So, still going over dread necros and I've been wondering about their damage reduction. Does it have to be both bludgeoning AND magic to bypass DR? Is it bludgeoning OR magic? I'm inclined to interpret it as the latter, but I've seen various places online that interpret it as requiring both to bypass it. Is there someone here that can clarify for me?

DR X/bludgeoning and magic means that a weapon needs to be both of those things to bypass it.

Notice the lich template has DR 15/bludgeoning and magic as well. Combine this with the DR entry in the glossary:
A few creatures are harmed by more than one kind of weapon. A weapon of either type overcomes this damage reduction.

A few other creatures require combinations of different types of attacks to overcome their damage reduction. A weapon must be both types to overcome this damage reduction. A weapon that is only one type is still subject to damage reduction.

Finally, contrast the babau (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/demon.htm#babau) entry, which has "DR 10/cold iron or good" (emphasis added). Putting this all together, the babau is an example of a monster that requires either cold iron or good to defeat its DR; liches, and by extension DNs, require both bludgeoning and magic to defeat DR.

Hmm, I see. Thank you for the clarification.
