickstarter:

A new RPG setting (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1124066364/shotguns-and-sorcery-rpg) based upon Matt Forbeck's Shotguns & Sorcery books using the Cypher system (used in Numenera):

Sorcerers of Ur-Turuk (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2036759092/sorcerers-of-ur-turuk) is a Persian Sword and Sorcery game based on the OpenD6 License.

To expand Mark's post further (I hope that's OK). Sorcerers of Ur-Turuk and is being designed and published by Arion Games, who also designs/publishes Advanced Fighting Fantasy and Maelstrom.

It is fantasy RPG set in a Persian Empire inspired 'Sword & Sorcery' setting. The PCs are powerful sorcerers combing the desert for magical secrets from the buried remains of an ancient Sumerian-like civilisation.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/projects/1452765/photo-main.jpg

It is a troupe style RPG (like Ars Magica) in that each player creates 1 Sorcerer, as well as 1 major PC and 3 minor PCs. That way the player can play a different PC that is appropriate to the scene or task at hand.

It uses Open D6, and seems to favour the simplicity of Star Wars 1e over its later iterations. It has a flexible magic system in which you combine 1 of 3 "verbs" (Summon, Shape, Destroy) with 1 of 10 "nouns" (Life, Magic, Fire etc).

The final rulebook looks to be around 140 pages (the same as Star Wars 1e or one of the 3 D6 corebooks), in full colour, and with beautiful watercolour art. It will be followed by a setting book early next year, presumably of similar size.

Many a time I've tried to find a tile map for the scene, only to spend hours browsing irrelevant tiles in a clunky interface and come away empty-handed.

So I want to create a tiles search service, like Google Pictures only better. It'll search over rpgmapshare.com and other tiles, only with a user-friendly interface.

Would be cool to fund it at Kickstarter, but I live in Russia so I can't create the thing (the Kickstarter campaign, that is) myself. Anyone here wants to help?

I would like to bring to attention Starship Adventure (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2144788956/starship-adventure-sci-fi-space-tabletop-rpg). It looks like a very interesting game that fills a niche that I haven't seen another game fill.

You, uh. Not to be mean, but you really need to work on the presentation of your work. Put your stuff through a spellcheck, for starters. And if you're going to link to an example of previous work, you should put in a little extra effort to clean up the table. Also...if you're trying to be even vaguely official with this, call it Pathfinder, not 3.75. You're not even saying Dungeons and Dragons 3.75, just 3.75, which isn't exactly a well-known name. You may also want to remove all the 'extra book' rewards, because...why would I want five copies of the same book? Seriously?

As it is, the presentation denotes that it's going to be a shoddy product full of grammatical errors, unbalanced items, and cheesy classes. A lot like the Advanced Class Guide was.

I have hired an editor, because as my posts show I terrible with grammar. I will take your opinions into consideration, and make the rewards more varied, I put multiple copies of the book as higher rewards based on how I would like a reward, because if I have 5 copies of a book, I would give a copy to each of my gaming group, kickstarter will be updated within a few minutes though thank you,

Hello!

Below is a link to our project, a new Sci-Fi setting and ruleset built from the ground up to integrate multimedia with traditional tabletop RPGs.

The project speaks for itself better than I can. Any questions will happily be fielded on the Kickstarter Website.

Starforged Odyssey: Aces Wild (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/940527902/starforged-odyssey-aces-wild)

The video is short and should only take a few minutes of your time. There are additional videos if you're interested from there.

Thanks for checking us out!

Hi everybody,

Conan (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806316071/conan/description) is a board game, but I thought I should put it up here because of the roleplaying and flavour involved, as well as minis you might like. The project is over 700% funded on day 5.

The image below is of the basic pledge. I think with stretch goals you have + 50 minis or so, maybe more.

I'm super excited about this one.

http://i.imgur.com/A40mf6E.jpg (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1835460386/strike-rpg
)

It's a very light, highly-tactical RPG with very simple rules and a lot of tactical complexity. The rules are already up for download, too, which is one of my requirements for kickstarting a game anymore.

Also, it's in Canadian monopoly money, so it's even less expensive than the reasonable pledge levels would indicate!

Goodman Games has launched a Kickstarter called "The Monster Alphabet, with GM Gems." (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1409961192/the-monster-alphabet-with-gm-gems?ref=email)

This Kickstarter funds the creation of two hardcover systems-neutral sourcebooks: The Monster Alphabet and GM Gems. They are intended for use with any fantasy tabletop role playing game, under any rules system or edition.

The Monster Alphabet is a lavishly illustrated 64-page hardcover sourcebook. Each page or spread is an “inspirational letter” which has a random table associated with a monster attribute. For example: A is for Android, B is for Breath Weapon, C is for Crossbreed, and so on.

GM Gems is an 80-page systems-neutral hardcover of game master inspiration organized around general adventuring topics. It is filled with a wealth of information and ideas to empower every aspect of your game. The first printing sold out several years ago. This Kickstarter funds a second printing, in hardcover format, with new art to supplement the original work, including new cover art by TSR alum Laura Lakey, new interior work by fan favorite Stefan Poag, and new endsheets by Peter Mullen.

Both GM Gems and Monster Alphabet are complete and ready to go to the printer. This Kickstarter funds their print run and the possible addition of incremental features through achievement of stretch goals.

There's a few previews available on the Kickstarter page for both books. I pledged for the gold foil Monster Alphabet and added the Dungeon Alphabet.

After months of planning, its finally here!

The Pact Magic Unbound: Grimoire of Lost Souls Kickstarter is finally here! (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1002835148/pact-magic-unbound-grimoire-of-lost-souls)

What We're About
Pact Magic Unbound: Grimoire of Lost Souls is a compilation of Pact Magic Unbound, Vol 1 and Vol 2, with 100+ pages of new material, plus entirely new high-end artwork.

Dario and I have gotten many requests for a product like this ever since we released Pact Magic Unbound, Vol 2. We want to deliver on the idea of the Ultimate Pact Magic Product in the biggest way possible.

What We Need
Dario and I are asking for $2,500. In truth, the product is already written and has been going through rigorous playtesting over the past two months. We need your help in order to commission new artwork for the book, however, so we're not stuck recycling the artwork from our existing products, most of which is from Dario's original Secrets of Pact Magic and is thereby ten years old.

What We're Offering
Dario and I are offering a variety of pledge tiers that will allow our backers to get exactly what they want out of this Kickstarter. We also have a number of exciting add-ons that will allow our backers to gain fantastic rewards. We have a number of Stretch Goals planned beyond what is listed, but we're also listening for backer feedback in regards to what our consumer base wants to see added to the Kickstarter. Want me to make Spirit Cards? Ask for them! Want Dario to record an audio drama where he gets people to read legends in accents? We can do that too!

The incentive that I'm most excited for is our Create-A-Character add-on. Essentially, if you pledge enough funds for us to commission a piece of artwork, we'll let you decide what characters are portrayed in that artwork. Your character(s) can be forever immortalize in the forbidden pages of the Grimoire of Lost Souls, either flaunting occult power or becoming horribly maimed by it. For instance, my kitsune cavalier, Kyr'shin, will be making an appearance in the Grimoire of Lost Souls as the unfortunate victim of an alter age spell.

Thanks for your interest! Please keep up with this thread, as I'll be making announcements on it as the Kickstarter moves along.

PS. I actually got my RPG Design start on Giantitp.com. Homecoming! ;-)

Here is the link for the Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/218920341/dungeon-tiles

Here are the details:

To offer an affordable way for gamers to create their own dungeons. Allowing them to upload their own designs and have them printed on quality material for an affordable price. Also allowing gamer to pick from pre-created dungeons on the site as well.

Imagine that you spend all this time creating an epic dungeon only to print it on paper or cardstock. If funding is successful you will be able to upload and have it printed on wet and dry erasable high quality washable vinyl. You can get it as one big map or individual tiles for you to rearrange, the choice is yours!

In order to accomplish this we have put together this dungeon set as rewards for your pledges. These Dungeon Tiles are map tiles for your roleplaying games and other miniatures games. The tiles can be assembled in various shapes and sizes of dungeons in moments. The tiles are marked in increments of 1" and are 6"x6" in size

The Big Book of Bloodlines (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1394597776/the-big-book-of-bloodlines-for-the-pathfinder-rpg), a new supplement for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game by Interjection Games.
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Bradley Crouch or Interjection Games. I did ask the publisher if I could plug for his kickstarter on this forum (since he doesn't have much of a forum presence outside of the Paizo forums), and he told me I could.

As the name suggests, the Big Book of Bloodlines is a massive expansion to the bloodline mechanic that Pathfinder sorcerers and bloodragers use. It will include more than 100 new bloodlines, along with a new subsystem of "complex bloodlines". Most of the writing is already done, the Kickstarter will fund artwork, additional content through stretch goals, and printing. More details can be found in the kickstarter description, and in the corresponding thread (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2s14g?Interjection-Games-The-Big-Book-of-Bloodlines) on the Paizo forums (and the previous thread (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2rsac?Interjection-Games-The-Big-Book-of-Bloodlines) which had more discussion before the kickstarter was actually launched.)

Interjection Games has a large collection (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/browse/pub/3827/Interjection-Games) of Pathfinder RPG compatible supplements, mostly rules-heavy PDFs. They also ran a successful kickstarter last fall for a tome-of-magic-like (for which backers, myself included, already have the PDFs (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/138223/Strange-Magic-Subscription-PFRPG), and are only waiting for the hard copies). Hence, I am confident that if this project is funded, backers (including me) will be getting our money's worth.

Robert J. Schwalb has started the Kickstarter for his Shadow of the Demon Lord RPG. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/432417423/shadow-of-the-demon-lord) The Kickstarter campaign has funded ($30,000) in less than a day and the first stretch goals have been revealed.

http://schwalbentertainment.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Final.jpg

Shadow of the Demon Lord is a roleplaying game of dark fantasy—a genre that weaves elements of horror into a fantasy world. In the game, you create and play characters struggling to survive in a land sliding toward oblivion, a place infested by demons, roaming mobs of undead, strange magic, unhinged cultists, and all in the ruins of the last great empire of mankind. If you love Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, the Ravenloft and Midnight settings, Joe Abercrombie’s The First Law series, Glen Cook’s Black Company books, or heavy metal music, then this is the game is for you.

The game takes place in a world standing on the brink of the apocalypse. What is the cause? Who is responsible? The Demon Lord, of course! This being of staggering power and boundless evil authors the catastrophes blighting the landscape. Each new horror released reflects the Demon Lord's approach, the touch of its shadow, and its growing hunger for not only the planet but the entirety of all things. Although near, the Demon Lord remains outside the cosmos, rattling the cage of its prison as it strains to escape the Void to visit catastrophic destruction to your world.

The apocalyptic tone is on a dial. If you don’t want to blow everything up right away, tune it down low and the game plays fine as a less perilous, dark fantasy roleplaying game. But if you are inclined to crank up the volume, the game provides several catastrophic templates you can use to model how the world is falling apart. These templates represent the Shadow of the Demon Lord; wherever the Shadow falls, chaos and upheaval are born. The Shadow might loose global pandemics, famines, droughts, earthquakes, demon princes to stomp across the countryside, the living dead, and other world-spanning disasters and threats.

The game system helps you tell interesting and exciting stories. To make this happen, the game system is easy to learn, plays fast, and requires little preparation to play. All these ensure both novice and veteran players can enjoy the game together.

I've been a playtester since the beginning and I've seen the game evolve and mature into the game it is now. We've been playtesting it for over a year now and the games mechanics are tight and fast. One of the comments I heard most about the game when I ran demos at GMX last October was how easy it was to pick and play and how the games mechanics didn't get in the way of actually playing the game.

Rob's experience in the gaming industry speaks for himself. He's worked on the 3rd, 4th and 5th editions of Dungeons & Dragons, both as a freelancer and as lead designer. He's won Ennies for his design work from the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game and Black Company campaign setting to the Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying game.

The funding goal gets us a 128-page, full-color softcover rulebook. This might seem slim, especially since I have over three times the number in pages of fun and terrifying content just waiting to be released into the wild. This said, the offered page count gives me enough room to include everything you need to play and run the game. Here’s the thing, though. The more stretch goals we hit, the bigger and saucier the book becomes. We all like saucy.

I am more excited about Blades in the Dark (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2080350433/blades-in-the-dark) than I have been about any RPG kickstarter since Feng Shui 2. It looks pretty amazing; stretch goals have been dropping left and right, and more intriguing settings keep popping up.

Mechanically, it shows its heritage as Apocalypse Engine, but it's an interesting change and refinement of the concept.

The base game is about a crew of criminals trying to rise through the ranks in a series of heists, escapades, thefts, and other dirty deeds. There's reskins unlocked to turn it into Shadowrun, a super-villains game, Space Opera Scum & Villainy, pirates ... it's crazy.

Really; check it out. I cancelled all my other pledges to other kickstarters and threw into the hardback tier, here. It looks that awesome.

And best of all - you can download it when you pledge. And cancel your pledge if you hate it. I didn't; I am pretty enthralled and I can't wait to run my players through it.

It does! Even at the $1 level, you can grab the sample rules from Update... 16? Then if you love it or hate it, you can decide from there.

I don't back games anymore that aren't fairly well along their way, and that don't provide their rules. Saves a lot of heartache, lemme tell you.

Oh, and uh. The new stretch goal for Blades in the Dark is an official Vlad Taltos hack, with Steven Brust writing an Adrilankha city Guide.
That got my attention. I'm a big Steven Brust fan.

That said, I much prefer physical copies of my RPGs than digital copies. As in, I won't even bother if I'm not getting a book out of it. I see that the $20 tier offers print-on-demand physical softcover (priced about $10 above that after shipping, I'm sure) and there is a $50 hardcover tier. Is there any indication of if the stretch goals will be included in those books, or if they will be digital only?

The book is already a 192 full-color hardback, hitting 100k bumps up the book to 256 pages. There's been plenty of adventures and setting pdfs unlocked, such as the Alfheim, Hell and Cults of the Demon Lord pdfs.

A new limited backer level was added this morning and it's been filled (Hidden Cultist); 30 hand-crafted Deluxe Shadow Lord GM Screens, made by yours truly. While those slots are gone, pledging to the campaign will get you updates the quickest if more Deluxe GM Screens are added.

Hmm. Obryn, I'm $20 in, how do I actually look at these QuickStart rules I'm supposed to have? I have been alerted of the latest stretch goal being met (blades of jhereg), and have received email saying the same, and that's it. Was hoping to look at the stuff today/tomorrow.

I'd ask the guy. Kickstarters I've backed have gone both ways, but PDF-only for stretch goals is fairly common.

It largely depends, I think, on who's authoring them. If it's the same author, it should go in the main book. If it's freelancers, you probably wouldn't want to hold up book production if they flake out on you. I'd guess PDF, since this would significantly inflate the page-count.

e: And Brust is apparently not writing it directly, but overseeing the authorship of the guide and everything. Which is pretty darn awesome, still. I'm a big fan of the series, too, and I'd be kicking in if I weren't already.

There's been a few! They are in the updates.

Now I am at home I have had a chance to do some searching and I think your kickstarter is this one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/infinityplus1/fantasy-font-forge-elvish-scripts.

I really recommend not posting summarized URLs like that one - I took one look at it and assumed it was a malware site phishing post (and I actually reported it as such). Even though my search has turned up a valid KickStarter I am still not going to click on a link like that to confirm - it looks way too risky...

There will be a survey sent out by the project creator when they are nearing completion; you'll tell him mailing information then. Have no worries!

If you change your address after that survey, you'll need to send the creator a KS message unless they're using something like BackerKit.

Man, I can't for this, btw.

Aye, I'm a little sad I have to wait to November even for the PdFs, but it really is an exciting look at a lot of things, wrapped up in pretty much exactly everything my tabletop was lacking.

If I had more rules available i would probably start a play by post to test it.

Greetings from Arcana Games!
We're happy to announce the Kickstarter for our flagship game Blood and Bone.

http://imgur.com/BTqLY68

Blood and Bone is a gritty, realistic, low fantasy system and combined campaign setting.

“What Dungeons and Dragons is to Lord of the Rings, Blood and Bone is to Game of Thrones”

“Characters in Blood and Bone are defined by the paths they take and the choices they make. Unlike games such as D&D being a warrior doesn't enable you fight, learning to fight enables you to be a warrior. You are sum of your innate characteristics, learned abilities, and honed skills.”

“Blood and Bone really shines when used to facilitate tales of horror, intrigue, or war...
The system is geared towards dark realism, intense action, and gritty consequences...
Serving as an excellent vehicle for addressing mature themes and moral ambiguity.”

“If you’re looking for a world of clean cut good versus evil this game is not for you.”

“Fights are brutal. Battles are traumatic. Power is terrifying. Heroes are blood and bone.”

Tabletop Tokens (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/761314883/tabletop-tokens)

http://imgur.com/jiAioNK

As a GM, I know how frustrating it can be to run an encounter without the help of visual aids. Beads, dice, and other such items can be used represent an NPC or creature, but they take you completely out of the story. With the high price of pewter and even plastic figurines, I needed an inexpensive alternative.

The tokens I have created are a standard one inch in diameter, and can be used with grids or hexagons. They have a felt base, so they move smoothly and are safe for any gaming surface. Each token is also covered with epoxy resin for protection. The core is made of zinc-plated steel, for weight and balance. The finished tokens will be printed on professional-grade photo paper for a bright, long lasting image.

Hello everybody!

With „The Games Collective“ young RPG design team I am part of, I'm turning to Kickstarter to seek funding for our new game, Awaken. Fans of dark fantasy games, creativity and story driven experiences, will feel at home in Awaken, a pen and paper RPG heavily influenced by Slavic and Mediterranean folklore.
The Kickstarter campaign will feature the core game at $55, and will be shipped worldwide.

The logistics and publishing of the Awaken is supported by Studio 2 Publishing (http://studio2publishing.com/), the sales, warehousing, and publishing partner of many game companies, including Pinnacle Entertainment, Exile Game Studio, Crafty Games, Engine Publishing, Hunters Books, Paradigm Concepts, and many more.

About the game:

Step into a land ravaged by war against a nightmarish adversary, governed by the loose Alliance of the Great Cities. The decimated remains of mankind struggle to rebuild their cities—led by the fabled Vasalli, leaders and paragons of society—while the noble lords indulge in intrigues and power plays.
But with the colossal guardians dying out, the re-emergence of the dreadful Vargans, and the incursions of the mysterious nations from the North, the citizens of the Alliance are slowly coming to understand that their struggles are just beginning.

Good day, hoi, guten tag and bonjour!

My name is Sascha. I am secretary and treasurer for the Initium foundation. We are a non-profit organisation of filmmakers from the Netherlands.

We’re also a bunch of geeks.
We’ve been masquerading vampires, we’ve seen dragons in dungeons, we’ve found paths and we even killed puppies for Satan.( Seriously, check that one out. It’s hilarious.)

For the last year we have been writing, endlessly tinkering and perfecting a story about a subject we love; roleplaying games. From the beginning it was clear to us that our tale was best told in the form of a web series. You grow more attached to your characters week after week going to sessions and slinging dice.

Our story follows a group of adventurers hailing from a region aptly named the Claw. Through various campaigns the players have explored the GM's homebrew setting and shared the land's intrigues and battles. The Claw has always been secluded from the rest of the world by a mysterious barrier and the players have been left in the dark about what is behind it. Until now, of course.

You can check out the pilot right here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G1ntZovAFo

Intrigued? I know we are. We have lifted the veil here but we can only go Beyond the Barrier by working together on this project!

Let's define the word "together"

On this page the word “we” shows up quite a lot. Chances are that you imagine the cast and crew. Let’s expand that view.
When you read “we” imagine that cast and crew but also yourself and hundreds, perhaps even thousands of other roleplayers. People who share the same passion and enthusiasm for our hobby.
Yes, we are asking funds for a great web series but there is a second goal that we have in mind. It is to create a mirror in which we can all see ourselves and celebrate what we love. It doesn’t matter what game or edition you play, nor if you’re a game master, player or just a spectator.

Our hobby is thriving and deserves recognition!

It is our ambition to form a community of roleplay enthusiasts who will collaborate with us on this project. The lands beyond the barrier are vast and unexplored, the cultures varied. Let’s fill in the map, let’s make something great. Together.

Interested and eager to help us? Then head over to the kickstarter page:

I shared this Kickstarter back in April when I started it, and now we are nearing the end. It's been a long road, but the end is in sight. Funded after 3 days, new stretch goals are waiting to be unlocked!

For those of you who GM, you know how frustrating it can be trying to run an encounter without visual aids. Miniatures are expensive, and cardboard tokens dissolve at the first drop of Mt. Dew. I've been using these tokens I make for my own games, and my players and I love them.

They have a metal core that gives them heft and balance, are topped with epoxy resin for protection, and have a felt base so they won't scratch up your gaming surface. They are one inch in diameter, and can be used with grids or hexes.

Thanks to all of my wonderful backers, and I hope that you find these as useful as I do.

Hello there! Long time lurker first time poster. Nice to finally have something important enough to say that I decided to register an account! :)

Some of you may be familiar with my company, Kyoudai Games. Two years ago we launched a Kickstarter for our campaign setting and mechanics sourcebook for the Pathfinder system, Thunderscape: the World of Aden. It released in February of last year and since then we've followed up with thirteen sourcebooks and counting. It's been amazing, but one of the things we've found most often is that there are a lot of people who really, really wanted to play in Aden but not with Pathfinder. We here at KG totally love Pathfinder, but if it's not your bag we respect that. So many people asked about Savage Worlds that we decided to educate ourselves on the system, and we totally dig it. So we found some guys who know SW backwards and forwards to help us out, and now it's time to get our Savage on.

Savage Thunderscape, the Savage Worlds Guide to the World of Thunderscape, is now live on Kickstarter! (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1860935013/savage-thunderscape)

If you're a SW fan or a Thunderscape fan, or just a fan of gaming in general, I hope you'll take a moment to drop by and see what we have to offer. I think you'll like it, and I hope you'll consider pledging your support today. We here at KY love Aden, and we want to share it with everyone else who's never had the chance to get to know it. You won't be sorry!

If you haven't heard of Game Mash yet then the basic gist is that we create dry erase monster tokens with beautiful illustrations and magnetic backers. We have a pretty large library so far but we're trying to complete new monsters for the new 5th ed. content.

Here is a sample of our work. This is for the 2" Goblin Wolf Rider token:

We have a fund raiser going on for the next couple weeks so we can raise the funds to get more art. You can support us here:

Hello everyone! I'm here to plug the Kickstarter for a game I've been hard at work developing with three of my very close friends: Post Replica (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1626883000/post-replica-the-1st-tablet-top-roleplaying-game)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EnExTQxAJ4&feature=youtu.be

Post Replica is an innovative, tabletop roleplaying game where the players take on the role of androids living among the humans that hate them. Using a tablet (or smart phone or laptop or basically anything with internet connectivity), players can get a live feed of missions, rumors, and general world-building throughout the entirety of their session. When the players pick which hooks interest them, the outcomes of their sessions will have a direct impact on the game world and, as a result, players across the country. For example, if Party A decides to kill Farmer John, who has been feeding information to the Reclaimers (anti-android militants), the Farmer John NPC will not appear in any other group's missions and will be officially dead. If the Narrator (the "GM") in Party A, then, creates a Reclaimer NPC that Farmer John had been speaking with, this Reclaimer will show up in Party B, C, D, etc.'s Missions.

However, Post Replica is more than just that! It's the first of many projects for Rational Basis Media, which we're hoping to develop into a publishing company to support up-and-coming artists, writers, musicians, and even more. Our Stretch Goals will help us begin hiring independent writers and artists to create new stories. No "portfolio" work, here! We plan to pay undiscovered talent for their work and get them out in a substantial manner.

So if you like what you see/read, go check out the Kickstarter and maybe throw us a few bucks! I promise you won't be disappointed.

I'm currently excited about In the Company of Dragons: Lost Isles (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/937759598/in-the-company-of-dragons-pathfinder-roleplaying-g), a KS project for Pathfinder RPG from Rite Publishing. (Corresponding thread on the Paizo.com forums (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2s9m7?Rite-Publishing-In-the-Company-of-Dragons)).

It's a revision/expansion of an earlier supplement (http://paizo.com/products/btpy98db/discuss&page=2?In-the-Company-of-Dragons) for PC true dragons that are balanced alongside normal PCs.
I was somewhat skeptical prior to getting the original, but it fixes essentially all the problems I had with prior attempts at implementing PC-friendly true dragons.

We've almost reached the first stretch goal: an adventure by Ben McFarland.
The second stretch goal is options for psionic dragons by Jeremy Smith (Co-owner of Dreamscarred Press, and author of Ultimate Psionics).

EDIT: The main rules from the original In the Company of Dragons can be viewed on d20pfsrd.com (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/rite-publishing/draconic-exemplar).

Hey fine folks. I'm very excited to tell you about the kickstarter book I'm writing for, specifically for Pathfinder: The Flaming Crab Games Archetype Compendium (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1456806822/flaming-crab-games-archetype-compendium-for-pathfi). Inside you will find a total of 256 new archetypes, 8 for every class so far published by Paizo. This may seem quite ambitious, but my fellow writer and I have about 60% of them already written (barring revisions) and we're confident we can finish the rest by the time the book would come out. The book will also include some really fantastic art by the very talented Allen Morris. And did I mention the low, low price? The full-color hardback, coming in at at least 200 pages, is only $40 - less than half what some other third-party books of this size can cost. Now, as the first kickstarter from Flaming Crab Games, we're naturally having a bit of trouble coming up with the funds; we don't have the name recognition or fanbase of Kobold Press or Rite Publishing, so we're really relying on word of mouth on this one. So if you back it, and you want to see it actually happen, we'd all really appreciate if you helped spread the word.

In the meantime, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the book, either here or on the Kickstarter's comments. Thanks for reading; this is really a labor of love for us, so we really really want to be able to put our work out there for players.

Melior Via has launched a crowd-funding project campaign to finance their new RPG setting. The Thin Blue Line: A Detroit Police Story is a modern horror setting, where players take on the role of officers of the Detroit Police Department. They must deal with Detroit's mundane criminal issues as well as its hidden paranormal threats. The crowdfunding campaign went live at Noon (EDT), on June 29, 2015.

About the Setting:
Calamity brews in Detroit. Paranormal activity is on the rise. An angry spirit, a dangerous creature, or a pack of desperate cultists hides under every sewer cover and within every abandoned building. Corktown has a secret, though. Its crew of supposed washouts are either psychics or have encountered the paranormal. The officers of Corktown Precinct stand between the city and paranormal onslaught. These damaged, over-worked, and under-paid officers must keep paranormal activity in Detroit under wraps and out of sight. No mean feat in a city as old, large, and haunted as Detroit. Corktown officers face constant threats from mundane crime, paranormal forces, as well as their inner demons and growing madness.

Do they have what it takes? Can they stand against the growing threats, or will they be consumed, along with the city they guard? The Thin Blue Line is a modern horror setting for Savage Worlds tabletop role playing game.

About the Crowdfunding Campaign:
Principal writing for the game setting is complete, and immediately available to backers in the first project update. Preliminary artwork (including photographs, historical images, and “witness composites”) has already begun to come in. However, we need quite a bit more artwork still, and that’s what we’re hoping to fund.

Once funding is successful and final artwork is collected, we'll go through a rigorous system of collecting playtest feedback, final editing, and cleaning up the layout. Then, the 142-page book will be available in electronic and print format through DriveThruRPG.com.

If this sounds interesting to you, please consider checking out the Kickstarter for more information:

Well I feel like there aren't a lot of things like what I'm about to put on here, but here goes:

Teaching Ethics through RPGs (https://experiment.com/rpgethics)

This is a case study that I'm running at my university as a part of my graduate program. In it, we are testing whether playing RPGs can have a significant increase on ethical sensitivity. That website is basically kickstarter for science projects. The study consists of getting participants to play Pathfinder (and possibly other game systems if we can grow large enough) and give them a series of surveys testing to see if they have a noticeable increase in ethical sensitivity compared to a control group.

If this sounds interesting to you, please help by donating! Even just $5 from a ton of people can really add up and help us. If every gaming group who reads this page chips in $5 each, we'd be well at our stretch goal. Also, please consider sharing this to any other places you know RPG enthusiasts might abound. Thanks everyone!

QUEST: AWAKENING OF MELIOR I wanted to just highlight the fact that my friend has helped to develop a new SINGLE player table top game that can also be played as a multi player as well. Just one thing, it needs funding. Just $5 donation gets you a full color print and play. Please help her realize one of her life goals, to make one of her careers game development.

This is not solely a dice rolling game. With each choice you are faced with, more choices will emerge.

For those who don't know they're some of the BEST miniatures around, and they have quite a few stretch goals and add ons already. They have fantasy mini's and sci-fi ones. So, there's a Bunch of stuff for everyone. I mean where else can you get a freaking awesomely huge dragon mini for $10 - $15 (yes, they have multiple kinds at different price points as art of the KickStarter.

There is one week left on the Legendary Planet Adventure Path (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/legendarygames/legendary-planet-adventure-path/description), a series of adventures for D&D 5e and Pathfinder RPG. The main developers are Jason Nelson (Paizo, Legendary Games), Neil Spicer (Paizo, Legendary Games, RPG Superstar judge). Individual adventures are written by Mike Shel, Matt Goodall, Richard Pett, Steven T. Helt, and Tim Hitchcock. Additional content is being written by Erik Mona (publisher and CCO of Paizo), Sean K Reynolds (WotC and former Paizo designer, creator of Five Moons RPG), Richard Baker, and James Jacobs.

It sort of feels like Paizo is doing a kickstarter, but it's technically a different company. I expect it will be good, having backed a previous Legendary Games kickstarter. On the other hand, it isn't quite as exciting as a new RPG is.

So hey, anyone in the South East of England should totally check this Kickstarter out (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1382631007/dice-portsmouths-first-board-game-cafe).

It's for a 'Board Game Cafe' in Portsmouth and I think it'll be a blast.

Less than 48 hours remain on the Path of Iron Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2087616726/path-of-iron-pathfinder-roleplaying-game)! Let's see if we can't hit some of our stretch goals; the more funding, the more content and art we can put in!

Also, be sure to check out the Path of Iron playtest document (http://www.ascension-games.com/s/Path-of-Iron-Playtest.pdf), so you can see what's in store for the final product. It covers all three of the new base classes (archivist, saboteur, and vanguard) as well as the new runic magic system.

We're almost there!

The Kickstarter campaign for Path of Iron is now live! Create constructs, make deadly traps, and delve into ancient rune magic with Ascension Game's latest Pathfinder Roleplaying Game book. Ascension Games is a relatively new contender in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game market, aimed at bringing fun, balanced, and intriguing material to your gaming table. Well, with my first book, Path of Shadows (http://paizo.com/products/btpy9cv1/discuss?Path-of-Shadows) being so well received, I want to continue forward with an even better product!

Path of Iron Kickstarter Page (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2087616726/path-of-iron-pathfinder-roleplaying-game)

A quick sampling of what you'll find within Path of Iron's 150+ pages of content:

Three new base classes: the construct-controlling vanguard, the trap master saboteur, and the rune-casting archivist.
Dozens of archetypes and options for your favorite classes. Use flurry of blows with a firearm as a Zen Marksman, utilize Spell Combat with a two-handed weapon as the Arcane Marauder magus, or tap into the mysterious souls of iron with the Metal spirit for shamans.
Several feats to support all kinds of play styles, as well as brand-new Technique feats to learn specialized methods of combat. Use the Archon Technique to master the tower shield, or the Titan Technique to wield massive weapons against your foes.
Over 80 spells for practically every magic user. Conjure innumerable weapons with the field of blades spell, animate a shield to defend you with dancing steel, and steal the power of magic items with the siphon enchantment spell.
New magic weapons, armor, wondrous items, and more. Destroy any barrier with the gatecrasher or keep your favorite equipment in good repair with the apprentice's whetstone.
Rune magic, a brand new form of magic casting where every spell grants the caster lingering power to strengthen his next spell.

Still not sure? Check here for a sample of the book featuring the vanguard base class. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8smXNWBYJUadUxRMjY0ajR3aTQ/view?usp=sharing)

Hi everyone,

I'd like to share my Kickstarter for fantasy gaming dice called Bone Origins, it's running till the end of August and would be great if you could check them out! :)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1422641660/fablestone-dice-bone-origins

http://www.fablestonedice.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/main_twodice_new_4.png

http://www.fablestonedice.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/magic_circle_3.png

One of the cool features about these dice is that they have been designed to be immersive objects that could actually have been found in one of our fantasy worlds, e.g. something you could stumble upon in an old dungeon of the Forgotten Realms!

They also have interesting role playing uses, such as letting your avatar speak to the spirits of the dead. There is a thread here for discussing the merit of this aspect: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?433075-Breaking-Down-the-4th-Wall-with-Dice-e-g-speaking-to-the-dead

Besides the extra role playing features, I hope you'll find these dice are really cool and fun to use. And might be a great addition to your dice collection! :D

Thanks for looking! Love to hear what people think about them.

Keep rolling,
Gary

Book of the Dark Tao
“The darkness of this world cannot be broken by the fires of the twin suns Solys and Soth. Neither the Twelve Fates nor the Gods of Light will be able to break the paradigm to save what is left of the reign of mortals. It is written in the Books of the Tao, chiseled into the Tablets of Fate, and etched into the minds of all of the prophets who walk upon the surface of Koth that one day the Demon Gate will bring about the doom of our world. Everything ends and everything begins, so it is said and so it is written. So shall the cycle continue to evolve and then perhaps a time will arise where there is no more war.”
-Rynthro of Candle Street in Northwater

Some claim that this realm we live in now is Hell; the old world died during the Age of Falling and the Demon Gate is a passage to the Black Plane where those vile monsters that inflict and revel in suffering reside. Many believe that they are changing our world, merging realms into one by crushing all who oppose. Flying the Narcadian flag the Stygian army is completing the Trials of Belial, Baal the Deceiver; he whom tricked us into believing that he was the one true God of creation. He now consumes the realm with the Vatagi under his wing, cambion warriors that are powerful half demons; they breathe hatred and lies to all mortals and promise salvation for their servitude. We are doomed, we dwell in a life of shadow where it feels hopeless and mortals live wicked lives. Are we to be punished by the sins of every mortal? Shall my children suffer the same fate as the thief, the rapist, the murderer? Where are the true Gods of Dawn and where are their armies to defend us? Perhaps this is Hell and the Veil is the first sign that it is happening? Where are our heroes?

For those interested in the game please check out www.arcanumsyndicate.com and you can even sign up to play a test run online in some of the Roll20 games. Thanks to all for the support and good gaming!

Modiphius' Infinity Roleplaying Game

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modiphius/corvus-bellis-infinity-roleplaying-game

http://www.modiphius.com/uploads/1/4/0/6/14062642/1570915_orig.jpg

.:The Goal:.
The Infinity universe was launched by Corvus Belli as a hugely-popular tabletop skirmish game in which sci-fi themed miniatures simulated futuristic battles across the alien battlefronts of Paradiso and the internecine conflicts of the Human Sphere. Before there was a skirmish game, though, there was an RPG: Infinity started life as a homemade RPG setting for the early roleplaying adventures of Corvus Belli founders Alberto, Carlos, Fernando, and Gutier. We've been playtesting the Infinity RPG with hundreds of people for the last 9 months, working hard to recapture the excitement of those first sessions and ensure that the feel of the Infinity universe will be captured in your own campaign!

This Kickstarter has funded the production of a beautiful full colour, hardback 368 page core rulebook for the roleplaying game. It will be sent out in PDF in December and the printed books in February 2016. We are also going to fund Faction supplements, campaign, amazing geomorphic tiles, custom dice, accessories, upgrades to increase the content in certain books and much more.

.:What is Infinity:.
In the twisted jungles of Paradiso, humanity fights for its survival. The fierce, alien warriors of the Combined Army have poured through the Acheron Gate, descending upon the emerald jungles of the newest colonial world in a seemingly unstoppable torrent. The bestial Morat pound the Paradiso Front, where brave men and women fight ceaselessly to maintain a desperate defensive line which the sly Shasvastii penetrate with devastating ease. In the star-swept skies above, the collected might of humanity’s armadas maintain a life-or-death blockade to cut off an endless horde of alien reinforcements. And if any of humanity’s fractious forces should falter, then all may be lost…

But beyond that terrifying holding action, the intrigues and adventures of the Human Sphere spin on. Space pirates cruise through the shattered planetoids of Human Edge. Scientist adventurers delve the oceans of Varuna. Merchant guilds scheme amidst the scourging sands of Bourak. From Yutang, the Emperor gazes forth from an uneasy throne. Titanic war machines stride across the icy plains of Svalarheima. Byzantine hypercorps struggle for dominance amidst the chrome towers of Neoterra.

For the last ten years, players have tested their mettle upon the battlefields of the Human Sphere in Corvus Belli’s hugely-popular Infinity skirmish game. Now you can expand your adventures, diving deep into the amazing, never-before-seen depths of the Infinity universe with the ultimate science fiction roleplaying game.

.:Modiphius' Team:.
Modiphius Entertainment was founded by Chris and Rita Birch, and has been running since the spring of 2013 when we launched the big award winning Achtung! Cthulhu RPG. We've since published 12 books, co-published 6 more (including the award winning Mutant: Year Zero) and created a line of miniatures and accessories. In 2014, we re-booted the epic Mutant Chronicles roleplaying game and mid September start shipping the first wave of 17 books with the beautiful 500 page core book and five supplements. This year we launched the Thunderbirds boardgame with Matt Leacock (Pandemic, Forbidden Island, Roll Through The Ages) based on the 50 year old iconic TV series and are shipping them later this month!

You will discover we really care about giving you excellent service, we try to answer questions quickly and work hard to keep a friendly and fun atmosphere. You are joining the Modiphius family - a large community of people passionate about the games we love.

I scanned over this page and it doesn't look like this was posted yet, sorry if it's a repeat.

Fellowship (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1552912590/fellowship-a-tabletop-adventure-game) is honestly one of the best tabletop games I've ever played. It's Tolkien fantasy, sort of, powered by the apocalypse from the creator of Inverse World. It started as a Dungeon World project, but has evolved a lot since it's beginnings and is now rebuilt for perfect genre emulation.

It has so many cool features, but here's some of the things I like best about it:

The Overlord: Instead of relying on a traditional gm/player relationship, Fellowship gives the gm there own playbook, just like a PC. The Overlord is essentially a class of its own for playing the BBEG, and makes it extremely easy to gm because your trying to fulfill the goals of this specific character, which provides a lot of guidance if you're not sure what to do.

Command Lore: The other thing that makes running this game very easy, and playing it very fun, is that each player has complete authority on the truth about their people. If you are playing the Elf, you get to decide whether the Elves are intergalactic conquerers or mysterious fae creatures. This also means the game, despite being heavily inspired by Lord of the Rings, actually allows for a lot more freedom in what flavor of fantasy you want to play with. The playbooks are your standard Tolkien characters of The Dwarf, The Elf, The Harbinger, The Halfling, The Heir, The Orc, and The Squire, but each player has tremendous power to turn those basic ideas into something as standard or as weird as they want.

The game is already funded, but it's on its way to some pretty amazing stretch goals. If you'd be at all interested in a fantasy tabletop game that emphasizes journeying to exciting places, befriending communities and helping them achieve their goals, and working to make your world a better place, please consider backing this game.

Hello all.

I'm going to plug my kickstarter to create a campaign setting ebook for a campaign setting I'm using on these boards as well as in an in person campaign. I want to convert the setting to 5e, and the funds are going to supplies for my testers, who are new to 5e. It would be awesome if thus got popular enough to warrant making a physical bookeyboard for the campaign setting, but I would be very pleased to get the supplies to thoroughly play test it.

Here is the link to the kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/519728677/bring-litrila-to-fifth-edition).

If interested, here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?441578-Mysteries-of-the-Grand-Resonance-(IC-Thread)) is the recruitment thread for the game on the board using this setting. The game has just started, but here is the IC (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?441578-Mysteries-of-the-Grand-Resonance-(IC-Thread)) as well.

Hey folks,

Cosm Games has launched the Crucible RPG over on Kickstarter. It's a game that focuses on moral development as the core advancement system, and uses coins as the core resolution mechanic.

One week in and we're 85% funded, so we're unlikely to go the way of the dodo! We have industry giants like Matt Stawicki contributing to art, original art available as pledges, custom designed coin sets for those who don't want to play with pocket change, and a lot of exciting ideas.

Check it out from the cosmgames.com website if any of this sounds like your cup of tea!

Thanks,

Found these on Kickstarter today, they both look pretty cool.

Headspace (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1991378332/headspace-rpg?ref=nav_search), by Mark Richardson: A cyberpunk game where all the PCs are mentally linked all the time. So yes, you can have lengthy conversations while holding your breath. (http://darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0006.html)

Masks (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1277034820/masks-a-new-generation?ref=nav_search), by Brendan G. Conway: A game about teenage superheroes. That's pretty much it, but it looks fun. Also, it's ending in three days.

Dungeon Crawl Classics (http://kck.st/1jDpAcz) is kickstarting a 4th printing of the rulebook, along with reprinting some out of print adventures.

I'm a total DCC noob, so it looks like a good time to get into it. There's still some other newbie tiers left, where you can get some added swag and an adventure in addition to the core book.

What's more, every adventure they fund as a stretch goal, every backer gets for free. If you're backing a physical book, this means probably 4 adventures (+1 for the newbie tier if you're finally giving DCC a try).

The Fortunes Wheel Kickstarter is here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1613337354/fortunes-wheel

Its for a Tarot based system and setting that allows for both traditional play and a range of other styles like GMless, improvised and even solo. There is an option for using dice if you hate cards as well. The game system helps GMs and players add an extra layer of interpretive story on top of action resolutions and helps inspire new and interesting directions in play.

The setting effectively allows for multiple word types and settings to slot right in to an overall meta-setting revolving around a small part of the English countryside that has been hidden away magically for centuries by a secret order to stop terrifying and dangerous ghost like creatures leaking into our reality.

Its a small Indie husband and wife team making it so its not got a big company financing it - this does mean they are currently offering most backers the print game at cost because they cant keep the funding total down and absorb print and shipping costs at the same time but they are also throwing in various free pdfs, not just when the game ships, but in future as well via a backer only forum area they will be setting up. This means ongoing freebies and bonuses not just one off ones.

Hi everyone - my new game Malandros is on Kickstarter right now (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1690011586/malandros-tales-from-the-streets-of-old-rio). It's a tabletop role-playing game of swindlers and street fighters, of love, hate and community – in the last days of imperial Brazil.

It's a standalone game powered by DramaSystem, with the Robin Laws "very cool" seal of approval.

The project is already funded and here's the current stretch goal situation:

UNLOCKED: £200: EPUB and MOBI versions + Supernatural Creatures
More ebook formats and a PDF mini-supplement based on Brazilian myths and legends, in case you want to add a soupcon of the strange to your game. The creatures will be illustrated by Claytonian, OSR artist and creator of The Wizardarium of Calibraxis.

UNLOCKED: £500: São Roque + Rio map
Adds a bonus PDF setting pack including pre-generated player characters and a write-up of the (fictional) São Roque district, its denizens, and related story seeds. The rulebook gets a custom-made map of 1889 Rio by Josephe Vandel.

UNLOCKED: £750: The Sydney Razor Gang Wars
An alternate setting PDF for the game - Australia's biggest city in the 1920s & 30s, when the rivalry between two crime queens led to blood in the streets.

NEXT STRETCH GOAL:
£1000: Aluminium Wars, an alternate setting PDF by Mark Galeotti
In 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed, and everything was up for grabs. In the industrial city of Krasnoyarsk, while the big beasts of the new gangster-businessman world fight it out for control of the local aluminium industry, corrupt cops, ambitious politicians, hustlers, thugs, and even a few idealists struggle to thrive and survive in a new Russia without rules, rhyme or reason.

£1200: Victorian London setting by Paula Dempsey
Take your game to the old East End of London with this mini-supplement about ne'er-do-wells and honest folk, whether Cockney born and bred or from further afield. More details to come!

£1400: Other Borders by Tod Foley
Journey into a modern world of ancient conflicts, where secret rituals, divinations, animal sacrifices and hallucinatory drugs are gateways to the other side. The people here move in two worlds, and reality is more flexible than it seems.

Look out for announcements soon on supplements for a Babylon 5-style gritty SF setting and some dreamy Lovecraft/Twin Peaks style weirdness in the city of Kingsport.

Hi gang! I’m Bruce Heard, the creator of Calidar, one of the top-rated game worlds on En-World. It is inspired from the Voyage of the Princess Ark stories I used to write for Dragon Magazine in the 80s and 90s. Some of you may remember me as the direction behind the D&D’s Mystara Gazetteers at old TSR. I wanted to invite you to watch a short (less than a minute) video about "Beyond the Skies," my new project for Calidar. This 220+ pg compendium tells all about gods, their spirit servants, and their foes, for use with any RPG. Click here to find out about it! Dear Giants in the Playground,

I have the pleasure of announcing that "Beyond the Skies" (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ambreville/calidar-beyond-the-skies) has met its initial funding goal. So, yes, a great book there will be! Thank you so much to all of you for making this possible, and in time before Christmas too. Now comes the next step of hitting the stretch goals. These are crucial because they increase the amount of internal art. The dream goal is one illustration for each of the 89 gods depicted in the book, plus artwork for the other chapters, which do represent a substantial part of "Beyond the Skies." Your generosity has made this ultimate goal possible. Kudos to you all!

At this point, it can only get better. Kickstarter does not actually complete a transaction until the project ends on January 7th 2016.

If you do not own the first book in the series, "Stranger Skies," you can obtain it through this Kickstarter campaign at a discount. The complete PDF files for "Stranger Skies" is listed there at an all-time low of $6.

You can also own two 60-page booklets in printed format which are only available to Kickstarter backers. They cannot be purchased after the crowdfunding campaign ends. Simply backing the project with a First Mate pledge level already earns you these two booklets in PDF format for free. Poster maps from "Stranger Skies" are also available at a discount. There is a limited supply of these poster maps. Once out of stock, they are unlikely to be reprinted. You can find all this under the project's "Add-Ons" header.

https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/005/100/175/bb0348dc68f997b7635485124c660028_original.png?v=14 50623507&w=639&fit=max&auto=format&lossless=true&

If you want one more more add-ons over and above the normal pledge for "Beyond the Skies," simply add the value of these add-ons manually to your pledge amount, along with any shipping fees listed in their descriptions. I'll contact you later via Kickstarter to confirm everything.

Thanks again for your interest and your support. Merry Christmas.

Second in the Calidar series, this 220+ pg compendium tells all about gods, their spirit servants, and their foes, for use with any RPG. Aside from listing gods, this book's contents further develop the Calidar fantasy setting and provide substantial material designed to enhance game play, such as divine powers for mortal followers based on their piety, secret brotherhoods, temple floor plans, etc.

I just found out that a Kickstarter for a new edition of Aaron Allston's Strike Force is in the works for 2016.

Here's the link. (http://www.herogames.com/index.html/_/store-items/press-release-aaron-allston%E2%80%99s-strike-force-kic-r100)

This isn't just a campaign sourcebook for a game you don't play.

This isn't just one of the best pieces of work by a legend in the gaming business.

This isn't just one of the first books to give proper practical GMing advice for creating a story with your players and keeping different gamer personality types happy at the same table.

This is a piece of history.

(OK, maybe that's hyperbole. But I'll still be backing it when it starts, and so should you. If you want to.)

Happy New Year to all of you!

I made a fortuitous and auspicious encounter a few days back, which resulted in more good news for Calidar's "Beyond the Skies" kickstarter. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ambreville/calidar-beyond-the-skies/posts/1453790) At this time, we're just a few hundred dollars from blowing past the 2nd stretch goal, which means more illustrations added to the book's contents.

As Calidar's crowdfunding reached new heights, I connected with the folks at BattleBards.com who kindly offered a free reward for Calidar's current and upcoming backers. This includes a custom Calidar Soundboard with 8-10 sound tracks. These tracks will enhance and add nuances to the experience of playing in the World of Calidar. The Soundboard provides easy access to the audio and the ability to organize and play tracks on-the-fly. They can be listened to individually or layered with multiple tracks for added effect.

http://www.enworld.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=72753&d=1451673155
This is a mockup image for the Calidar Soundboard

There is no access fee associated with this reward, which is offered to Calidar backers at First Mate or higher pledge levels. Battlebards successfully completed their own Kickstarter recently and is poised to launch their new service by the end of January 2016. Registration to qualify for the free rewards will begin by the end of Calidar's crowdfunding campaign, January 7th, and end on March 31st at midnight.

Battlebards.com is the most expansive tabletop sound library ever assembled, along with tools built specifically to use the audio masterfully during games. Tailor-made background music inspired by fantasy races, voiceover scripts written to bring life to everyday character interactions, and a colossal array of bone-crushing, spell-fire-blasting sound effects: this is immersive tabletop gaming at its best. Stay tuned for further updates on this subject.

Don't forget the extra reward at Admiral pledge level, which was another offer that came up during the crowdfunding effort. Joe Garcia, illustrator for "Beyond the Skies," kindly offered to sketch a free character for Admiral backers. This process will also start at the end of the crowdfunding campaign. As with the Battlebards offer today, Joe's generous contribution was announced via my earlier Kickstarter project update (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ambreville/calidar-beyond-the-skies/posts/1441448) (it isn't listed in the reward's description).

If you haven't backed Calidar "Beyond the Skies" as yet, there are just a few days left to do so. This new release goes beyond bringing to life fantasy gods, their personal relations, and politics between pantheons. It also provides a massive list of individual powers available to mortal followers, zealots, and priests (based on their piety levels), as well as divine favors encouraging desirable behavior, and divine wounds reflecting discontent among deities. "Beyond the Skies" unveils new information about world souls, the Dread Lands, native monsters, shamans of the tribes, spirits of nature, and seitha prospecting. Divine servants, demons, incarnates, and household godlings also make an appearance, along with a host of floor plans detailing temples and the lairs of secret brotherhoods, each an invitation to run adventures. Calidar's background dynamics involve a dark peril that threatens to destroy both the divine pantheons, the world souls, and the mortal universe, evoking a pervasive sense of impending doom.

This book is crucial for the understanding of Calidar as an RPG campaign setting because it fleshes out a lot of information about the ten realms of the Great Caldera and the origins of their peoples. In its own way, it qualifies as a macro-gazetteer. It will directly impact all future gazetteers, and thus is a must for fans of this game world. The pantheons are also designed in a such a way that they can be used in other game settings with minimal trouble. If you haven't jumped in yet, click here! Last Day for the Kickstarter!

#Calidar "Beyond the Skies" is fast approaching its next stretch goal and reaching the end of its crowdfunding campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ambreville/calidar-beyond-the-skies). Thank you everyone for your generous support!

Visitors who haven't yet jumped in: will you put some of yourself into this fabulous book and join the effort to commission more internal art? "Beyond the Skies" has already grown from 220 to 244 pages for everyone's enjoyment... will today add more?

Also...

Here's a fun preview of The World of Calidar's "Beyond the Skies," an EnWorld exclusive (http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?3123-Eagle-Riding-Knights-A-Last-Look-At-Bruce-Heard-s-BEYOND-THE-SKIES#.Vo0XyVlAqYQ) unveiling the flying seminary of an eagle-knights' order. This shows how a book about deities brings to life details on the realms of the Great Caldera, just like a gazetteer. That's something you can use as an adventure on Calidar or on any other game world...

Hi all,

We are not yet on kickstarter, since we are still in the development phase - and that is why we would LOVE to get some feedback from you, about art, directions, anything you can fathom.

We are very close to releasing an Alpha version of the game to be distributed to anyone willing to try the game out and give us feedback.

I would appriciate anyone visiting the site, checking up out and leaving a helpful comment, or any comment :)

Thank you,

Yaniv and Amit.

For starters, you might run into problems by using the name Myst.

I'm loving the art, though. Very catchy. Good design on the webpage, too.

Oathsworn Miniatures has launched their newest Kickstarter campaign: Heroines in Sensible Shoes, 28mm Miniatures for roleplaying. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oathsworn/heroines-in-sensible-shoes-28mm-miniatures-for-rol)

We want to start a new range of female adventurer miniatures for use in roleplaying games and tabletop skirmishes, or simply for painters and collectors.

Although there are loads of male miniatures available already, there are a lot less female ones... and they tend to be split between overly sexualised chainmail bikini types, or high-level characters with ornate armour and weapons.

So we decided to sculpt some no-nonsense, low level female dungeoneers; armed and equipped so they can head down a kobold-infested tunnel without chafing their thighs....

I've backed a few of their miniatures Kickstarters before and have always been impressed and satisfied with the minis.

Hey everyone, some former classmates of mine have just launched their Kickstarter for Mysteries of the Yokai (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/warding-circle/mysteries-of-the-yokai-an-rpg-inspired-by-japanese), a tabletop RPG set in mythic Japan. If you were at Orca-Con, you may have seen them around when they were demo-ing. (Why am I posting here rather than them? Well, aside from helping out on minutia, I really believe in the project :P)

System-wise it's got a great conflict resolution system which lets you engage in multiple types of conflict, such as physical(a straight-up fight), mental(a battle of wits or solving puzzles), and social(such as negotiating a contract or a courtroom scene), and uses a surprisingly intuitive character building system where you buy into "packages" of different skills rather than into specific classes. I can't do the system justice in a forum post, but if you check it out, I'd be happy to answer any questions you've got!

The alpha version of City of Myst is out. Please check it out at cityofmyst.com and let us know your thoughts.

City of Myst is a new RPG about street-level individuals who become gateways for mythical forces trying to manifest in a dark and mysterious modern city.

Delve into the fog-shrouded streets of the city in search for answers, engage in cinematic super-powered clashes, and weather the drama of the inner conflict between everything you know and love and the Mythos trying to manifest through you.

Tag-based characters allow for creative gameplay
Rules-light Apocalypse Engine mechanics make your game more about the cinematics
Conflicting Mythos and mundane aspects constantly drive you to explore your character's edge
A film-noirish urban setting with cases ranging from small-time private investigations to full-blown conspiracies, all connected by an overarching mystical theme

For those unaware, noted game designer John Wick is finally revisiting one of his most beloved creations after 15 years. 7th Sea is a game set in a fantastical analogue of 18th century Europe, inspired by and modeled after swashbuckling classics such as The Three Musketeers, The Princess Bride, Zorro, and so on. Whether the heroes find themselves embroiled in political intrigue in the decadent courts of Montaigne, stalked by fearsome monsters in the black forests of Eisen, crossing swords with stylish Vodacce assassins, or sailing the seas in search of plunder, the emphasis has always been on dramatic storytelling and just plain fun. It's a great setting with easy to learn mechanics.

Anyhoo, the Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/johnwickpresents/7th-sea-second-edition) to fund the new edition launched this morning, and was funded in seven minutes! I'm very excited about this, and highly encourage everyone to check it out. For a dollar, you can download a preview adventure to get a feel for if it's something you'd like.

Hi I'm Conor and this behind me (I swear he's there) is Joe and we are Gemhammer & Sons Gaming. We've been playing Tabletop Roleplaying Games for over a decade and while we love fantasy and dice rolling and character sheets, there are many things that our hobby needs to be more engaging. Frankly, the idea of drawing a playing card from a deck, checking a chart to find out which Many Things Card it is, and then checking another chart to figure out the Spell Effect is just way too much time. Time that takes away from Roleplaying and stabbing things with swords.

We're doing what we can to fix that with the Gemhammer Deck of Many Things. The first and only Deck of Many things to feature beautiful full-color artwork and the full spell effect on each Tarot sized card. Please check out our Kickstarter (link below) and tell your friends. This is our first project, and we hope it to be the first of many. Thanks in advance

The short answer is "No, the Deck of Illusions was just a gag for the video." The slightly longer answer is that we at Gemhammer are committed to creating products that help players and GMs play better games. The Deck of Many Things with spell effects right on the card, for instance, eliminates the need for tables and charts. We couldn't find a way to make a Deck of Illusions that served the same purpose.

That said, if people like the Art Style, we will definitely consider a product like this in the future.

This kickstarter has completely exploded since it went live. (In a good way!) It's at nearly $450,000 already and broke the Day 1 RPG record on Kickstarter.

It's been completely crazy and if you're not in already, you're getting a crazy amount of good stuff for your dollar.

Yeah, for anyone even remotely interested in RPG's the $40+ level is a steal. All 1st ed books alone are worth far more, as many are impossible to find, and the sheer amount of content is overwhelming that has been stretch goaled.

I've been championing 7th Sea for over a decade, I haven't been this excited about an RPG kickstarted since Exalted 3

Good Evening,

My name is Conor and I represent Gemhammer & Sons Gaming, a Boston based game design company. We are a group of like-minded gamers and artists who wish to make sure that players and Game Masters have the products and services they need to make Game Night the best night of the week.

Hi guys,

I suppose most people on this forum already know this, but just in case - Conan the RPG (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modiphius/robert-e-howards-conan-roleplaying-game?ref=category) is on Kickstarter now. They have a good art team behind the books. The mechanics that I have seen in the quick start seem simple and solid enough.

Since I don't see it here, Godbound (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1637945166/godbound-a-game-of-divine-heroes) is an OSR-based game about playing newborn deities from the creator of Stars Without Number. It funded on Kickstarter within 18 hours of launch and reached it's final stretch goal today (that's just how Kevin Crawford does Kickstarters; he doesn't want to promise things he isn't absolutely sure he can deliver on).

Hello guys,

I want to present you a project to import in English a French RPG: Polaris. I’m not a member of the project, just a French fan of the game who is very interested by sharing a very good game (and full color) to the English-speaking people (and still the French-speaking as this CF is bilingual)

I will let you search on the Kickstarter site the Polaris RPG project (I'm not allowed to give you a link, and I don't want to spam the forum for being able to do it).

The game (Kickstarter presentation): The Polaris RPG is set in a far future where the world above ground has become uninhabitable for the human species. Human beings have found refuge in the depths of the ocean, where they try to somehow survive in spite of the many difficulties they encounter in this hostile environment. The species’ degeneration (characterized by the increasing number of sterile individuals and various genetic mutations), the perpetual wars that have ravaged entire colonies, the monsters, and, above all, the difficulty of exploiting natural resources are the immediate problems faced by this civilization.

The game (my presentation): Polaris has a great universe (there isn't so much RPG with a submarine world), which offer you the possibility to play a various game type as political, exploration or combat in some very differenciates environments (city vs submarine, huge city vs small station, military country vs pirate land, etc.). So I'm pretty sure that you can find a piece of this world that will please you.

The project creator (kickstarter presentation): BlackBook Edition (BBE) are the French publishers of the award-winning Pathfinder RPG and many other great RPG's in their French version (Shadowrun, Numenéra, Savage Worlds, Deadlands, Eclipse Phase, etc.) as well as several very well established French RPGs from their authors (Polaris, Chroniques Oubliées, Pavillon Noir, etc.) and the biggest and oldest RPG magazine in France, Casus Belli.

BBE (my opinion): BBE have now a lot of experience concerning the crowdfunding (they even create their own platform to do their CF), so I think you can trust them concerning the results (delivery estimated for August 2016). They produce a very good work: as a fan of the Polaris RPG (I have the 3 versions), I think it was a great news when BBE publish the third version of this game. And now they bring the 3.1 version in English. Note the Paizo will be the distributor for BBE in the US.

Current Crowdfunding status:

*Funded!

*Specific design dice set unlocked as an add-on

*Free conversion to savage world rules PDF

*Better paper for the books (115gsm instead of 90gsm)

*Kickstarter “project we Love”

Hello everyone. I'm working on a tabletop rpg app that's live on Kickstarter called InfinitasDM.

The basic premise of the app is to bridge the gap between virtual tabletops and physical ones. Rather than replace the table and move everyone online, InfinitasDM looks to take the power of digital tools to the table.

Create campaigns full of well organized maps, fill them with lore, quests, npcs and encounter documents, and link to those documents straight from the map. Import existing maps, capture new maps with your device's camera, or create entirely new maps from scratch with the app's drawing style map tools.

The Kickstarter Page has a great rundown on the app, but for even more detail on how the app will function check out our website. I can't post any links until I make some more posts here, but you can find them both in my forum profile (they should also show up pretty quickly from a web search).

We're coming up on about the 60% mark both in funding and in campaign time with $17,000+ already pledged. We were also featured twice on The Escapist! Both articles should come up at the top of a search for "infinitas dm escapist." I'll edit this post to include links as soon as I am able to.

Thanks for having a look! If you have any questions or feedback feel free to reach out to me here, on the Kickstarter page, or at dans[at]atomswitch.com

I'm somewhat intrigued by the Instant Aliens (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lordpelius/instant-aliens/description) kickstarter running now, partly just because I like generators on a grand scale. As far as I can tell, it's an expansion to the Instant Universe (http://drivethrurpg.com/product/153512/Instant-Universe?src=DotD&from_home=1) product from the same author. I don't know much about this author, or much else about the project.

Not really sure if this counts as crowd funding, as I am releasing the content for free but accepting donations, but i am currently in the process of writing several small modules for Call of Cthulhu 7e.

3 are complete and available for download here (www.patreon.com/The_Fool).

Rifts for Savage Worlds

Rifts is a sprawling game world more than 25 years in the making, originally produced by Palladium Books. Recently, Pinnacle Entertainment Group has gotten a license to release a port of the game world to their popular Savage Worlds game system. The project launched this morning, but has already overfunded (to the point where all the stretch goals they developed are also funded). Pinnacle has an excellent reputation of delivering on time, and for those who've been curious about Rifts but reluctant to learn their system, this can be your in.

I backed at the $45 level, getting a bunch of PDFs of game material... enough to run a game and have material for easy conversions.

Hey gamers! Do you ever have those game nights when you are waiting for one or two friends to show up and you want to play something to kill time while you wait? Sometimes it is tough to know what game to grab. You don’t want to start a game that could last until an hour after your other friends show up, because then they’re mad at you for making them sit and wait while you play!

We have created the perfect game for this and any other situation when you need that strategic game fix filled and don’t have a lot of time. Jack the Ripper is a social / sleuthing game similar to games like Werewolf and Mafia that plays 3 to 5 players and is complete in 2 to 15 minutes!

Please look for us on KICKSTARTER under the name Jack the Ripper and check out our videos of actual play too.

Thanks for reading and don’t hesitate to drop me (Ty Rucker) a line with any questions or comments.

Happy gaming!

My favourite RPG author (Caleb Stokes) is running a kickstarter for his new system "Red Markets". It's doing good and has already funded, but I want the stretch goals to pile up so I'm talking about the game here.

LINK to RedMarkets Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/159466030/red-markets)

Red Markets is a game of economic horror, where the world has ended and the rent is still due. The zombie apocalypse finally came and the world didn't end. Just the part you are in. And now your job is to do jobs, shooting zombies and looting the wasteland until you can scrap together enough bitcoins and bounty to bribe your way over the quarantine walls and back into civilisation.

It's a whole new system, made from scratch specifically built to run just this type of game. And it does it well. There are at least 3 full campaign of beta-playtest that can be found online as actual plays. One that I will link to here (http://actualplay.roleplayingpublicradio.com/tag/the-brutalists/). And there is also a 12 part podcast series about the making of the game. That I will link to here. (http://slangdesign.com/rppr/category/game-designer-workshop/)

I'm currently excited about Strange Magic 2 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1394597776/strange-magic-2-new-magic-systems-for-pathfinder-d), a supplement for both Pathfinder and D&D 5e. I'm not affiliated with the project or Interjection Games, aside from the fact that I am backing it (and have backed both previous IG Kickstarter projects).

The main features are three original subsystems and classes to go along with the subsystems. Each subsystem was previously featured in its own product, and Strange Magic 2 collects and expands all of the previous material. Based on my experience using previous works by this author, I think Bradley Crouch's subsystems tend to be self-contained (you don't need to be familiar with other IG subsystems, or any supplements from WotC or Paizo). Strange Magic 1 is a lot like 3.5 Tome of Magic, (but with more thorough play-testing and editing), and Strange Magic 2 looks to be in a similar format. Of the three new subsystems for SM2, I've only gotten the chance to play one with one of them so far (the Omnyoji).

Here's the relevant thread on the Paizo forums (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2trz0?Interjection-Games-Strange-Magic-2-launches), which the author checks and in which he can answer questions.

Hey folks,

Just wanted to drop a line here to let you know our Kickstarter for our epic fantasy tabletop RPG Unity went live last week and can be found HERE (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/215931791/unity-tabletop-rpg?utm_source=gitp&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=media)

We funded in the first 48 hours and are now working our way towards some stretch goals.

http://www.unity-rpg.com/images/BeccaProSmall.jpg (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/215931791/unity-tabletop-rpg?utm_source=gitp&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=media)

Unity is set in a crumbling world where the four major races that exist there have been punished by their Creator and are now left for dead. It’s a game about setting aside differences and coming together to face a threat that transcends their existing animosity with each other. To this end, the unique combat system promotes linking your abilities together with your party members to overcome difficult encounters. Turns and grids have been removed so that the tactical focus is on working together and finding creative ways to utilize your powers. There are narrative mechanics in play that promote a richer storytelling experience such as a story based skill system, and meta-currencies for cinematic scene painting.

The core mechanic is rolling a 2d10 versus a target number to determine success. There's also a free 43 page sample of the Core Rulebook (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/186363/Unity-Free-Sampler?src=GITP83) available for download.

http://www.unity-rpg.com/images/Furian3page.png

The end product will be a gorgeous 330+ page hardcover book filled with stunning artwork and a whole new world for you to discover.

Worldographer (AKA Hexographer 2) Kickstarter is Funded, hitting stretch goals to add more icons and features at no extra cost! (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inkwellideas/worldographer-hexographer-2-easy-map-world-creator)

http://inkwellideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/sample_map_1-rev-ks.png

The rewrite of Hexographer updates the program to a better/newer user interface and a more defined data model. This allows us to:

Better “child maps” feature. Create a world map and from that same map create a continent level map as well as a kingdom level map. It will remain one file so most changes to one level map will be reflected in the others.
Hexographer’s rather simple “note” functionality can expand to allow you to detail each location as well as things about your world not tied to a location: religions, cultures, important NPCs, etc. It becomes an interactive Gazetteer!
We’re adding an entirely new, more realistic icon set to the software.
Have undo/redo functionality.
Polygons, Lines, Ovals, etc. have more options for shadows and textures.
Easy drag and drop of labels and features: Most apps make this tricky, but we’re improving it.
Icosohedral Maps have been planned into Worldographer from the beginning.
Configuration of new terrain, features, and textures is much easier. (Just drop files to a specific folder.)
The new user interface framework gives the software a cleaner look.
Mini-generators create details for notes about cities, castles, ruins, etc.
Import Hexographer 1 files.

Hey! I'm the founder of Mobilescape Adventures - a new company launching on Kickstarter next week founded by two theater artists and gamers. mobilescapeadventures.com

As gaming fanatics, we LOVE miniatures, terrain, and scenery...but as cool as all of that stuff is, there's often way to much to pack in a bag and take with you to your friend's house, apartment, or wherever your games take place. We wish that we could set up elaborate game boards, even when we are on the go.

Therefore, we decided to create our own terrain system. All of our pieces are flat-pack and assemble with clips that should be familiar to most gamers. Most pieces are double sided, and we've designed our packs to include the elements needed most when playing role playing games. When you switch from a forest to a town setting, we want you to have the pieces on-hand to tell that story.

This is our FIRST Kickstarter campaign, so this project is just one of many great ideas we want to bring to the gaming community.

Thank you!

Mobilescape Adventures - Tabletop RPG Terrain

We have launched our Kickstarter!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/997759108/mobilescape-adventures

A brief history of how we started. We were looking for terrain we could use during D&D sessions. There are so many cool products out there, but they lacked the portability we needed. We were feeling encumbered by all the books and gear we were dragging around, and large blocky terrain only added to the problem. We’ve create terrain that is portable, packs flat, while still being dimensional. We also wanted to eliminate the need to cut, glue, or paint. Available to support on Kickstarter now are our: Starter Pack, Dungeon Pack, House Pack, and a Tower Pack.

Hi everyone!

My name is Chris and I am the creative lead of Skirmish! Virtual Tabletop. I came here today to tell you a bit about our RPG software and to announce the launch of our Kickstarter campaign which went live on October 25th, 2016. I am aware that Skirmish! is an electronic product; however the idea behind it is to support traditional role-playing games so I hope this is the correct thread to post in.

https://i.imgsafe.org/28b2dc5d9e.jpg

After our first Kickstarter attempt last year we have worked hard to increase exposure, further improve our software and we spent a lot of time catering the Skirmish! experience to actual user needs. To this end we started running an open beta period of Skirmish! VT in March 2016 which allowed us to get valuable feedback from actual users. The open beta period has now ended and we have taken our time to work a lot of user suggestions into a heavily revised Kickstarter campaign. This new Kickstarter campaign is online now:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1569088261/1746585226?token=1b762137

We firmly believe that there is a lot of potential in Skirmish! VT and we hope that you’ll find something in our campaign that sparks your interest.

Thanks a lot for your attention,

Chris

SHADOWS OF ESTEREN: DEARG, A STORY OF LOVE, DESPAIR, BEAUTY AND DEATH, NOW ON KICKSTARTER

Dark Fantasy RPG Gets New Rulebook with Innovative New Game Mechanics and Concepts Designed to Put Players Face To Face With Their Inner Demons

PARIS, FRANCE (October 27, 2016) – Agate RPG, publisher of the award-winning Shadows of Esteren, announces today plans for Shadows of Esteren: Dearg, the third rulebook for the fan-favorite medieval horror roleplaying game and the launch of the Kickstarter to fund the publishing of this new must-have tome. The Dearg Kickstarter is now live and runs through November, 17th, 2016.

Shadows of Esteren: Dearg puts players at the heart of the game’s narrative in a 500-page, hardcover essential rulebook to be published in two volumes and introduces three new innovative concepts to the world of Shadows of Esteren; Narrative Arcs, Focuses and Modular Scenarios.

Players will define a narrative arc for their character centered on the main themes of Love, Ethics, Guilt and Adoption. Through 21 scenarios, Player Characters are at the heart of the narrative, their own personal stories becoming critical components of the game’s dramatic tension. While the PCs are involved in the same quest, each member of the party has their own history and motivations. Among the campaign’s 21 scenarios, six are Focuses that will explore each PC’s intimate story, ultimately affecting the direction of the game. Modular Scenarios are comprised of several modules exploring various facets of a theme or character and offer the Game Leader several ways the scenario can evolve. Each module is symbolized by a tarot card drawn from Dearg’s tarot and by connecting the modules the Game Leader can create a story of their own.

“Dearg is the result of nearly 10 years of development,” says Agate RPG Creative Director Nelyhann. “Shadows of Esteren players will experience a story that will change their vision of the world of Esteren and bring them ever-closer to its dark secrets and to their own inner demons.”

The Shadows of Esteren: Dearg Kickstarter campaign offers several pledge levels, including one designed specifically for newcomers to Shadows of Esteren and one for veteran players of the game, as well as a slew of limited edition bonuses, stretch goals and add-ons. Dearg accessories include a complete soundtrack recorded by the Budapest Symphonic Orchestra, the Shadows Tarot Deck and game aids such as art prints, maps and scenario synopses.

Since its first Kickstarter campaign in 2012, Shadows of Esteren has received more than a dozen awards for its art, production value and cartography, earned a silver ENnie Award for Product of the Year and has thousands of devoted players worldwide.

Shadows of Esteren is a medieval roleplaying game with horrific and gothic overtones in a dark, low fantasy setting. Drawing inspiration from Celtic myths, this universe has a subtle fantastic side hidden under a bleak, realistic surface. The Shadows of Esteren world is populated by men and women trudging through daily lives whiles also struggling with supernatural threats lurking in the dark. With the focus of its adventures being investigation and survival, Shadows of Esteren favors immersion and interaction among the players.

Hey guys, Me and a friend have been working on a few adventures these last few years, and we finally felt that they are ready to share with the public.
This is our first KS project and we'd love some feedback both on the project itself and on the adventures!

A bit about the adventures:

The Beast of Broly is a high difficulty, high intensity investigation mystery adventure. This adventure is completely freeform diceless, and that means the players have only their wits and acumen to pull them through this adventure.

The Terror of the Machine is a modular dungeon crawl, for 5th edition. This adventure is meant for levels 8-10, and is full of really challenging puzzles for the characters to solve. This dungeon crawl is perfect if your looking for something that gets more difficult if you try to force your way through it, but easier if the players actually put some thought into it.

Internal Conflict is a joint control adventure, in which all players play parts of one mans shattered psyche. this adventure comes with its own unique system that is great for running all sorts of joint control adventures.

Anyways, all the adventures have been playtested a LOT throughout the years, and we are very confident that everybody will find something to enjoy in this adventure bundle.
You can find the project by searching for "The Freelancing Roleplayers adventure Three-pack" on kickstarter!

Thanks for your time, feedback, and support!

Hi folks. I am creating cross-platform map-making software (for Windows and macOS), suitable for creating both print-resolution maps and lower-resolution maps suitable for use with virtual tabletop software. It's called MapForge (http://www.mapforge-software.com/), and it will be sort of a spiritual successor to Dundjinni, but with a greater focus on stitching maps together from pre-existing map tiles and then customizing the resulting map (with additional decorations, etc.) to suit the GM's particular needs.

http://www.mapforge-software.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/MapForge-Interface-Mockup-v2-Menu-1024x614.png

MapForge should appeal to GMs of face-to-face game sessions and to those using any VTT software, who want to create their own slick-looking battlemaps to visually enrich their RPG sessions (in any genre), but who find existing mapping programs (including image-editing tools such as Gimp and Photoshop) too intimidating/confusing/expensive.

I am currently running a Kickstarter campaign (http://kck.st/2ldOJOn) to fund the program's development. The software will be priced to be very accessible/affordable, probably $30 or so, but it's just $27 during the Kickstarter campaign. And to help offset the cost even more, there will be at least 9 free content Add-Ons for it, covering various genres. MapForge will also offer a free level of use, so having a license won't be required to make maps with it.

Version 1.0 of MapForge should be ready to go on sale in July 2017. Shortly after that, MapForge will also have the ability to generate random "dungeon" layouts via Donjon (https://donjon.bin.sh/d20/dungeon/).

I hope you will all take a minute to check out the project, play around with the downloadable prototype, and if you like what you see, tell your GM friends about it.

Thanks!

--Hernan (aka Heruca)

Edit:
New Stretch Goals added, by backer request.

http://www.mapforge-software.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Stretch-Goal-1-6-Scrolls.png

MapForge is now aiming for the record of highest funded map-making software project on Kickstarter (currently in 3rd place). But with only 3 days remaining, it's going to be a challenge. Click here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/mapforge-battlemap-creation-software-for-tabletop/posts/1835139) for more info.

Hey! My project, Kaigaku: The Ruined Kingdom, is a 7-day challenge Kickstarter campaign, available here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1059971838/kaigaku-rpg-the-ruined-kingdom). It's an adventure for the Kaigaku RPG that's compatible with both WhiteBox and the Black Hack. Picture Legends of the Colossus meets The Great Wall (minus Matt Damon) and you've got the right idea. The project is nearly at its funding goal. If you pledge at 25 dollars you get the adventure when it comes out, plus the core book immediately after the campaign concludes. Stretch goals will fund up to two more books. Let's make Kaigaku the best samurai RPG that it can be!

Thankfully KS approved the new campaign in record time - and it is jam-packed with loads of extras for anyone that returns to back or backed Meanders 1. You can get over 100+ high quality for $25 with new stretch goals adding 8 additional free maps, with 4 days to go.

The MapForge Kickstarter campaign is down to the last 8 hours!

Closing in on 1800 backers. All Stretch Goals unlocked (again!).

MapForge is now officially the highest-funded mapping software project on Kickstarter, by a decent margin.

Read this Update (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/mapforge-battlemap-creation-software-for-tabletop/posts/1839200) if you've been on the fence. It might just change your mind.

Always try to end on a high note, they say. :)

For those who haven't been paying attention to your hypernet feeds, there's an RPG coming out set in the world of the long-running, hilarious, and often sharp-witted webcomic Shlock Mercenary -- the Planet Mercenary RPG.

The Kickstarter for the core project ran some time ago, but they've got a new project that went live today...

the Deluxe RPG "Handbrain" Screen (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/howardtayler/deluxe-rpg-handbrain-screen/description).

About this project

Do you run role-playing games?

If you're a Game Chief (or game master, or dungeon master), you probably already have some sort of screen that lets you keep secrets from your players. You probably have several. You do not, however, have anything like this.

These Game Chief screens are designed for half-sheets of 8.5x11" or A4 paper, so you can take whatever information you need and print it or even hand-write it, then prop it up in front of you. You can also pick up a screen and hand it to a player at the table, as if to say "here is the contract you've acquired." Or you can flip it around and use it as a dry-erase tablet.

The screens are made of sturdy ABS plastic. If you're determined to break one, you can, but the player who clumsily (or angrily) knocks one off the table is going to be very relieved (or disappointed) when the screen bounces and clatters and takes zero falling damage.

Each screen can hold up to six sheets of 8.5x11 paper folded in half. The upper left corner has a pin dock suitable for a hypernet node pin (yellow map pin), and the reverse side of the screen functions as a dry-erase board. The screen it can be mounted with either the dry-erase or drop-in side facing you, and it can be lifted from its "foot" and reversed with one hand.
With the feet removed, a set of three screens packs flat for easy transportation and storage.

These were designed to stand at an easy-to read angle, while still serving their primary function as a privacy screen that hides your die rolls from players. They're also balanced so they won't tip over—not forward, not backward, nor to either side—even when fully loaded.

If you missed the original campaign, you can add on the Planet Mercenary RPG core book in your pledge for this item.

Even if you're not interested in the Planet Mercenary RPG itself (IMO, you should be), these screens will be great gaming accessories for any tabletop RPG, even more so for those modern-era or science-fiction campaigns.

I'm guessing that they'll make the stretch goals, too. The comic is popular, the original campaign blew away its goals, and they're already halfway to the main goal after less than a day.

(Hope I get this right, read the rules post up top and I think I'm OK... search function didn't turn up any related terms in this thread. Will edit if needed.)

UPDATE -- they've hit the base goal and the first stretch goal. So, the Handbrains are sure to be made, and we're getting full art and layout in the adventure module PDF that's an add-on.

If they make the next goal, the PDF will be turned into an actual, physical book.

EDIT: Two items.

First, the Kickstarter campaign for ends during the day on Friday, so you still have a few more days. The next stretch goal for the physical book version of the adventure PDF is within reach. (If you can't tell, I really want the book version to happen.)

Second, the PDF version of the Planet Mercenary RPG is slated to start selling on RPG Drive Thru this week.

Hello all, I just wanted to let everyone know I've shifted the focus of my Patreon from a webcomic to OSR gaming and paper mini content. So far the minis have been orcs on boars, various cultists, halflings riding dogs, that sort of thing, but patrons also gained access to the release of the sci fi themed Extrastellar paper minis last month. This month (June) the theme is "girl power" in a nod to the Wonder Woman movie so there will be female monsters such as orcs, kobolds, gnolls and a sphinx.
Patronage allows access to an archive of earlier releases.

Set in the mythic bronze age, the RPG The Lost Age aims to evoke stories akin to those of Olympian heroes like Perseus and Greek epics like The Odyssey.

http://i.imgur.com/YPiAfCX.png

Developed by an old gaming buddy of mine, I've helped him playtest this game over the years and we're now ready to bring it to market! The RPG uses a special system developed specifically to mesh well with the bronze-age setting; this isn't a simple reskin of an existing system, it was built from the ground-up to create dynamic and interesting combat. The system is actually be favorite part of the game; there's a risk-reward mechanic called Second Wind where you can push yourself to accomplish great feats of herosim, but if you overextend a crafty enemy can take advantage of that and deal you a crippling blow. If that sounds at all interesting you should check it out!

Hello, I'd like to introduce everyone to the game that I designed, Overkill. It's a quick to play roleplaying game designed to make you feel like an action movie star. Instead of regular dice it uses playing cards, with rolls substituted for sleights similar to a Blackjack hand. If you're interested you can download the current version of the game here (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw-_tU2jrDr2c0RMNlpNUzZ2SUE). I appreciate anyone who takes the time to look at my kickstarter or look at the game.

First of all, a couple of entertaining comics from these guys:

Thieves Can't (http://ramen-empire.com/strip/thieves-cant/)
Ramen Empire (http://ramen-empire.com/strip/afterglow_cover/)

In particular, Thieves Can't is a comic set within a game of D&D... one of its taglines is "Roll A Saving Throw Versus Meta".

The first story arc of Thieves Can't is the subject of a Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/529651417/thieves-cant-a-meta-comic-book-about-tabletop-gami/description), to be turned into a print comic, including some extra features not seen in the web version. Check it out.

Three days remain in the Dark Eras 2 Kickstarter! Currently, we are $2234 from the next stretch goal to add another era to the book. There is also one open pledge remaining at $750 that would allow you to be privy to the development of the book, if anyone is interested. The more backers there are, the sweeter the deal is for everybody.

Current Eras:

Vampire/Demon French Revolution
Werewolf/Geist WWI Western Front
Mage/Deviant Scientific Revolution
Promethean/Changeling Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
Hunter/Mummy Qing China
Vampire/Beast Islamic Golden Age
Mage/Geist Golden Age of Piracy
Roman Arthurian Britannia

The current poll is between Second Intermediate Period Egypt, Greco-Persian Wars, and Steamboat Mississippi. There are also 5 expansion pledges (one is mine) that add an extra gameline to an era, 2 ressurection pledges that bring back options that didn't get voted in, and one era Creator that gets to add their own original idea to try book. All in all, there is a to get out of a $20 PDF. Likewise, the $50 hardcopy is going to be much cheaper than getting a print-on-demand copy later.

ALSO, if this sounds interesting but you've never played Chronicle of Darkness before, the 2e corebooks are on sale as stretch goals for $10, which is a steal of a deal. Each is self contained, all you need to play is that rulebook.

Check it out here:

So many tiles!

Thats:

18 Unique Rooms

Over 40 Colour Variant Rooms

4 Multi Part Room Sections

Over 50 Corridor Sections

Single and Double Wide Doors

*Plus any and stretch goals or additions gained over the course of the campaign.

Rewards

And the best bit, besides supporting a fellow tabletop gamer, is that the pledge is only $6 for everything! No confusing tiers or sneaky "add-ons", just one pledge to rule them all. The rewards will come in two flavours: PDF and DOCX. PDF for those that just want to hit print and start building and DOCX for those that want to customize there print. The DOCX files will allow backers to make the most of their ink and paper, by deleting the tiles they don't want and duplicating the
ones they do want. The DOCX format also allows you to tweak the layout so every page is packed with tiles.

Stretch Goals

For every $100 over the funding goal we'll be adding additional multi-part rooms. Our next two stretch goals at $250 and $500, which will add gooey slime tiles and flooded tiles respectively.

Campaign Start and end dates

We launched on 9/14/17 and the closing date is 10/13/17.

Who is Red Leaf Games?

Red Leaf Games is small independent games company with big ideas. This is our first kickstarter, and if all goes well we hope to make it the first of many. We've already hit our funding goal for the Forgotten Tomb but we still need your help, the community's help. The success of a kickstarters all depends on word of mouth, and it's people like us and our community that have made so many games and game accessories a reality by a quick post here or a tweet there. So swing on by, show some support and spread the word.

I'm sharing a Kickstarter that I'm backing called Epic Digital Tabletop Art Core Set. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/epictabletopart/epic-digital-tabletop-art-core-set/description)

I love digital tabletops.

Like most things worth doing this started as a passion project. For years I wanted to make art that did our tabletop rpg sessions justice.

Maps and player icons hand drawn in a consistent isometric style that you can use to create your own adventures in digital tabletop software such as Roll20. Core set includes huge maps, encounter areas, interior and exterior areas, player icons, monster icons, loot, traps, and spell effects.

You can pledge just for maps or pledge to get the art assets separate so you can make your own stuff.

Orbis Mundi 2 is an updated version of Orbis Mundi: An Annotated Guide to Aspects of the Medieval World which was originally launched in 2006 and is currently a Popular Silver Pick on RPGNow and DriveThruRPG.

Orbis Mundi 2 expands on and adds to the material covered and will consist of two separate Books - A Guide to real Medieval Life, which is largely complete and runs to ~450 pages, and The Marketplace, which is still being written, but is expected to run to at least ~96 pages of annotated Price Lists and some generic rules for all types of equipment likely to be found in a historical-ish Medieval world ... OM1 was 112 pages, of which ~60 comprised the annotated price lists.

Book 1 is especially aimed at GMs and Players who have become aware that the version of 'medieval' or 'feudal' western societies presented in virtually all Fantasy RPGs is based more on Hollywood movies and outdated information from the equivalent of glossy coffee-table 'text' books than on what it was actually like and who would like to at least know what the reality was ... even if they may not want to include all of it in their campaigns.

OM2 is intended to provide the nitty-gritty details a GM can drop into their campaign world to make it more 'real' for their players … using as much or as little of what is provided as they see fit.

The eight main Chapters are –

City & Country, which is divided into four subsections, Cities & Civics (Town Organisation, Markets, The Cityscape, Civic Militia and Garrisons, Guilds & Guild Organisation); Village & Villein (Types of Manors, Manorial Officials, The Manorscape); Res Rustica aka 'Agriculture' (The Farmer's Year, Farming, Stock Raising, Food & Famine) and Highways & Byways (The Natural Dimension [Forests, Wasteland, Wildlife], The Human Dimension [Demographics; Highways, Roads & Bridges; Ports, Sea & River Travel]) … ~75 pages.

As it says, this Chapter covers all aspects of City and Rural living and organisation (but not the Feudal System, nor a detailed look at Law and Justice, both of which are covered in the next Chapter, Kingdoms & Crowns), the places, people and officials you'll find in these locales, the crops that were grown, how and where they were cultivated and stored, and the ubiquity of famine (fortunately, rarely in the same place every year) as well as the 'wilder' side of things, the wildlife that you'll find away from the settled areas (and what wildlife you won't find), the demographics of a medieval society (life expectancy, morbidity and mortality etc.) and the important topic of Travel, covering the nature of roads and highways and land transport, Ports and Sea Transport in general terms (more information on each of those key areas can be found in Ars Mechanica: Mercaturia).

Kingdoms & Crowns, which is divided into three subsections, Lords & Vassals (Feudalism, English Feudalism, French Feudalism, Other Feudalisms); Law & Justice (Law & Justice in England , Law & Justice in Europe [Civil vs Customary Law]); and Bullion & Budgets (Money & Coinage [England, France, The Germanies, Spain; Minting, Moneychanging], Feudal Dues and Taxes) … ~60 pages.

This chapter covers the Feudal System as it worked in practise, both in England and France, where, though there were significant similarities, there were also practical and legal differences originating from their different historical heritages, as well as, in broad strokes, how it operated in the rest of Europe … where, unsurprisingly, it worked quite differently to the Anglo-French model that is the only one normally presented in RPGs.

Also covered is Law and (the enforcement) Justice as it existed in the various areas – again, looking at the differences between the English Common Law and French-Iberian-Italian Civil Law systems as well as, again in broad strokes, the systems that existed in other parts of Europe and, especially, at the changes which occurred over the period covered by the book, changes that are often poorly modelled, anachronistically presented, or roundly ignored in many RPGs.

Finally, money and financial matters are covered in a degree of detail – suffice it to say that, in the real medieval period, 1/10th pound Gold Coins did not exist, pretty much nobody used a decimal system for their coinage and there were no coins other than gold or silver ones (NO. No Copper, Bronze, Tin, Iron. No Platinum. No Electrum. Gold and Silver only … though both could be debased, sometimes so badly as to have little gold or silver in them other than a thin wash over a base metal blank).

Also, the differences between the coinages and coin weights between the major European states/ethnic areas is also covered – and, while most states adhered to something like the old Late Roman 1 Shilling = 12 pence, 20 Shillings = 1 Pound system, the weight of the 'pound' of precious metal on which the coins were based varied by locality! Note that Gold and Silver, whether in coinage or bullion, was much less common than most RPGs would indicate – and wages and prices were far lower than are suggested in those self-same games.

[B]De Civitate Dei ('The City of God'), which is divided into five subsections, the Roman Catholic Church (Regular & Secular Clergy; Land, the Church and the State; A Typical Cathedral; A Typical Monastery; Celibacy; The Liturgical Year; Heretics and Heresies), the Orthodox Church (Orthodox Churches, Hierarchy, Liturgical Year, Typical Orthodox Churches, Heresies); Judaism (Organisation, Generic Synagogues, Liturgical Year, Pre-modern Anti-Semitism, Restrictions & Discrimination); Islam (What is Islam?; Mohammed &The Beginnings, The Caliphs, The Shia-Sunni split, Organisation, Sects and Heresies, A Typical Mosque, Islam & The People of The Book) and Marginalised or Extinct (Gnosticism, Zoroastrianism, Paganism) … ~40 pages.

Even if your campaign world doesn't have the same world religions that the medieval Mediterranean world did, there's a lot of information to mine here – a lot that can be transferred whole cloth to whatever religions do exist. The idea that the year is broken up into distinct liturgical periods with a set and repeating pattern of ceremonial observances over the course of the week and the year is pretty useful, and easily adapted to pretty much any sort of organised religion – or the differentiation between Clerics and Monks, Major and Minor Orders and so on. The attitudes that existed between the historical religions – “Brotherly Love and No Quarter!” – is also an interesting pattern to follow.

De Re Militari ('On Military Matters'), which is divided into four subsections, De Re Militari (Military Technology, Before the 10th Century, The 10th-13th Centuries, The 14th Century; Military Organisation by region and ethnicity, Chivalry, Code of Chivalry, Cost of raising Troops), Stratagemata ('Stratagems') (The Sinews of War, The Cost of War, Logistics; Medieval Laws of War, The Peace of God, 'Just War'; On Crusade, Crusader States, Costs of a Crusade, The Hospitallers, The Templars), Arma Virumque Cano ('Of Arms and the Man I Sing') (The 10th Century, the 11th-14th Centuries; Armour and Weapons) and Castle & Keep (Castle Development, Early [9th-10th Centuries], Standard [11th-14th Centuries], Parts of a Castle; Other Fortifications; Siege! , Occupy or Destroy?, Siege Engines & Techniques, Gunpowder Weapons) … ~84 pages.

This is a particularly interesting chapter for gamers – on both the level of Tactical and Individual armour and weapons, their nature and use, as well as on the higher Operational and Strategic levels. There are fairly extensive notes on the 'typical' tactical organisation of most feudal forces, and an examination of how fragile they were … even the Knights, who were, at least to begin with, pretty much useless in battles (as opposed to individual combat) as often as not, as well as background on the local-ethnic-national organisation of some of the major forces players might encounter (or belong to … or even command!).

There is also coverage of the logistical side of warfare and the Crusades – where logistics was very important – and the horrendous cost of running a war on the pitiful levels of income available even to major rulers. No possibility of making war support war here. Also included is a look at Castles, Castle Building and Sieges and siege operations … which are also horrendously expensive.

Finally, there is a detailed examination of the types of armour available, and how that availability changed over time, as well as the types and variety of weapons … which also changed over time. These changes were a constant dance between improved weapons creating a need for improved armour and improved armour creating a need for improved weapons … pretty much like the modern world, in fact.

What you won't find is a huge variety of polearms, as almost all of the types included in RPGs date to after the increasing use of man portable gunpowder weapons on the battlefield … which is way past the cut-off date for OM2.

[B]Ars Mechanica ('The Mechanical Arts'), which is divided into five subsections, Architectura ('Architecture') (Stone & Brick Buildings, Wooden Buildings, Building Materials, Building Components), Coquinaria ('Cooking') (The Medieval Kitchen, Equipment-Staff-Layout; Cooking Methods; Foodstuffs & Recipes; Food Service & Etiquette), Mercaturia ('Trade') (Land Transport; Water Transport, Shipbuilding Technology, Medieval Navigation; Commercial Practise, Banking, Maritime Law), Metallaria ('Metals') (Ferrous Metals, Cold Iron, Steel; Non-Ferrous Metals, Copper-Tin-Bronze-Brass, Gold-Silver-Lead, Casting; Mining) and Vestiaria ('Tailoring') (Materials, Sources of Fibre, Other Materials; Weaving, Knitting, Dyeing, Putting Out System; Garments & Footwear; Cleaning & Maintenance) … ~73 pages.

This chapter covers those things the medievals classed as 'mechanical arts' … what we moderns would call a mix of crafts, technology and commerce. If you want to know how things were built or made, what materials were used and how they were put together in the styles that changed over the four centuries covered, this is the chapter you'll want to have a look at.

It makes it clear that this is not a world of mass production – it is based on low productivity labour, hand tools and handcraft level production. Things are made to order, almost as 'one offs' … you don't walk into a shop and buy more than a very limited range of items 'off the shelf', you order it from the shop owner, who then makes it for you over the next days or weeks. Even months.

And you'll find out why things are so slow to make.

Surprisingly, 'Ars Mechanica' includes things related to these areas of interest – so Cooking covers table manners as well recipes, and Trade covers Navigation as well as Maritime Law.

Ars Scholastica ('The Scholastic Arts'), which is divided into two subsections, Ars Scholastica (Medieval Schooling, Primary Schooling, Grammar Schools, Medieval Reading & Writing; Universities, The Seven Liberal Arts, The Trivium, The Quadrivium, Philosophy & Science) and Practical Science (Alchemy, Medicine, Herbal Remedies, Surgeons & Physicians, Death by Surgery) … ~30 pages.

Medieval people could spend years gaining an education – a small percentage of the population anyway. Just like today – but the content of that education was very different. Much of it was completely useless and totally wrong, in fact … but you'll get an idea of the sort of education that might be involved with a Mage's or a Priestly Collegium course. And what was involved with a medieval medical education … which is pretty scary, at least in part.

Daily Life, which is divided into two subsections, Daily Life (People, Attitudes & Behaviour, Hygiene, Leisure [Games, Hunting, Jousting & Tournaments, Plays & Drama, Song & Dance, Sports]; Names [Anglo-Saxon, Norman-French, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish]; Sleep & Dreams) and The World (Calendars & Chronology, Julian Calendar, East Roman Calendar, Islamic Calendars; The Measure of All Things, Area, Distance/Length, Weight, Volume; Heraldry, History of, Basic Design, Continental Variations, Livery) … ~54 pages.

This chapter covers miscellanea – those things that are of interest either on a personal or campaign level but which don't fall into any of the other main Chapter categories.

Myths & Medievalism, which is divided into two subsections, Myths & Medievalism (Fantasy States, Static or Universal Empires, Feudal Snakepits, Cities – Oligarchies or Princedoms; Stated Limitations, Transport & Communications, The Cutting Edge [Technology]; Social Stasis; Costs & Prices) and Magic & Medievalism (Magitech … In Warfare, In Agriculture, In Health, In Industry) … ~16 pages.

The final chapter covers a variety of issues that are of possible interest to a Game Master who is considering the design of a new, or existing, campaign world – dealing with some of the dubious excuses given by existing (commercial) campaign designers for the existence of what should be mutually exclusive anachronisms and/or baseless 'explanations' as to why, supposedly, there is no advanced technology, or no technological advances in their world.

Use it or ignore it as you will.

A sampler of 32 semi-random pages from OM2 is available as a download from RPGNow ....

Currently the campaign is 200% funded and the first two Stretch Goals (A Medieval Village and A Medieval Manor) have been reached ... and the third (A Medieval Castle) is within sight!

My small, new game development company, SagaTales, launched its first Kickstarter for its premiere game Machina Dark.

Machina Dark is a RPG with an alternate timeline, classless systems where the world has remained at war since 1914, experiments have created mutants that present deadly hazards, obscure mythical monsters have resurfaced through the conflicts, and corporations have begun buying control of nations. The culture takes elements of steampunk and dieselpunk to create a harsh world where small squads of mercs are just trying to make a buck.

So, I'm the guy that wrote Gratuitous Anime Gimmick (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/210738/Gratuitous-Anime-Gimmick).

https://i.imgur.com/zZbD2UN.png

It's a fairly rules light tabletop RPG with a heavy focus on genre emulation. I wanted GAG to imitate the feel of as much anime as possible, not just at character creation but in the actual gameplay. The shonen-based class can train to get a brief boost toward future tasks, the psychic type class can "lose control" and gain added effects on their powers, the gun toting class gets bonuses and added effects when they make crazy trick shots, etc.

The Kickstarter I'm trying to desperately and/or shamelessly plug is for the first expansion to GAG. Gratuitous Anime Gimmick: Of Raised Dead & Evening Rituals (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1262568438/gratuitous-anime-gimmick-order) (or GAG: ORDER) is going to narrow the focus a bit, and put more emphasis on horror and gothic style anime. While the first book pulled from everything--from Akira to DBZ to Sailor Moon--GAG: ORDER will be drawing from shows like Vampire Hunter D, Gosick, Hellsing, and Devil Hunter Yohko. It'll feature two new classes (the Mad Scientist and the Priestess), and over 80 new abilities that either weren't fully hashed out in time for the first book, or felt way too dark for the fairly optimistic, modern setting of GAG.

GAG: ORDER has less than a week left and is 72% funded, as of my writing this. I am currently on my flailing panic desperation tour. If you pledge any amount, there's a code in the Updates section for getting the original GAG book in PDF form. In short, you can get the original book for a dollar, today, if you pitch in to the Kickstarter for GAG: ORDER.

I'm gearing up to kickstart a way to play tabletop RPGs online using just a browser, similar to Roll20. I think I've got some neat ideas, and I'd love to make this thing. I've got a draft of the text for a Kickstarter page, is anyone interested in taking a look at it and telling me whether it's exciting to you?

Hi, I'm a fan who wants to share this game that I have backed. The world building is interesting and the art is compelling to me. It's from the same team that created the Age of Arthur books.

It fully funded within a few days and is working on stretch goals now.

Find it on kickstarter as "Liminal RPG"
The Artist Jason Behnke has additional concept art on his blog.

Blurb:
"Liminal is a new tabletop roleplaying game about those on the boundary between the modern day United Kingdom and the Hidden World- the world of secret societies of magicians, a police division investigating Fortean crimes, fae courts, werewolf gangs, and haunted places where the walls between worlds are thin.
The players portray Liminals - those who stand between the mortal and magical realms, with ties to each. "

See, this is what I benefit from by actually navigating the forums once in a while :).

Kickstarter Link (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1355268003/the-book-of-many-things-print-edition)
We are currently in our final 56 hours of our Pathfinder RPG Kickstarter to bring The Book of Many Things to print.

http://www.enworld.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=98844&d=1530286037 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1355268003/the-book-of-many-things-print-edition)

What's the book, you ask? Well, it's actually 2 full volumes of player options and a partial volume of campaign exclusive content totaling 500 pages once we finish updates and campaign backer requests. The PDFs for each will be available once funding comes through and updated regularly through Drivethru RPG. We already have a proof for volume 1's hard cover printing, so once we adjust that it'll be out the door, and when we're done with regular updates to volume 2 and the campaign content (expected October), we can get those to print as well.

Inside each volume are requests from around the internet, including:

Themes like Legend of Zelda, Skyrim, WoW, and Final Fantasy (voted on by backers!).
Reimagined content from other editions (magical locations, heroic paths, and character renown).
Races reminiscent of popular characters like snorlax from pokemon, the gerudo from zelda, and all of the playable races in WoW.
Classes like the accelerist, and dreamwalker, as well as more complex classes like the gamer who uses immersion to fuel his talents, and simpler classes like the astrologer. There are even some out of the box requests like the potentialist (whose power comes from standing still).
Archetypes for all existing classes, and at least 1 for each class introduced in the different volumes. Play as characters that feel like the witcher, a time manipulator, and Doctor Who.
Feats that help expand your character's options, like variant multiclassing, to feats that let you live by an assassin's creed, heed the call of duty, or become a god of war.
Spells like Fallout and Summon Fantasy provide a different way to assault your enemies as a spellcaster.
Stock up on Buster blades, groonswords, and fairy bottles, or dawn a pair of At-Ari's gauntlets.
Magical Locations finally make the transition to Pathfinder, and are now a more player-centric option that you can search for during your campaign and gain access to provided you learn how.
And more. No, really.

And all of this for only $20 (pdf) or $40 (for all three hard cover). We have multiple previews and a summary of everything else we're doing before the campaign's end that you can check out on the page itself.

Hello, everyone! I just wanted to pop in this afternoon to share my crowdfunding campaign for Primordial Power.

https://i0.wp.com/tbmgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/KSAd_New.png (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tbmgames/primordial-power-apocalyptic-magic-for-5e?ref=9bloyv)

Primordial Power is a 30-ish page mini-supplement for 5E, featuring a pantheon of primordials, elemental immortals from the dawn of time, ready to drag and drop into almost any campaign setting.
The supplement features the following:

5(soon to be 6 thanks to the contributions of a super-generous backer) primordials with unusual or bizarre domains like gravity, fear, or magnetism.
2 new subclasses - a new druid circle devoted to hunting and destroying the primordials' influences on the mortal plane and a bard college devoted to studying the history of devastation that these titans have caused
A playable race of genies, survivors from the primordials' previous rampages
A large number of new spells
New monsters including a modular primordial cultist(to suit whichever primordials you like), enigmatic mercury elementals, a faction of knights who are doing the wrong thing for all the right reasons, and one of the more martially inclined primordials, Zyagi, the Armored Tyrant.

Compared to a lot of 5E crowdfunding projects, I don't have quite the same amount of experience publishing game supplements, though I have been writing publicly available 5E content for the past year - a lot of which are partial previews and glimpses into what Primordial Power will look like mechanically.

Because of this limited history and limited funds to invest, I've been working on a much narrower scope to produce a supplement which won't break the bank for me to develop and won't be too steep of an investment for you guys - PDF copies of Primordial Power are going to sit at $5 and print at $15(plus shipping), though I'm confident that you'll feel it's a good deal when you read it!

Also, because I've seen so many crowdfunding projects which take quite a while to deliver what they promise, we launched this campaign with a a nearly ready-to-ship first draft; the main steps left before we have a viable product are to do a few cleanup tasks on the book's art assets and to convert its layout for printing(barring any additional content that we unlock over this campaign).

Here's a link to the Kickstarter campaign (https://i0.wp.com/tbmgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/KSAd_New.png), thank you for reading!

In many tabletop Roleplaying games (D&D, Pathfinder, Dungeonworld, etc.) magic doesn’t always have the mystique it deserves. The magic systems are designed to work but not designed to add to the amazing story you are telling. This is mostly because there are only a certain number of spells, and experienced players can recognize them instantly. One could say, once you have seen one magic missile, they have seen them all. Or when they know what one Enchanter could do, they know what all Enchanters could do. Wielders of the Mighty Arcane cease to be men of mystery and become instead merely different levels of pointy hat artillery. Of course, This issue is even worse at lower levels, where there are fewer options. Players will not respect such NPC unless GMs can recreate a sense of mystery and drama.

This is one of the issues MAGIC DESCRIPTION CARDS solves.

STRETCH GOAL ANNOUNCEMENTS BELOW: Plus you gotta listen to these great audio clips by the voice on Czath! so cool!

Hello everyone!

I would like to invite you to take a look at Vanguard d100, a new RPG fit for fantasy or historical campaigns! As the name indicates, it is based on the d100 dice but the game focuses on giving the players freedom to improve their characters any way they want to. No levels, no classes and no gigantic list of fixed spells! The game allows you to create your own spells! It also gives game masters the freedom to choose which rules they want to use. For example, it is possible to remove the entire magic chapter without breaking game balance. Or remove the luck mechanics. This 'modular' feature ensures it can be used in most fantasy or historical games, from high-fantasy to low-fantasy or even historical games. As for its core system, it is simple: roll 1d100, add modifiers and if the result if above 100 you succeed in your task.
The combat system is also simple and fast.

You can find more information about the game in its IndieGoGo campaign page: Vanguard d100 IndieGoGo (https://igg.me/at/vanguard-rpg/x/18694040)
And in its facebook page: Vanguard d100 Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/VanguardIndigogo/)

Regarding myself, I'm already an experienced gamer (tabletop and computer RPGs as well as board games) and have been designing games for the past decade. My previous big project was the adaptation of the Mass Effect saga into a tabletop RPG, which I already shared here several years ago. Mass Effect d20 was born 7 years ago, shared with thousands around the world and is still being played by many. It has been kept alive and up to date, shared for free in its website: Mass Effect d20 (http://www.masseffectd20.com/)

Feel free to visit either and ask me any questions you might have.

Hello everyone,

I would like to announce that I've just published my latest tabletop Role-Playing Game project, which is called EVENT. It's a story-driven, minimalistic RPG released under Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) and thus freely available for download and play.

You can find the download links, together with a 3 minutes presentation video and a review of the game, in this post (https://www.hanahaki.com/en/event-minimalistic-rpg-pdf-download-role-playing-game/).

Here's the presentation video:

https://youtu.be/DAIR374gDKA

Let me know what you think about it!

In case you like the game, you can also support our crowfunding campaign on Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/darkseal/event-a-minimalistic-tabletop-role-playing-game-rp/), which we launched few days ago to provide EVENT and their players with some additional content, a Paperback Edition, proper artwork, a community website and much more!

If you want to know more about the project, the Kickstarter page is quite self-explanatory, however here's a brief introduction explaining the game concept and key features.

Anyone with some RPG experience knows that the above aspects can play a decisive role for a successful session: complex ruleset, slow mechanics and slow system of resolution of actions and interactions are often cause of frustration, thus resulting in a disappointing gaming experience for gamemaster and players.

To address these issues, we came out with the following:

A skinny manual (less than 30 pages);
A limited amount of core rules, easy to learn & remember;
A distinctive Character creation System, based upon a sharp Questions & Answers mechanics;
A strong narrative premise (the Event) that will motivate the players to act as a group, providing their characters a common goal.
A brand-new character creation system (The Three Questions) that will allow players and gamemasters to build PCs and NPCs in few minutes using a narrative-based approach.
An efficient Actions & Interaction outcome resolution ruleset, featuring a hybrid approach containing a mix of narrative choices, auctions and dice rolls;
Innovative contest-resolution mechanics that will force players to choose between winning a contest or narrating its outcome (or try to do both things), similar to those featured in most auction-based Board Games.

The last two points are especially important, as they both empower the players with the chance to partially take control of the story, thus becoming the gamemaster for a short while to conceive and narrate what happens. This “collective management” of the game’s story is definitely the most interesting aspect of the game: such innovative approach is also well highlighted within the manual, starting from the first sentence:

"EVENT is a game system designed to collectively manage the actions and interactions of a variable number of characters played by players and / or the gamemaster from a given event. The combination of these factors will lead to the natural definition of a story within the context of reference, which is called the setting."

In order to play Event you’re going to need: a group of friends, a handful of 6-sided dice, some paper sheets and at least one pencil. As in most RPGs, one of the players, known as the gamemaster, will take care of the core elements of the story, while the others, to whom the manual simply refers as players, will play the role of a single character apiece.

The Creative Common edition of the game manual, containing everything required to play, is available for free download in italian and english language: the PDF links are available in the Kickstarter project page.

Have a good game!

Creatures from Fairy-Tales and Myth
This interesting Kickstarter is spotlighting iconic creatures from fairy tales and myth as "boss" monsters (with special secrets, vulnerabilities and lairs). Dragons, witches, and other fantastic foes are detailed in 5 tiers of power that will keep even your experienced players guessing. Ed Greenwood of Forgotten Realms fame is on this project writing stories for the various creatures! d20 rules are also getting expanded for social combat rules that blend in seamlessly with physical combat.

It's that time again... work is officially underway on a new Kickstarter event. Some of you hate these reminders. Understandable. So do I. But then, without them and without crowdfunding, there wouldn't be a new Gazetteer. So, sorry for the advance nagging and the inevitable follow ups.

What's this new project?

Remember the Voyage of the Princess Ark episodes from Dragon Magazine? "On Wings of Darkness" blends a new skyship episode in a 132 pg. geographic Gazetteer packed with info about a realm of wizards and demons.

Going through the table of contents, the following chapters follow the introductory story:
History of Caldwen (with a huge timeline of events)
Lay of the Land (geography, local culture, economy)
Intrigues of the Magi (politics and the military)
Behind the curtains (brotherhoods and secret sects)
A Cast of Many (major NPCs)
Master & Servant (everything about demons)
Beasties in the Dark (monsters of Caldwen)
At the Heart of Magic (about schools of magic)
Secrets of the Cabals (guilds of wizards, specialty magic)
Blood of the World Soul (about an order of mage-knights)
Sky City of Arcanial (a flying city & encounter ideas)

This comes with lots of maps including Thorfinn Tait's magnificent geographic cartography. The manuscript is complete. Crowdfunding is essentially for the purpose of acquiring decent art. On Wings of Darkness is system neutral and should work with most roleplaying games.

All hands on deck!

Click here for a preview of the Kickstarter Page (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ambreville/1858195447?ref=566883&token=2f5c4370). The actual launch date is in just a few days: Tuesday October 02, 2018.

80% funded in less than 24 hours. Not bad.

Imagine a gazetteer about a magiocracy not unlike Glantri, but with demons AND undead walking the streets, rival schools of magic, specialized wizard guilds, secret sects, and an order of mage knights endeavoring to control the flow of dangerous mana erupting from the land for the benefit of a despised aristocratic elite. That's Calidar's Caldwen. Little chance of survival. Certainty of something worse than death happening. What are you waiting for?

For those who backed the first issue, and those who didn't:

Thieves Can't -- Issue Two (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/529651417/thieves-cant-kill-goblins)

Guffaw-inducing, with memorable characters and a touch of loving parody (http://www.yesthievescan.com/).

Just one quick update -- the project funded, and looks to go well past basic funding, so if you're the "wait and see" type, go see.

There is a pledge level that includes a character commission, and that character will also be included with the comic as one of their "paper minis".

The latest update -- D&D 5e?

The very next project following CA2 "On Wings of Darkness" will aim to produce kits translating system-neutral stats and general game concepts defining the World of Calidar for the D&D® Game's 5th Edition and perhaps earlier versions (subject to copyrights limitations and OGL permissions). The present idea is to provide game stats indexed chronologically by page and sorted by topic (NPCs, Monsters, etc.) The intention is to make free PDFs and low cost booklets. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, we're approaching the 4th Stretch Goal. Thank you everyone who chipped in. This will bring CA2 "Adventures in Caldwen," the supplement associated with your core reward up to 40 pages. Everyone benefits.

Talk to your friends about this project, and make it a great weekend!

Believe it or not, they are switching to all hardbacks now (for major books going forward), in part, to increase durability of their product.

I'm not surprised. My explorer's edition book fell apart during the first reading, and I baby my books to the point where it is literally the only one I've had any issue with in any system. I suspect mine was unusually bad (moisture changes in shipping or whatever), but I'm far from the only person who had problems with that printing.

BUT, they're about $2300 from a retrospective sketchbook of Howard's work, and about $17250 from an "R&D" goal that would make an actual Howard Taylor novel about some old favorite characters their next project.

When it comes to map-making software and mapping assets for pen-and-paper RPGs, the sci-fi genre usually gets short shrift.

GMs of sci-fi RPGs like Starfinder, Star Wars RPG, Traveller, Shadowrun, Stars without Number, and other game systems need and deserve a good set of tools and assets to create great looking battlemaps, whether printed for use at the gaming table, or for use in virtual tabletop software like Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds.

I'm running a Kickstarter campaign to try to provide a solution. I hope some of you will check it out (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/more-sci-fi-content-add-ons-for-mapforge-map-makin).

Note that this new content would be in addition to the 10 sci-fi content Add-Ons (https://www.mapforge-software.com/?s=sci-fi&post_type=product) that already exist for MapForge.

PS: The 1st Update to this campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/more-sci-fi-content-add-ons-for-mapforge-map-makin/posts/2337749) has information about an 11th free content Add-On that will be released to backers once the campaign funds.

Hi all, Low Fantasy Gaming Deluxe Edition's kickstarter is on track to start in about a week's time. Summary of the main features below! https://lowfantasygaming.com/

https://i.imgur.com/H8jjuIH.png?1

• PDF & Hardcover: 2 versions, Full Colour + B&W Line Art.
• 9 Classes: Artificer, Barbarian, Bard, Cultist, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue & Magic User; only two of which involve magic.
• 12th Level Max eliminates the most powerful spells, and keeps the mightiest monsters scary.
• Unique Features: every 3rd level design your own PC ability in conjunction with your GM. Don't want to make your own? Choose from 36 examples instead.
• Roll Equal or Under for attribute checks (inc degrees of success), making every stat point matter.
• Skills provide access to a level based Reroll Pool, smoothing the fickleness of d20 probability distribution.
• Willpower & Perception attributes replace Wisdom.
• Luck attribute replaces saving throws and powers some Martial Exploits.
• Minor, Major & Rescue Exploits on top of damage, not in lieu, promote improvised stunts and moments of greatness.
• Dangerous Combat: Dropping to zero hp requires a roll on the Injuries & Setbacks table and healing is delayed by 1d3 minutes (magical or otherwise). Players don't roll to find out if their PC is All Dead or Mostly Dead until the battle ends and someone checks the body.
• Party Retreat & Chase rules allow the GM to throw whatever makes sense at the party, unshackling them from balanced encounters and quarantined zones.
• 5 minute Short Rests allow PCs to attempt Willpower checks to recover hit points and class abilities, encouraging the party to push on rather than camp.
• Long Rests take 1d6 days (or 1d4 in a safe, comfortable environment), mitigating the nova, rest, repeat problem for adventures with long periods between battles (eg: wilderness treks).
• Dark & Dangerous Magic tests and Divine Rebuke tests make all spell casting inherently uncertain. No at-will, teleport, mind reading or resurrection magic. Magic Users are less reliant on spells, proficient in one handed weapons and light armour.
• Evocative Spells: Spells have been tweaked and renamed, eg: Silent Image, Invisibility, Magic Missile and Hold Monster are instead Shadows & Dust, A Wisp Unseen, Lash of Unerring Pain and Crush of the Warp.
• Rare Magic Items, with obvious and discreet attunements, that unlock as their owners level up.
• GM Tables for Weather, Exploration Events, Random Encounters, Traps, Treasure, Disease, Madness, Tavern Brawls, Hirelings, Mass Battle, Naval Combat, NPC Quirks, Rival Adventurers, Blackpowder, and more.
• 130+ Monsters including effective Boss Monster options (eg: Off Turn Attacks match the party's action economy, and Stronger Luck grants saves even when a save is not normally permitted), plus custom monsters guide.
• Online Play Support: an LFG character sheet is available for online play via Roll20.
• Open Game Content: 99% of LFG text is "Open Game Content" under the Open Game Licence. Want to make your own adventures or expansions for LFG and sell them (including using expressions such as “Compatible with Low Fantasy Gaming”)? Go right ahead!

I know there's a few lovers of ADOM here, so I'm super happy to announce that the kickstarter campaign for ADOM the Roleplaying game is now live!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thomas-biskup/the-adom-ancient-domains-of-mystery-roleplaying-ga

Based on the groundbreaking genre defining roguelike computer game, ADOM the Roleplaying game will allow you to adventure with your friends in the Ancient Domains of Mystery. Ancardia was a peaceful world, but a mysterious Gate has opened in a deep and long forgotten cave and now the forces of Chaos spread their corrupting taint, twisting and changing the very essence of beings.

It is for the heroes to decide which side to choose, if any, for Chaos offers tempting powers far beyond mortal capabilities.

12 races and 22 classes allow for a wide variety of unique playstyles where both class and race decisions will continue to matter as the characters grow in power.

ADOM the Roleplaying game is part of the Old School Revival movement and fully compatible with other OSR titles, featuring the "Danger System" - a smart take on advantage/disadvantage mechanics designed to simulate complex situations with very few rolls.

Featuring over 600 full colored pages with gorgeous, handpicked artwork over two books, ADOM the Roleplaying game seeks to set new standards in indie RPG design.

If you want to learn more and see some spectacular samples, check us out at www.adom-rpg.com.

Please note that this is the Kickstarter for the pen & paper roleplaying game. The Kickstarter campaign for Ultimate ADOM (www.ultimate-adom.com), the sequel to ADOM the computer game, will launch at the end of February.

Magignosis (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/458886079/quickstarter-magignosis) is a source book for 3.X that includes four new classes designed to be quick and easy to build while still having lots of cool powers. I developed the classes because Pathfinder NPCs took way the Hell too long to create in large numbers. If you're a GM who uses class-leveled enemies regularly, these classes can save you a lot of time while keeping your villains interesting and level-appropriate in a fight. Alternatively, if you're a player and you enjoy getting awesome new powers more so than getting a half-dozen tiny bonuses that synergize into an awesome combo, these classes also do that. In addition to the classes, the book contains new spells, new feats, new NPCs built using the new classes, some fluff mainly revolving around the Order of the Third Eye from my adventure Petals and Thorns: Strangers in Ramshorn (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/261859/Petals-and-Thorns-Strangers-in-Ramshorn) (successfully Kickstarted last year), as well as new fluff based on iconic characters submitted by backers. If you're the sort who likes leaving a mark on Kickstarted settings, the limitations on what an iconic character from a sourcebook can be are significantly more relaxed as compared to an adventure, because a sourcebook doesn't have its spotlight reserved for the main plot and party, so now's your chance to include whatever in my setting instead of being limited to NPCs appropriate to the level, location, and premise of a specific adventure.

Hi everyone, we're pleased to announce our very first Kickstarter! (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/terryherc/professor-humbert-drumsley-5e-rpg-adventure-codex)

Professor Humbert Drumsley: 5e Adventure Codex is a collection of short adventures compatible with the latest edition of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying system. These adventures ideal for low level characters, and they're designed to be fun, fast-paced, and light-hearted.

The Codex
The finished Codex will be approximately 80+ pages in a 5.5 by 8.5 inch format. It will contain 10 short adventures, a character write up, statblocks, magic items, and more! The Codex is fully written and has seen a first round of editing. Illustrations have also been secured, using some top-notch artists from both in and outside the industry.

Humbert Drumsley
Professor Humbert Drumsley is an aging wizard who is confined largely to his tower and estate. He dresses in the traditional garb of the magically inclined, favouring long flowing robes that match his long flowing beard. He is often seen wearing a pointy hat, which is purple and adorned with silver stars. While other wizards may scoff at his choice of attire, Humbert revels in it, feeling that it gives him an air of classic representation.

Humbert was once considered a wise scholar, but years of arcane invocations have left somewhat of a mark on his mind. After a magical incident, Humbert has been suspended from his chair at the local magical university ("But I'm still a professor, dammit!"). Humbert's peers agree that his incompetence makes him an embarrassment, but he is so oblivious that many consider him blameless.

Free Adventure

If you want a taste of what the finished codex has in store, check out our free adventure Oh, I Hate Spiders! (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/263661/Oh-I-Hate-Spiders--A-5e-side-trek-adventure)

We funded Professor Humbert Drumsley: 5e Adventure Codex (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/terryherc/professor-humbert-drumsley-5e-rpg-adventure-codex) in just two hours! Now we've smashed through 9 stretch goals! So far we've unlocked:

20 adventure seeds
20 minor magic items
4 pages of lore on Humbert's tower
3 of Humbert's friends (NPC writeups and statblocks)
20 random oddities in Humbert's pockets
One-page dungeon
6 statblocks
6 MORE statblocks
6 pregenerated characters (digital addon)

Help unlock out 10th stretch goal by sharing this Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/terryherctomes/photos/a.2141003546020616/2141005399353764)! At 20 shares we add 20 of Humbert's former classmates. Not all of them turned evil!

Plus we've got lots more stretch goals in the works. At $5,500 we will add 3 of Humbert's foes (NPC writeups and statblocks). And at 300 backers we will add 12 more statblocks!

(posting for a friend)

I have launched a new rpg supplement project as part of Kickstarter's Zine Quest campaign.

"Other Magic" takes the spells, rituals, and practices of real world traditional magic system and translates them into rpg-compatible formats. The first issue includes information on American hoodoo, Pennsylvania Dutch braucheri/powowwing, and more.

The spells are written in general OSR format, but can easily be converted to other systems.

If you have an interest in bringing real world practices into your game or in taking a more subtle approach to magic in rpgs, please check it out!

Please visit Kickstarter and search for "Other Magic" (the forum software won't let me post links here).

There's just a little bit over 24 hours left to back ADOM the Roleplaying Game (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thomas-biskup/the-adom-ancient-domains-of-mystery-roleplaying-ga), our pen&paper conversion of the famous rogue-like.

Funded within 24 hours, we unlocked several stretch goals so far and announced a couple of lovely things, like revealing our list of our guest authors, featuring Ed Greenwood, Skip Williams, James M Ward and several other legends of the RPG world.

Thank you all for your support!

Some of the KS page description of the system sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about the system itself? What kind of system is it, what's the basic resolution mechanic, is it levels and classes, or point buy, or something between?

E: nevermind, it's over already... I had it saved to check back on it, I wonder why I never got my reminder from Kickstarter.

Heroes of Terra: The Mushroom War (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/572291080/heroes-of-terra-the-mushroom-war-for-savage-worlds/)

Howdy y'all, just wanted to bring up a Kickstarter about a game I've been following the development of for a couple years now. It's finally live on Kickstarter, and I'm super excited to see it finally get made.

Heroes of Terra is a Savage Worlds game, inspired by classic 80s video games like Zelda or Super Mario Bros. It describes a world parallel to ours, where saurians and plant creatures rose to sapience and dominated the world. And sometimes, people get drawn from our world to theirs and awaken to power that they could never experience here.

Here's the initial Kickstarter blurb that probably does this more eloquently than I could.

Welcome to Terra, a parallel world where magic lives and the dinosaurs never died out. Humans never evolved on Terra--instead, the world is dominated by floral life and saurians. Humans exist on Terra, however, drawn from the legendary world of Earth.

On Earth, humans number in the teeming billions, unaware of their magical potential and heroic birthright, but when Terra's fate hangs in the balance, it draws human champions across the Warp of space. These champions can act for good or ill, but theirs is the power to change the fate of a world.

Five years ago, the Dragon Empire subjugated the peaceful Mandragoran Kingdom, slaying the Sunflower King and sending his daughter and only heir, the Peachblossom Princess, into exile. The barbarian kappa and their fungal berserker allies run roughshod over the mandragoran people--and the land can no longer bear their pain. It calls for champions!

Whether Earth-born or Terran, it matters not! What matters is a hero's spirit. You will need power, wisdom, and courage to face the dangers of the Mushroom War.

Terra needs heroes!

The first Kickstarter update has a free download that illustrates some of the world. There are also a few PWYW and early development documents available on Drivethrurpg if you want to find out more.

It's 1/3 funded so far, and I hope it gets all the way soon. I hope y'all think it's as cool as I do :D

Hello everyone! I am here to let you know Ascension, the Codex of Immortals, by HC Gaming LLC, a RPG Zine Kickstarter is now live! If you are interested in epic and immortal games for the 5th edition of the world’s greatest role-playing game, please check it out here: Ascension, the Codex of Immortals (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1443596074/ascension-the-codex-of-immortals?ref=project_build#)

http://www.enworld.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=105023&d=1551014171

Ascension is a quarterly RPG zine focusing on epic and immortal gaming for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. Each issue will be 32-48 pages of epic and immortal goodness featuring rules for playing gods; lore, stats, and art for at least 4 deities/epic monsters; and mythic relics and artifacts for your epic games. The goal of Ascension is two-fold:

Provide epic monsters and guidelines that can be used with standard 5th edition rules and some of the existing 3rd party epic supplements currently available, and more substantially…
Provide a set of variant rules and guidelines for taking characters and monsters beyond the realms of mortals. Allowing players to grow their characters from mere demigods to the heights of the greater gods or even pantheon heads. These variant rules sit on top of the 5e chassis allowing players to shed the trapping of levels and class and instead embark on the quest to gain epic ranks, worship, and increase their Authority and Influence among mortals and immortals a like.

So, are you ready to ascend to the ranks of the Immortals? Are you ready to explore the multiverse and forge new realms and artifacts of wondrous power? Are you ready to stand against the threats to existence and deliver your divine judgement? Do you want to travel to the heart of the abyss and extinguish the root of all Evil? If so, take your characters and games where 5th edition has never gone before with: Ascension, the Codex of Immortals (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1443596074/ascension-the-codex-of-immortals?ref=project_build#)

Here's a stand-alone Powered By The Apocalypse RPG about playing as students with superpowered alter egos leaping into over-the-top adventures. It's heavily inspired by the sorts of shenanigans anime high schoolers get up to.
Play the class Rep, the Delinquent, the mysterious Transfer student- then choose your Destiny: Mech Pilot, Lab Subject, Transformation Warrior, Alchemical Witch, and more. Mix and match 10 student types, 10 Destiny playbooks, and then create your setting as a group. Are you students on a space station under attack? In a mysterious city under a dome, where no one's memories go back more than 10 years? On a floating city of skyscrapers where the magic system runs on music? Make some noise, make some wild classmates, and save the world!
We're at the halfway mark, and would appreciate the help!

BEINGS FROM BEYOND: Demons, Devils and Angels for 5th Ed.

Beyond the veil that lies between worlds, are beings of unimaginable power. Some are creatures of blazing beauty and transcendent revelation. Others are stains upon the fabric of reality itself, unspeakable entities before whom eons are instants, and whose dark designs span the universe.

THE BOOK

BEINGS from BEYOND (http://kck.st/2XANVnQ) is your guide to these entities, known to mortals as Angels, Demons and Devils. Part bestiary, part setting supplement and part adventure generator; the full book will be at least 135 pages long, in a starkly beautiful black-and-white style. Within its pages are scores of random tables for generating everything from Demonic cults to extra-dimensional paradises, re-imagined mechanics ranging from summoning to madness, and plenty of evocative lore to help you involve these awe-inspiring creatures in your tabletop role-playing adventures. Statistics are included for 5th edition, but the book is compatible with any fantasy role-playing system.

THE CAMPAIGN

If the prospect of dreams and nightmares from other dimensions interests you, make sure to check out the Kickstarter campaign (http://kck.st/2XANVnQ). If you wish to glimpse into the BEYOND, and see what horrors and wonders lie in store for you there, sample pages from the book itself can be found here for Demons (https://ibb.co/3rdNNpM), Devils (https://ibb.co/Yhb4sCr), Angels of Chaos (https://ibb.co/J7TF8qD) and Angels of Order (https://ibb.co/zbfVYxL).

A "software + mapping content" combo that will allow GMs to create beautiful hex maps for tabletop RPGs, either for printing or for use in virtual tabletop software.

Click on the image below to check out the Kickstarter campaign, which has already funded and ends in 16 days (on March 25).

http://www.mapforge-software.com/Non-Secure/Images/MapForge_Hex_Tile_Project_Image.png (https://kck.st/2EcQVOx)

The software is already developed and available, and runs on Windows and Mac OS X (not on mobile devices); the crowdfunding campaign is only to fund the development/porting of the new hex tile mapping content.

There are no shipping costs involved, since it's all digital downloads. Quick delivery of rewards is expected (April).

Swordsfall isn't just a story, it's a world. It's a dive into pre-colonial Africa for all the rich lore you've never heard of. It's an exploration into a world where the majority of the faces are dark, yet isn't constrained to one corner. It's a world where women hold power equal to men and the merit of ones soul is what propels them through life. It's a world where spirits aren't to be feared, they are to be embraced. In a time where we know that representation matters, this project is an effort to add to that spirit in the way I know best. Narrative fiction in the nerdiest of flavors.

Swordsfall is made up of three key parts; World Anvil, Tabletop RPG and Stories/Novels. Each of them telling a different part in the lore that is the world of Tikor. This Setting and Artbook is part of that synergy and the first step toward realizing the Tabletop RPG.

Hello all,

If it's alright I'd like to throw my hat into the ring.

https://i.imgur.com/TaDrhwG.jpg (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/857509715/there-was-a-boss-fight)

There Was a Boss Fight! is a series of pre-made encounters for 5th edition that focus on an ending fight with a “boss.” They're designed with a tongue in cheek style to them, but that can be easily changed if my style doesn't suit your own.

Each module also includes 3 kinds of maps (DM specific, player safe and full 1" printable), 3 new magic items per encounter, and unique boss mechanics, some which your players may may not have encountered before.

That's the sales pitch, but as for the nitty gritty, there's a total of 5 encounter modules (6 with the free 1st level encounter linked on the KS - downloadable through DTRPG), and the price points are $3 for 1, $7 for 3, or just $10 for all 5!

So feel free to check out the KS, or if nothing else help yourself to the free 1st level adventure (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/264020/A-Tale-of-Two-Sisters) (just enter $0 in the payment option).

Thanks!

I was just about to post it! It’s described as mud-and-lasers sci-fi, with narrative pilot play and crunchy, tactical mech combat. I’ve been following Lancer since it’s creation, and am very excited to finally see the Kickstarter.

Aaaaaaaaand it’s funded! In an hour and a half! I’m pretty new to it, still haven’t read through the entire book yet, but I like mechs, I like RPGs, and I like Abbadon, so I’m very excited. Even though I’ll probably never get a chance to play it. :smalltongue:

Petals and Thorns II: Heroes of Ramshorn (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/458886079/petals-and-thorns-ii-heroes-of-ramshorn), an adventure module for 5e (and, unless this Kickstarter is way less successful than the last, eventually Pathfinder) is now live on Kickstarter. The first game asked questions about the five philosophical factions struggling over the Eastern Frontier, now that the Frontier has erupted into total war, the second game is asking for compromises. You need an army to win a war, and the bigger your army, the more room for mistakes you have. But many of the minor factions of the Frontier are morally questionable - some of them are morally repugnant. If you don't recruit them, your enemies will, and every spell and hit point you expend nipping that problem in the bud is one you haven't spent recruiting allies who aren't terrible people, or protecting the people of the Frontier from the ravages of war, or actually winning battles. Every time you rest to replenish your resources, battles are fought without you, the enemy recruits more allies from amongst the neutral, and people in danger are killed. You can't be everywhere at once. Who are you willing to recruit into the coalition that wins you the war, knowing that you'll be giving them a position of power in your regime afterwards? What are you willing to do to secure their allegiance? What do you believe in - and who are you willing to sacrifice to those beliefs?

Realms Beyond (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ceresgames/realms-beyond-ashes-of-the-fallen), a party-based turn-based RPG using the D&D 3.5 ruleset has a late backer program for its Kickstarter.

If they get enough money pre-launch, they'll even add Monks! (Monks and Bards and Psions are planned to be included eventually.)

A war of succession engulfs a sleepy town on the edge of the Eastern Frontier, and as vicious and desperate factions close in on all sides, you hold the power to shape the future of the realm.

But which crises do you prioritize? When vampires attack from one side and the Lunatic Court from another, do you fortify one and leave the other to fend for itself, or do you split the difference and hope for the best? When your wizard allies in the Order of the Wyrd conduct experiments on the local population, do you leave the front lines to confront them and risk losing territory and the wizards, or turn a blind eye to their abuse and hope it doesn't come back to literally haunt you later? When you need a regent's armies on your side, but he asks you to eliminate his child nephew so he can inherit the barony, do you do it or do you look for soldiers elsewhere and risk that the bastard Prince Darius will do it anyway and get the regent's soldiers?

Every long rest, the war marches on and other factions try to snatch potential allies and territory from you. It's a race against the clock to secure allies, face the enemy, and establish a new age in the realm of Vintaria. With each choice, you choose what you believe in, and what you are willing to sacrifice for it.

Now in it's last week, don't miss Petals and Thorns II: Heroes of Ramshorn (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/458886079/petals-and-thorns-ii-heroes-of-ramshorn/description), the sequel to last year's 800% funded Petals and Thorns (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/458886079/petals-and-thorns-what-do-you-believe-in) adventure path (also included as a reward for HoR backers) and explore the question of power and what you do with it on a whole new level!

love you guys to check out our new kickstarter of Monster Adventure Terrain. Basically, its a way to build custom terrain almost like lego that can change infinitely...

I hope this isnt considered advertising.. just wanted to share with you the kickstarter starter by three of my employees who are huge DnD players and have been working on this for over a year. Just launched minutes ago.

They have put tons into it, and honestly think they did an amazin job. Great guys. They asked my company Monster to sponsor and produce it, and love to see it succeed.

Any suggestions, comments, etc... Love to know what you think, and if this is considered promotion, I apologize, and happy to move thread elsewhere
thanks
