Ok, so I am thoroughly knowledgable on how Gestalt works. I have recently looked over how to make a True Dragon PC in the Draconomicon and thought "This is not worth it, unless I Gestalt it" However, I'm a bit confused on how the two would interact.

Lets say for the sake of argument, the entire party is starting out as freshly hatched Wyrmling White Dragons. By Draconomicon, one side of the Gestalt is 3 Dragon HD and 2 LA. Not really caring whats ont he other side of the Gestalt, lets say the party adventures and gains 3 levels before their second year (when they would gain another Dragon Level). Would the Dragon side get 2 class levels and 1 Dragon Level or would it get 3 class levels and the next level must go to Dragon Level? I feel like the answer is right in front of me but I'm just not sure.

I believe the way it works is like this (assuming a level 5 start):

LA 1 - Class 1
LA 2 - Class 2
Dragon HD 1 - Class 3
Dragon HD 2 - Class 4
Dragon HD 3 - Class 5

Though confirmation would be nice.

I'd probably do it this way. (Example classes for fun)

LA +1 - Dragon HD 1
LA +2 - Dragon HD 2
Transmuter 1 - Dragon HD 3

...When you start

In your example, gaining 3 levels in two years.

LA +1 - Dragon HD 1
LA +2 - Dragon HD 2
Transmuter 1 - Dragon HD 3
Transmuter 2 - Barbarian 1
Transmuter 3 - Barbarian 2
Master Specialist 1 - Barbarian 3

On your second birthday, you blow out the candles and eat the now frozen birthday cake. You MUST take a Dragon HD on one side.

LA +1 - Dragon HD 1
LA +2 - Dragon HD 2
Transmuter 1 - Dragon HD 3
Transmuter 2 - Barbarian 1
Transmuter 3 - Barbarian 2
Master Specialist 1 - Barbarian 3
Master Specialist 2 - Dragon HD 4

If you have to increase your LA when getting older, then you have to put it on the one side.
