So Gesalt level 10 , everything is open , Cheseey of the cheesy contest of pvp arena style fighting.

My initial thought was a worforge with one side going into the soul eater PRC, and the other side being some sort of pure caster.

New personal rule, no auto 10 levels of some caster. Throwing about spells all day could bland and turn into DBZ.

just found out cant have these books

Book of Vile Darkness
Dragon Magazine
Dungeon Magazine
Fiend Folio
Fiendish Codex I
Fiendish Codex II

Anyone know where can find a good evil character :P

Necropolitan Dragonwrought Kobold Sorcerer 6/Incantatrix 4//Advanced Undead 6/Unarmed Swordsage 2/Paladin of X 2.
Pick up ascetic mage and a monk's belt, You've got +15 to charisma and get to add it to all your saving throws and twice to your armor class. Use incantatrix to persist whatever buffs you feel are necessary and use save or loses in combat.

Not the nastiest possible build by any standard but it should serve your purposes, ask your dm if you can use the PF undead rule change to add charisma to your hitpoints.

I note that heroes of horror is still on the table. So tainted scholar is allowed. So infinite spell DCs are allowed.

In arena style combat he probably can't just declare that he spent the previous two weeks casting spells to up his taint score or whatever. Still, potentially a good addition in lieu of another useless incantatrix level.

The mechanics of D&D are such that Save or lose effects are significantly more powerful in most fights than pretty much anything else you could be doing. That's not to say you can't build something powerful which doesn't make use of them but they take more work and/or are less powerful.

That being said, you could try gestalting factotum with either duskblade or warblade. Just stock up on the font of inspiration feat and use cunning surge to make enough attacks to kill anything you can reach. Alternately you could make an ubercharger (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19872838/Little_Red_Raiding_Hood:_A_Tale_of_38;_Guide_to_th e_3.5_Dragoon) or some variety of CoDzilla. They just likely won't be as easy to build or, in some cases, as potent.

Add the ghost template with the malevolence ability and the Human Heritage feat. Possess your enemies, and since you're Humanoid (Human), rather than undead, nobody can turn you or affect you with undead-affecting abilities. Nor can they Charm Person or Dominate Person on you, since you're immune to mind-affecting effects. Once you possess someone, use their body to take everyone else down, abandoning them if they fall.

Make a Hulking Hurler and throw the moon at them.

Hmm, anyway a melee figher could project a anti magic field, without draning a bank account

The problem is unless you've got a good lockdown build anti-magic fields actually hurt melee fighters more than they do spellcasters. The anti-magic item is the only item you have, really and you have no options besides running up to your target and hitting them. The mage, on the other hand can just fly up out of the ant-magic range and lob spell resistance: no spells at you until you eventually die.

Unless you're dead-set on being evil, what about whipping up something with the Saint template, Vows of Nonviolence and Peace, and some Risen Martyr levels? You know, go for the most unexpected arena contestant ever who wins by breaking fists on his own jaw :smallamused:

Hmmm....Saint+Pixie + soulKnife+ soulbow
Dragon fire adept, binder, warlock or another such class for the SU ablities?

Nastiest?

So, most cruel, or most powerful?

That pixie suggestion is useless, by the way. Soulbows have to spend all their resources to be about as good as a fighter with a bow spending a third of his resources. And Fighters are t5 for a reason.

For a cage match, defenses are more important than offense. At level 10, though, it's hard to have all of them. Largely due to not having the spells you want/need.

Also, what kind of buff times are there? Can 'all day' buffs be assumed to always be on?

If so, i'd suggest a necropolitan red wizard incantatrix (so, CL a million persisted buffs) using Initiate of Mystra to be semi-immune to enemy AMFs, and walk around in his own AMF and be immune to it, while being buffed to the hilt mostly with immunities (all the energy immunities, ray deflection (although energy immunity + AMF mostly helps with that), high AC (low hundreds), several miss chances, preferably immortality serum (Favour of the Deity + Troll-Blooded/Polymorph: War Troll), mind blank, freedom of movement (or Heart of Water, whatevs), preferably full fortification (from heart of spells or armour) to avoid ability-damage sneak attacks from wraithstriking hidden rogues, and Lifesight/Mindsight to find foes) and then reserve the rest of your spells for various 'screw you, you're dead' combos, and enough buffing to make your melee weapon be able to kill stuff that makes itself immune to spells/energy.

If you're playing with full transparency, i.e. incantatrix can affect powers if you have the Magic mantle, StP Erudite opens up some tasty tricks.

the only problem with that is, your suggesting a pure caster

Well, obviously if you want to have any chance you do need at least one side to give you 5th level spells (unless you pull some more impressive tricks and surpass that for even higher level magic). Even if you're melee, you need spells to buff yourself, to move yourself and to remove enemy's buffs after all (it's completely possible to be invulnerable to damage by this point for instance; Twice-Betrayer's Delay Death+Beastland Ferocity is only a level 1 and a level 4 spell).

Wizard 5/Incantatrix 5//Factotum 8/Tainted Scholar 2 is a good baseline. It's not optimal by any stretch of imagination but it gives you about infinite spells to persist, infinite spells per day, enough standard actions to kill anything in one turn and some decent baseline ability (Int to everything, etc.). Least investment for 5th level spells is probably Ur-Priest; you can then dedicate the rest to kicking ass if that's the way you wanna go.

At this level of TO, its be a full caster on at least 1 side or auto loose, Melee can't get anywhere near the defenses casters can and have more varied offense as well. If you're dead set against acting like a caster you could always be something like Cloistered cleric/Crusader or swordsage gestalt and run off Persisted cleric buffs to shore up your weaknesses and use Maneuvers as your offense.

From the stuff you're saying it sounds like the people you're playing with are relatively low op anyway.

So just build something you like the sound of (soulbow, say) and follow what the guides say to do, and you should be alright.

Fiend of Possession would be fun on one side; animate your very own suit of living armor which tanks for you! Take control of opponents and add them to your own build until at the end of the tournament you are a living avalanche of a fiend!

More if you Metamorphosis'd into one of the various oozes that split permanently when damaged by slashing weapons.
