im trying to find the biggest baddest lance in the game. is there only a light and heavy lance or is there a great lance somewhere? what book? thanks

There's not greatlance as far as I can tell, but there is a greatspear in Complete Warrior.

You'll find them in 3.0. They were merged in 3.5.

You're gonna have more luck with feats, race, and the right magic weapon properties than with a special lance.

The only lance I can recall at the moment that's really noteworthy is the Lance of Faerun which gives the Spirited Charge feat, but it's really expensive due to also being a +3 or +4 weapon besides.

A +1 Valorous Collision Lance combined with being mounted and spirited charge is x4 damage on a charge. (4.5)*4+(5)*4+PA*4 = 38 + 4xPower Attack Damage on average, 5x power attack if you're doing it two-handed.

A Keen(spell or property), Kaorti Resin(aka Ribbon) Lance deals x4 damage on a crit, so... that'd be x7 damage on a charging crit. 66.5 + 7xPower Attack damage. 8x with two-handed.

Be a Bariaur or Centaur or other creature that counts as mounted and yet can qualify for the Leap Attack feat, then throwing Leap Attack on gets you X4 damage and X6 Power Attack damage. With Shock Trooper, you can pour your full BAB into power attack as well.

A level of Barbarian with the Spirit Lion Totem ACF from Complete Champion and you can full attack on a charge.
