Can a caster target herself with a ranged touch attack? If so, is hitting automatic and is there a saving throw? This is waaaay to fringe for my searching to find.

By RAW, the Wizard would need to make an attack roll against her own AC. Characters may, however, willingly fail saving throws if they choose to.

Any DM who isn't a tool should let a Wizard hit herself with a ray without rolling to hit.

Oh right, voluntary fails. Thanks!

Consider, for that matter, the precedent of death urge (psi/wld 4), which forces the target, if armed, to spend a full-round action on a single attack, which auto-succeeds, and auto-crits. (It doesn't force a Fort save, as a regular coup-de-grace would, but is otherwise basically the same.)
