Where can I find the old D&D 3.5 monster creation contests?

The contest died back in March sadly.

Did it die because it was no longer allowed, or because there was no one to host it?

Not the former and not the latter.

You'd probably have to ask Mullet, but my guess is that he just got too busy to continue running it and no one was really entering it anymore like they used to.

I asked because I was thinking of hosting my own Pathfinder series of monster contests that would follow the same format.

Well, 3.5 and Pathfinder are two different kettles of fish. The 3.5 Base class contest actually disallowed the entry of Pathfinder material not too long ago, both because they are two different game systems and somewhat as a professional courtesy to my contest.

And I hate to sell myself, but the Pathfinder Grab Bag Competition does host monsters as valid entry types if you were looking for a place to enter Pathfinder Monsters.

If you don't want me stealing traffic from your contest, I could make it 3.5 instead.

It's partially traffic from my thread and it's partially that Pathfinder homebrew is still a growing thing on this subforum. I'm lucky to get 3 entries a month when I allow Base classes, Prestige Classes, Monsters and Races to be entered, so I don't know how many entries a much more narrow scoped PF contest would garner.

In the case of a 3.5 Monster contest, I'd just suggest shooting Mullet a message asking if he plans to continue doing the contest. If not, you're probably good to go.

Could I please have a link to his profile? I think the search was disabled.

Looks like he hasn't been on since near the end of August though. Hope he's doing well, he mentioned health problems not too long ago.

In that case, I might just go ahead and start the contests. No disrespect to him.

The contests were a lot of fun and I miss them. I'd be glad to help as I did with the previous contests as long as it is 3.5 because I'm not yet proficient with Pathfinder.

The first one is up. It should be on the front page of the Homebrew section.
