Ok we're starting a new game and I am pretty sure I want to play a halfling. Most everyone ignores them due to the fact that small weapons are terrible to wield. I am loving the stat mods plus the bonus to perception.

So what i'm thinking is that I want to do something interesting. So far I have a cleric3/rogue2.

I want an interesting build. I have only PF to work with and a 20 pt buy.

How viable would a palading2/sorc3 be? I know that's very ddo and not something that is ever really done...but why not? I just want something very different. For a bit I was contemplating a druid/summoner just for the Pokemon feel.

So with all this in mind...please fire away

Paladin/Sorcerer is a very common gish build. Consider Eldritch Knight if you continue with it.

Druid/Summoner is pretty bad for four main reasons: Its MAD (multiple attribute dependent), as you need Wis and Cha, not too mention physical stats if you want to wildshape and maul things; it delays both your Druid casting and your Summoner casting; it delays and weakens your Wild Shape progression (and animal comanion progression); finally, it weakens your Eidolon - your core class feature as a summoner. At level 2 a, a Druid 1/Summoner 1 is actually borderline broken because of its action economy from having an animal companion AND an Eidolon. Even to level 5 a Druid 1/Summoner 4 with the Boon Companion feat is pretty incredible. After that... your Druid side becomes weaker and weaker until you wish you just had another level of Summoner.

If "something interesting" to you means multiclassing, PF may not be the system for you. PF is built on making sure that 1-20 of one class is a reliable and fun build, unlike 3.5, which is heavily involved in multiclassing and prestige classing.

I'd recommend looking over the Halfling-specific archetypes (and prestige class) listed here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/core-races/halfling).

Ok kool. I know pf isnt made to multi clasd but i cant play an optimized character in my group. The last time idid they almost kicked me from the group for being to good and not needing anyone....hence why im reduces to halfling non mage non fighter. I just want a kool idea even if it isnt optimal

I just finished Carrion Crown with a halfling paladin, it worked pretty well. I was an archer paladin with a Zen Archer Monk dip, so I had practically +infinity to all of my saves.

The great saves of a paladin also synergize extremely well with the Lucky Halfling feat - which is sure to make your party members love you, and save your party some serious resurrection expenses once death magic starts flying around (since you can basically make an ally auto-succeed on a save).

Generally, small weapon size is not really a huge deal - your actual weapon dice become increasingly negligible the higher level you get, especially if you play a class with a scaling static damage boost like a Ranger's favored enemy or a Paladin's smite evil.

Well, if you purposefully want to be less than optimized, then there's more on the table :D

Hrm...how about something like Paladin 3/Ninja 2? Nice Charisma synergy, plus you can spend Ki to get extra attacks. You might consider Halfling Opportunist (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/other-paizo/e-h/halfling-opportunist), too. Optimizing Dex and Charisma will already put you a little behind in damage potential.

Something like this:

Paladin 1 - Weapon finesse
Paladin 2
Ninja 1 - Two-Weapon Fighting
Paladin 3
Ninja 2 - Defensive Combat training

Edit: If you don't want to go for Halfling Opportunist, drop defensive combat and maybe pick up something like Lucky Halfling (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/lucky-halfling) to help your teammates (with a high Charisma and at least two levels in Paladin, you should have some of the best saves in the group).

Edit 2: Ninja Halflings. Ninja Halflings everywhere.

GRAY GARDENER! (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/other-paizo/e-h/gray-gardener)

It's either a Cleric/Rogue PrC, or an Inquisitor PrC (depends how you look at it).
It only has 3/4 Bab and 7/10 Casting, so few worries about the 'overpowered' part.

Halfling Opportunist is also a solid investment for most non-casting focused Halflings.

For the Paladin/Sorc idea, you could go Dragon Disciple, also only 3/4 Bab and 7/10 casting, although the Bab loss is offset by the STR bonuses.
Also makes for a somewhat better entry into Eldritch Knight if you decide to go that route:
Paladin 2/Sorc 3/Dragon Disciple 4/Eldritch Knight X+
vs. Paladin 2/Sorcerer 6/Eldritch Knight X+

Or, you could go Underfoot Adept (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/core-races/halfling/underfoot-adept-monk-halfling) Monk and be sure you'll never overshadow the party, while also being quite good at Tripping things.

Depending on how much wealth you're starting with and allowed item costs get an Agile (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons#TOC-Agile) Amulet of Mighty Fists, take Weapon Finesse and Agile Maneuvers and dump Str completely. For added fun take Combat Reflexes as your monk bonus feat and Vicious Stomp as your remaining general feat.

Lots of attacks, and you're very good at making things prone.

Can you explain a little more how i use my saves to stack up my parties saves? That sound's. Pretty kool and with the channel energy i might never have to heal and can do my summon groove
