Curious on public opinion, if you were going to make a "chef" or cook for a party and try to make that your central point, would you be stuck around a druid or artificer crafted idea, that revolved around brewing potions?

This is going around a RAW build idea, nothing homebrewed or such.

I would go for a skillmonkey who focuses on Proffesion (Chef) or Craft (Food?) and go into exemplar. BE THE GREATEST CHEF EVER KNOWN. YOUR DISHES SOLVE ARGUMENTS BETWEEN NATIONS.

I imagine you'll want Heroes' Feast and Create Food and Water on your spell list, so Cleric seems like a better choice than Druid - though Goodberry is an all right Druid spell for this purpose. The Creation line of spells/powers could also work. If you want to get fancy, a Divine Crusader with the feat Priest of the Waste gets access to Create Food and Water, Create Water and Heroes' Feast, and a Contemplate dip can tack on one of the domains with the Creation line - this gives you all the spells you need twice as quickly as Cleric, so you have 10 levels to devote to other stuff.

A high Survival skill will ensure that you can get ingredients from the wild, though, so if you want to avoid spells, combine that with some of the harvesting-flavoured feats like Trophy Hunter could work.

Theres also the warrior chef option, who has trained to be as skilled at combat as he is with cooking, in order to hunt down rare beasts and survive expeditions to get rare spices, herbs, vegetables, or fruits.

True on the hunter of rare things bits, but this isn't my attempt of rare beats lets you use rare power when you cook it, but sadly I have to have magical power to create magical food stuff.

Actually, I more meant "hunt down rare beasts because they taste good as sitr-fry". On a more rules oriented side; some sort of easy way to get fire would fit with the theme, as well as perhaps cooking themed weapons(a chef pc I'm playing currently uses either a two handed giant chef's knife[keen greatsword] or duel wields french rolling pins[relfuffed clubs], as an example)

Actually he's a binder from ToM, usually using Amon to get fire breath

By far the most important spell is prestidigitation, it allows you to flavor food however you want. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/prestidigitation.htm)
