Hey All:

A friend of mine is trying to design a grappler/monk type class for a game i am running soon. One of the class features he wnats to add is constrict. Is there any particularly game-breaking cheese i should be aware of before allowing it?

Also, the class is an Initaitor with access to Setting Sun, Stone Dragon, and Tiger Claw -- would there be any overlap with maneuvers gained by the class?

Thanks for the help!

It's a fast way to multiply damage output (twice the damage rolls as normal, maybe a bit less for missing out on some minor bonuses). That could be good or bad, depending on where the numbers are in the first place.

EDIT:
On overlap with maneuvers, Stone Dragon has a Constrict stance, but most of ToB steers clear of grapple mechanics.

It's like Rend - free damage for doing what you'd do anyway. How powerful it is depends on how much damage it does and what the character gives up to get it.
