Question about Nymphs/Paladins

Would a Nymph Paladin of Slaughter 10/Blackguard 2 with charisma-boosting equipment (eg. a +6 cloak +4 from levels and +5 from wishes/manual for a total +12 modifier) be a good challenge for level 18 PCs? Are there better ways to use nymphs, and large charisma?

I really don't think so. I mean, you've got 18HD but 6 of those are racial fey HD, which are poor BAB, so a nymph blackguard is about 3 levels behind in melee combat. All you really have going for you is great saves, good AC and some casting. And the saves are actually overkill: +24 saves are already good enough to make just about every save that comes your way, there's no need to bump them even higher up to +36. I'd suggest taking that paladin ACF that swaps Cha to saves for Cha to AC.

As for better things to do with nymphs? Easy: Druid 12 and you've got a higher tier class and a bunch of synergy between your race and class. Casting as a druid 19 is no joke.

Basically anything Cha-based works alright too, thanks to non-associated class levels. E.g. Nymph Sorcerer 18 or Sorcerer 13/Archmage 5 is CR 22 (Nymph = CR 7, Sorc 6 = +3 CR, Sorc 7-18 = +12 CR) and definitely a tough customer; that'd be about the appropriate CR for a boss encounter on these levels.

Paladin of Slaughter/Blackguard is also non-associated for Nymphs so a Nymph Pally 10/Blackguard 2 is mere CR 16; don't expect that to challenge your whole party of level 18 PCs. She's not even a match for a single one of them.


If you want some kind of a warrior/mage, Dryad already has the necessary BAB so just simple Sorcerer 6/Abjurant Champion+Sacred Exorcist (use some evil adaptation) works at the cost of a single feat (Martial Weapon Proficiency) and even gets turning to fool around with, using stuff like Divine Might or Divine Shield. Favored Souls of course also work.
