Are there any races of humanoids out there? I don't need to worry about level adjustment or anything, since I'll just be borrowing its form via the dragon fire adept's humanoid shape invocation. Not for numerical value, mostly just to have my halfling pop into something large for the fun of it.

Would Goliath (RoTS) do it for you? :smallconfused:

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the Constrictor Naga, from Oriental Adventures. They are Huge sized Humanoids. I think they were errata'd to Monstrous Humanoids, though. I'm not sure.

Generally the Humanoid type is reserved for Medium or smaller mundane human-shaped creatures. Giant covers the essentially mundane Large and larger human-shaped space, and Monstrous Humanoid, and occasionally Magical Beast, is for extra limbs, lots of innate magic, or that kind of thing. So I doubt there are any natively-Large Humanoids, because those should all be Giants.

(The logic of separating creatures into two different types based solely on their size is of course highly questionable, but them's the breaks.)

Jotunbrud from Races of Faerun. Treats you as large for opposed checks and against certain attacks, but does not allow you to wield larger weapons without a penalty...

...Thats all I can think of atm... :smallannoyed:

I'm almost certain I remember seeing one somewhere (not the oriental nagas) but I don't remember where.

I'll take a look through my collection and see if I can find it at some point in the not too distant future, unless someone else remembers where it is in the meantime.

Right, know about feat. But since I'm changing shape into something, I need something that is already large size. Guess I could just do a really tall halforc. The specifics of the form are left up to the caster after all. But it's not the same.

I did some poking around, and I found this nifty Monster Index (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/monsters). I searched the index for "Humanoid, Large". The only monster that I could find that was not a Naga was the Asabi Stingtail from Monsters of Faerun. Stats can be found here (http://www.realmshelps.net/cgi-bin/mainlist2.pl?name=Asabi_Stingtail).

Close but no cigar. Monstrous humanoids.

That's weird. The Monster Index says Humanoid, and so does the book. So either the link was wrong, or it was updated.

Yea realmshelp is wrong. They are humanoids.
Also I recommend checking out this (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19870954/The_New_Dragonfire_Adept_Handbook!) and while it is also just a good idea to look over the whole thing, the notes at the bottom about the best things to shift into with humanoid shape are there. So that's a start.

The Saurials web enhancement for Serpent Kingdoms includes the Hornheads, which are large humanoids. They also have 2 RHD, so I do not know if that would louse anything up.

Hornheads are the only large-sized humanoids in 3.x (2 RHD, LA +2). The Asabi Stingtail and Shinomen Nagas were changed to monstrous humanoids via errata.

(However, the Shinomen Nagas were updated in Dragon #318, which was the 3.5 update for OA. If your DM doesn't allow Dragon Magazine material... then they may still be large humanoids.)
