[3.5] Wizards and Divine Oracle PrC?

I have a question about entering the Divine Oracle PrC as a Wizard. To my reading, the only benefit of gaining the Oracle Domain at 1st level is the +2 to caster level for Divinations; since the Wizard doesn't get Domain spells, having "access" to the Oracle domain doesn't do anything.

Or does this mean that a Wizard adds those spells to his spellbook at the appropriate level?

Gaining domains on non-Cleric characters is explained at the beginning of the prestige classes chapter of Complete Divine. You would be able to add the Oracle domain spells to your spellbook and cast them, but you can only cast each one 1/day unless it already appeared on your class spell list.
