Pokemon: Successors of the Forgotten, Part 4, Gotta Have Balls (IC)

Iris pockets the ball. 'I'll make sure it's fine, don't you worry. I'll look up this friend of yours once this whole thing is over with. Until you guys get to Pewter, I'm stuck down here, on the south side of Sienna. Emma's mum will meet you at the northern exit.'

Iris writes down the details of where she had heard the fish man lived. Then, her and Emma go off for quick 2 minute talk before Emma hurries back, looking very happy.

'Come on, let's go! We're nearly there. Soon, we'll be in Pewter city.'

Someone want to give me a WIS or CHA check to help locate the guy?

Sylvia permitted a smile as she saw Emma in a brighten mood. 'Must be very good news.' She thought as she tapped gently tapped Amelia on her head to stir her from the rest. The fox looked up at her trainer before she hopped off her lap, shock her body and gave a cute yawn.

Sylvia then finishes off what remained of her drink before she stood up and gave Iris a bow."Thank you for everything." She waited for the others before heading out with with Amelia trotting closely behind.

Trying to ask around town directly for the guy gets you shrugged away, but as you wander around town, you keep hearing about rumors. Some people hate the guy, claiming he ripped them off. Others sing his praise, saying he sells rare fish pokemon for dirt cheap. And yet others talk about his not inconsiderable psychic powers, able to change natures for a fee.

Even then, the rumors are still wild and unreliable. Some claim he's Caitlin and Will's secret love child, or that he's the brother of Artemis from Saffron's Gym, or that he's the successor to the old Trick Master from Hoenn. The strangest rumor was that he was actually the old leader Sabrina in drag, using her powers as an Influential to look like a man.

Well, you now had a location and a rough description, so you could go look for him. The only way to find out the truth was to meet him yourself.

Sylvia was amazed at all the mixed rumors surrounding the strange fish salesman. She then began to wonder if he would try to rip them off if they tried buying anything from him or if his services with Arhi's attitude with be legit. And if he did rip them off, who would they go to assuming she would realized she was being ripped off? If rumors have any hint of truth in it, then this man is a powerful psychic indeed.

But then she wondered about the other rumors that sounded far to wild to be true. She suspected if Caitlin had a child then Emma might have known, see how Caitlin was close to her family.

She honestly didn't know much about the current saffron gym leader to draw any conclusion about the rumored relation to Artemis. As for the rumor about him really being Sabrina in drag almost made the ninja burst into laughter but she managed to resist, though if you actually looked at her you could see the struggle to not to laugh.

After listening to the rumors, whether if any of them held enough amount of truth to go on, she and the others headed towards the location of the address Iris had given them to see this strange creepy psychic fish salesman.

It takes a bit of walking, but you finally find it, a small, dark building with probably the only unilluminated sign in town, 'Zachariah's Fish & Shifts.'

The inside of the shop however seems to take up the space of both the adjoined buildings and then some. Black lights and LED lights line tanks of water, in them several small fish. A pale, green haired woman in a white dress (which you recognize as a Gardevoir) waves to you. Welcome, good to have young customers! Take a look around, find something you like. If you can't find something, I'm sure Zachariah could figure out something for you of interest. He keeps a couple of specialty types, as well as more normal mons. Several larger tanks have a couple of bigger fish species.

"Whoa..." Russ looks around, but not recognizing any of the Water Pokemon... but that's what the Pokedex is for, right? What's around, I wonder~

Sorry, those don't work in here. He keeps me out just for that. Strong Psychic type with Zapper capabilities Muks with the dex enough to disable them. I don't get why, but he's paranoid about something I guess.

(You'd all level from the variety of stuff in here. It's pretty safe to say if it isn't a legie and is Water or aquatic, you can find it.)

"Oh..." Russ looks for the Poliwag in the tanks. Maybe they have some of those for sale! But he'll have to work to earn the money to get it...

Sylvia takes note of the Gardevoir before she takes a quick look around at the tanks. "I was told that could get a nature shift here?" she asked.

[Esprit15]

Russ
You eventually find a large terrarium with several young tadpole species waddling around it. Some resemble what you think a Poliwag would look like, in various forms of physical condition.

Sylvia
Sure. What do you need it shifted to, what from, and what species? As she responds, you can hear footsteps upstairs move around. Wasn't the building only one story?

[KujiUn]

"Whoa." Russ continues staring at the tank for a few moments, before snapping to attention. "Hey, hey!" he calls out to the Gardevoir, already forgetting her name. "How much for these Pokemon, right here?"

[Dragonsage]

"She's an Eevee," Sylvia started but then paused due to the sound of foot steps from above. Was this a one story building? Must be bigger on the inside. "She's currently very brave but I would like her to be a bit more modest. But before we go on, I want to know if there's any risks I should know about the procedure?" She asked, concerned if the process could be painful for the eevee.

I'm not su-

"3000, my good man!" From some stairs in the back an energetic voice calls out. A black and grey haired man with a necklace of very sharp teeth steps out.
Perception and INT check from Liam
"Era, you really were not being so rude as to not show these children around, we're you? Shame, I had hoped I had trained you better!" The man makes a clicking noise with his mouth while shaking his head. He moves quickly to Sylvia, almost tripping over the ninja in his enthusiasm. Seems customers weren't very common for him. "It's absolutely harmless! Era here can speak to that personally! When I was just starting out it wouldn't always take like I expected, but a bit of practice I perfected it!" His voice rings in your head as well as in the room. The lights over the tanks near him all brighten.

Autumn is looking through the water type mon when the man comes down and startles her with the echoed mental and physical voice, "ooookay..." she says, looking a little unsettled by the mans enthusiasm, "um, do you happen to have feebas?" she asks, a little apprehensive about how he'll respond.

"Three thousand, three thousand..." Russ muttered repeatedly, as if trying to memorize it. "Gotta make three thousand before we leave Sienna... where's a good place to make money, hm."

[Dragonsage]

After the surprise of the man almost tripping over her, Sylvia takes a moment to adjust to hearing the same voice both in and outside of her head. Like a weird echo. She then takes out Arhi's ball from her waist and holds it as she glaces over to the Gardevoir and concludes that it seems pretty well. "Just one last question, what exactly will change about her? How much of the Arhi I've known until know will remain?" Her eyes drifted to Arhi's ball as she asked her question and fixed back to the man when she waited for her answer.

Autumn
"Alas, I'm down to my last, and I use her for breeding stock, so I can't well part with her... Ah! But, by your mind I can tell you are a grass trainer. Lovely type, absolutely beautiful, some members of it. I tell you what, I have a specially bred Mantyke that I had bred for Misty's boy. Wouldn't you know the luck of it, the egg hatched twins, so I got a spare! Flying typing made a beautiful counter to grass types for her and would nicely surprise for any bug types that bother you! And here was the real kicker!"" He pulls out a ball and out comes a Mantyke. "Era, show them what was so special about it!" The Gardevoir nods, and points at the Mantyke, a large bolt of electricity striking the mon and making several of the other fish recoil even in their tanks. "Totally immune to electricity! That would show anyone who would be hoping for a huge advantage over one of your gym leaders! None of the conventional water weaknesses! And when they grow up, they are strong enough to fly their trainer around! It's a very good deal! Haven't been able to find much business though and he's nearly outgrown his tank. I made my profit already from the first, so I can sell him cheap. 4000?" His words seem very convincing of the deal. A counter to bugs would be nice, and a mount later? How could you pass that up? And don't worry, if money is a problem, a few supplies of of equal value could always supplement a payment. Can't always carry too much on you in this town, after all. He gives a smile to Autumn.

Russ
In Sienna? Oh, the casinos, games of chance on the street if you're careful.

Sylvia
"I'll let Era explain that, if it would make you feel even better."

I still remember everything perfectly clearly. It's no different than when you grow up and mature a little. Your personality may change, but you're still who you are. It's unusual for the trainer at first, but for the mon there's no noticeable change. It's like your outlook on the world changes. It's rather interesting.

Russ opens up his wallet to reveal the dismissal amount of seventeen Poke. It's even so low that I decided to use words instead of numerals. "...a person can make three thousand from this much in the casinos... huh. Better get lucky, then."

Seeing the mantyke, Autumn thinks for a moment, then grins and pets the little guy, "I have 4000," she says, "and Duchess needs some company," she continues, "if he wouldn't mind joining me, I'd definitely be interested."

Russ
You may also be able to win a bit of money in a fight. Zachariah tried that for a while... They don't let Psychics in those anymore, especially those with his specialties... But you might be able to win one with a bit of luck. Or there's the usual Pokémon battles.

Autumn
The Mantyke has rougher skin than normal, but seems to like the petting. "Excellent, then we have a deal!" He tosses you the ball for the Pokémon and you notice your money pulled from your pocket, floating in front of you briefly. "No more than I asked of you, don't worry."

I'll get you natures and such once you guys leave.

Satisfied by the Era's answer, Sylvia handed over Arhi's ball over to the man she assumed was Zachariah. A feeling of nervousness washed over her when he ball left her hand. "Okay, let's do it. What's the fee by the way?"

"Awesome!" Russ was totally pumped up from the idea of fighting for money. "Hey, guys, let's go to the fighting rings after this!"

[Esprit15]

"Only 3000. Sorry it's so spendy for something that's fairly easy for me, but the aquarium business is expensive. Shifts are how I keep prices low. Gets me quite a few happy customers when I can sell them an Alomolla shipped from home for barely more than I brought it in for. Always nice to be able to have a hobby and make money doing it." His eyes seem to flash at the word hobby. He picks up the ball, lets out the Eevee and sits at a chair behind the counter, the Eevee hopping onto the counter and looking at the Psychic. The Psychic and the Eevee's pupils both widen and the lights dim down. Both move as though having a silent conversation for several minutes, during which Era helps anyone else. This takes about ten minutes. If you need anything, let me know. The Gardevoir steps over to a tank with some jellyfish Pokémon, some that are unfamiliar to you, and puts some flakes in the water.

With no money and nothing to trade Liam spends his time looking around the aquarium at the different fish there. Although something did seem abit strange.

15 on perception and int checks

Liam
Hm... Something was familiar about the guy. Not him specifically, but his accent, his features, it was as though he had seen them before on someone else before. Actually, take away the ring of teeth around his neck and he looked a lot like that gym leader that smacked you around in Saffron.

The tanks appear to be organized by similarity of species. Some blue and red fish with yellow fins that glare at you are in the same tank as some long, green fish that nip at them every now and then. Era motions you over to the tank she was feeding. One of these species is actually a ghost type as well, direct from Zachariah's home region. She points to some similar looking pink and blue jelly fish that swim among the Tentacool in the tank. An absolute pain to take down, and access to a fair few good moves. A blue one swims close to the tank and waves at you.

"I see. Seems fair enough." Sylvia nodded, being able to afford the fee. She then stands by and waits patiently as she watches the man and the Eevee stare into each other's eyes, conversing silently. After a few moments of watching, she thought it best to leave the man to his work and she decided to look about the tanks while she was waiting. Perhaps to see if there was some aquatic pokemon she'd like to purchase.

"Huh, very nice" waving back at the ghost fish

Era looks over at the tadpoles after pointing out the fish. It appears Zachariah misspoke. Those only cost 1500 apiece, if that makes them at all more affordable.

Sylvia
As you look around, a tank of fish erupts into a fight, splashing water onto the floor around it. It was those green and multicolored fish from earlier. The fish don't seem to be trying to kill each other though, simply fighting over territory. Any that faint just get ignored in the fight. A particularly large green one with red eyes and a dark red stripe along its back is finally the last fish still swimming, seeming to have hardly been scratched in the fight.

Seems one of the Frillish has taken a liking to you. Only 1500 for that one.

"Sorry i'm pretty much broke and don't have anything to trade with either. Just having a look around while the others decide on what they want."

[KujiUn]

"Whoa." Russ looks at the tadpoles before turning to the group. "Alright, guys, we gotta make fifteen hundred and then come back, alright? Let's do this!"

[Esprit15]

Era looks at Liam you sadly. That's too bad, he seems to like you a lot. The Frillish looks at you with big, black eyes before swimming off.

[Dragonsage]

Sylvia watched the whole aquatic scuffle among the green fish. 'Aggressive things, huh?' She thought as she took note of the one who came out on top. 'Guess we know who's king of the tank.' She mused as she continued looking about.

[Esprit15]

As you continue to peruse the tanks, you also notice a sole Magikarp in a tank, separated from the tank with the other Magikarp and the one Feebas that Zachariah had mentioned earlier. The fish had fairly jagged fins, odd for a Magikarp. A sign under the fish noted its reason for separation and different appearance. 'Hatched of Fire/Water Gyrados. Highly aggressive, strong fighter. 1500.' The fish notices you and quickly swims to the glass, watching you with interest. That's Blitz. We tried keeping him for show, but when he started fighting with his other tank mates we had to separate him. Rather not have to put him down, but he eats like crazy and still fights even after we tried to give him a calmer demeanor. He'd make an excellent teammate when he evolves, too, but nobody has wanted to put in the time.

Laim takes a few minutes to repair the Dive ball again, he had enough mons to build two teams so even if he'd have the money he didn't have the time to raise another one.

Autumn goes over to see the little guy, "I already have a magikarp so I wouldn't feel right taking this little guy," Autumn says, "I hope he finds a good home."

[Dragonsage]

"Fire/water Gyarados, huh?" Sylvia read the sign before looking up at the fish who was looking at her with interest. "You refuse to stop fighting, right?" She smiled and placed her on the tank. "An honorable trait, especially for your kind." She continued to speak to the magikarp to see how it would react.

[Esprit15]

The Magikarp flails wildly, swimming the length of its tank. On closer inspection, small fangs are visible growing in its mouth. A sign that evolution was close at had already? It seems happy at the idea of a trainer who would be willing to put up with its energy.

[Dragonsage]

A little thrown off by the fangs, Sylvia takes another good look at the magikarp. "I didn't know magikarp even had teeth."

Sylvia
A close look shows several things seem odd. The dorsal fun of the Magikarp is far smoother than that of a normal Magikarp. Despite the apparent lack of feeding it, the Magikarp is still wider than most normal members of its species. Its eyes are oddly located, and like those of a person whose are too far apart it's slightly awkward to look at. It's tail is somewhat jagged at the edges, and seems a more solid color than that of most Magikarp.

If I see any evidence in actions that suggest anyone besides Dragon has read this, bad things WILL happen to them.:smallannoyed: Zachariah snaps out of his trance with your Eevee and brings it over to you, the fox-like Pokémon walking more slowly than before and seeming less aggressive. "I'm sorry, did you say something about Blitz here? Great specimen, would make a formidable ally when he evolves, if you can deal with such boundless energy." You feel your focus being drawn away from the odd details of the Magikarp as he speaks to you.

[Dragonsage]

"Yeah certainly a energetic thing." Sylvia continued watching fish swim about it's tank a moment, finding it difficult to keep focus on the details she just noticed about it.

Meanwhile, Amelia approaches Arhi and inspects the other fox pokemon having noticed the Eevee moving a little slow. After the the little inspection Sylvia takes the Eevee up into her arms and gently pets her. "Hey there girl, you feeling okay?" She asked before turning to Amelia. "What do you think about the magikarp, girl?"

The multi-tailed then looked over to the Magikarp and then over Zachariah and Era, looking over their Auras.

While the Amelia was looking over Zachariah, Sylvia continued her questioning. "The sign says that it was hatched of a water/fire gyarados. What typing would that make it then?"

[Esprit15]

Your Eevee happily nuzzles you as you pick her up. Looking at the Auras of the Pokémon and trainer, she seems to recoil from the Magikarp quickly. You swear you can see it make a motion like laughing at the sight of the scared Eevee. She looks at Era and then quickly to Zachariah, her focus staying on him, then shifting back to Era again. She seemed to be having an Aura conversation with the Gardevoir. She seems content enough, and the more modest nature seems to be setting in and making her a little on edge.

"Other than the light physical changes, I haven't seen any sign of a fire typing showing up in him, sadly. It's tough to get synced types to pass via breeding. Guess it only kinda took. Takes after his mother though with those features. Hopefully at least gets a bit of the move availability, if not the type. I had told you 1500, right?"

[Spacewolf]

Seeing Russ was in a similar state of poverty to himself Liam wanders over to have a chat with him.

"So while the others are sorting out their purchases why don't we step outside and sell some of the pokeballs i make. It would be useful to have someone else there to act as a crowd drawer as well as making sure no one tries to steal anything.

If you interested i'll give you half of what we make that way you can at least have some money to start betting with. You can decide how to draw a crowd maybe a spar with your mons or something."

[KujiUn]

"Alright then! But we gotta do it right outside the shop, just in case we need the others for something. Got it?" Russ looked serious, and he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

[Spacewolf]

"Like i said step just outside. Should be a fine place to set up shop"

[KujiUn]

"Righto, then! Let's do this! Emma, we'll be outside, alright? Let the others know too." Russ steps outside and contemplates what to do to attract a show. He unlocks and takes out PUNCH, wearing his wrestler mask. "Alright then, let's do this!" So, Russ and PUNCH have a mini-wrestling match outside the shop!

While Russ was sparing and attracting the customers Liam kept to the side advertising and selling his produce.

"Come on step up and get your pokeballs here, Dive balls guaranteed to work anywhere in Sienna with a 15% increase in capture rates 40% off what you would pay in a pokemarket. All other mechanical balls sold here as well."

Liam manages to pull in a bit of a small crowd, and after seeing Russ and PUNCH'smatch, decides to sell genuine Seismic Toss balls, with little wrestlers painted on them. They make a cool 6480, split 2 ways.

[Spacewolf]

"Right Russ looks like thats all we're going to be selling today. Heres your cut, thanks for the help."

Liam hands over Russ' share of the money

"Right! Now I can get a Poliwag for my team!" Russ pockets the money and heads back inside, recalling PUNCH. Back near the tanks, he looks around before finding a Poliwag tank. He's seen Poliwag before, so he looks for the funny tails and the swirls on their bellies. :D

[Esprit15]

A Poliwag that looked particularly burly stands out to Russ in the terrarium. Seeing the enthusiastic young trainer, it makes little waving motions from a puddle, wobbling its head back and forth at you.

[Dragonsage]

Satisfied with the Eevee's analysis if the three, Sylvia nods. "Right, 1500. I guess I'll take him then." She then pulled out the her money to pay the man, satisfied with the explanation of the details with her loose knowledge of how type shifting physically effects mons. 'Guess it makes sense that the physical traits would pass on to the child.' She thought as she handed over her payment for the magikarp and nature shift.

"Guess it's going to take some getting used to, huh?" She whispered to her Eevee, continuing to pet it to calm it.

Russ looked at the Poliwag. "Whoa, this one is cool!" He turns to the two shopkeepers. "So, this Poliwag is also 1500?"

[Esprit15]

Sylvia
The man smiles at your choice. The Magikarp is pulled from the water and recalled into a ball, which is handed to you. "Thank you. I'm gonna go check on your wrestling friend over there, so just and the money to Era."

Russ
Zachariah heads over to you after dealing with Sylvia. "Yep, 1500. One of them stands out to you?"

[KujiUn]

"This one! It looks ready to be a fighter!" Russ points at the burly Poliwag, almost slamming his finger to the glass.

[Esprit15]

"Don't touch the glass. They hate that."

[KujiUn]

"Oh okay." Russ withdraws his finger. "I still want that one though."

[Esprit15]

The salesman smiles and recalls the Poliwag. "There you go. Think that was- wait, your friend has been awful quiet." Era motions to you to pay her while Zachariah deals with Damien. "You interested in anything here?"

[Dragonsage]

Sylvia hands the money over to the gardevoir as she receives her purchase. After the transaction, she then exits the shop. "I'll be just outside if someone needs me." She said before stepping out with Amelia following behind.

Once outside she places Arhi on the ground and allows the two foxes to nuzzle each other for a while. "You feeling okay, Arhi? Feel like evolving now or would you like to rest before doing so?" Sylvia pulled out the Dawn stone and held it out in the palm of her hand, Allowing the Eevee to touch it if wanted to evolve now.

Ahri touches the stone, and begins to glow. Glow with such intensity, that Sylvia has to look away. But Ahri glows brighter and brighter until she releases a wave of white light that washes over Sylvia and everyone nearby, giving off a feeling of serenity and happiness. When Ahri dims enough for Sylvia to look at, it was no longer an Eevee staring back at her, but an Espeon.

After being blinded by the light, Sylvia rubs her eyes to allow them to readjust from the brightness. "Arhi?" She said when her eyes finally adjusted. "Look at you!" She was in awe with the creature with sleek purple fur and gem at the center of it's forehead before her. "You're beautiful." She caressed her hand down the length of the espeon's body.

Damien gave a Iris a quick thanks before saying his fair wells and handing her the data she's requested; wishing her luck before setting off in search of the weird fish man. Though what they found went well beyond his expectations.

The shear variety in that shop was unbelievable. After having explored much of the shop with Yanko, Damien was astounded by the shear amount of effort that must've gone into obtaining and caring for all these pokemon; many of which the young boy could scarcely identify making their inability to use their pokedex all the more noticeable, much to Yanko's disapointment.

More than once they'd lost their bearings for a moment amid the veritable sea of tanks and terrariums as they tried to explore every inch of the shop; though the sounds of the others served well enough for them to find their place once more, even if they were little more than background noise them amid their musings and dialog. Eventually coming upon his target.

He'd sensed them before even entering the shop, only Yanko's sight assuring him that all was well; now he stood before them, a veritable school of what he recognized as Frillish. The young trainer restraining the urge to touch the cool glass as he looked on in wonderment; having always been fascinated by the curious creatures, witnessing so many of them together was truly a treat. Though being near such a large gathering of spiritual creatures certainly played a role in that as well; having felt their absence from his life keenly since Aden's theft.

Still it was hard not to be enthralled by them; they were the strangest of all ghost types after all, at least in his eyes. They were more of the sea than of death, if one didn't know any better one wouldn't even be able to tell that they were Ghosts as they lacked so many of the visible traits shared by their kin. He couldn't help but regale Yanko with a few tales and tid bits of the creatures, even as he greeted the school of frillish; only the sudden white flash from Arhi's evolution managing to draw his attention away from them.

Noticing that their host had been trying to talk to him, Damien does his best to regain his composure; even as Yanko let's him know that Liam and Russ had gone outside. "Oh, uhm, how much was it for one of them?" he asked as he turned towards the Frillish in the tank.

Damien
Several of the Frillish don't have the spectral feel to them, despite resembling one in every other way. "1500 for one."

[KujiUn]

Russ goes up to the lady to pay her, getting the Pokeball. "Alright, now I got me a Water Fighting type! A future one, at least." He nodded before looking for the others, joining up with them.

[Regalus]

Damien nods, contemplating his own options, before raising a brow in confusion. The young trainer recounted just to be certain, and sure enough it seemed he was right; the number of spiritual signatures he sensed didn't match up with the number of Frillish he saw. "Hey Mister, are any of these Frillishes type shifted or something?" Damien asked as he studied the odd Frillishes intently.

[Esprit15]

The psychic gives you a very sudden glare at the question. "No, they are not. Why would someone shift away a Ghost typing on them? That's one of the things that makes them such a beautiful species." You can feel him actively probing your mind now, almost frantically, before his face appears to calm. "There may be a couple with a defect that removes the ghost typing. Some don't like the type, so I hold onto those ones. I have a sense that you're not one of those kind though." Your sense on the ghost types begins to blur a bit, making counting the spectral ones a bit more difficult. How about you keep things here quiet, I don't give you a false like I planned to, you act dumb when the time comes, and we go our separate ways? Or, Ambrule and Nox could have a bit of fun with you instead. Savez? A brief feeling of unimaginably painful fire hits you at the mention of Ambrule, and of being pulled apart as Nox is mentioned. His gaze remains on the Frillish, though his eyes appear to have darkened considerably. Your senses earlier were apparently so wrapped up in the Frillish that they had missed a very powerful ghost that was upstairs.

Damien tensed and inwardly cursed as he sensed the sadly familiar feeling of having his mind probed; barely scrounging up the will to calm Yanko down amid his indignation at the current exchange. An order he was strongly reconsidering once he felt his 6th sense become muddled; though stayed his course if only due to civility, something that payed off open realizing just how much support the old shop keep had on hand.

"Y-yeah; I've...always been a fan of these guys; always wanted one of them for my dream team ya know? They're really something special; was just asking in case there were any of'em like Blitz. I'm not all too familiar with type shifting yet, so I like to learn what I can when I can ya know?" he explained honestly, trying to bring forth the same sense of wonder he'd spoken with before, but sadly unable to conceal the new tension in his voice. His gaze slowly focusing on the Shopkeep as he gathered his wits.

Well, so much for hospitality, he began indignantly. Mister, I'm just a kid and a tourist; don't you think that threatening me is just a bit much? For voids sake! If you'd just stuck to your story, or had asked why I asked first before barging into my psyche you could've avoided this whole mess and I'd be none the wiser! Moreover, if you knew that I sensed that they weren't all spiritually puissant blurring my Sight would serve you for little more than metaphorically slapping me in the face, and all but initiating hostilities between us, he continued slipping into his more formal in order to temper his feelings, already doing his best not to out right scowl at their host.

The young trainer closed his eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath before exhaling, By all rights I should go to the nearest official and denounce you for this; and let the ensuing muk storm do its magic, but I won't. They don't deserve that, he replied jerking his head towards the side, motioning towards the pokemon in the nearby tanks, an odd mix of concern and frustration in his tone.

So, could we rather just forget about this little exchange, and call it water under the bridge? As a businessman I'm sure you wouldn't want this sort of thing to put a damper on future business relations, right? Especially if it'll effect our possible business transactions or ventures together right? Damien quipped in a more light-hearted tone and a determined gleam in his eye, as he offered the older man the proverbial olive branch.

The man smiles and laughs a bit. "Good to see that you take an interest in shifting. Good to see a new generation want to learn something." He pulls out a ball and recalls one of the ones that your eyes had been following and were pretty sure was a Ghost Frillish.

That. Is. Amusing. You making a threat to me. Such a young tourist. I suppose you saw one of those slack jawed wannabe cons out there beaten senseless by a guard? No, a good con doesn't run a game that he CAN lose. And you running to the guard? That's hilarious! You don't take a stup in here but because I allow it! You make a single move to leave and your next course will be towards the Carvanah tank! Or Nox. Not really sure which appeals more to me. He hasn't gotten out much lately.

But, you seem to still be a reasonable young man. Perhaps I was a bit paranoid and jumped to conclusions. Water under the bridge. Of course if you do rat me out, I'll know. And you won't like what happens if you do that. You get a strong feeling that he has forced someone to beat their self to death before. Think on it. "Now, I think we've found you your ideal mon, son! Let me ring that up for you so you and your friends can go on to enjoying our wonderful town!" He quickly moves towards the register, Era weaving around his way. Please be careful, Damien. He will follow through on his threat if you do something rash.

After a minute of transferring ownership documents, you are now the proud owner of a Frillish! "I believe that is all of you. Look around a bit longer if you feel like it. I've got a bored Chandelure to finish sparring with right now." He steps upstairs, and a moment later you hear a loud burst of flames above you. "Ouch! Judge it Ambrule, that's my bad arm!"

Against his best desires, Damien cringed at the impression he received from the telepath; exchanging a brief look with Yanko before maneuvering towards the register. A sudden feeling of dread overcoming him as he reached into his pocket, causing him to inwardly curse. Hehe, don't worry about it Miss Era; I prefer to live life by making as few enemies as humanly possible, an your trainer is certainly someone I don't want to be on bad terms with, he replied trying to come off casually, though his own somewhat rigid posture betraying him and his apparent light-heartedness seeming for forced than anything at the moment.

"Uhm, I'll be right back," he swiftly stated going over towards the others as quickly as he could without running, while Zacheriah got the necesarry papers ready. The young lad could feel his partners gaze upon him and unasked questions he was holding back only due to more pressing matters a foot. They were going to have a chat about this, he could feel it.

"Uhm,... hey guys," he began once he reached Sylvia and Russ, taking note of Arhi's new form before continuing. "Could either of you loan me 400 poke please? I'll pay ya back as soon as I can," he pleaded, both hands held together to emphesis his need.

"Oh, you need money?" Russ put 400 in Damien's hand. "Liam made a lot of money making SEISMIC TOSS balls! So here!"

[Regalus]

Damien raised a brow curiously, he'd have to ask them about it later. "Thanks Russ," he quipped gratefully before heading back to the register and completing the transaction. He couldn't help but grin nostalgically at the sounds being made by the shenanigans up stairs; before he and Yanko released a held breath simultaneously. The experience having been far more trying than either would have liked.

With that done, a small dispute between him and Yanko over, Damien brought out the little frillish; hoping to properly greet his new buddy and give it a chance to says its farewells to its old friends.

The Frillish waves to its friends, and several wave back, including a pink one which swims up to the glass and makes some sort of gesture at it. Seems had a few good friends here. The female Frillish waves at you too, trying to make it clear that there were no hard feelings.

Russ looks at everyone else. "Alright, guys, let's get going! I think we all bought a Pokemon or something."

Damien smiled before turning to Era, "Hey, uhm, you wouldn't happen to know a place 'round here where I could sell an evo stone for some decent cash would ya?"

Check by one of the casinos. Things like Eevee are a common prize, so someone would probably be willing to take up your offer.

Russ walks out the store with his new Poliwag! "Alright, guys! Where to next?"

"Costume store maybe?"

Damien gives Era a final farewell before joining the others. "Well, now that the excitement's over we may want to find where we're staying tonight. After that I personally am gonna need to sell this dusk stone before doing anything else; still need to pay you back, and that frillish cost me most of my cash,"

Russ looked at Liam funny. "Costume store? Why would we go there?"

[Spacewolf]

"Huh o yea suppose you wouldn't of heard if you want to do the gym in this city you need to wear a costume to get in."

Damien raised a brow, "Seriously?" he asked, both befudled by the requirement, and not looking forward spending his poke on a costume just to have his gym match.

[Spacewolf]

"Yea according to the site it famous for being the first Cos-play gym. It also has no leader so i guess anybody their is qualified to give you the badge."

As you leave, the store seems to almost vanish behind you, blending right in to the two buildings around it.

After fondling her new Espeon for a while, Sylvia recalled Amelia not wanting to have too many pokemon out while walking about. "A cos-playing gym?" She questioned as she stood up and dusted herself off.

"I'll just wear my wrestling mask!" Russ nodded as if that was good enough. "So, costume store... it's probably right next to the gym, right?"

[Spacewolf]

"Yea although i don't know what that means once we're in just that we need to wear a costume to get in. That would probably be a sensible place for it to be"

Autumn taps her dex to the pokeball she had just gotten so she could get a bit more info on the little guy, and her eyes widen at the image of a stunfisk... "guys, I think we just got ripped off," she says, "He just sold me a stunfisk as a mantyke!"

"Whoa!" Russ shows the picture of an evolved Tympole. "It isn't a Poliwag, but this would make an awesome wrestling buddy!"

Sylvia nodded. "Yeah then lets go check out this gym then. Maybe Damien can sell his stone on the way there." She then gave a mental sigh at the thought of dressing up.

A foreign voice then sounded in the ninja's mind. 'What's wrong, Sylvia?'

The voice startled the ninja as she looked around for the origin, until Arhi started pawing at her legs. 'Arhi?'

"Espeon!" Arhi chimed as the voice continued. 'Yes. I can speak into your mind now!'

"That's so cool." The words escaped Sylvia's lips, just before she heard Autumn and Russ say something about the pokemon they bought. So she took out the magikarp's ball and tapped it with her dex. When the image of the Carvanha appeared on the screen she did not just widen her eyes but she dropped the ball and leapt away from the ball, as if to distance herself away from the thing.

Before the ball could hit the ground, it started to glow in a light purple glow and was suspended in the air. "Esp?" Arhi tilted her head at her trainer's reaction. 'Sylvia?'

"Carvanha!" Sylvia was slightly shaking as her hand moved over to the scar where she was bitten. "He sold me a Carvanha..." The images of the sharpedo taking a bite out of her flooded her mind as scar began to ache. 'All I wanted was a magikarp...'

I'm assume the dex would tell her that Carvanha evolves into sharpedo seeing how she has scanned both

Autumn pushes aside the problem with getting a stunfisk, when Sylvia drops the pokeball, but it was understandable with what it was and what happened to her concerning carvanha, Autumn takes out Arashi's pokeball, picks up the carvanha's and holds out Arashi's, "how about I trade you my magikarp for your carvanha," she says, with a slightly sad smile. She liked Arashi, but Sylvia would take care of him as well as anyone else in the group.

"Are you sure?" Sylvia takes note of Autumn's weird smile as approaches her. She then took up Arashi's ball and glanced over to carvanha's ball feeling a little guilty about getting it's hopes up about buying it, but she handle the thought of training it without the memories of the beach incident creeping into her mind. She didn't think it affected her this much, but then again she didn't really do much to try to get over it other then not talk about it and trip on audino medication. She took some solace with the thought that at least this carvanha would have a trainer.

"Well if you're sure about it." She accepted the trade, followed by a respectful bow.

'Sylvia, what was that all about?' The espeon continued to give her trainer a puzzled look.

'I'll explain it later to you, it's a bit of a story.' Arhi seemed content with the answer.

As the girls were trading, the guys were looking up details on the Gym on their Xtrancievers. They found out a few details.

The Gym, while having no leader, is run by a small community of fans and they make decisions by comity. If you beat any member of the Gym, you get the badge. Each month, a different member takes up reigns as the stand-in leader.

While the GYM has no leader, Sienna CITY does, and Brock acts as local Gym leader for League matters. He also sponsors the Gym.

Costumes are provided by the Gym, and you MUST wear one while challenging or they refuse your challenge. As the Gym leaders have final say on who can or can't challenge the gym, there is no way around this rule.

Costumes are of pokemon, and they are picked by an agreement between the challenger and the member.

Battles are 3 on 3, and you pick your 3 before the match. The pokemon that the Gym member is dressed up as is usually in their team.

Autumn nods, "I know you'll take care of him, I did teach him how to use bounce, so he has an attack he can use until he learns tackle," she says, "I do suggest training him with alternate methods until then though, I haven't had much of a chance to lately," she says, giving some small tips for taking care of him while she stores the carvanha's ball, she'd get to know the little guy later, probably with Lillian and Marcus around to make sure he's not to roudy.

[Spacewolf]

"Well at least we don't have to pay for the costumes, we should probably stop by the center on the way to the Gym as well."

[Dragonsage]

Sylvia nodded as she listened to Autumn's advice about training the Magikarp. "Right, I'll get to training him as soon as I can." She said as she placed the ball away, before she approached the other guys. "So the costumes are mandatory? That's...different." She sighed. "Well lets head off to find a center first."

[KujiUn]

"Right! Let's go to the center to heal up and then go to the gym!" Russ quickly grabs everyone's hands before setting off to the Pokecenter, pulling them if needed!

[EdroGrimshell]

"Yea," Autumn says, trying to keep up with Russ, "but, can I have my hand back first?" she asks playfully, grinning slightly as she walks.

[KujiUn]

"No! You're all being too sl-" Russ pauses in his speech without pausing in his pace, and he lets go of Autumn's hand, still leading the rest to the Pokecenter.

[Spacewolf]

Trying to slip his hand out of Russ grasp, Liam keeps running alongside "Should just be a quick stop at the center then we can go to the Gym. Still got plenty of time left in the day so theres not much need to be rushing about like this."

As everyone is being dragged along by the moving man-hulk that is Seismic Toss, Emma tap scans a ball no one had seen on her before.

'Gah! I paid 7000 for a Corsola, and all I got was a stinking Krabby???'


Soon, Russ finds the Center, where a rather emo looking nurse named Nurse Misery heals your pokemon for you. Seems one of the joys was going through that awkward teenage stage, and had dyed her hair black and changed her name.

'Here you go. I hope we never have to see you again' she says in a monotone voice while looking lifeless. A senior Joy moves up behind her and slaps her on the back of the head, bowing in apology.

'Sorry. Here are your pokmon. Please take care and come again soon.'


After about a half hour of walking you find the Gym, and it looked as busy as any other part of town. Maybe the reason they had no leader was that there was no way one person could handle this many challenges?

Last minute perp. If you want to buy any items, give any berries or switch unlocked mon, do so now.

Liam buys 2 super potions, and 2 awakenings. Before getting himself 2 lumlum jucies a Sparkling lemonade.

After Drinking the lemonade and shifting his mon around Liam goes into the gym. Before letting out any of his mons he places an Int seal on both Cerbs and Grigoris pokeballs.

Since Cerb was out while he was working Liam keeps an eye on him for any changes or uncomfortableness. Once he was done he checks with Cerb to see how he was doing.
"You feeling alright? It might take abit of getting used to but you should be able to get used to it and hopefully you should find it beneficial. So just relax for abit. I'm going to chat with another new member of the team."

He then lets out Shrike and Grigori giving them his Pecha berry and Aspear berry respectivly.

Since this was the first time he had been able to let Grigori out of his ball he has a chat with him after he gives him the berry. Not wanting to just be letting out the dragon just for fights, considering what Iris had said about them reacting to Environmental factors.
"Nice to meet you. Sorry about not letting you out sooner but Iris said you might attract unwanted attention, but we should be fine here. So how are you? There might be abit of dizzyness to go with me placing a seal on your ball that increases intelligence, hopefully it should pass quickly though."

Grigori sniffs around, and you notice that there are no visible eyes.
"Dein?"
He walks closer to you, sniffing to find your hand. He begins licking it, taking the berry quickly.
Then he bites down on your hand and a good portion of your arm. You wince, expecting pain, but no fangs sink in. You feel his tongue probing your hand, and you come away with a much shorter sleeve, as he chews what he took.
"Deino!"

Well the jacket had been shot though blown up and now eaten. He'd definatly need to look into getting a new one at some point.

The dragons reaction hadn't exactly been unexpected though since the dex had mentioned but even then the first few seconds had been abit tense before the dragon had started tickling him with it's tongue.

So shaking some of the saliva off his arm he pats the Dragon on the head.
"Well at least you seem happy.
So we're going to be going for a gym badge here and i figured you'd like to at least meet me before that. So you ready for it?"

"Dei."
He sits...wait, is he getting ready to sp-
"Deino dei!"
...You never needed to know what the inside of a deino's mouth looked like. Or how it smelled. Once you get him off, you notice his little tail stub moving with anticipation.

Falling back onto his ass while trying to get the Deino off Liam takes a few big breaths as it comes off. Seeing the dragons tail wagging as it comes off Liams thoughts of giving it a few choice words fly out the window and he falls even futher back laughing. Apparently recent events had caused him to be abit more emotionally relaxed.

Even with that though he regains his composure after a few seconds of laughing and stands back up, still grinning.
"Heh, right then looks like we're all set. Let's go see what this gyms like."

Recalling Cerb Liam sends out Shock to join the other two. After all he would need his hands for this a squirtles were naturally Bipedal.

Going to the desk Liam greets the gym member who was present and asks what he had to do next.

Sylvia wasn't quite sure what to say about the Krabby rip of, so she said nothing to Emma regarding it. So while waiting for the other to get their last minute shopping done, She handed Arhi one of the oran berries from the other day. "Save it for when you need it." She told the Espeon, before turning over to Emma. "So, what do you think of Arhi's new form?" She asked as the purple fox trotted over to the psychic sat in front of her.

'Hello Emma!' The espeon started nuzzling against Emma.

Sylvia smiled as Arhi showed Emma some affection, before she Sent out Rocza to give her an Oran berry and told her the same thing she told Arhi before returning her.

Autumn sets up a moment, like the others were doing, and decides to try something, "Damien, could you help me out for a minute, please?" she asks him. She then lets out her new stunfisk pets her like she had in the store, "hello there," she says as she pets her, "Mind helping me talk to her, I'm not sure she'd understand what I want to try."

Russ switched the locks for a bit, still pretty annoyed by the whole process. Still, he waits for everyone else to get ready before heading to the gym!

Emma snaps out of some kind of internal dialogue with her self hearing the Espeon. A giant smile spreads across her face, she bends over and picks up the fox-cat-whatever-thing, spinning it around with a high pitched squeal. OH! MY! ARCEUS! It's so cute! CUTE CUTE CUTE! She holds the Espeon close, in a loving, if a bit strangling, embrace.

After hearing Autumn's request Damien nods and follows her to her spot, a bit curious himself about the lass' intent. "Sure, no problem," he replied cheerfully before clearing his throat and bonding with Sadi. "Hey there, I'm Damien; I'm a friend of your new trainer. She wants to ask you something, but she's not sure if she'll be able to explain it all clearly in one go. So, if you wanna tell her something, or you want to ask a question let me know and I'll pass it along to Autumn alright?" he asked, waiting for it's confirmation before signaling Autumn to say whatever it was she wanted to say.

Autumn nods, "I would like to use this," she pulls out her fighting shifter, "to make you a fighting type rather than a ground type. It's a major change, and having only just met you I thought it'd be a good idea to ask rather than just do it," she says, continuing to pet the little guy, "it'd be a major change, but I think it'd be an interesting experience, at the very least."

Sylvia laughed as the watch Emma squeal over the Espeon. The spectacle had certainly put the ninja in a better mood after getting ripped off by the creepy fish psychic. More importantly, her girlfriend really seemed to be in good mood.

Arhi tried to make herself more comfortable as she nuzzled against Emma. 'You smell pretty.' She took a whiff of Emma's scent. 'No wonder Sylvia seems very fond of you.' She then gave Emma a sweet smile.

Meanwhile, Sylvia remained oblivious to what Arhi was saying to Emma as she just looked about the crowds. She took note of Liam heading into the gym while the others were up to there own plans. She wasn't in any particular hurry to get dressed up just for a match. So she decided to wait until everyone else was ready to go in, plus it gave Emma more time with Arhi.

The impish little Stunfisk seems to find it funny that Autumn got tricked. 'Hehe, that was a good one. Tell you what. If you can show me your power and win in the Gym battle your friends are talking about, I'll use that shifter of yours. Prove to me your not some idiot the owner tricked and I'll give you my strength.'


Once you all get to the Gym, it's a bustling and busy place. Marvelous costumes blind your eyes with colour. Liam nearly get's knocked over by a little boy in a Teddiursa suit chasing a little girl in a Pikachu outfit. In the corner, a match has just ended and a man dressed as a Drapion shakes claws with a man dressed as a Kingler. A woman is showing off her Butterfree wings to a fashion designer who is making small adjustments do them. There are plenty of people just here talking photos of the costumes or talking to people about them. Seems this was a real tourist trap.

A woman in a beautiful dress glides over to your small group when she sees you. Her dress wa one of the most eye catching in the room, and it was clear that it must have cost a fair penny to make. Liam and Damien both faintly recognise the costume and what it's representing. 'Hello, and welcome to Sienna Gym. I'm senior trainer Loretta, and I'm one of the stand-in Gym Leaders, although it's my husband who is acting in that capacity this month. Are you here for a fitting, a gym battle, or just here to photograph the costumes? If so, we must warn you, we have a strict no-photo police on our members under 10, but other than that everyone here is friendly and willing to model and help you with your own costumes.' She bows deeply to all of you in turn.

"Righto!" Russ pumps his fist in the air. "We're here for gym battles!"

"Yea, what he said."

Damien silently nodded in agreement, still a bit apprehensive about the whole thing...even if some of these costumes did look pretty cool.

'Okay, fantastic' beams the woman. 'Please, come this way. I hope you aren't all shy. Now, do any of you have any idea what pokemon you'd like to cosplay as? If not, I'll set you up with your opponent who can help you decide.'

She leads you to another part of the gym. It was a large empty room, with costumes hanging on the wall and changing rooms on the side. There were a few people making alterations to costumes, or helping other challengers with their decision.

"Guess i'll go with a Squirtle costume then."

[Regalus]

Damien looked around wide-eyed; the chamber was a veritable hive of activity with costumes as far as he could see. So many colors, styles and textures; Damien was at complete and utter loss as to where to even start in this place. "Y-yeah, that might be nice actually," he abashedly replied as his eyes continued scanning the room.

"I'll go with a Machoke custome then!"

"Deal," Autumn says, "guess I won't be fighting with you until after then."

"I'd prefer a Lilligant costume."

Sylvia glances about the room and looks at all the costumes available. 'Impressive stock at least.' She thought before the Espeon's voice intruded into her mind again.

'You never explained what your problem with dressing up was.'

'My, you've become more curious since evolving.' Sylvia gave her mon a funny look before resuming browsing through the outfits. 'Well Amelia would know all about this but I guess she hadn't told you about it, but in case you haven't noticed.' She paused and gestured to her normal outfit. 'I don't always dress lady like, despite being pretty much the princess of my clan. Always been more focused on my training rather than trying to be dolled up. Through my father did try to because i was HIS little princess. Mother didn't really try. I don't think she cared much for it ether.'

'Oh, I guess that makes sense. So you never dressed up in anything fancy?'

A nostalgic smile appear on her face when she came across a beautiful kimono. 'Only time my mother and I ever dressed up willingly and put any real effort into it was for festivals or events.' She then picked out the Kimono as it reminded her of one that her mother wore during a summer festival when Sylvia was little girl, feeling a little homesick.

"I am going to where this one." She showed it to the lady before entering one of the vacant dressing rooms and started changing out of her clothing and draping the rich fabric around her body, tying the belt securely around her waist before adjusting the tails of her costume. She then tied up her hair in an elaborate design with her bangs looping to the back of her head, like her mother had shown her many times before. She then fixed the hair band atop of her head which gave her the appearance that she had fox ears.

Sylvia steps out to see Emma in a full blown Blissey (http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lfrlnnaOGB1qaw90jo1_500.jpg) costume. 'I think it suits you Sylvia. You should dress up more often.' Seems Emma also wanted to try out the Gym challenge.


Once everyone was ready, 6 people step out to face you. The man at the front steps out towards you. 'Hello, I'm Saxton, the Senior Trainer of the Gym who is acting as Gym leader this month. I'll be battling against one of you.' The other 5 were a varied bunch. Since it was Emma's first gym challene, she was paired up against someone else who was acting as a gym trainer for the first time in a strange armoured (http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk83p8CWad1qgj2rto1_500.jpg) outfit. There was a woman in a red dress (http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs14/f/2007/099/1/4/PKMN_124___Jynx_by_inukai.jpg), a man in a stunning white outfit (http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/114/f/e/Gijinka_Togekiss_by_Namida_no_Uta.jpg) who seemed dying to battle, a cocky looking boy dressed in white (http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs15/f/2007/043/6/9/Pkmn_Gijinka_Project__Yukinoo_by_Felis_M.jpg), and a girl in black (http://th04.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/f/2012/180/0/d/gijinka_gothitelle_concept_by_radenwa-d55bsxn.jpg) who you had seen as oneof the designers, who was taking a break from sowing for some battling.

Liam puts his jacket and other clothes in his bag before putting on the costume, taking a good look at the jacket which came with it as he did so. "Yea, this will do nicely. I might have to buy it off you guys once we're done here."

For trainers he points out the guy in the Togekiss? costume with one of the cannons that he'd also been given.

"You really think so?" Sylvia takes a look another look at her costume after being complemented by Russ and Emma. "I still don't feel right dressing up unless it's a event, though I suppose a gym match would count as such." She shrugged.

The ninja quick averted her eyes when her eyes briefly meet with Saxton's, hiding them behind the fan to block the view. She was normally indifferent with the male body, but... That was a bit much, even for her. She kept avoiding visual contact until she saw Emma pair up with her gym trainer.

"Good luck in your match Emma!" She called out to Emma before approaching the girl in black. "I would like to challenge you if you don't mind." She asked before recalling Arhi and sending out Rocza for the match.

Autumn's eyebrow starts twitching violently at the skitty costumed man, it was one of the most horrid things she had ever seen, but she quickly turns away and goes to the girl in the red dress, "let's have a good match," she says with a grin, then sends out Su.

Damien felt just a tad more apprehensive about this whole afair. He knew he should've had a better handle on himself; of course his guide would've picked out this costume, his gaze had practically locked unto it the moment it entered his field of vision. He wasn't sure what he was feeling while putting on the costume though all in all it was oddly comforting to have his match in it. The last time h'd dressed up like this had been...a long time ago.

Thankfully before he could delve to deeply into it, his train of thought was demolished by the social equivalent of an atom bomb. It took all his well power not to turn around and flee upon spotting Saxton or uttering an 'Oh Arceus no' upon realizing he was the deputized gym leader. So deep was he in his mental gymnastic he hadn't realized all of the others had already selected their opponents. Looking at his remaining choice Damien scratch his scalp idly while trying his best to hold back the urge to grin from the irony of it all.

"Soo, ugh, the name's Damien," he said walking towards his foe, "Guess I'm your challenger for today, let's have a fun match," he offered trying to sound friendly.

Yeah, like Shrike wasn't gonna be first in any battle he's in.

Saxton gives a belly laugh and flexes his muscles. 'My wife is wathing you know, so I'll give it my all. To a manly battle.' He shakes Russ's hand and sends out a slow moving red snappy thing.

'No, of course I don't mind. I'm glad for the break, and I'm glad you look so nice in one of my costumes.' She gives Sylvia a curtsy and sends out a Ghastly who starts things off with a Mean Look.

Autumn

'Let's get to it.' Seemed this one wasn't much for words, unlike Liam's one. Still, you get the feeling it's more she was eager to battle than her being rude. As Loretta said, everyone in the gym was friendly.

She sends out a pokemon that looks like a miniature version of the one her costume was based on.

He seemed very pumped up, probably trying to get you to feel the same way.

It opens it's mouth and sings a sweet song, sending TAD to sleep. 'Yes, show them the power of your undeniable charm.'

Liam

'How'd you know I'd have a flying type?' asks the boy, obviously not the sharpest tool in the drawer.

The Jigglypuff tries to Charm Shrike, but the bird is too fast to notice.

Damien

The red thing is shaken by the scratch, but applies a Vicegrip attack to Leah, hurting it for 39 physical normal damage.

Leah finally hits the Corphish and knocks it out. The boy then proceeds to send out a Sandshrew, but it was a much more bulky looking one than the one Lotta took off Autumn.

The Skitty takes the hit, but stays up. 'Now, show this young warrior the power of Friendship and Love!' The Skitty rushes TAD, and he gets slapped with the tail as he's Returned for 57 normal physical damage. The crowd were awed and gasping at it.

Shrike misses, as the Magnerock deflects the attack with it's rock hard body. It shoots a rock out of it's eye, catching Shrike and inflicting 17 physical rock damage.

He sends out a strange red and white pokemon you don't know.

The Zorua goes down, and the silent girl sends out a strange white pokemon you don't recognize. It was flying in the air, but due to the shape of it's body, you'd guess it was supposed to live in the water.

The crowd goes silent as Shrike falls to the ground. The little bird wasn't breathing. Liam applies the potion, but nothing happened. Shrike just laying Liam's arms as his heart slowly stopped beating.

But at the moment his heart stopped, Shrike heard Liam's voice. Damien, despite being in a battle of his own, senses a powerful surge of spirit energy, as Shrike refuses to leave his own body.

The body in Liam's hands glows brighter and brighter, till he is forced to drop it. Shrike is enveloped by light, and an explosion of feathers occurs. Standing there was no longer the body of Shrike the friendly little Starly. Instead, looking back at Liam was a healthy if tired looking Shrike the Staravia.

Loretta comes over and places her hand on your shoulder. 'Have a five minute break after all that. Get to know your new pokemon. We will continue with a 2 on 2 match if you wish afterwords, but Shrike has been ruled unfit to battle.'

Shrike evolves to stay alive. He also learns the move Return.

Damien

The Sandshrew reels from the attack, but still looks healthy. But it was still reeling, this was Darren's chance!

Sylvia

Perhaps angered by Rocza's injury, Ahri tries to drop the Nidorina in one move, but she misses due to her anger. The Nidorina the kicks her in the face twice, causing 29 physical fighting damage.

Russ

The blue thing dodges the blow, and unleashes a blistering Fire Plede attack right in Punch's face, causing 20 special Fire damage.

Autumn

The strange flying pokemon takes the Ice attack, but stays up. It delivers 2 Wing Attacks on Duchess while the Lapras recovers, taking 26 and 27 physical flying damage. Autumn's pokedex kicks in, and shows her this is a Seal. And it was obvious it was a Flying shifted one at that.

Russ looks to Liam and Strike, not knowing what happened before, just that the evolution occured! "Congratulations, Liam!" he yells out, before turning his attention back to the battle. "Alright, PUNCH, try it again! Kick 'em hard, for Liam!"

Autumn stops very suddenly when Shrike falls and Liam runs to him, and how it evolved just in time to save its life. She was shaken. After a few moments to collect herself, she turns back to her opponent and gets back into the battle, she'd talk to him after this was all done, but, for now, she had had to finish this, not if she wanted that to not happen to anyone in their group.

"Duchess use Confuse Ray!" she calls out, at least this would help distract her opponent.

Sylvia fell deathly as the she heard the crowd's cheering die down to silence. "Oh no.." Was all she say when she saw what the cause of the silence was. Her reaction would have mirrored Liam's if it was Amelia who was dealt fatal damage. If the bond Liam shared with Shrike was anything like the bond Sylvia shared with her childhood partner, then the wound in his heart would be a great one.

She began to lower her head in mournful respect for the fall bird, until she caught the bright glow in her peripheral. She was simply in awe that not only did Shrike survive, but it had managed to evolve. 'Nothing short of a miracle.' She thought as she finally exhaled, before returning to her match just in time to see Arhi get kicked in the face twice.

"Shrug it off girl and try confusion again." Arhi then shoot out the ripples again at the nindorina after regaining her composer and nomming on her oran berry.

"No..." Damien muttered, hardly as a whisper as he heard Shrike's cry and the familiar silence that followed. He knew what had happened before he even turned his head, he could feel it in his bones. His eyes soon confirmed what he already knew.

There sat Liam, Shrike in his arms, crying out to his fallen partner begging him not to leave; reflexively lowering his gaze, the sight striking a far too familiar cord for him to bare watching. It took all his willpower to keep himself focused, as he heard Liam go on. It was too late, Shrike's heart was about to stop at any moment. All he could think about, all he could let himself think about, was what he could do for Liam. Thankfully before his thoughts got too far he felt something within Shrike stir. He could feel the brave bird fighting death's grip. Shrike's will was strong, Damien could feel it. He let himself hope for the briefest of moments. Then a miracle happened, and Shrike's lifeblood flowed anew.

Damien rejoiced. The feeling of elation coursing through him was most likely only surpassed by Liam himself. Shrike had lived, and was stronger for it. Today a young trainer had not lost his best friend. For a moment he could've sworn he noticed his tail light glow brighter. So it was that with renewed determination he turned back to face his challenge; his costume less a burden, now worn as a symbol.

Receiving Damien's cue, Darren raised his stick up high; commanding nearby earth to rise and strike down his for.

Shrike gives his wings a shake and hops about on his new legs. After flexing his muscles a little, he gives you a nod before putting his (rather larger) wing over your head.

Your opponent runs up to you all teary eyes. 'I'm so,so,so,so sooorrrryyy!' he squeaks out in a high pitched voice. He looked on the point of breaking down with tears.

Damien

The attack was good, but the Sandshrew's modified type allowed it to shrug off most of the attack. It tries to scratch at Darren to take him out, but if fluffs the attack and does barely any damage, Darren only takes 18 normal physical damage.

Sylvia

The Nidorina rushes and tries to hit Ahri with a devastating Slam, but misses and breaks off a section of the floor.

Autumn

The Seal reals back, and smashes it's face into Duchess, giving a solid Headbutt for 29 physical normal damage.

Russ

The blue and red thing unleashes a Water Gun on PUNCH, causing 30 special water damage. The pokedex activates and identifies it as a water/fire Marill.

Bowing his head as the bigger bird comforts him Liam blinks a few times before carrying on talking

"Good to hear Shrike. Heh guess Chickadee is going to be suprised to see you now. Let's makes sure we both get back home alright, no more stupid risks. Alright?"

Looking up glaring at the other trainer Liam relaxes abit when he sees the guys upset "Yea, don't worry about it. Not your fault."

'Guess she's still trying to adjust to her new form.' Sylvia gave a mental sigh as Arhi's attack missed again.

"Nice dodge Arhi." She smirked as she fanned herself. "Just try to stay calm and focus."

Arhi nodded to her trainer before sending out another ripple.

The brawl between the two ground types finally ends, and the Sandshrew faints from all the hits. The boy then proceeds to send out a pokemon looking sort of similar to the costume he was wearing.

Sylvia

Ahri finally hits, but the Eseon was not yet used to it's body, and so couldn't manage a powerful enough Confusion to knock out the Nidorina in one hit. It responds with another Double Kick, but only connects once and manages 16 physical fighting damage.

Liam

Loretta comes over and uses a potion on Shrike, just to make sure he was feeling better.

'Good, you both seem to have calmed down now. Would you like to continue the Gym challenge Liam, or will you call it a day? Either way, Shrike has faited and can't be used again.'

Russ

The Steam Marril faints, and a loud cheer goes up as Russ, no, as SEISMIC TOSS wins his 2nd Gym battle. Even Saxton gives you thumbs up.

Arhi shrugged off the kick before launching off another ripple at the Nidorina with hopes of finishing it.

The flying Seel finally goes down, and the woman sends out the pokemon her dress was modeled after, or at least a smaller version of it.

It starts things off with a Sweet Kiss, right on Duchesses lips, confusing the poor girl over her sexuality.

The boy sees Edna, then immediately crosses his arms. 'Sorry, I forfeit. Not going to risk my pokemon's health just for a battle. You win.' He offers you his hand in a show of sportsmanship.

Sylvia

The Nidorina finally drops to the type disadvantage, and the girl sends out the pokemon she had designed her dress after. But something about it seemed strange.

'Yes it was son. You done good. I hope you pokemon enjoyed it too.' He gives you a beaming smile. 'We'll wait till the other matches are over before handing out badges, if that's okay.'

The kid sends out the Rocknemite again, and it looked like it had been healed up in the interval, to make this a fair 2-on-2 fight.

It starts things off, hitting Grigori for 28 special electric damage from a T-Shock.

"Alright, then!" Russ wanders around the matches in the meanwhile, though. "Woo! Congrats, Damien!"

"Interesting." Sylvia scanned the new mon before giving a command to Arhi. "Try giving it a tackle!"

The small fox stared down her opponent before her trainer issued her a command. "Fire spin!" A torrent of spiral fire burst from Amelia heading towards her target.

"My match was a pretty even one, neither of us really had type advantage 'till the end. Gave Leah and Darren a good work out," he explained as he peered at his pokeballs and smiled. "A bit iffy about how it ended, but all in all it was a good match. First time I made it through one without any of my Mon fainting too," he added with a hint of pride in his voice.

"Whoa, that's great!" Russ nodded; not having a Pokemon get knocked out was a big deal for him, especially in a gym battle. "Right! You wanna go back to the stands while we wait for the others?"

Damien surveyed the ongoing battles for a moment before nodding to Russ in agreement.

The Togetic dodges, and hit's Grigori with a Magical Leaf, the many glowing leaves bouncing off his hide for 29 special grass damage.

"Thought that thing was never going down, but good work either way especially against that Magnamite."

Liam pulls the jacket out of the Deinos mouth gently to avoid damaging the Deinos teeth, hopefully before it took more than a mouthfull out of the bottom of the jacket, he did quite like it after all.

Sylvia finally exhales the breath she was holding in when Amelia darted forth before the Gothita launched it's attack. "Good job, girl!" She walked out to the fox and petted her as the Vulpix gave her a confused look about the costume her trainer was wearing. "Don't ask.." She smiled before she heard Russ cheer out randomly from the crowd. She couldn't stop herself from blushing as she stood up, so she hid her face below her eyes behind the fan. Amelia gave a bit of a cheer and wagged her tails happily.

She gave a bow towards the crowds, who watched her match and waved at Russ with her eyes narrowing slightly before she turned to the trainer she faced. "That was a truly exciting match." She removed the fan from her face and bowed to her opponent. "It was an honor."

"Lillian!" Autumn shouts as the petilil is hit by the frosty wind. She's still standing, but barely, Autumn bites her lip then makes a decision, "Lillian, use Sleep Powder!" if this hit, she could win, if not, well, she'd have to forfeit immediately.

The Smoochum tries to breath another Icy Wind, but it collapses and the ice disperses before it hits Lillian. Just at that moment, Emma commands a familiar looking Bagon to chomp down on her opponents Koffing, and wins her own match. Despite the risks takes, and how close some of you (ie, not Reg and Kuji) came to losing, you all managed to pull together and win. 6 badges, a clean sweep for Team Egg.

Damien cheered for the others, before joining them and congratulating the group on their hard earned victory; especially Liam and Emma, given their situations. "So...how's Shrike doing?" he asked Liam with a mixture of concern and curiosity.

"Seems to be fine he was getting used to his new form when i was talking to him. Otherwise just the same as ever"

Russ cheers. "Alright, I got my second badge! Two more and I'll be able to battle Damian..." He nodded to himself before turning to the others. "Alright! Where to now? The Pokecenter! After that, then what? Contest hall? CONTEST HALL!?"

"Congratulations everyone!" Sylvia greeted everyone as she approached the reforming group. She then listens to Liam's report on Strike until she's satisfied with the mon's condition before turning to Emma. "So how did your first gym match feel?" She asked before nodding at over to Russ. "Right lets go to the Center and take care of our pokemon first. Then we could check out the contests if you want."

Damien gives it some thought, "Uhm...sure, always wanted to try my luck in'em; was actually planning on entering the circuit some day 'till the league came back," he commented before turning to Emma, "By the way, I hope you don't mind if I ask but, what made you decide to join us back there this time around?" he asked with innocent curiosity; after having passed through so many towns without the young psychic trying for a badge despite joining them for their attempts, this was the first time she'd actually tried out for one... at least as far as he knew.

"I think I'll sit out the contest," Autumn says to Russ, "but I would like to see them. I'm sure you'll do good in yours big guy," she says, giving him a playful slap of the back, "let's go get our pokemon checked out and then head to the contest hall then."

Liam rubs the back of his head when Russ mentions checking out the contest hall "Yea i guess we could have a look in to see what it's like"

"Autumn, come on! Let's do a contest together! It's not like we have to be in different contests!" Russ headed to the Pokecenter, persuading Autumn to join a contest on the way, with stuff like "everyone shows off how pretty they are" and other junk!

When asked why she decided to enter this gym, Emma just blushes and mutters something under her breath, refusing to elaborate on what it was.

Saxton brings out the badges, then rubs his head as he sees Russ had already rushed off, draging Autumn with him. 'But I thought they wanted their Masque badge?'

Everyone else gathers round and is presented them by Saxton and his wife, and told they can keep their costume. The opponents who had battled gathered round and applauded. The Skitty from before would take the badge from Saxton, climb down him, then climb up each person to deliver it before running back and repeating.

"Hehe, Russ is just a bit over excited right now; I'll make sure they get their badges," he explained, mentally sweat dropping.

Liam thanks Saxton for the badge keeping his eyes at head level before putting it with the rest and heading off with the rest to the center. Taking a quick look around to see if he could find any gob stoppers that would fit the deinos mouth well enough that they wouldn't just be swallowed.

Once everyone meets up, and Autumn stops beating Russ for his stupidity, the pokemon are healed and everyone heads on over to the Contest Hall.


Russ slams his fists together in anticipation. 'I wonder if I could use a ribbon as one of the badges to get to fight Damian? Oh yeah! Ineed to pick someone to use ...' Russ look at all his balls, before finally choosing RAT to enter the contests. 'C'mon, let's go!' Russ practically charges through the door.

You see the Contest Hall has pulled out all the stops, with four spotlights lining the red carpet entrance to the hall. On closer inspection, you see that this was different from normal: there was a poster, with seven different characters standing on a small island. It read, "Imported from Sinnoh / With both Subtitle and Dubbing Options / SCOUTS OF OUR LIVES / Premiere Event! One Week Only! Have the Actors of Scouts Of Our Lives show you the ins and outs of contests!" As you walk in, you see two of the characters in the poster at the front manning a table, a dark muscular man wearing a mesh top (http://kujiun.digibase.ca/020111topd.jpg)and a cheery pink haired girl with a fancy top (http://i.imgur.com/89fkD.png). Before the man could speak up to say anything about the group, the perky girl slaps him on the mouth and speaks first. "WELCOME TO THE SIENNA CONTEST HALL! My name's Leticia, cute moe-moe girl! <3" You all swear you can almost see a heart coming out of her when she flashes the peace sign. "And this is Stone Fighter, big bad chaotic-evil-stupid fighter." Stone grimaces, ready to fight back but does not, most likely because he was told not to. "Are you five doing your first contest?"

You remember your mom and sister were HUGE fans of this drama, even though you think it should be a comedy. Probably. How am I supposed to know what you think?

Damien blinks for a moment, and quietly nods. "Y-yeah, we are," he replied, abit surprised by the sudden warm welcome though by no means disproving of it. "I've seen a few on TV, but never really had the chance to try one before now,"

Ah that overly melodramatic show, no wonder my sister got into it if they do contests as well. She loves taking part in them as well as basically everything else about them. Mom liking them is still no suprise though seems like an old persons show to me no sense of humour at all

Obviously keeping this to himself. Liam starts talking

"I've done a few little ones back home ages ago, wasn't very good so i could use it explaining again."

Autumn finally gives in and has Lillian healed so she can be entered into a Smart Contest. Once in the hall though, she starts having second thoughts, "yes," she says, before she loses her nerve, "entering the Smart Contest."

Russ flexed his muscles. 'Tough contest.' He nods towards Stone Fighter.

"Awesome~" Leticia stands up but immediately gets shoved down by Stone's hand on her shoulder. "Oh, owie~" Her top button on her blouse popped, revealing some cleavage. It seemed that was the whole point of the get up. "I'll take care of them." Leticia just pouts there, leaning in to both warn the others about Stone with a "Be careful around him~ he's a bad, bad, mean person~" and get into the most fanservice-y pose possible. Stone just sighs and stands up, walking to the area on the left with five vending machines, a normal clerk with an apron, and a few Poffin makers, which seem to be part-blender, part-oven. "Now, here's where we start. First, you should pick your Pokemon." He points at the big poster on wall, reminding everyone the five different kinds of contests and the flavors each one is bonded to. "You want a Pokemon which, above all else, has the most moves with the contest type." Stone nodded, pausing half a minute for everyone to look up what moves are aligned with which type, before continuing. "The next step is Poffin making. Let me know when you're ready."

Checking down Ghosts moves it looked like there were 2 smart, 2 cool and 2 tough. Not exactly the perfect distribution but it could work.

"Sure lets go and have a look"

Russ looked over RAT's moves, oblivious to the cleavage on show. Seemed he had enough to take the Tough Contest. 'Hey, hope you like Sour food.' The muscular Rattata seemed indifferent to the sour taste, but then again, it had eaten a fighting shifter, hadn't it? That probably tasted really sour, and it didn't mind too much.

Autumn blinks, "already picked my pokemon," she says, petting Lillian, who was on her shoulder again. Said mon waves one of her leaves at the big guy.

Damien turns away reflexively from the gratuitous fan-service, and makes sure to hand Leticia her button back once the coast is clear. After checking his options he opts to go with Stormy and the smart contest; and was quick to explain to the little gal what was going on. "Okay, we're good,"

After Accepting her badge Sylvia, rushes after Russ to catch up with him before healing her pokemon at the center and heading to the Contest Hall.

Arriving at the Hall, she glances about the building taking in all the sights before the group approached the table with the dark man and cheery girl.

After listening to their introductions, She nodded in agreement to joining a contest. "Yeah, I guess I'd try a beauty contest if Amelia's up for it." She then looked to the fox who gave a cheery, "Pix!" Signalling her interest.

"Right I guess she's on board.." The ninja then looked up in time to see the sudden flash of cleavage, but she averts her eyes away from the view not wanting to stare or be accused of staring. "So poffins then?"

"Hm." Stone ignores Autumn's comment, not really caring about the stuff before pointing at the venting machines. "Right, this is how poffins work. When your Pokemon eats a poffin, something changes, and that Pokemon gets more... whatever you fed it. You should know. But that only works the first few times you feed 'em a Poffin.1 Also, there's a limit on how much it can change due to Poffins2 and how tough, beautiful, cool, whatever you want."3
"You suck at explaining!" Leticia sticks out her tongue, using a finger to open up one of her lower eyelids. Stone, however, just ignores her and continues on. "These five vending machines contain the most popular single-flavor berries." Each vending machine, on closer inspection, contains a small fake bush with a bunch of real berries hanging from it. Each one also has a different kind of berry and a sticker on the front telling you the name and flavor of each one: Figy (Spicy), Wiki (Dry), Mago (Sweet), Aguav (Bitter), Iapapa (Sour). Stone himself shows how the vending machine works, putting in the coins for an Iapapa berry and catching the berry as it falls into the slot. "These will be your easiest way to make your poffins, so it's great for beginners."
"But it isn't the cheapest way!" When you all turn around, Leticia is standing next to the clerk. She points at the big sign next to the counter, which lists every other berry, with their price and flavor. "You could get a better deal if you mix these two-flavor berries!"
Stone shakes his head. "But if you aren't careful, you'll end up with dual-flavored Poffin, which I personally don't recommend."4
"Meanie." Another stuck-out tongue. "Always serious, all the time~"
Stone continues to one of the machines. "Right, this is how you make poffins." He pulls out a mini-chair from the side, which looks like it was made for children, and sits on it next to the machine. Surprisingly, it doesn't give way. "Now, you can put as many berries as you can into a single Poffin, but it will only benefit the first few."5 He puts the berry he just bought along with a few other berries into the blender before covering it. "I suggest you put five in each poffin you're going to make, as only a few poffins work on a Pokemon." He closes the lid to the blender and presses the button, which mixes the berries together before depositing the mixture onto the oven, which bakes it into a perfect poffin. It pops out of the machine, and Stone takes it, juggling it in his hands from the hot hot HOT. "After you let it cool down, you can give it to a Pokemon." He then backs off, letting you all try.
"Oh, silly Stone! You forgot the MOST IMPORTANT THING!" Leticia nods, being the smarter (for now) one. "Whether or not your Pokemon likes or dislikes the flavor matters also, so choose your Pokemon wisely!"6

Mechanical Notes
1 You can only feed a single Pokemon five Poffins. After that, they gain no boost from any other poffins given to them.
2 The Contest Stats on a single pokemon, when added together, may not exceed 20.
3 No single stat may have more than 12 points.
4 A dual-flavored poffin has its value halved.
5 Only the first five berries count towards value and flavor.
6 If you feed a food which has a disliked flavor to your Pokemon, when it gains half of the value of the food, subtract an additional point from it when adding the points to the Contest Stats. If there is a liked flavor in the food, add a single point into the liked flavor’s associated Contest Stat.

Calculating the flavor and value of your poffin

Stone put in one Iapapa berry and four Pinap berries, for a total of five berries. Pinap berries are both Spicy and Sour, so with just those berries, the poffin would be dual-typed. However, adding the Iapapa berry, which is pure-Sour, will unbalance the two, letting the poffin's Sour flavor the best flavor of the poffin. Its value is equal to the amount of berries put in, in this case, five.

To summarize, calculate the amount of berries providing each flavor. For Stone's poffin, there are 5 Sour berries and 4 Spicy berries. The max one is the flavor of the Poffin. If there is a two-way tie, the poffin will be both flavors, but its value would be halved. Russ does the same as Stone, mixing the berries together and cooking them in the oven. He had his Iapapa, and four Razz berries (so it would taste like raspberries to RAT:smallbiggrin:) for a total of 5 Tough points for ^515. Just like Stone, he forgets to let it cool down, and shoves the still oven hot Poffin down down RAT's throat.

Autumn gets a wiki berry and four persim berries, it was cheap and the dry flavor would be the prevalent flavor, which is what she was going for. It wouldn't help with this contest all that much, but that wasn't really a bad thing in her mind. She'd see about making a more bitter one later.

After Russ rushed forward and went ahead starting to make his batch, Sylvia approached the vending machine and purchased 5 wiki and 5 razz berries for ^1135 and proceeded to follow stone's instructions with making the poffins.

While waiting for the Poffins to cook in the oven, she looks over to Russ stuffing his hot poffin down Rat's throat. "Um, Russ. I know you're excited but maybe you should slow down a tad bit for Rat's safety." She commented before her Poffin finished.

She then pulled it out the oven, thankful that she had gauntlets so she didn't have to touch them barehanded, and presented them to Amelia. "There you go girl. Be careful it's still pretty hot so let it..." Before Sylvia could finish the sentence, Amelia was already happily noming on the things. "Oh right...fire type, guess you'd actually prefer it hot."

RAT spits out the Poffin almost immediately, and then latches onto Russ's hand. After about a minute of running about in pain, RAT lets go and then tucks into his now cooled Poffin. Russ's hand was now heavily scratched and chewed.

'Aww... does someone need some healing?' asks Emma. Russ nods with tears in his eyes, then Emma rushes over ....and rright past him to RAT. 'Aww, poor baby. Did big bad Russy Wussy burn your tongue?' RAT proceeds to cuddle into Emma as she heals him, gnawing on his Poffin.

After giving it some thought and studying his options he ops for a mixture of Aguav and Persim berries; doing his best to follow the instructions as best as possible, and waiting until the poffin had cooled off before presenting it to stormy. He knew it probably wasn't anything special, but hoped it was good enough for the little lass.

As soon as everyone (except for the hipster) finished making their poffin, Stone clapped his hands once and turned around without a word, heading to the hallway on the other side of the entrance. "Come on, guys, let's go do an actual contest now!" You all, following Stone and Leticia, end up in a wide, extravagant hallway, with couches surrounding five doors. Each of the couches has someone, and they look up as soon as you all enter. One by one, they introduce themselves. "My name's Wildling!" exclaimed the person towards the first. He looked like a boy with a Chimchar costume, not unlike those you found in the cosplay gym. "Fabulous beauty contest here! Niko and I train in arts of FABULOUS!" The third looks like a typical Ranger, and he sneers at you. "Come do this cool contest if you think you're cool enough." The fourth, a female knight in shining armor with a spear that seemed to be made out of Unowns that spell LANCE (http://i.imgur.com/T5IqG.jpg), nods to you all. "I'll be helping out with Smart contests myself." Finally, a girl wearing a simple dress (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/YellowYoshi/CoordinatorRikala.png) also nods to you all. "If you think you're all tough enough, join this Tough contest!" she says, in an accent that betrays her otherwise beautiful look Meanwhile, Stone and Leticia stand side-by-side with a steel double-door, in stark contrast with the other five doors. The metal sign on it says "WARNING: ADVANCED TRAINERS AND CONTEST PERSONNEL ONLY"

While Amelia was noming on her poffins, Sylvia watched the bit where RAT spat out the poffin and bit Russ. 'Yeah, i'd do pretty much the same.' She sighed, believing RAT's reaction was justified.

When Emma began to cuddle and heal RAT, Sylvia's expression softened with a warm smile as she watched the psychic revealed more of her gentle side. A pleasant reminder of how she is still sweet and kind but could still be strong when she needed to be and how Sylvia admired those aspects. 'I should do something nice for her.' She thought before stone got her attention.

After following the two and meeting up with each of the contest trainers, Sylvia and Amelia approached the man in the military uniform. "We would like to try our hand at the beauty contest." She then takes a good look at the man's outfit and thought it was well put together. The scarves really tied it all together, though the hat was a bit much for her.

Damien walks over to the Knight sitting by the fourth couch, glancing occasionally towards the large steel doors in curiosity, " Uhm, we'd like to try out for the smart contest," he said, more than a little glad for his bandana at the moment; certain that Stormy's static would've made his hair stand on end by then. "Uhm, if you don't mind me asking; what's over there?" he inquired pointing towards the restricted area.

"It's where the hit band Mürdërländ plays their gigs. They're a pretty sick metal band. Loves to have battle contests while they're playing. They're also pretty strong, so no one recommends a first-timer to contests or battles try it out."

Russ's shoulders slump when he sees it was some girly girl hosting the Tough Contest, he had hoped it would be someone like Stone, or even the cool looking old guy in the nice hat.

'Me and RAT are taking a tough contest.' He turns and looks at Damien and the knight, eager to see if the girl answered his question.

Beauty - Sylvia
The man in the wizard hat nods to Sylvia. "Come then, let drink finest Snowpoint vodka. Name Putin." He quickly drinks half a mini bottle of vodka before handing it to you and leading you to the back stage of a big theater, which was decorated in red roses. As soon as you get to the center, the announcer starts: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have our final contestant for the Beginner's Beauty Pageant!" The crowd of about three to fivepeople in suits and dresses applaud. It seemed as if the contest really was rigged for beginners. "Come now, when your turn, come out, show fabulous Pokemon!" Three staffers in their contest hall uniforms (which, for the Beauty part, was also suits and dresses) send out three Pokemon: a big penguin which looked like a crown was stuck on its head, a Butterfree with something up (WIS check to spot the difference), and a Kingler with two claws which were about the same size. Putin himself is the fourth contestant, and sends out a huge serpent-fish, which the audience loves and recognizes as Putin's signature Pokemon. Finally, the announce speaks up: "And our newest challenger, Sylvia Rosesong!" At least, he gets the name if you gave your name to Putin earlier.

Cool - Liam
The Ranger tilts his head up to look at Liam with downcast eyes before smirking. "Alright, if you think you're cool enough, fine then. I'm Dave." He waits for your name, becoming more impatient the longer he waits to say it, before quietly leading you to the backstage. "And now we have our last contestant for the Cool contest!" the announcer says, to an eerily silence, none of the men wearing sunglasses or women with fedoras even starting to clap. The audience introduces the first three Pokemon one by one: a small leafy gecko, a Starly, and a Purrloin, none of them special in any way. You wonder why, until you realize Dave is the first major character to disappear without a trace in the show. You also wonder where the trainers are, until you also realize that the three non-important staff members are wearing black longcoats and fedoras to camouflage themselves into the black curtain. Dave is called up, and he takes out a large whale, which was backstage. Finally, Liam's name is called, but the announcer is so silent about it the only way he knew was Dave's glare and the long, awkward pause of no one being introduced.

"My name's Revvy." The female knight politely bows slightly, not able to bow more because of her armor, and asks for both of your names. She leads you backstage to the Smart contest, which was adorned with glowing lines. "This is how the contest works." she said quickly, before being interrupted by the announcer announcing the two new contestants to a few people, all with glasses. "When your name is called, come up and show off your Pokemon. We're all going to go easy on you guys, as this is your first time, so good luck out there." Soon, two staffers also wearing glasses take out a Lucario and a green-haired woman in a long, flowing dress, similar to the one in the fish shop (WIS checks for this and after). Revvy comes out afterwards, sending out a ghostly horse with chains surrounding it. Finally, Damien and Autumn are called out in that order.

Tough - Russ
"Alright, then! Always good to get the tough ones. My name's Yodel, and you better be as tough as you look!" Yodel gets a name and turns around, leading the way to the backstage of a stage decorated with weights. Russ, however, walks right into the middle of the introduction stage, with the second Pokemon coming out. Yodel tsks and looks at you. "When they call your name, come on out with your Pokemon, ya'hear?" The three staffers, in athletic wear like the audience, send out a fire-y slug (WIS check), a Tentacool, and a Rhyhorn. Yodel comes out, taking out a metal rock mon. Finally, Russ's name, or rather, SEISMIC TOSS's name is called out.

Don't stress out. None of you have anything that can affect this round, and as the others are going easy on you, they do not have anything either. Just calm down and send out your Pokemon. ...and Kuji says calm down as he stresses out about this whole contest dealio. Oh boy.
