Making a transmutation-themed mini-boss. Any nice feats/prestige classes/templates/obscure spells/equipment you can suggest? Boss is going to be around CR14-16 with a powerful ally. I wouldn't mind recommendations for cool mooks to surround him with.

WARNING: RISE OF THE RUNELORDS SPOILER

The boss is a transmutation specialist who turned his body into silver, becoming mithral. However, he lost a good chunk of his sanity and his ability to learn and grow at the same time. One conversion is here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/unique-monsters/cr-14/ordikon-the-mithral-mage). I'd like him to be more of a threat offensively, and he needs some kind of miss chance and a slight boost to AC. I'm fine with completely redoing his stats as long as the fluff stays intact. Players are mid-opimization, able to crank out damage very easily, but not always so versatile: Rogue, Swift Hunter Ranger, Summoner, and DMPC Cleric who is highly unoptimized and is mostly there to cure nasty conditions.

He will be joined by a Very Old/Ancient White dragon who will join in the fight. Considering giving her some metabreath feats, but dragons give my players the willies as it is (I believe the only time they've really been defeated in the campaign was by a dragon), and I don't want to freak them out too much.

A couple metal-themed mooks would be nice to eat some actions (not really to be a serious threat. They're going to be fighting a statue later, so maybe some kind of metal ooze?

Anyway, I'm going back and forth between Egoist and Wizard; there's a nice shapeshifting-focused psionic prestige class in Psionics Expanded, but I want to see what my options are in Wizard, too. Warshaper feels like it might screw the party too badly, as the Rogue and Ranger rely on precision damage. Light/medium fortification would be fine, I just don't want to completely negate their core damage ability.

Ideas?

Have you considered Master Transmorphogist(CArc) it does loose some CL; but it focuses on transmuting one's body via Polymorph and getting abilities from one form (say a choker's extra turn) on another one (a dragon form for example). If you find Polymrph too powerful substituing with Displacer form or Trollshape is an option.

PF has the Annihilation Spectacles for 25000 gp.

Lets you spontaneously cast any trans spell you know in place of a prepared trans spell, as long as it's the same level or lower as the one to be replaced.

That sounds really powerful... me like it.
