Hi all, I'm a newbie to 3.5 so be gentle!

In my first session I was turned to stone by a basilisk (I came in mid-way to a campaign that's at 11th level.) We discussed using Stone to Flesh to turn me back to human, but we have no way of casting it. However, we do have a cleric who can cast Break Enchantment. This spell seems to explicitly undo petrification, however, to successfully cast it you must make a caster level vs. 11 + the caster level of the effect.

So my question is, how do I know the caster level of a basilisk's Petrifying Gaze ability? Or is this simply something that Break Enchantment does not work on?

Thanks in advance!

The effective CL for supernatural abilities is the HD of the creature unless stated otherwise, so CL 6 for a normal basilisk.

You do realize that covering yourself in the fresh blood of a basilisk is actually the cure to un-petrifying yourself, right?

That's Pathfinder, IIRC - in 3.5, you need the spell.
