Sanctified creature worthless?

Okay so Book of exalted deeds, evil creature turns good, how in the world is that worth 2 LA when you lose a bunch of stuff -_-, did they make that bad, to make up for the saint template.

It's a very very very very amazingly superawesome fantastic template when you stick it onto the BBEG of your entire last adventure. Remember that level 15 completely evil Wizard who you spent several years in-game fighting against? Now he's a paragon of good working towards making the world a better place.

Its only bad when you apply it to a creature with a lot of supernatural or spell-like abilities.

(And note that the example sanctified creature is wrong. The dragon should not have its breath weapon - its a supernatural ability.)
