In a Pathfinder game I'm playing, I've got a level 4 sylph fencer gish (homebrew class with air/electric theme) that just reached level 5. And I've got absolutely no idea what feat to take next.
Sylph
Stats:
Str 13, Dex 20, Con 12, Int 12, Wis 12, Cha 9
Racial Traits:
Storm in the blood (fast healing when hit with electric), Whispering wind (+4 stealth), Like the wind (+5 movement)
Feats:
Weapon Finesse
Dervish Dance
Airy Step: Bonus vs air/electric attacks. Ignore some falling damage
I will take wings of air at level 9, and elemental jaunt at level 15.

So I'm completely stumped on my next 2 feats. I found Fleet, Acrobatic Steps, and Nimble Moves. Moving faster, particularly through bad terrain is neat, but I'm not sure I want that to be my characters focus or not.

It's a medium optimization game on average. And while I'm intentionally trying to not break my character while playtesting the class, at teh same time, I don't want to gimp him.

You seem to have a decent number of wind/air focused abilities, which makes sense for a sylph. My thought would be the feat chain of Dodge (+1 dodge bonus AC) leading to Wind Stance (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/wind-stance-combat---final) If you move more than 5 feet it gives you 20% concealment vs. ranged attacks. Potentially following out to Lightning Stance (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/lightning-stance-combat---final) giving you 50% concealment when moving significantly or withdrawing.

Possibly more practical is Step Up (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/step-up-combat---final) allowing you to follow retreating enemies. Following Step (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/following-step-combat) to allow you to follow your enemy more effectively and finally Step Up and Strike (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/step-up-and-strike-combat) to be able to follow them and stab them at the same time.

Yeah, a lot of air theme in there. A dedication to that, is part of why the DM was willing to allow the homebrew playtest. Class is "The Mancer" in my sig, if you wanna see it. There's also Fire, Water, and Earth themed versions of the class (Earth starts to get OP I think, if someone tries to max out strength, particularly through templates or races like the half-minotaur).

Anyway:
Yeah, my first thought was wind/lightning stance as well. But I'm extremely unimpressed with those two. 20% vs ranged. 50% if I double move or run away.
Step up and the following versions are much nicer choices though, thank you, I tend to forget about those when not trying a lockdown build. Think I might need to multiclass to fighter now...

Crane Wing (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/crane-wing-combat) is an excellent fencer type feat for anyone using a single handed weapon only. Of course, it requires Crane Style (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/crane-style-combat-style) which in turn requires Dodge and IUS... Later on, you can also pick up Crane Riposte (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/crane-riposte-combat).

If your charisma weren't so poor, Osyluth Guile (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/osyluth-guile-combat) would also be a good fencer feat.

"Mancer" is such a weird name for a class. I mean, it's not even a word, it's a suffix. Why not use elementalist instead?

I'd swear we've had this conversation before...
1-- Because it's the pyromancer, terramancer, aeromancer, aquamancer...
2-- I think 'elementalist' was already taken by something in 3.5.
3-- Elementalist WAS taken by another homebrew class that was thought up along with the mancer.

uh, not really, no. I don't think I ever interacted with you.

Yeah, that's what a suffix is.

I understand why you didn't use elementalist, but mancer still sounds like a bad name.

"Mancer" reminds me of MANswers (http://www.spike.com/shows/manswers) (Warning: Loss of Brain Cells Likely).

No sir, I will not click on that link. There's much better links to click... (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife)
