Quick inquiry; just started a Pathfinder as a Bard (Archaeologist) and with no rogue exist as the general skill guy. As an Archaeologist I get a bonus to Disable Device, but apparently don't get it as a skill. Huh.
Well, with fiddling with traits and whatnot I notice quite a few of them let you add single skills to your skill list and just wondered if such a trait (or some other means) exist for Disable Device.

Oddly enough, the detective archetype does this as well. While it seems counter-intuitive to give a bonus to a skill rather than make it a class skill, since they repeated this in several bard builds, it does seem to be their intention.

Either way, take it cross-class. the penalty for doing so is negligible compared to what it once was (read: 3.5e), and the bonus should be enough to make up for the loss of a miscellaneous +3.

As it happens, turns out there are some traits that let you have Disable Device as a class skill: Vagabond child (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/regional-traits/vagabond-child) and Nimble Fingers, Keen Mind (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/religion-traits/nimble-fingers-keen-mind-brigh).

Search the d20 PF srd, search for the skill you want, then go to the top of the results and filter it by clicking "Traits", should be easy to find the skill you want.

Go with Nimble Fingers, the other one is 3rd party.

Vagabond Child is actually in the APG, so very much 1st party. The info on the srd may be about when it was first published, I don't know.
