As a standard action, the alchemist can infuse a single arrow, crossbow bolt, or one-handed firearm bullet with the power of his bomb, load the ammunition, and shoot the ranged weapon. He must be proficient with the weapon in order to accomplish this. When the infused ammunition hits its target, it deals damage normally and detonates as if the alchemist had thrown the bomb at the target. If the explosive missile misses, it does not detonate.

Seems simple enough, but wait!

When a scatter weapon attacks all creatures within a cone, it makes a separate attack roll against each creature within the cone

Every creature (max 7, practically a lot fewer) hit within the cone has its own, full power explosion centered around it.

And the Dragon Pistol satisfies the "one-handed firearm" issue

And if the GM rules a group of pellets isn't a "single", an alchemical cartridge explicitly is!

Now the problem is in optimizing this beyond novelty. Alchemtical Cartridge increases the Dragon Pistol's misfire range to 1-3 (ow), and you only get one shot per round (Unless the GM is generous with fast bombs). Any ideas?

Since it works best against crowds of puds, which you should plough through anyway, I honestly don't see too much issue assuming this works.

I'd wager that "bullet" would be the problem there. Bullets and pellets are both defined in pathfinder and the pellets are never bullets.
