She shakes her head. No, no, it's fine, dear. She grins at her reassuringly.

Karyana grins back, going to pull Zwei down next to her.

She snuggles close and smiles!

Karyana smiles as well, nestling against her wife, and kissing her forehead.

She is out, don't worry.
She grins, leading her to the bed where Tsiln is fast asleep, looking exhausted.

Karyana frowns worriedly, sitting down next to the Execuloth, and bringing one of her wrists to her mouth.

If she's checking Tsiln's heartbeat, she's fine, just tired and stressed and adoring this sleep. She reflexively curls up all over Karyana!

It was going to be Karyana's wrist to her own mouth, so that she could do some blood magic to give Tsiln a bit more energy, but that works too, and the vampire holds her close, calming a bit now that she knows she's alright.

She murmurs happily as Zwei settles in on the other side.

Karyana gently strokes her hair, hoping to get her to sleep a bit more deeply.

She snuggles close and settles down; Zwei soon conks out with her!

Karyana soon falls asleep as well, possibly setting things up for a timeskip to preparations for going to wherever it is that they're planning on her having Tiri.

Carrie will be there for it, helping Karyana manage the pain! All the girlies are gathered around to help, and Callie might have brought Tiri too.

Tiri is indeed there, holding Callie's hand rather tightly, plainly nervous. Talia (the Nixie, not the crazy pyrokinetic) may be too; if so, she'll have an arm around the half-demon.

Karyana smiles up at everyone, looking rather stressed, and obviously not entirely sure what needs to be happening.

Okay, hon. Here's the way it's supposed to go... first, Okay, first everything is going to be painful and really terrible.
And then you're going to have to push and it's going to hurt a lot.
And then your daughter will be making a huge fuss and you will be the happiest person in the omniverse.
Carrie smiles and strokes her hair and... I actually have to briefly deadtime, so perhaps the blue medical curtain falleth?

Indeed it does, to raise when you get back.

Up it comes with Tsiln and Zwei helping Karyana hold baby Tiri; Callie's so excited she grabs and kisses Non-Baby Tiri.
Carrie is stroking her hair and pouring on the healing magic.

Zwei looks proud enough to burst; Tsiln is crying happily into Karyana's shoulder, thanking her.

Carrie praises her paladin on a job well done.
That's my girl.
It's a good time.

Non-Baby Tiri blinks in surprise, and then happily kisses back, holding her friend tightly.

Karyana, meanwhile, looks much the same as Zwei, and is gently stroking Tsiln's hair, murmuring thanks to her as well.

"Thanks, Carrie. And for being here for me..."

Carrie strokes her head. Anytime, hon.
Now rest with your gals here.

Karyana nods, happy but exhausted.

"You'll stay too, right?"

She nods and rubs her back gently.

The vampire slowly drifts off into sleep, then, smiling peacefully.

Meanwhile, Non-Baby Tiri goes to quietly slip out, presumably planning to give her mothers some time by themselves.

Within this desolate building of mouldering Victorian, Gothic Revival architecture and broken glass, are several rooms of potentially lootable qualities (depending on if Tlannae wants to explore further, and C'nor is up for a slight dungeony thing). But just inside its dingy, broken-down door is a reception area with a low ebony table, a long counter behind which librarians once worked and several shelves of crumbling novels and tomes. A single book stand, ornately carved with Celtic knots and twining dragons from polished yew, stands underneath a mouldy painting of some dogs playing poker. On that book stand sits (or possibly stands) a tome of unadorned black leather, with no sign of an author or a title upon its cover.

Tlannae, on entrance, frowns slightly, confused by the cleaner nature of the stand, and reaches out to run a finger down the cover of the book, trying to see if there's the amount of dust on it that there should be, as compared to the rest of the room.

There is no dust on the book. It is completely dust free. It's also bound in leather, that may or may not be made from human skin. Seriously; I don't know what animal that leather came from. It is nice and soft, though.

Well, that's not reassuring. Though fortunately, this isn't Spreagadh; she'd probably be able to recognize human leather, what with having a quiver and belt made out of it (well, technically, that of a Mortal Wendigo, but close enough), but Tlannae is completely oblivious to its dubious origins.

In any case, that test completed, she's now quite certain that this is not a normal book for this place, and, keeping a firm hold on the stand, goes to flip the cover open with a dagger.

Looking at the shade, I'd say it's more likely to be goblin, orc or ogre rather than human. But, I don't know. It might be sheep leather, or cow. Something nice and ordinary. Or cockatrice, pegasus or even unicorn.

The book's title is The Tome of Haemomancy. Tlannae is not hit by any supernatural forces or compulsions forcing her to read further, but she may be soon.

Replacing the dagger, she reads on despite the lack of compulsions, and will be completely unresistant to any that might occur.

Tlannae will learn the secret behind a vampire's kiss, and gain the ability to heal herself by drinking blood. Nothing else vampire-y, though, so no turning into a bat, making more vampires, or violent sunlight allergies. It will take far less time to read than might be expected; it's magic like that. Also, when Tlannae finishes the book, she'll find it crumbles to dust before her eyes.

Result 4 would be rather handy then, especially if Tlannae didn't know. But that's spoilers. The likelihood of the 4:4 being rolled given the 20 different titles each with 4 different subjects is rather small, however.

To the left is the Children's Wing. It's large, airy, with several bookshelves against the walls and a playpen in the corner. The walls are brightly coloured, though the paint is peeling and faded, now. There's several steps down behind the counter, which is shorter than the main one- it's for children, and the area behind is sunken to enable the librarian behind it to deal with the children without seeming threatening. There's no visible way out of this room, but some partially-dust filled footprints (they're old) lead towards one of the bookshelves and disappear.

Tlannae is aware, and they're good friends despite it; her sister is Karyana.

In any case, she lays a line of salt across the threshold of the room, then follows the footsteps, drawing the dagger from earlier, which is made of reasonably pure iron, as she goes.

The footprints stop at a bookshelf that seems the same as all the others, in that it's dusty, old and missing most of the books. Lying sideways on the bottom shelf is 1,111 Types of Demon & How to Control Them, there's three different books about the alphabet and a boxed set of The Famous Five missing all the books is several shelves up. There's a knothole behind the Famous Five box, however.

There may, however, still be more interesting items hidden within this chamber.

Tlannae pokes at the knothole with the dagger, though unless that has immediate results, she'll turn her attention to the demonolgy book, since that, if it's actually a serious book of rituals, seems to be a very odd thing to have in the children's section.

The knothole is pressed! There's a click, and the bookshelf slowly creaks outward slightly. Turns out the demonology book is just a book, if misfiled. Or maybe it isn't, and this library was creepy before it was abandoned.

She goes to snag the book and stow it in her pack - after all, there's no reason not to at least rip off the rituals and sell them to new mages -, then tries to pull open the bookshelf the rest of the way, if she can do so one-handed, so as not to let go of the dagger.

The book is snagged! Behind the bookcase is a small space containing a ladder leading upwards. The hidden ladder is slightly rusty and bolted to the wall. There's no sign of any light sources along its length, meaning that it will be quite dark. Lying at the foot of the ladder is the dessicated corpse of what once was a fox; quite how it got there is unclear.

Well, that's hardly reassuring. Even if it is only a fox.

However, she decides, perhaps foolishly, to press on for now, and goes to climb the ladder.

Given that the book crumbled to ash after it was read, it's doubtful that it was involved in the fox's death. Indeed, it seems natural dessication.

The ladder leads up to another small chamber, much like the one at the bottom. It also continues on. However, it's dark, and there's very little light. It's possible that Tlannae will pass by the small cubbyhole and its exit to the floor above without noticing it.

Tlannae is moving fairly slowly, and rather observant, so she does indeed notice it, and goes to slip off the ladder into it, drawing her dagger again as soon as she's on solid footing, and, unless something would prevent her, leaving another salt barrier across the opening between the ladder and the room.

Nothing prevents the salt barrier. This secret door is behind a cupboard, which swings forward silently. The room it leads to is dark; the windows here have been boarded over. It's also much cleaner, though there's still only a few books on the shelves around the room. There's two doors leading away; one is marked 'Supplies'.

Probably it's useless, then. But still. Can't hurt to try...

Tlannae goes to slam her dagger into one of the boards and twist, hoping to drill a hole in it and let some light in, though regardless of whether or not it works, unless something tries to prevent her, she'll examine the books, taking any that might be interested, before checking what's presumably the supply closet, not wanting to leave something unchecked behind her.

When the dagger hits the board, it may have more of an effect than Tlannae was expecting- it's an old board, and rotten through. The only thing keeping it up is force of habit. Anyway, there's light entering the room now.

Most of the few books are foreign language, divided into sections on language. There's a German-French translation guide (though of little use if Tlannae speaks neither). Standing out is a children's alphabet book using the Abyssal alphabet of letters designed to hurt when carved into the flesh of still-living captives (a fact clearly shown in the illustration for B, D, E, F, G, K, M, P, R, S and T), a book called Thirty Years Experience: My Findings on the Sasquatch, and a book called 101 Recipes For Eyeballs.

Also, I'm not fully aware of what the salt barrier is designed to stop- evil spirits, undead, both or something else entirely?

Ghosts are the primary thing she's worried about. But I believe it was traditionally effective on certain varieties of Fae, and sometimes other evil spirits, as well.

In any case, the last three books are taken, followed by her continuing on to the supply closet.

Inside the supply closet are some more shelves, mostly empty but there's some empty rolls of sellotape, a box of old brittle rubbers and a collection of broken pencils. Also, tied up in the corner, is a skeleton. The skeleton's hands are bound behind its back, and its ankles are also tied together. Its dressed in an adult female's one-piece swimming costume. Tied around the skull through the mouth is a dirty piece of cloth used as a gag. There's a bag nearby, and a hole and a stain in the swimming costume's chest area suggests that she didn't die of neglect but rather of something long and pointy which is no longer present.

Hm. Interesting. That's certainly not something one sees in a library every day... Tlannae, naturally enough, goes to investigate the bag, leaving the skeleton well alone for the moment, though she does keep it in sight, if possible.

Inside the bag are some towels, a single set of women's underwear, and a flowery dress. There's also a leather purse and a very old mobile telephone; it's screen has cracked, and it's plastic cover has faded from its original colour. It's out of charge, too.

Whilst Tlannae keeps her eyes on the skeleton and doesn't look away from it, it's a skeleton.

That makes her feel a bit better about leaving it behind her, then. Which, unless there's some reason it wouldn't work, she does, heading back out to take the previously-mentioned other door, leaving the relatively worthless stuff here where it is for the moment.

There's a moan coming from behind Tlannae. Should she look, she'll see the skeleton. But she'll also see something else. Specifically, a young, pretty woman with long, wet hair wearing a one-piece swimming costume. Her ankles are heavily wrapped in sticky tape, and her wrists are similarly bound behind her back. A dirty piece of cloth goes is gagging her. Also, she's occupying the exact same space as the skeleton, which moves with her; she's a ghost.

Tlannae frowns, and heads back over, staying out of reach of the skeleton for as long as she can, though she'll have to approach more closely when she goes to remove the gag from its mouth, in the hopes that that'll do the same for the ghost.

Tlannae ungags the ghost by ungagging her corpse. "Please, help me. There's these men, and I don't know what they want to do to me. They dragged me up here and have left me here since. I was taken from a public swimming pool! The nerve... I'm really scared." There's one difference between the ghost and her remains- the ghost's swimming costume is whole and unstained, whereas the body was stabbed in the chest.

"I think it's a bit late for me to help you, l'sani... Still, there are some of your kind in the Nexus, so I'll try, at least," she replies, carefully going to cut the tape on the ghost's hands, and then, assuming that no others show up, and nothing that would stop her takes place, that around the ghost's ankles. "What's your name? And have you got any family?"

The ghost, and the skeleton it's inadvertently possessing stretches its arms and then its legs when the binds are cut. "Bit.. Late? What do you mean? Oh, no, are you one of them? STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!" She's jumping to conclusions, however she has been dead for a long time without realising it, and she's confused by Tlannae's words and actions (helping her by releasing her bonds, yet then saying it's too late to help, and using weird words).

Also, I thought Tlannae was human?

She is. The ghost, however, is a ghost, and hence a different kind of being, even if she was also human at one point.

In any case, she steps back warily, dagger ready should it be needed, shaking her head.

"I'm not one of them. But you're dead. A ghost. One with a fairly good chance of making a normal unlife of it, it looks like, seeing as how you can move about and such, but... Still a bit late for the kind of help I think you had in mind."

"I can't be dead. I'm not dead. I can't be. I'd know if I was, right?" The ghost gets up and backs away, taking the skeleton with her. "Oh, great and merciless Bane, I'm dead! What do I do now?" The cause for her revelation was a glance at the floor- thick dust, and she's leaving the foot prints of a skeleton rather than the fully-fleshed young woman she thinks she is.

"...Good question? I mean, I'm not exactly an expert in career choices for ghosts or anything," Tlannae says, shrugging somewhat. "You can tag along with me, if you like, though. Who knows? Maybe you'll get a shot at the guys who kidnapped you, if they're still around too..."

"How can I help? I don't know how long I've been here, but it was 1996 when I was kidnapped. It felt like I was here years, but I told myself it felt longer than it was. I just... I want to rule a portion of the afterlife under the Lord of Tyranny." I like Bane, the Faerunian God of Tyranny. If I did the Dalachrechians now, they'd be Banites. But I haven't, and I'm happy with the Dalachrechians as they are- give me more choice to cross universes (give DnD clerics pokemon, etc).

"Wonderful. Of course. I don't know your calendar. Or how to help you out with your afterlife problem. But you could probably help by hitting them with something; I think I have a spare dagger around somewhere that you can use..."

"I'm dead! What can I do with a knife?" As she speaks, the skeleton slowly falls over. Now she knows she's dead, she's stopped deluding herself she has a body. She jumps and turns around at the crash.

"Well, before you stopped using that skeleton, you could have done whatever you would have normally," Tlannae points out, looking mildly annoyed with the ghost. "But now? Not so much, yeah."

"I... I don't know what I was doing to move the skeleton. Hang on, I'll... Give it a try." The ghost sits down and tries to get herself back into her skeleton. It's not too successful.

"If you're not tied to it, I doubt they would be either, so if you can't manage it, don't worry too much..."

The warrior will wait for a bit, seeing if the ghost manages to reacquaint herself with her body, before, either way, going to head out of the room.

"I'm sorry, but I'm a corpse. I want to go. But... I want my sister to know, too. Her name's Violet O'Sheath. Last I heard it was, anyway. Could be married now. Or dead. She's in Riverside, the house number was 22 Aldbrook Way, opposite the petrol station. Tell her that Myrtle is dead, and give her my skull. Please; she'll know what to do."

"You're also a ghost. I'll get the skull, since you're not moving it around anymore, but why not tell her yourself? Seems like the sort of thing she'll take better from you than a random stranger, after all. And that way you can keep an eye on me to make sure I do, too."

"Ghosts are usually bound to the site of their deaths, or somewhere that had special meaning for them. I probably couldn't leave this library even if I wanted to. Which I don't, because yes, I'm a ghost. But I'm also wearing my swimming costume." Which is remarkably modest, for a swimming costume, but still not acceptable for a conservative person to want to wear around Riverside.

"So you'd prefer staying in the rotting building you were dragged to after being kidnapped until it falls down around your ears to being seen in a swimsuit, assuming it's possible to leave here for you? I mean, it's not like you weren't wearing it in public at the pool you went to, was it? For that matter, I've seen people wearing less than that coming out of clubs in Riverside, so you're not going to exactly stand out if we go in at the right time.

And for that matter, speaking of Riverside, is she in Eastside, Westside, or Northside? Aldbrook Way could be in any or all of those, you know. Besides which, they might have renamed it, so is there any way to recognize it other than the name, and the fact that there's a petrol station - whatever that is - across the street from her house."

"The pool was at the house of a woman I considered friend, so not public, no. As for the clothing, youngsters always dress like prostitutes. It's Northside, I think. To the north of the town, anyway. I'm not familiar with those districts." She lived during the time Riverside was run by the Mafia. "It's a semi-detached house, with a large baobab tree growing in the front garden. The house next door is used as a gang hideout; my sister sells them home-made cupcakes occasionally." Myrtle has got rather odd priorities, I admit.

"I have some time before we have to actually head back there for you to meet her... You want to take advantage of that?"

I did not intend to write anywhere near as much as I did on her appearance, so if you don't really care about that, everything past the first line of the second paragraph can be safely skipped.))

A few moments after Aseti speaks, Karyana appears on the outskirts of the clearing, probably with at least Zwei and Paisley, though if possible she'd prefer to also bring Tsiln and Aephiti.

In any case, whoever is accompanying her, the vampire is in her fully human form, and wearing a black velvet gown, the back, sides, and sleeves of which are made of rather elaborate lace, along with dark green velvet gloves, the tops of which, from the wrist to the tip of each finger, have a matching pattern worked into them, and soft leather ankle-boots of the same shade as the gloves.

Her hair, normally kept short and blonde, is currently just brushing her shoulders, and has been dyed pale, wintery, green, while, in stark contrast to her usual make-upless state, her lips are black, with tiny metallic flecks, while her eyes have a touch of shimmering green-and-gold under them, just enough to bring out their unusual dark purple without overpowering it.

Tirin, who, since his last appearance, has gotten an elaborate ring of angular script tattooed on his finger, normally covered by his wedding ring, and is currently wearing silver-black pants, and an ash-grey dress shirt, both of which contrast well with the gold fur, banded with odd black patterns, and cut short, so that it seems, unless one is touching him, to be normal skin, that covers most of his body, arrives on a rather nice hoverbike, presumably with Elena.

While he has learned how to drive, he's not had terribly much practice, so it may have been, while safe, an... interesting... experience for her.

As soon as they park, Elena steps off and strips off the jeans, a green, silky dress coming out and sliding down perfectly. She took off the jacket, revealing that underneath is still the same dress. She puts both items on the bike.
She then takes off her helmet and removes the pin holding her hair together, letting her hair cascade down.
"You ready, hun?" she asked, looking up at Tirin with a smile.

Tirin nods, likely having done something similar at the same time, and gently slips an arm around her, tail reaching up to rub behind her ears.

"Tsiln and I will be giving Aseti," she says, assuming that she's successful in bringing the daemon out of her seat.

Greg nods towards both Dave and Karyana, indicting that he heard them and that all is good.
"As Aseti and Megan take their vows today, we are privileged to witness the joyous love of a new family -- a family that will be nourished and nurtured through the devotion of two separate individuals growing together through the common bonds of love.

Megan will grab Aseti's hand and hold it with her own.
"Come on."
She'll lead Aseti over to the big ol' wedding cake. Four levels of delicious red velvet cake with white buttercream frosting. Small pink flowers made of icing decorated each level, the person who put them on was quite good at his craft. They looked quite real.
On the top of the cake were entirely edible mini versions of Aseti and Megan.
Megan picked up the tool to cut the cake and looked at Aseti.
"You want to cut the cake?"

She smiles a bit, hugging them both as well.

Tiri frowns a bit, going to disengage from Aephiti.
