but still, why would you want to destroy your future loot? it makes no sense (the sunder rules never did to me anyway, and rustmosnters were the devils work, so...)

Pretty much. That's what I was referring to with Improved Sunder, actually; it's basically a feat that allows you to employ scorched-earth policies on yourself against enemies you could likely defeat anyway. Kind of a terrible idea.
