"Hello Sport's Fans! This is Jim, and I'm here with my co-host, former competitor Bob Bifford! How are you doing Bob?"

"I'm doing great Jim, and what a show we have for you tonight. Our Dungeon Jockey 'DJ In-Q-Bu5' has put together a great Gauntlet run for us tonight"

"I should hope so, Bob. With his "win" record, I doubt he'll be in the business for much longer. He'll probably get the Axe from his sponsors. LITERALLY!"

"Crying shame, but you can't doubt his failures when we've got some fantastic competitors coming in from all over the world. And Check out this one. He's got a dog with him! awww...what a widdle cute puppy. What are the odds that it gets butchered by the time this stage is over?"

"10:1 in the first room, and 2:1 by the last. Placing any bets, yourself?"

"Nah, I've learned never to bet against anyone with a link to the divine. I've been struck by lightning enough times to know better."

"Bob, you are quite the character. Now Let's get down the the Gauntlet and see what's cooking!"

The Map:
http://i48.tinypic.com/34nfvxz.png
Start in any square in the red dot. You win when you reach the blue dot.
Doors are locked until the encounter in the room is defeated. Either unconscious or dead. They take a move action to open and slide into the wall, unable to be used as cover.
Teleporting past a door or wall is an automatic forfeit.
Walls are reinforced stone, Doors are reinforced wood.
The Ceilings in rooms are 30ft high, in the corridors they are 10 feet high.
Yo yo yo! This is yo DJ IN-Q-BU5! I Hope you're ready ta DIE, son! You ain't gettin' outta THIS sh<bleep> alive!

"What's going on?"
"Looks like he's just standing there, and the clock is running"
"Hey! Rick Flair! The fight's not gonna come to you!"

OOC: you've gotta open the door.

Leewei

Advance to D3, Piddles advances to C4.

Open the door.

If an enemy charges, AoO with longspear: [roll0] for [roll1] damage. This works even if flat-footed due to Combat Reflexes.

Beelzebub1111
2012-09-06, 06:05 PM
You open the door and find a creature (D,8) that looks like a primitive human with grey skin and coarse hair. His posture is stooped, his forehead is low, and his pig-like face has a jutting lower jaw and lower canines that resemble tusks. He wields a a rusted falchion, letting out a mighty bellow

[roll0]

Beelzebub1111

The warrior hefts his curved sword and charges you yelling what are presumably slurs in an unknown language.

He deftly dodges your opritunitous attack.

Piddles grabs him by the ankle pulling the pig faced opponent down to the ground where he smacks his head on the stone floor with a crack. His head is dented and blood pours out of his orifices.
And the Mutt brings him down in a bloody mess.
"Clean up on aisle 1!"

You are still on turn 4. and in d2.

"Attaboy! Good death machine!"

Cast lesser vigor (using share spell to hit Piddles as well), advance to D10, get Piddles in C11, wait until healed to 7/8, then open the door.

Your initiative stays the same as when you first rolled, and please post your round number. It makes scoring you at the end easier for me. By my count you are on round 10

Beyond this door at c15 is a wretched looking thing. Looks like an emancipated human with rotting flesh, Razor sharp teeth and fingernails as sharp as claws. It looks hungry.

Round 10
Twinkles
Heal to 8/8
If permitted, Readied attack: [roll0] for [roll1] damage.
Ready a Longspear attack once Piddles has acted: [roll2] (with flank; +2 more if prone target) for [roll3] damage.

Free Action: Command Piddles to flank and attack.
Handle Animal: [roll4]

Piddles
Heal to 7/13
Fort save: [roll5]
Attack: [roll6] for [roll7] damage.
Trip: [roll8]

Round 1: Open door
Round 2: Cast cure minor wounds.
Round 3: Cast lesser vigor.
4-8: regen HPs, approach door.
Round 9: Regen 1 HP, open door.

Yep, round 10. Since we're not dropping out of rounds, I'd request that Twinkles readies an action to set his spear against a charge. I'd assumed this would not be possible due to dropping out of rounds, which I now know isn't the case.

Edit: cold, cold dice today. Bleah.

Beelzebub1111

Piddles is paralyzed for [roll0] rounds and cannot attack.

Your attacks miss the ravenous fiend and he ignores you to tear your dog's throat out. (provokes attack of opportunity)

Round 11

"Now that's worrisome. A ghoul, eh?"

AoO: [roll0] for [roll1]
Attack: [roll2] for [roll3]

Death save: [roll4]

Since both the attack and AoO are resolved before the action that triggered the AoO, would the animal companion still take the 5 CdG damage if the attacks kill the enemy?

Stats:
Twinkles
Hp: 8/8
AC: 15, FF 14, Touch 11 (armor+4, dex+1)
Effects: lesser vigor (3 rounds remaining)

Spells prepared:
cure minor wounds x2, lesser vigor, shilelagh, light (racial SLA)

Piddles
Hp: 9/13
AC: 20, FF 18, Touch 12 (armor+4, dex+2, natural+4)
Effects: lesser vigor (3 rounds remaining)

Assuming the critter dies:
Piddles will take 3 more rounds to recover. During this time, Twinkles will drag the dog to the next door. He'll cast another lesser vigor when the first expires (round 13), then cast shillelagh (round 14), then ready an action to set vs charge and open the next door (round 15).

Leewei

3 day bump -- ready for the next room, assuming that critter was a standard ghoul.

Beelzebub1111
2012-09-12, 08:53 PM
The Attack of Oppritunity did not kill him, so the CDG damage still goes off (though it made its save)

A four foot tall flame is in the center of this room (c22) it twirls around taking a vaguely humanoid shape, presumably looking at you.

[roll0]

What's yours and your dog's position on the map?

Round 19

I was under the impression full round actions were resolved on the start of the next turn. Looks like I was wrong -- that's apparently only the case with full round spellcasting.

Since Piddles is down 5 more HPs than anticipated, there's a change in plans. Delay casting shillelagh for four rounds, then open the door (details below).

Twinkles is at C18, Piddles at D18.

Stats:
Twinkles
Hp: 8/8
AC: 15, FF 14, Touch 11 (armor+4, dex+1)
Effects: lesser vigor (5 rounds remaining), shillelagh (8 rounds)

Spells prepared:
cure minor wounds x2, light (racial SLA)

Piddles
Hp: 13/13
AC: 20, FF 18, Touch 12 (armor+4, dex+2, natural+4)
Effects: lesser vigor (5 rounds remaining)

Updated plan details:Piddles will take 3 more rounds to recover. During this time, Twinkles will drag the dog to the next door. He'll cast another lesser vigor when the first expires (round 13), then wait four rounds and cast shillelagh (round 18), then ready an action to set vs charge and open the next door (round 19).

Set vs charge: [roll0] for [roll1]
AoO: [roll2] for [roll3]

Piddles
Won't normally attack unnatural creatures on command, but since it attacked him first ...
Standard Action: Attack [roll4] for [roll5]; Trip [roll6]

Round 20
Twinkles
Free Action: Drop longspear. (Edit: More like throw it down in disgust.)
Move Action: Ready club with shillelagh, two-handed.
Standard Action: Attack [roll7] for [roll8]

Stats:Twinkles
Hp: 8/8
AC: 15, FF 14, Touch 11 (armor+4, dex+1)
Effects: lesser vigor (4 rounds remaining), shillelagh (7 rounds remaining)

Spells prepared:
cure minor wounds x2, light (racial SLA)

Piddles

Round 20

"I'm being attacked by fire, but I'm hitting air."

Piddles

Attack: [roll0] for [roll1]; Trip [roll2]

Round 21

Twinkles
(Assuming opponent is still alive.)
Attack: [roll3] for [roll4]

Stats:Twinkles
Hp: 8/8
AC: 15, FF 14, Touch 11 (armor+4, dex+1)
Effects: lesser vigor (3 rounds remaining), shillelagh (6 rounds remaining)

Spells prepared:
cure minor wounds x2, light (racial SLA)

Piddles
Hp: 13/13
AC: 20, FF 18, Touch 12 (armor+4, dex+2, natural+4)
Effects: lesser vigor (3 rounds remaining)

Edit: Guessing this is a small fire elemental. If so, Piddles uses a move action to put out the fire if he fails a reflex save, making the save result moot.

Beelzebub1111
2012-09-13, 10:06 AM
Piddles takes [roll0] from biting fire. and wether he succeeds in the trip or not, your attack reduces the creature to a scuff mark on the floor

"That's not funny"
"Oh stuff it up yer.."

Behind the door is a seething monster. It's a squat mucular creature covered in thick fur. Its stout legs, clawed feet, and it's pointed nout has a wide foaming mouth full of razor sharp teeth.
