The MapForge software (http://www.mapforge-software.com/) (which runs on Mac & Windows) was designed to create customized tactical-scale battlemaps for RPGs, and is already supported by an impressive 80+ mapping content Add-Ons (12 of which are free!) covering all major game genres. Maps produced with the software can either be printed for use at the gaming table, or used in virtual tabletop software such as Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds.

But despite the wealth of fantasy mapping content already available, GMs have been clamoring for even more. So we've got some great new content lined up, and are raising funds to cover the porting/development costs.

Click on the image below to check out the latest KS campaign for MapForge, which just launched two days ago.

http://www.mapforge-software.com/Non-Secure/Images/MapForge_Fantasy_KS_Project_Image_KS_Badge.png (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/more-fantasy-genre-content-add-ons-for-mapforge-software)

Note that the software itself is already developed and available (though a new version is due out later this month); this crowdfunding campaign is only to fund the development/porting of the new fantasy-genre mapping content.

Some boardgamers and wargamers were quick to catch on that the software can also be used to produce custom game boards or tiles for games such as Myth, Descent, HeroQuest, Aliens, Skull Tales, and many others.

Fairly quick delivery of rewards is expected (August), and there are no shipping costs involved, since it's all digital downloads.

Campaign launched on: May 22, 2019

Campaign ends on: June 17, 2019

Mythic Table (https://mythictable.com/): Play Online. Play Better!

https://mythictable.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2019-05-08.gif (https://mythictable.com/)

Mythic Table (https://mythictable.com/) is the next Virtual Tabletop. We are a passionate team of game industry professionals that are frustrated with the state of the current virtual tabletops. We've decided to do something about it. You can too! This campaign is not to gather funds for the project. Instead we need to show our business partners thereis an interest. What do we need? Just come to our site (https://mythictable.com/) and sign up for the newsletter. If we get enough interest, we'll be able to go into full development and make our vision a reality.

https://mythictable.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/2019-05-07.gif (https://mythictable.com/)

The Mythic Table (https://mythictable.com/) project has three pillars; User Experience, Performance and Community. We aim to build a tool that everyone can use. A tool that doesn't take hours of learning. A tool that enhances both our online and in-person games. This tool should perform well under all circumstances. The team must also deliver updates quickly. We've already build pipelines for rapid deployments and we hope to be able to release daily to our early adopters. Finally, we're going to directly engage, you, the user for constant feedback and direction.

Memento Mori is the first project from Luna Publishing now live on Kickstarter. It is a campaign setting designed for the 5E ruleset, and will be published under the OGL license.

Memento Mori takes inspiration from dark fantasy, victorian age, steampunk, sword and sorcery, and even classical gothic literature. It takes place not in the medieval age, but in a time more closely resembling the age of enlightenment or the baroque period. New technologies and ideas are spreading across the world yet ancient mysteries and ways are still abundent. Magic is outlawed, and stems from evil sources. Ancient daemons attempt to infest the minds and souls of mortals. Witches cackle and spread their daemonic masters will. Firearms are becoming more and more commonly seen and used.

So far within the week we are already over 66% funded, but we need your help! Pledge now and help us reach our goal.

New Races including the erudite Electus, the bestial Felisican, the cursed Kurz, and a unique take on Goblins.
New Classes including the Alchemist, the Witch Hunter, and the Witch. New archetypes for existing classes.
New Mechanics covering corruption, dreamscapes, and exorcism.
A uniquely built world covering over 2 years of design and playtesting.

Dungeons & Delvers: Red Book is a profusely illustrated, massive overhaul and upgrade to Dungeons & Delvers: Black Book, a D&D hack/clone I published a few years ago that does all the stuff I wished D&D did, and probably at the least has some tweaks, new mechanics, concepts/ideas, and/or tables that you’d enjoy, too.

Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/antioch/dungeons-and-delvers-red-book-0

There's a quickstart rule packet, so you can just see for yourself how the game will play, as well as a fraction of the content it will contain (including a bit of art). You don't even need to back the project to download the PDF!

Aside from being available in B&W and color, you'll also get it as a single digest-sized book, a pair of digest books (one for players, the other for GMs), or a letter-sized book. PDF levels get every possible combination, while print-on-demand links are for a specific type (but you can get additional books as add-ons).

Hello everyone!

I am posting this here as the head translator of Studio Agate, the French creative studio behind Shadows of Esteren. We have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for Fateforge (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1176616619/fateforge-a-5th-edition-role-playing-game/description), an original 5ed-powered role-playing game.

For more information, a Player’s Guide intended to serve as an introduction to Fateforge is also available, downloadable for free on DriveThruRPG (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/280610/Fateforge--Players-Guide).

We hope you'll be interested in it! If you would like to know more, don’t hesitate to come to the Fateforge Discord server (https://discord.gg/msXWsza) to meet with the community and talk with the team behind the game!

"Fateforge, Epic tales in the world of Eana for 5th Edition. A love letter to Sword & Sorcery and the world's greatest RPG, from the team behind Shadows of Esteren, the most awarded French RPG."

Welcome to Eana, an entirely new campaign setting for your 5th Edition adventures. Following the sword & sorcery tradition, the adventurers will travel through grandiose landscapes and interact with exotic, colorful civilizations, from the sprawling metropolis of the Free City to equatorial Acoatl.

Their journey will be fraught with peril and they will face many strange, fearsome opponents, be they the loathsome spawns of Canker, the demon princes from the moon Melancholia, or the formidable barbarian lords of the Kaani hordes.

By dint of skill, bravery, or cunning, they will overcome increasingly challenging ordeals, and perhaps find their way to the mythical Fateforge and ascend to godhood!

After a long hiatus, Ascension Games is back, with our next product in the “Path” series, Path of the Wilds! As with Path of Iron, we want to ensure the best quality for the Path series. Ascension Games always uses commissioned art in our books, and we take a painstakingly long time to ensure the rules text is clear, balanced, and - most importantly - fun. In order to make this book come to life, we’re excited to announce that we are launching a Kickstarter for the book today! The campaign will run from October 16th until November 15th. You can find the Kickstarter here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ascension-games/path-of-the-wilds-pathfinder-rpg).

Here's an overview of what you can expect in Path of the Wilds:
The elementalist base class, a spellsword that has mastered the forces of air, earth, fire, and water. They can absorb latent energy from their spells to form a powerful planar aegis, letting them switch between spell focus and combat focus at a moment’s notice. They can also convert elemental spells into simplified “twists” for more utility, or combine their spell slots together to reach greater heights of arcane potency.
The invoker base class, a mystical warrior that bonds with the spirits of nature. Unlike most “pet” classes like the druid or summoner, the roles for the invoker and his spirit companion are reversed: the invoker players the front-line combatant while his companion casts spells to support him from afar. He can also invoke over a dozen lesser spirits like Tempests Herald and Oncoming Storm and Depths Beckon With Silent Murmurs to grant him unparalleled adaptability in his approach to combat.
The warden base class, a verdant protector of nature. The warden is the first line of defense for both nature and his companions, gaining a slew of defensive and support oriented abilities. He creates magical wards that shield allies from harm, and can improve them with natural facets like summer’s heat or river of life to shield against specific threats. His remedy feature grants him a slow-but-steady healing stream, while his mastery of nature’s close-kept secrets gives him new methods of support and further control over his environment.
New archetypes and options for existing classes. Play archetypes like the Animist barbarian to summon ancestral totems, or an Elemental Savant sorcerer to learn a wide selection of elemental spells from other classes. Options include new kineticist talents and a new selection of six “primal spirits” for the medium class.
Spells for casters that want to evoke nature’s benevolence - or its fury. Turn into a being of light with the solar body spell, or tap into your wild side with the primal fury spell. Gather foes together with a watery vortex, then poison them with a toxic nettle burst.
Feats that let you truly master the wilds. Use wild empathy to impart magical suggestion effects on creatures with the Mystic Empathy feat, and track down impossible quarries with the Skilled Tracker feat. Call out your foe’s weaknesses with the Spotter’s Call and take them down with a single Mountain Strike. There of course will be feats to support the new classes, as well, such as Latent Remedy to let wardens grant contingent healing effects and Aegis Strike to give elementalists and extra arcane edge while using their aegis form.
A plethora of new magic items and equipment properties. Always have the right element at hand with the cycling weapon property, and entangle foes that attack you with miring armor. Fly upon the wind with the stormlord’s raiment and freeze foes solid with the rimeflower bow.

Thank you for your support, and I hope you are as excited as I am for Path of the Wilds!

I'm a fan of his D&D content and I backed his Strongholds & Followers supplement which I feel brings a lot to the game. He's got a new one up for Kingdoms & Warefare. As fellow D&D players who may be looking for more rules systems to layer on, or otherwise just get some swag minis it may be of interest to you? I don't know if it's a good idea to link it here but in case anyone wasn't aware and may be interested in a 3rd party supplement for Domain-level play to your game, allowing players to become Regents running a Kingdom, Duchy, or Barony! Or a Church! A Thieves’ Guild! A Bard’s College! Whichever you choose, it’s your Domain. Your domain can take actions, raise armies, conduct espionage, and wage war!

Just putting the word out. Peace :)

The Mod Ogre: This was moved over from the 5e board, which explains the different title.

Given the first one was effectively a new specific campaign with its own reality rules / magic, and not (as advertised) generic rules for strongholds and followers, going to have to pass.

Yea I totally agree. Hard pass.

In my homebrew campaign my players have been building a little fiefdom with a keep and small town plus named NPCs since level 5. Saw the followers thing when they were about level 9 and paid for it thinking at worst I could just steal the good parts and port it over to my campaign.

Found that it was so entrenched in it's own rules for how MC envisioned strongholds that I could barely use any of it. Seriously disappointed in it. Wasnt a big MC fan before and now solidly in the camp of "meh"

IMO he has a very specific idea of how to run a campaign that I hate. I didn't buy his last offering because I watched his video and didn't like the magical buffs idea for one example. It's fine that he plays the way he does. It's fine that thousands or even millions of players like his style. I dont belong at his table and his style of gaming doesn't belong at mine.

Call up those high-level clerics, because we're in need of a miracle! The project still has a long way to go, and we need your help now more than ever. With your generosity and the aid of your tabletop group, we can make this project come to life.

You might be thinking, "Well, with how much is left before reaching the goal, should I even back the project?" To which I say, Kickstarter projects only charge you if the goal is met. If you are interested in Path of the Wilds, even if you think the project might not make its funding goal, please consider backing! If everyone that was hesitant to back the project for fear of the goal not being met actually did back the project, we'd hit our funding goal in no time at all. Every bit helps!

There's a playtest document you can read on Google Docs (https://docs.google.com/document/d/17OUjzY9P3j07DCgn4AnZuLA-6OkCroxsEIBVfpEN2wc/edit?usp=sharing), or you can download directly from DriveThruRPG (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/291685/Path-of-the-Wilds--Playtest), Paizo.com (https://paizo.com/products/btq021eh?Path-of-the-Wilds-Playtest), or the Ascension Games store (https://www.ascension-games.com/shop/path-of-the-wilds-test) if you'd like to look at the content before backing.

The latest thing that I've backed.

Thorn: City of Kings (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/218255739/thorn-city-of-kings/description)

Thorn is an ancient city-state, a great city-state, a towering testament to centuries of rule. It is also the last city-state of its kind. Pharaohs and senators come and go. Dynasties fade. But power and wealth remain constants in the city-state of Thorn. People come from throughout the Empire to gaze upon Thorn’s perfectly etched stone walls and the mosaics of the gods, to hear great celebrities perform, to behold the excitement of the chariot races, and to witness the Pharaoh herself.

Today, a new Pharaoh reigns over the city-state, replacing a disgraced leader hidden in exile, who drove Thorn to the edge of ruin. Although the new Pharaoh intends to return the great city to the splendor of its golden age, this past year has seen obstruction from the Senate, resulting in societal decline. People live in poverty, Thorn’s borders shrink, and the military flounders, all while foreign missionaries lure the Kisharan faithful away from the old gods.

For the common citizen of Thorn, the passing days are measured in strife as the city-state struggles to recover from the misguided rule of a selfish Pharaoh. The wealthy of Thorn rise above such suffering, insulated in equal measure by both money and power, though they face their own trials as they struggle to hold onto such things. Life in Thorn is currently comfortable for no one.

In a constant state of flux, Thorn itself is eternal — it has weathered political upheaval, natural disasters, wars, and more. And when the dust clears again, it will remain. So long as the people believe this, there is little need to correct its drifting course.

Thorn is a place of power and status, and both have a way of keeping a tower stable.

Or knock is all down like a house of cards.

“The Pharaoh is dead. Long live the eternal state of Thorn. Usher in the living gods.”

Thorn is a complex city, filled with numerous paths to adventure. And as clichéd as that sounds, the hope is this is not just another fantasy roleplaying game. Thorn exists during the tumultuous Late Bronze Age, when civilizations are on the precipice of collapse and all the great cities of the world are about to crumble into oblivion. All at once.

But somehow, Thorn endures.

Players take on the role of adventurers trying to escape the hardship of life outside Thorn, and make a living for themselves inside the walls of the world’s greatest city. Here, power is those brave enough to take it, but also maintain it, while cultists and demons tear at the very foundation of the city.

Help us get this Kickstarter off the ground. This forum has done it before so lets do it again!

You're going to get 1668 high quality, pre-punched chipboard tokens. They are 1/2-inch, 1-inch, 2-inch and 3-inch tokens.

This set of tokens will retail for $499. You can get them for $250. One and done. You'll never need another token.

These same tokens (if magnetic) would cost you over $1200 on our gamemash.com website.

Thank you for everything you have done for us, our families, our friends and our games.

Hero Forge has a new kickstarter for color prints (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/heroforge/full-color-custom-miniatures-with-hero-forge-20?ref=ksr_email_user_watched_project_launched). Looks pretty cool, and they've already unlocked a lot of extra options.

That said, I don't know that I'll back it. I don't think I do enough TTRPGing to really want to spend $40 for each mini. It's fun to play with, sure, and I'd love them to add hippo heads for Giff, but I just can't justify the cost.

Imagine a Hogwarts analogue, wherein wizards learn their craft at a school of magic. Where that magic is ubiquitous and commonplace – brooms sweeping floors, flying carpet taxis, that sort of thing. And above all, where magic is truly wondrous, with impossible citadels and floating cities and the like.

Such a society could do great things. Great, but also terrible.

Evergarde is an RPG supplement targeted to 5E, but also supports older editions and OSR (Old School Renaissance) games. In Evergarde, magic is commonplace and wonderful, and juxtaposed against the gritty and dour tone of a post-apocalyptic world.

It’s basically Harry Potter meets Fallout.

For more information, check out the Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/graywizardstudios/evergarde?ref=dqea2y). Thanks for looking!

Hi everyone!

I'd just like to share my project Storybox!, a collection of 8 unique one-shot style TTRPGs. We managed to hit 100% funding in 8 hours and 300% in the first 24 - I've been blown away by the reception and thought some folks here might like to see it. I can't post a link because I made a new account to escape my deadname, but it's easily findable.
I'm really excited to finally put these games out to the world!

The Kickstarter for an upcoming supplement, Filling in the Blanks, is now live. It is a guide for populating maps with features and lairs for fantasy role-playing campaigns. While written for use with OSR-style games, with a focus on generating areas of interest for use in hexcrawl or sandbox-style games, it can easily be adapted to any version of D&D.

The document has already been written and copy edited, and I've commissioned an artist to produce illustrations for it, so we're pretty close to having everything ready to go.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...pulating-hexes

6.28.20 The Kickstarter has funded completely, and as a reward I'm adding some stretch goals. For every 200.00 past my original goal I'll be including a brand new 6-mile hex in pdf form.

7.5.20 With 19 days remaining we're 51.00 short of tripling our original goal for the Filling in the Blanks Kickstarter, a guide to populating maps for fantasy gaming. I've added some stretch goals for more art and some bonus hexes.

8.26.20 And the pdf is live and available for sale! https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/325708/Filling-in-the-Blanks

Currently I am backing Guide to Kroma: A Fantasy Travel Guide (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/evegwood/guide-to-kroma/description). It aims to provide a small-scale introduction to a new fantasy campaign setting they are creating, along with a simple rule system for one-shots in their setting.

I'm not familiar with any previous TTRPG project either of the authors have done, but they are each known for their webcomics Inhibit (http://inhibitcomic.com/) and Recoil (http://recoil.thecomicseries.com/), both of which I enjoy. Inhibit in particular has good world-building and a reasonably consistent set of rules for how powers work, so I'm pretty confident they can do a good job with the fluff of an RPG setting at least. Also, there was a Kickstarter for Inhibit book 1, which fulfilled in a timely manner.

Whether the rules for their demo one-shot system will be any good is not something I can predict. Hopefully they're good, but that isn't really why I'm backing.

Ladies, Gentlemen, Either or Neither, I would like to offer you Monsters of Murka: Restaurants & Retail (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/actionfiction/monsters-of-murka-restaurants-and-retail), produced by Action Fiction.

The Monster of Murka setting won awards on DriveThruRPG for it's hilarious parody/satire setting as well as just being a lot of damn good fun. Restaurants & Retail is their first expansion, detailing the hyper-capitalist culture that has turned the once-beautiful land of Murka into a nightmare of evil brands and monstrous enemies. (Did I mention it's satire?)

Visit Flavour Town and meet the Flavour Saviour himself, Sir Guillaume Fierre! Get lost - and find unbeatable bargains! - in the endless labyrinth of Walmoria! Take a trip out to Midwesteros and spend some coin at the legendary Hall of Murka! Curses! Memes! Tasteful semi-nudity!

~*~

Disclaimer!

This setting is especially close to my heart because... I helped to write it!
The AF team put out the call earlier this year for a motley band of writer/adventurers and they somehow ended up with me writing for the Walmoria dungeon. If you ever play the game and get run over by a Draggin' Wagon, fall afoul of the Exidoors or get consumed by It Which Clerks In The Darkness then I want you to know... I'm not sorry.

With the exception of the 3 founding members, the AF writing team are almost exclusively first-timers at both professional writing and TTRPG development, so you're helping us cut our teeth and get an accredited product on our resumes. I promise, you wouldn't know from reading what we've done - Murka is completely insane, but it's distilled insanity and I really hope that you join us in enjoying it.

The first Kickstarter for Sengai Jidai: The Age of A Thousand Realities is now live! 100 years ago, the reality shapers of the Oni Rebellion destroyed the ASHIKAGA supercomputer and shattered the consensus reality that governed Japan. Now there are a thousand different worlds across the land, from the cyberpunk dystopia of the Oda to the oath-bound samurai of the Azai, and even stranger worlds than these. In the Starter Kit you'll get four unique archetypes: the psychic shrine guardians of the Kanbe, Asakura artists who can bring their creations to life, Tendai monks who realize their bodies are not real, and thus can reshape or even abandon them, and the witches of the Matsudaira, who soar through the air on their flying brooms. These come with three new skills that can be used in any Fate game: Art, ESP, and Witchcraft.

You'll also get a starting town, Kawagoe, that lies along the Tokkaido road and the sea. The town is full of the NPCs and locations you might find in anime from the 90s, like Sailor Moon or Serial Experiments: Lain. This is the setting for a new adventure for FATE, "The Unquiet Earth," where your characters must react to save citizens from a natural disaster and then fight off a kaiju attack.

People who back early can take advantage of an early bird special to get their print copy of the Starter Kit for 75% of the normal price. You can sign up here to back the project (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sengaijidai/sengai-jidai-the-age-of-1000-realities).

Also, as new stretch goals are unlocked, the book gets more valuable for the same price. Up to three new characters will be introduced, including a cyborg, a samurai, and a ninja. You'll also get more NPCs and locations, as well as two new adventures: "A Fistful of Yen," featuring criminals fighting over turf in the aftermath of the disaster, and "Avalanche," where tensions come to a head between the Oda and those who believe the kami are harmed by the pollution produced in the Oda shipyards. So back early, then tell all your friends to support the project!

Hello Everyone!

I'm excited to announce the launch of our Kickstarter!
http://kck.st/3jGWnMk

Death of Divinity is a homebrew campaign that, utilizing the rules of 5E DnD, creates a world that encompasses the mythologies and tales of the ancient Greek, Norse and Egyptian cultures and places a unique twist on them to fit each culture and mythology into one interactive world. The first chapter of Death of Divinity: Riches of Andvari, introduces the players to our world and starts a chain of events that will bring the onset of Ragnorak. Beyond the quests, monsters and encompassed mythological tales, Death of Divinity is a structured story with guidance and tools that will lead groups of adventurers from the first chapter to the last. The complete Death of Divinity experience includes an online, interactive setting in World Anvil and an open discord server where backers can discuss the series with the authors!

I look forward to hearing what captures your attention and inspires your games.

Not a crowdfunding effort, per se. Five Magics, abbreviated M5, is a table top RPG reminiscent of 3.5 edition Dungeons and Dragons which seeks to change some of the fundamental assumptions of D&D such as the idea that all magic functions off of a slot style system or that pure fighters have to have a magic item to use magic.

M5 is a tactically deep roleplaying game that strives for an acceptable level of complexity with a deep and tactical combat system, five mechanically distinct magic systems, and ongoing development of monsters, items, lore, and more. I'd like to invite you all to visit my Patreon page. As stated, this isn't actually crowdfunding because I don't have a precise stopping point for development and I wouldn't stop even if I continued to do it for free. However, I'd love to turn my hobby into my day job.

You can try the game completely for free by downloading the Forever Free content, which is available as a zip file on my Patreon page, the link to which I am not yet allowed to post :(

Like, comment, and feel free to share the Forever Free content, if one of you succeeds in locating the Five Magics Patreon page.

A friend just shared this link with me for a kickstarter for pop-up tabletop terrain (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/everythingepicgames/upzone-the-pop-up-wargaming-and-rpg-terrain-system). Mostly useful for wargaming, but I can see using this for RPGs as well. It looks like it's a set of modular pieces that fit nice and compact in a single board-game sized box and just get opened up and arranged however you want. Definitely looks more cost effective and space saving than a bunch of random terrain pieces that take up a lot of shelf space.

Rune and Steel

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/runeandsteel/rune-and-steel/description (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/runeandsteel/rune-and-steel/description)

"Rune and Steel offers an expanded universe of the Norse myths derived heavily from the original sagas. Strife, deceit, and mayhem are commonplace - ranging from the frozen peaks of Nordmark to the misty realm of Myrkheim - gods, giants, and other beasts of lore are rumored to wander the nine worlds. The tribes of men have begun their rise into factions and kingdoms determined to further their dominion and that of their patron gods'. It appears the Norns have left fate in the hands of men. Perhaps, the skalds will chronicle their deeds in the sagas and carve their names forever upon the runestones or maybe they will suffer eternal winter at the hands of Hel."

Kibbles' Compendium of Craft and Creation

Kibblestasty, veteran homebrewer and creator of one of the more popular Alternate Artificer's around is currently running his own Kickstarter campaign for Kibbles' Compendium of Craft and Creation (apologies for the lack of a link,my post count is too low to post one (darn me for being a long term lurker)), a 230+ page compendium of the best of his homebrew and more. The campaign was funded in the first three hours and has burned through it's first five stretch goals already. At present the volume is confirmed to include:

Two fully tested and published versions of Kibbles most popular classes: the Psion and the Inventor (commonly called "Kibbles' Artificer")
12+ additional subclasses tying into the themes and mechanics of Psionics and Arcane Technology.
Items, spells, feats, monsters, character building tools for the new classes, and optional world building tools for integrating psionics and fantasy technology to your campaign
Kibbles' Crafting System - a new system to make the crafting process more involved and interesting: Blacksmithing, Alchemy, Enchanting (making wondrous items), and much more (everything from Cooking to Wand Whittling and Scroll Scribing!)

Stretch goals have already added: a Psionic and Artifice based Bestiary, additional Magitech Items and Psionic items, an Engineering Crafting Branch (build your own trebuchet), a pair of new race options (Half-Forged and a mystery Psionic-based Race) and a set of Custom form-fillable PDF Character Sheets for the Psion, Inventor and Crafting system).

Future goals include: Foundry TT integration, a backer selected subclass, Printed Crafting Cards to use with the aforementioned crafting system, a "Kibbles Guide to Kibbles Content", 50+ pages of new content (a general expansion across all the above content) and a Digital Toolset for the crafting system.

The campaign still has 25 days to go and is already at over 900 backers.

Into the Wild, a guide to hexcrawling and domain management for OSR-style games, is going live on Thursday: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1096429942/into-the-wild-3

Into the Wild is now live. It compiles a handful of the shorter supplements I've written and had available for either cheap or PWYW into a single document of around 225 pages. The goal of the Kickstarter is to raise money for art. Carlos Castilho, Denis McCarthy, Adrian Barber, Michelle Smallwood, Dan Smith, and others have already signed on. The book contains rules for exploring and clearing hexes, founding and ruling a domain, adding specific rural and urban infrastructure benefits to hexes and cities that provide mechanical benefits, a simplified mass combat system, random weather generation, rules for creating new character classes, and some revised and unique character classes for B/X-style games.

For anyone into Fate, the Kickstarter for the physical copy of the Book of Hanz went live.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/amazingrando/the-book-of-hanz-for-the-fate-rpg-zinequest-3

While I'm the author, it's not "my" kickstarter, and the proceeds are going to support the Fate-SRD, which is a fantastic community resource.

I'm biased, but I do think there's interesting general GM advice in there as well, for certain types of games.

If you back at the "success with style, part 2" reward level, I'll be in that game.

http://www.mapforge-software.com/Non-Secure/Images/Diverse_Dungeons_KS_Project_Image.png (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/dungeon-diversity)

If you've ever struggled with all your dungeon maps all looking basically the same, here's a solution. This crowdfunding campaign seeks to broaden MapForge's fantasy-genre content offerings by producing 9 more fantasy-themed mapping content Add-Ons, in order to better support the creation of top-down tactical-scale dungeon battlemaps for tabletop RPG systems such as D&D and Pathfinder.

Quick delivery of rewards is expected (May 2021), and there are no shipping costs involved, since it's all digital downloads. Note that it's a short campaign, which ends in 9 days.

Hey folks, I just wanted to share my new project in case anyone is interested!
Pretentious Games for Villains and Bastards is an anthology of 9 unique and experimental TTRPGs produced by Don't Hurt Birds, with games from a really exciting range of majority-trans creators across the UK and US. With titles like 'Kissing in the Weird Future' and 'Eat Trash and Die' I reckon some of these games are a great fit for the GitP forums, so feel free to take a look <3 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/storybox/pretentious-games-for-villains-and-bastards

I have a lot of fun running my D&D games, especially higher-level games where there's a lot going on and a lot of attacks being thrown around. I typically have larger party of five to six players. I noticed that it would usually take time for people to pick out and roll the appropriate dice to attack, then cross-reference to their character sheet, then roll again for damage and cross-reference again to see what to add.

Even for someone who rolls all of their dice at once, separating out three or four different types of results, like attack versus regular damage, versus damage from being a holy weapon, versus the weapon also being on fire takes time. I tried to figure out how to make things more efficient, so we could spend more time playing and less time waiting on dice-rolling and math, and this was the result. It's a simple concept, but I couldn't find anything like it on the market.

As a result... The Battle Box:

http://www.battlebox.us/labeled-render.jpg
www.battlebox.us

There's a slot along the top that allows you to write whatever labels you want on a 1/2" wide strip of paper and slip it in. Pre-make labels for different games and swap them out, change them out easily when you find new loot or level up, etc... no special/fancy paper needed.
Final dims are 11.65" L x 2.81" D x 3.16"H. This size easily accomodates 4 standard-size D&D dice of any type (I measured, they're surprisingly close in largest dimensions) within each compartment.

I will be launching the Kickstarter in early June, and I'm currently trying to get some interest/visibility drummed up. The pre-launch link is on the Battlebox website at the top.

Polypropylene molds are expensive, and so's shipping. Bulky items ship based on dimensional weight, so I'm looking at 4 boxes (at a few ounces each) being treated as weighing 9 lbs. The price point for an order of 4 ends up around $16 per box ($64 total) shipped in the US; an order of 12 ends up at about $14 each shipped, and 30 at about $13 each shipped. An order of 12 would equip an entire party/table, and the bigger orders I'm assuming would be group buys or game stores. I do have a plan to put some sticker labels on the front to help prep them for retail sale if there's interest for that.

I'm totally open for feedback, interviews, articles, etc.

Edit 6/14/2021: This is now live!

I'd like to pitch a Kickstarter for a new gritty, Iron Age inspired superhero setting. It's called Nocturne and is part of the new Blood & Justice series for the Prowlers & Paragons superhero RPG system. The Kickstarter was fully funded in the first day and is looking for that last push here in its last 48 hours or so to hit some of its desired stretch goals. The writer and creator - Bill Keyes - is a good friend of mine and has a singular talent for worldbuidling and campaign design. This is a setting that he's been building up for a long time and he's really excited for it to see the light of day so others can share in it. Please take a look and consider supporting this Kickstarter. Given some of the other things that Bill has produced (and the games I've played in with him), you're not going to be disappointed.

I'm too new to post link as yet, but if you do a Kickstarter search for "Blood & Justice: Welcome to Nocturne," you'll find it. Thanks!

I'm planning on launching a Kickstarter in about a month to compile and expand on the seven hexes in the Basilisk Hills cluster from the Populated Hexes series. There will be three options to back: the compiled existing seven hexes (about 150 pages), almost one hundred new, broadly filled out hexes (another 150 pages), or the existing compiled along with the new, to create a hexcrawl location about the size of Puerto Rico.

Pre-launch page is here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdkingdom/basilisk-hills-hexcrawl-region

EDIT:

The Basilisk Hills Hexcrawl Region is now live on Kickstarter. It has three pledge options:

1. The original seven 6-mile hexes in the Basilisk Hills cluster, each with 24-30 pages of content including lairs, features, new classes, rules for founding clerical temples, researching spells, ritual magic, and much more. About 150 pages of material.

2. An additional 98 hexes filled out in broad strokes and less detail than the original cluster, but featuring multiple dungeons, lairs, and more. About 150 pages of material.

3. A compilation of the compiled and supplemental hexcrawl material into a single, roughly 300 page hexcrawl region.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdkingdom/basilisk-hills-hexcrawl-region

The original cluster of individual hexes can be found on Drivethrurpg, and for the duration of the Kickstarter Hex 15.21 is 75% off its normal price: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/313505/Hex-1521--The-Rivers-Source

This is a kickstarter that two of my friends are working on, and one I would be very excited to see succeed. It's called the Scarlet Oak Tavern.

Basically, this is a tavern by gamers, for gamers. It's going to have a gaming library patrons can draw from, and provide a game friendly environment--along with food and alcohol. I've known these two for a while, and they've put a lot of thought and research into this. If any of you are in the Raleigh area, or just want to see projects like this succeed, they could really use your support.

Most map-making apps usually give short shrift to the Modern Day genre, if they support it at all. That's a shame. But it's also an opportunity.

Modern Day map-makers deserve an app that caters specifically to them, one with a rich and comprehensive mapping asset library.

Luna Publishing is happy to present a set of 5 fun and unique mini adventures for the world's greatest roleplaying game, D&D 5th Edition.

This set of Cheap Thrills is designed for parties of low-level adventurers between 1st and 5th level. Many are great fillers useful for filling adventures in a campaign. Use them to start a campaign, as an insert into a larger campaign, or as a one-shot adventure.

Take a look at our website at luna-publishing.com for more information!

The following mini adventures come part of 'Cheap Thrills':

Skeletons in the Closet – Displaced from his family, a man returns home to inherit the ancestral home. With plans to sell it and leave the place of his birth once more, he begins making repairs and finds an old and sealed tunnel leading to an ancestral tomb he wasn't aware of...

Deadly Nightshade – A young man's parents beseech the party to slay an evil witch who has cursed their son to never awaken from a nightmare. The players must make their way into a dangerous thicket filled with the witches guardians, but is the witch justified in her punishment?

Vale of Shadow – A maiden is possessed by the evil spirit haunting an amulet. She races towards the spirits place of rest and power. The party is tasked with doing what they must to stop the amulet from reaching its destination. Is the party willing to kill an innocent woman to stop the great evil she is being forced to unleash, or can they find another way?

Alpha - The blood moon has risen. The pack has picked their prey. Moving through the forest the party comes across a grisly scene, and upon investigating find themselves the target of a werewolf pack. Can they survive the night?

Cult of the Rainbow Serpent - Strange cultists have been kidnapping men and women from their homes and taking them to the deep jungle. Inside of an ancient ruin a strange heavenly being demands human sacrifice. Can the cult be stopped?

Each adventure is designed with the following:

Introduction and Compatibility: Text to help introduce the adventure along with a description. Suggestions on how and where to use it.

Map: If applicable a battlemap will come with the adventure, and a separate high resolution download will be available for VTT use, or for print.

Appropriate Rewards: Level appropriate treasure rewards. Make it fast.

Encounter Stat Blocks: All encounters are made to be printed in quarter page format for easy tabletop reference.

GMs of sci-fi RPGs like Starfinder, Traveller, Shadowrun, Star Wars RPG, Stars without Number, Numenera, and other Sci-Fi RPG systems need and deserve a good set of tools and assets to create great looking battlemaps, whether they will be printed for use at the gaming table, or for use in virtual tabletop software like Roll20, Foundry, or Fantasy Grounds.

Most map-making apps usually give short shrift to the Sci-Fi genre. Not MapForge (http://www.mapforge-software.com/), which already offers 24 content Add-Ons to support Sci-Fi mapping. (https://www.mapforge-software.com/product-tag/sci-fi/) This crowdfunding campaign is an effort to bring that number up to 40 or more.

By really beefing up the Sci-Fi genre content that's already available with exciting new content from leading asset creators, MapForge wants to become the ultimate Sci-Fi map-making app for tabletop RPGs. Whether you want to make maps of futuristic cities, starbases, or spaceships, check out this Kickstarter and help make it happen (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/even-more-sci-fi-content-add-ons-for-mapforge).

We've got some great new content lined up, and are raising funds to cover the porting/development costs.

Quick delivery of rewards is expected, and there are no shipping costs involved, since it's all digital downloads.

Even if you're not into Sci-Fi mapping, this is also a great opportunity to pick up a MapForge license (https://www.mapforge-software.com/licenses/) at a discount.

Luna Publishing is happy to present a set of 5 fun and unique mini adventures for the world's greatest roleplaying game, D&D 5th Edition.

This set of Cheap Thrills is themed after one of the most dangerous, frightening, and classic monsters in folklore and popular culture. The Vampire.

5 short adventures designed for parties of mid to low-level adventurers between 3rd and 13th level. Use the adventures to quickly add a unique vampire encounter. You can tie the adventures into your main story as well. Each module contains at least one unique monster with a vampiric theme. Use them as part of a larger campaign, or as a quick one-shot adventure. All for less than the price of a cup of coffee.

In addition, our previous Penny Dreadful: Cheap Thrills are available with a $5 add-on. Dollmaker, and our Memento Mori package are both available as optional add-ons as well in case you want to grab some of our older successful projects for a steal to help support his new project. Make sure when you pledge to take a look at them.

The following mini adventures come part of 'Fanged Fables':

It Takes a Village – An isolated village becomes the target of a terrifying feast. A group of vampire spawn under the yoke of terrible necromancer lays waste to a town in a feeding frenzy. The necromancer, meanwhile, searches for an artifact he is certain the village has kept hidden.

The Abbey - A party of adventurers discover an abbey of nuns off the beaten path. Asking for a chance to rest for the evening, the nuns are reluctant, but eventually allow entry. The party is given a room to rest in before the night falls. What terrible things shall occur once night overtakes the abbey.

Deadly Games - Captured in the night a party of adventurers have begun a part of a vast game held by a vampiric court. The game? Escape the bowels of my castle and you may claim whatever treasures you find with no fear of being hunted down. Fail, and you shall be served as our meal.

The Feral Garden - Groups of vicious and seemingly vampiric animals have begun attacking anyone travelling outside of town at night. Locals blame a mad druid living deep in the forest who ranted about the evils buried in the iron mine.

Orc Blood - A tribe of orcs has had vampirism spread driving them all to even more barbaric acts than normal. Someone has to go and slay the entire tribe. However, they have buried themselves deep within the mountain where there is no hope of sunlight being an ally.

The Lake of Abominations Hexcrawl Kickstarter is now live (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdkingdom/lake-of-abominations-hexcrawl-compilation). Written for Old School Essentials, but easily adapted to most fantasy games, this follows on the heels of the Basilisk Hills Hexcrawl Kickstarter from last year. It will come in three flavors:

*Compiled. This compiles the seven hexes that are already written for the eponymous cluster into a single pdf and book. Looks to be about 140 pages.

*Supplemental. I'll be adding an additional 80+ hexes to the region to increase the size of the area. This tier is geared towards folks who already have the individual hexes. It looks like there will be about 140-150 pages in this book.

*Ultimate. Combining the two above, this book will be between 280-300 pages of hexcrawl fun. This tier will also offer an offset print version of the book, for folks looking for a better than POD quality.

If you're a GM who uses battlemaps and map tiles (either printed or in a virtual tabletop app), check out this Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/tileforge-software-to-batch-generate-mapping-tiles) for a new app that will let you create entire tilesets super quickly and easily. Why purchase all your tilesets if you can make them yourself to your exact specifications?

I’m Philip, and I’ve been active in the DnD community since about 2019, my reddit presence in DnD communities is mostly thanks to the fact that I wrote the free PDF “New Neverwinter” on DMsGuild. My background is in pedagogy and media & design - so as a writer I have a strict philosophy that my material should be easy to understand and digest - while also being pleasing to the eye. Many years back the Meso-American history and tales from hundreds of years back caught my interest, and I began researching it on my off-time. Combined with DnD and literally thousands of hours of work… I’m finally ready to present my creation!

Trials of Hualnemi, an adventure ranging from levels 1 to 12 that strays from European fantasy to something different and fresh. Taking place entirely on an island known as Hualnemi, an island untouched by visitors for centuries. The campaign is structured around the players starting off within the large city of Epyollotli, and slowly but surely exploring the dangerous wilds outside the city walls.

The book features a lot of content that has been polished through feedback by players and Dungeon Masters alike over a long time. Experience this adventure with a new base class, new races, feats, spells, a new mechanic known as Group Rituals, magic items, monsters and revised tables for thematic armors, weapons, items and much more!

The book is almost done. It will get a bit more polish before it’s release, but mainly it isn’t released because I intend to fill the book with tons of juicy art (with the Kickstarter funds) for everything within. I’ll happily answer any and all questions!

By This Axe - The Cyclopedia of Dwarven Civilization (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/autarch/by-this-axe-the-cyclopedia-of-dwarven-civilization)

https://i.imgur.com/nnc2Ok3.jpg

The Kickstarter for By This Axe - The Cyclopedia of Dwarven Civilization (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/autarch/by-this-axe-the-cyclopedia-of-dwarven-civilization) is now live. It is a 200+ page hardcover book of dwarf-specific lore and rules, written for three groups of gamers:

GMs creating and running fantasy campaigns using any OSR systems who would like to add more depth, variety, and verisimilitude to their dwarves. If you’ve thought to yourself, “if only I better understood the per-capita productivity of dwarven mushroom farms, I could more easily simulate the siege of Dragon’s Tor,” this book is for you.

Players participating in an OSR campaign who would like to test out some new character classes and gameplay experiences. If you find yourself saying, “I wish my dwarf could build a steam-powered tank to delve through a mine while high on berserker-rage-inducing mushrooms,” then this book is for you, too.

Gamers who just really love dwarves. If your ringtone intones “Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!” when anyone calls, if you cultivate a chest-length beard with battle-braids, if you prefer to drink your bread in mugs, if you’ve been forging a battle axe over your stove during lunch hour, then this book is for you above all.

The book has ten chapters:

Chapter 1, Introduction, details the audience, purpose, and approach for this book.

Chapter 2, Dwarven Lore, provides an overview of the ethnicity, physiology, language, and customs of dwarves. It is narrated from the point of view of a sage in the world of the Auran Empire.

Chapter 3, Dwarven Characters, explains how to roll up a dwarven character in any one of six racial classes, including the craftpriest, delver, earthforger, fury, machinist, and vaultguard.

Chapter 4, Dwarven Templates, provides eight pre-generated templates for each character class in this book. Using these templates, you can easily make your vaultguard a highborn lord, your machinist an apothecary, or your craftpriest a reliquary guardian.

Chapter 5, Dwarven Earthforging, details a new style of magic, wielded by the earthforger class, whose innate talents have allowed them to channel the power within materials to reshape their form.

Chapter 6, Dwarven Automatons, presents rules for designing, building, and repairing clockwork and steampunk-type machines. The section includes over 20 example vehicles, objects, and other automatons to act as examples for the build process and/or to include in your game as items to encounter or use, or as blueprints in treasure hoards.

Chapter 7, Dwarven Domains, explains how your dwarven characters can establish themselves as rulers of domains and realms, with rules for agriculture, urban settlements, vassals, garrisons, and more.

Chapter 8, Dwarven Mining, expands the rules for domains to include mining for precious metals and quarrying for stone. Special rules for “delving too deep” allow your dwarves to greedily hunger for gold - risking potentially dire consequences.

Chapter 9, Dwarven Mycoculture, details the secret methods of mushroom farming used by the dwarves to feed their vaults and brew their marvelous ales and beers.

Chapter 10, Dwarven Relics, offers a catalog of over 35 rare and powerful dwarven relics, artifacts, and antiquities that might be guarded in sacred reliquaries, wielded by dwarf lords, or re-discovered in lost vaults and deep and hidden places.

I'm posting this as an excited backer who has loved the work this author has produced so far, and is hoping to see the campaign hit what I think are some very cool stretch goals to expand the book further. (Really excited for what looks like a very high-quality dwarf-specific OSR book, the Dwarven Defender was my first PC back in the 3.5 days and I've been hooked since.)

I normally only lurk about, but figured I'd make an actual account to post this in case anyone was interested.

The small company I work for has a Kickstarter up for a 5e Creature Compendium. It has over 250 monsters within, with snazzy art and a hefty amount of lore. The creatures are all drawn from the Endless Realms setting, and built for DND 5e. Hope if suits your fancy, but if not, that's cool too.

Given my newness to posting, can't really toss in a link, but it can be found by searching for Endless Realms Creature Compendium for 5e on Kickstarter or google. We've already met our modest funding goal, so feel free to check it out. Thanks!

Have you ever wanted to make your own isometric maps for your tabletop RPG campaigns? If so, you might want to check out this new Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/isometric-content-add-ons-for-mapforge-map-making-software/) I just launched to port lots more isometric content to MapForge (http://www.mapforge-software.com/). Focusing more on fantasy/medieval content, this time around.

Update, 8 Feb: Currently about 50% funded, and you can now download a free sampler set of 22 PNG assets (see KS Update #2 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/isometric-content-add-ons-for-mapforge-map-making-software/posts/3726580)).

This Kickstarter campaign should be very interesting to GMs of Modern Day TTRPGs (e.g., d20 Modern, GURPS Spec Ops, Top Secret, Spycraft, Aftermath!, Champions etc.) looking to make tactical-scale battlemaps for their campaign.

I frequently come across posts from people bemoaning the lack of a good map-making solution for Modern Day maps. Well, here's one (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/even-more-modern-day-mapping-content-for-mapforge-software).

Whether you want to make street maps for your Supers RPG campaign, interior maps for your d20 Modern game, or post-apocalyptic urban maps for your zombies game, this is a project that you should consider supporting.

And even if Modern Day mapping isn't your thing, this campaign is also a great way to pick up a MapForge license at a discount, in case you want to make fantasy or sci-fi maps, instead.

Hello everyone, I'm Vlad and I'm here to offer you my modest kickstarter project.
We launched it yesterday, and it was founded in the first 2 hours (not a great achievement as the limit for founding is really very low, as it is digital only).
These are three short dungeons, designed to be plug and play, but with a page dedicated to making them a short open campaign.
The dungeons start from low levels to go up gradually, with the possibility of further increasing the level of difficulty, in a way integrated into the story and based on the time elapsed. If players visit the dungeon and leave without completing it, only to return later, they will find that things are much more difficult now.
Each map features new monsters and reinterpretations of old glories, captivating riddles and stories that are sometimes seemingly frivolous, but which always hide some element that can touch deeply.
Through stretch goals it will be possible to unlock additional dungeons, more illustrations and documents in role, as well as the possibility to further increase the challenge level of each dungeon (or even decrease it).
The maps are developed with Inkarnate, and one of the pledge levels allows you to get them in VTT compatible format.

I hope this project will intrigue you and that you will at least want to take a peek at it, if only to find out what the Mimic-alikes mentioned in the introductory video are.

we wait for you here! (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fleetsave/mad-alchemist-3-dungeons-for-3-bucks-for-5e/description)

Hoping this doesn't get lost in the mix here: Does anybody know of any Homebrew/Crowdfunded books that offer class feature variants ala Tasha's? I'm interested to see what they may have, but I've never seen anything like that and am wondering if there's some reason that isn't more popular (or if it's some kind of OGL taboo)

I'm late, but Chamomile's guide to everything has a bunch of them. And also other optional rules. It was crowd funded awhile ago.

PDF here: https://chamomilehasgames.itch.io/chamomiles-guide-to-everything
hardcover here: https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/411963/Chamomiles-Guide-to-Everything

Also, setting type books tend to have that stuff.
