To say I made this a long time ago is an understatement, I made this back when I first started homebrewing on the Wizards boards, back when I used Plaguewraith instead of EdroGrimshell. This was part of a project that I never completed (not for lack of trying, mind) for making base classes that mixed two of incarnum, psionics, and spellcasting. I only ever completed the psycarnate, the psionic/incarnum mix. And even then, I never finished compiling the soulmeld or power list, instead just using the incarnate and psion power lists respectively. There's also no fluff at this time, mostly because I lost it when the thread it was on was deleted.

Hit Die: d6
Alignment: Any

Wpn/Arm Prof: A Psycarnate is proficient with all simple weapons but not with any kind of armor nor with shields.

Power Points/Day: A Psycarnate’s ability to manifest powers is limited by the power points he has available. His base daily allotment of power points is given on the table below. In addition, he receives bonus power points per day if he has a high Int score. His race may also provide bonus power points per day, as may certain feats and items.

Powers Known: A Psycarnate begins play knowing one 1st-level, Psycarnate power of his choice. Each time he achieves a new level, he unlocks the knowledge of new powers.

Choose the powers known from the Psycarnate power list. A Psycarnate can manifest any power that that has power point cost equal to or lower than his manifester level.

The number of times a Psycarnate can manifest powers in a day is limited only by his daily power point reserve.

A Psycarnate simply knows his powers; they are ingrained in his mind. He does not need to prepare them, though he must get a good night’s sleep each day to regain all his spent power points.

The DC for saving throws against Psycarnate’s powers is 10 + the power’s level + the Psycarnate’s Int mod.

Maximum Power Level Known: A Psycarnate begins play with the ability to learn 1st-level powers. As he attains higher levels, a Psycarnate may gain the ability to master more complex powers.

To learn or manifest a power, a Psycarnate must have an Int score of at least 10 + the power’s level.

Meldshaping: A Psycarnate has the ability to shape incarnum soulmelds, which are drawn from the Psycarnate soulmeld list. He knows and can shape any soulmeld from this list.

The DC for a saving throw against a Psycarnate’s soulmeld is 10 + number of points of essentia invested in the soulmeld + his Int modifier. His meldshaper level is equal to his Psycarnate level.

The maximum number of soulmelds that a Psycarnate can have shaped simultaneously is equal to his Con score minus 10 or the number of soulmelds on the table, whichever is lower. At 1st level, he can shape one soulmeld at a time. As he advances in level, he can shape an increasing number of soulmelds.

At 1st level, a Psycarnate also gains access to a personal pool of essentia, which can be invested into his soulmelds to increase their power. His essentia pool's size is shown on the table below. His character level determines the maximum quantity of essentia that he can invest in any single soulmeld. As a swift action, he can reallocate his essentia investments in his soulmelds every round.

A Psycarnate does not study or prepare soulmelds in advance, but must have a good night's rest and must meditate for 1 hour to shape his soulmelds for the day.

Chakra Binds: Beginning at 4th level, a Psycarnate can bind his soulmelds to his chakras, granting him new powers based on the soulmeld and the chakra chosen. Binding a soulmeld to a chakra closes the body slot associated with that chakra so that he cannot also benefit from a magic item worn on the body slot associated with that chakra.

The number of chakra binds that a Psycarnate can have active at any one time depends on his level. At 4th level, he can bind a soulmeld to his crown chakra. Beginning at 6th level, he can bind soulmelds to his hands and feet chakras. At 10th level, he can bind soulmelds to his arms, brow, and shoulders chakras. At 13th level, he can bind soulmelds to his throat chakra. At 16th level, he can bind a soulmeld to his waist chakra.

Azure Talent: At 1st level, a Psycarnate gains Azure Talent as a bonus feat. Additionally, the essentia capacity for Azure Talent is increased by one.

Psycarnum Soul (Su): A Psycarnate can choose to forgo some of his psionic power to empower his soul for a short time. Starting at 2nd level, a Psycarnate can spend power points to gain essentia equal to half the spent power points. The maximum number of power points he can spend is equal to his manifester level. These bonus essentia last for one minute.

Bonus Feat: A Psycarnate gains a bonus psionic or incarnum feat at 3rd level and ever four levels thereafter.

Spiritual Focus (Su): Beginning at 5th level, while psionically focused, a Psycarnate can choose one of his soulmelds, this soulmeld’s essentia capacity increases by one for as long as the Psycarnate remains psionically focused. For every five Psycarnate levels thereafter, he can increase the essentia capacity of an additional soulmeld or increase the essentia capacity of a soulmeld by an additional +1.

Spirit Manifestation (Su): Beginning at 8th level, a Psycarnate can invest essentia into this class feature. Reduce the power point cost of manifesting powers equal to the amount of invested essentia to a minimum of 0 power points. He must still pay the amount of power points to augment the power as normal.

Midnight Augmentation: At 9th level, a Psycarnate gains the ability to augment his powers more effectively, using the power of incarnum. He gains the Midnight Augmentation feat, if he already possesses it, he instead gains any feat he meets the prerequisites for. The essentia capacity for Midnight Augmentation increases by one. He can invest essentia into this feat at will and can remove essentia as well.

Psycarnum Soulmeld (Su): Beginning at 12th level, a Psycarnate can use a standard action to spend five power points to temporarily shape a soulmeld he could normally shape. This benefit lasts for one minute. At the end of the minute, the soulmeld is unshaped, however, he can spend an additional five power points to shape it or another soulmeld again. He cannot benefit from this ability more than once at the same time.

Psionic Chakra (Su): Beginning at 14th level, a Psycarnate can use a standard action to spend 10 power points to temporarily bind an unbound soulmeld to a chakra he has access to. This benefit lasts for one minute. At the end of the minute, the soulmeld is unbound from the chakra, however, he can spend an additional 10 power points to bind it or another soulmeld to a chakra again. He cannot benefit from this ability more than once at the same time.

Psycarnum Investment (Su): Beginning at 17th level, a Psycarnate can flood his body with incarnum through shear force of will. As a swift action, he can expend his psionic focus and spend 15 power points to treat one of his soulmelds as having twice the amount of invested essentia than is actually invested in it ignoring the normal essentia capacity of his soulmelds. The investment lasts for one minute.

Spirit Resonance (Ex): At 18th level, Psycarnate can call on the power of psions past and future, to flood his body with psionic energy. For every point of essentia invested in the Azure Talent feat, the Psycarnate gains five power points instead of just 2 power points per point of invested essentia.

Psycarnum Mind (Su): Beginning at 20th level, a Psycarnate can use the power of psycarnum to acquire the knowledge of powers normally outside his reach. Once per day, the Psycarnate can invest essentia into this class feature. For each point of invested essentia, he gains a powers added to his powers known list based on the invested essentia below which last as long as the essentia is invested. The maximum level of this power is determined by the amount of invested essentia as shown on the table below. Essentia invested in this ability remain invested for 24 hours. The Psycarnate can only learn two powers from each power level beyond 6th level.

No love for a Psionic Incarnum base class? :smallfrown:

Your powers known don't sync up with your max power level. As a result, your 3rd and 5th level powers are delayed by 1 level.

Too much essentia at low-mid levels. You're overflowing your capacity. Printed Incarnum classes provide about 1/2 to 2/3 of the total essentia capacity of their soulmelds. Any more sort of ruins the essentia mechanic (you can't reinvest if you have nowhere to shift things around, you have no need of more when you're already at max, and you have no real choices to make when everything's full no matter what you do).

Spiritual Focus lets you get the highest essentia capacity of all classes for a single soulmeld (ultimately 2 points higher than the Incarnate, for a total of 10 with items and a feat). Since you can change your assignment of increased capacity whenever you regain your psionic focus, it's almost as malleable and useful as applying to bonus to all soulmelds. For a class who that has meldshaping as a secondary focus, this seems off. Then Psycarnum Investment blows the lid off of even that.

Spirit Manifestation talks about spending essentia to augment, rather than power points. It's also rather redundant in concept with Midnight Augmentation, and for a manifester it's power is rather extreme.

Power list? Soulmeld list?

You have 7 bonus feats Psychic Warrior manifesting. How is this not just a gestalt Psy War/Soulborn with even more power thrown in on top?

Like I said at the top of the OP, this thing is OLD, and currently unfinished. I wanted some opinions on it. I thank you for your thoughts and will be updating the class with said information once I get some more opinions.
