[PF] Wrathful Mantle (Spell Resistance?)

Wrathful Mantle allows for spell resistance, but it says (harmless). This makes me think that the spell resistance applies to the target of the spell, not to the force damage that the recipient of the spell may do as a result of the spell after the casting. My DM disagrees. Thoughts?

SR applies to the damage, since the force effect is pure magic smacking the creature in the face, like a Magic Missile.
