"I'm doing great Jim, and what a show we have for you tonight. Our Dungeon Jockey 'DJ In-Q-Bu5' has put together a great Gauntlet run for us tonight"

"I should hope so, Bob. With his "win" record, I doubt he'll be in the business for much longer. He'll probably get the Axe from his sponsors. LITERALLY!"

"Crying shame, but you can't doubt his failures when we've got some fantastic competitors coming in from all over the world. Today we've got a wood elf of all things."

"He's not you're grandma's cookie bakers. These elves have a reputation for fighting dirty and letting the blood fly. Let's go down to the field and see how he does"

The Map:

Start in any square in the red dot. You win when you reach the blue dot.
Doors are locked until the encounter in the room is defeated. Either unconscious or dead. They take a move action to open and slide into the wall, unable to be used as cover.
Walls are reinforced stone, Doors are reinforced wood.
The Ceilings in rooms are 30ft high, in the corridors they are 10 feet high.

Zaavariel shifts his weight nimbly from leg to leg with his Greatsword in hand, noticing the bloodstains that already stain the doorway.

"So it begins...."

Start in C2! Move to C4 and open door(I have a 50' Move) with Readied Attack. If I can't open and attack, I will simply move and ready my action(attack), opening the door with a readied action round 2.

You open the door and find a creature that looks like a primitive human with grey skin and coarse hair. His posture is stooped, his forehead is low, and his pig-like face has a jutting lower jaw and lower canines that resemble tusks. He weilds a rusty Falchion, letting out a mighty bellow

Did I open it round one or two? If two, then I will wait and attack before his charge with the attack. If I openedit round one and he did nothing I would be charging right now. I am confused if I opened the door before initiative was rolled?

If I have a full action I will have charge. Roll was made without the charge modifier.

If not, readied action as described.

The enemy charges you, your readied action goes off, the enemy dies. Your new initiative is 20.
Ooh! that was a rough hit! Never mess with a greatsword!
"They say Orc Blood makes great warpaint. Now the floor looks like it's ready for battle!


For future reference, roll your readied attacks after I tell you that it goes off. You are on round 3.

Note: I will be taking a short break. I will be back in an hour.

Round 3

Gingerly stepping around the body, Zaavariel moves across the room to C11. readies attack action.

"It is not wise to be unprepared..."

If the door doesn't open on round three, Zaavariel will open it on Round 4 with a readied attack action.

Beyond this door at c15 is a wretched looking thing. Looks like an emancipated human with rotting flesh, Razor sharp teeth and fingernails as sharp as claws. It looks hungry.

Behind the door is a seething monster. It's a squat muscular creature covered in thick fur. Its stout legs, clawed feet, and it's pointed snout has a wide foaming mouth full of razor sharp teeth.

The DJ's voice comes over the loudspeakers, his face on a screen above the exit to this room.
"You may have bested my other monsters, but your little tricks won't save you from DJ...

Your first two attack deflect off of the beasts hide, but the third one connects but it only seems to make it angrier, sending it into a frothing fury of fur and fangs. It lets out a vicious hiss as it claws and bites at you.
