Hi
A GM approached me to play in his Kingmaker [PF] campaign and I'm having a tough time deciding on what to play. I've read the player's guide to the campaign so I have the general idea of what I should be playing etc. However I have some things that I would like to play for fun, both in and out of combat, but I could use some assistance in optimization for the campaign and general ideas in what is good for the campaign (preferably without spoilers.)
Ideas are as follows:
Some sort of Aldori sword specialist with some mixture of nature or spell casting ability e.g. ranger/Aldori swordlord or alchemist/duelist or magus/duelist/1 level of Aldori swordlord for dex to damage.
Mixing Possibility of Aldori swordlord and cavalier.
A monk/arcane caster build (read about the empyreal sorceror using wisdom instead of char), I have always liked the thought of a monk that casts spells.
Essentially I want to survive and fit in with the campaign, have the possibility of creating an interesting narrative and still have a modicum of self reliance.
I have read most of the optimization guides presented on this site (although I seem to be unable to access the magus one by walter.)
