1.) Chamber of Comfort (or Bottle of air, or Wind Pipe, or some amalgam of the three)
2.) Ring of Sustenance
3.) Crystal Ball (with all spells added, or an equivalent item)

What? The air runs out pretty quick...

I'm pretty sure there must be a way to set things up so you can telekinetically move the bag from the inside and use it as a little mobile fort. Probably something involving an Unseen Servant that you sent outside of the bag. Pretend to be an animate Bag of Devouring (actually you're just trying to get a decent sandwich, but they're all psionic these days)...

I'd be good with just two.

A 1/day device that produces the effect of magnificent mansion, and the Tome of Ancient Lore.

Get my read on and learn to be a wizard in a bag. MM never gets me out of the bag, per se, but it does get me much more comfortable living conditions, and more importantly air.

Three magic items, you say...? :smallamused:

1. Ring of Sustenance (no need for food or water, 2500 gp)
2. Iridescent Spindle Ioun Stone (no need for air, 18000 gp)
3. At-will item of Astral Projection (explore the world!, priceless 356250 gp)

Technically, you aren't out of the bag, only a projection of yourself is. Just beware the githyanki and their silver swords...

We had a dmpc cleric that we had in a bag of holding. We equipped him with a ring of sustenance and gave him a bottle of air. We were also using the bag to carry our loot which did include books. Apparently he spent most of his time reading.

On a humerus note in another group we had a number of puddings oozes etc.
