Improved Familiar...choices choices choices

Ok quick proquo. I am creating a flesh warper and one of the special abilities you can attach to your familiar is increasing its size. A detriment to most familiars, but aha! there are also improved familiars. So I am trying to pick between a howler, a hell hound, or a winter wolf. Any ideas? I'm leaning towards howler, though winter wolf seems to be better for role play.

Howler has Outsider type. It might be wrong to suggest using alter self/polymorph at all, but they are much more fun when Outsider shapes are options.
