I am running a 3.5 campaign where an npc has been captured by hostiles and is being held in Dimensional Shackles. One of my players had the bright idea to apport (Psychic`s Handbook from Green Ronin) a honeycomb filled with a gaseous form potion. The idea is to let the captive slip the Dimensional Shackles.

My question is: will this work? I really wanted to make them work for this... :-D

Thanks in advance for any input.

The Shackles are considered to be on his person. The potion would integrate the shackles into the gas with the rest of him, and they'd still be on when he re-formed.

It could get him out of captivity, but it's not getting him out of the shackles.

they are bound within the shackles sure, but they aren't exactly items they claim as gear. it would slip them out of them. if the shackles were bound to a solid surface the shackles would fall to the ground.
